- Sarah (9/5): A peaceful resting stop just outside the city centre - Sandra’s place is a magical spot. You’re just a 20 minute tram ride outside of the city centre but you feel like you’re part of a calm oasis. Being on the water and watching the world float past is a wonderful way to relax as well, highly recommend.
- WebpanIQ (10/5): - kilátás a vízre, a ház, felszereltség, az ágy -
- Susan (9/5): Property is exactly as described, we particularly enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by. - Sandra met us at the property and talked us through key lock procedure. Nothing
- Kaila (10/5): Wonderful stay next to the water - Love the beautiful, quiet location - wonderful for a romantic getaway, but still very close to public transport into the city and only 20mins walk to Vondelpark. The host met us and was extremely friendly, explaining the property and giving tips for our stay (and leaving some lovely snacks and wine). The bed was absolutely excellent too, we are both very tall and it was giant! I'd recommend this location to friends and family, a wonderful time!!
- Bernadett (10/5): Gorgeous and warm even in cold weather it someone its concerned about the heating (i know we were) - Everything Nothing we didn’t like
- Grazia (10/5): -
- axelle (10/5): - Super accueil, lit très confortable, super vu !
Nous avons adoré notre séjour :)
- Patricia (10/5): Lovely nice place clean is more beautiful an picture - Perfect all
- Abdulraouf (9/5): - Sandra is the best
- David (10/5): Fantastic host(Sandra). Went above and beyond to help us. (and she has 2 nice dogs). - Not many eating places within walking distance. Owner actually went to market and bought us breakfast oastries!!!! Only the weather, which has nothing to do with the place.
- Jacqueline (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful, and romantic stay that was even better than expected. - The boathouse was even dreamier than the photos! It is in a wonderful area that is within easy walking distance of plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. It was so quiet and peaceful to sit on the dock and just enjoy the weather. Nothing!
- Patricia (10/5): Perfect -
- Gail (10/5): -
- robert (10/5): - Very cozy property. There was a local cat that was very friendly who came into the boat a few times. 11/10 experience as we always miss our cats when away. The mattress kept slipping off centre and was difficult to get back in place. Very comfortable bed otherwise
- Florence (9/5): -
- Miguel (9/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Great accommodation for a romantic weekend - The view, the water, the nice place
- HADUONG (10/5): THE place to stay - Serenity, the host is exceptional. The best of the best Nothing
- Eilidh (10/5): - The property is compact (but equipped with everything you might need) and very open and light with fabulous views of the lake. Sandra was so friendly and easy to communicate with, and clearly cares a lot about the guests experience! We had a wonderful stay and felt so at home there. ❤️
- Alister (10/5): Wonderful, relaxing and special. - The location is stunning and the boathouse itself is very comfortable and nice. Everything we needed is right to hand. The location is great and the boathouse community is a lovely one to be part of, even if its only for a few days. Nothing - I will mention that there isn't a sofa or lounge sitting inside (so people know) but we didn't care about that at all. We either sat on the deck or on the big bed.

- Siegfried (8/5): Einfach toll im New Lake Boathouse!!
- Antoine-Emmanuel (10/5): -
- Walid (9/5): - Great communication with the host, who was very welcoming and helpful.
Awesome location, very charming and peaceful - while being fairly accessible.
- Mario (10/5): Wir waren beeindruckt -
- Abdulmalik (10/5): chill, relax & enjoy the nature - location is amazing, even it's a house boat you won't feel your are in a boat, house won't move with water & wind, with soundproof. and toilet system is very good like normal home. on top of that you have a romantic terrace, where you can chill, relax, have your morning coffee, evening wine or jump and have a swim.. comfy beds like sleeping on clouds... fully equipped kitchen with all your needs.
Sandra was very welcoming us and helping us.. as my wife was sick on day of arrival, and she took care of us
we were a couple even though she gave us 3 bikes to use for free during our stay.. 5 mintus away from supermarket & shops..and 20 min. by bike to central amsterdam crossing the beautiful vondalpark.... as well Bos park is near by where you can enjoy waking or biking. Safe and lovely neighborhood to stay. highly Recomnded . for sure will stay here again. nothing
- Jon (10/5): A lovely place to stay in Amsterdam - The location on the water was superb. We loved to watch the riverboats go past, or to stay inside in comfort. We were always warm and comfortable. It was easy to walk to a tram or bus to go into the city centre and free cycles were provided which we used to go to a laundromat and get groceries. Sandra provided easy to understand instructions on getting to the boathouse, left fresh milk in the fridge so we could make a cup of tea, as we were arriving late, and was very helpful throughout our stay. Nothing!
- Donna (9/5): Wonderful 2-night stay in Amsterdam! =:) - Owner was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. We had a bit of trouble finding the home at first, but she came out to meet us right away and gave us the key/showed us around. The best surprise was that she offered us the use of her bikes/locks & we used them to do our sightseeing around town. We had a rental car, but on the busy King's Birthday Weekend (& really, parking in town would be a challenge any day, any time!), it was a real time & parking fees saver (not to mention a lot more fun!) to bike everywhere. We went to the Reich Museum, had lunch outside there, did a canal boat tour & Anne Frank House all in the same day. Biking thru the city was really fun, safe & common. She has equipped the home with all the necessary amenities plus a few extras like complimentary snacks and drinks in the fridge. Very thoughtful! The decor was comfy, cozy and had lovely Dutch touches. We enjoyed watching the boats come down the canal from the dock patio out back and the swan, coot and ducks too. If we ever come back to Amsterdam, we would love to stay at this home again!
FYI, the owner's home is literally on the other side of the house, but you have a private entrance to the guest side and the canal patio is on the guests' side too. Definitely one of our favorite stays on our 16-day (2500+ miles!) European Roadtrip! =:) Minor, but noticeable: there was trash in the canal in the front & one side of the home. Finding the home was a little stressful, but owner was so prompt in answering our call & getting us to the right spot to get checked in & settled, even though we were later than originally expected due to our tour bus being late to return us from the tulip fields tour.
- Patricia (10/5): Beautiful wonderful time at Sandra’s lake boathouse.she was super kind and thoughtful - Wonderful waterfront patio Nothing
- Richa (9/5): Superb -
- Jen (10/5): Perfect - Everything Nothing
- Sreenivasa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): A beautiful 5 days of comfort and tranquility - Location was stunning, waking up every morning next to the water. Only a short bicycle ride in to Amsterdam Central Area
- Beverly (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay there again upon returning to Amsterdam. - Breakfast was not included with this property. But there were little cafés not too far from the boathouse. The property was also not far from the tram stop, which was nice for getting to the city center. We felt very safe walking back to the boathouse late at night. It was a very quiet and peaceful location. I must also add that the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! That is so important when traveling. Sandra was so helpful throughout the whole process. This didn't bother us, but light does come in through the closed blinds at night. If you need a pitch black environment for sleeping, make sure you have a sleep mask.
- Edward (10/5): So cosy homely relaxing beautiful - Everything about it!
- Girneata (10/5): A true Amsterdam experience staying in a boathouse and bikeing around - The location, the view and the house looked gorgeous. Sandra was a very good and helpful host.
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - Sandra was very helpful and friendlily i would like to thanks her a lot for the nice greeting and welcoming in her place
balcony and seating area on the river was amazing experiences .
- Ivan (9/5): An enjoyable stay in a very special house. - The terrasse gives a unique view in the morning. Truly enjoyable. Sandra is a stellar host with excellent communication.
The apartment was clean and didn’t lack equipment. Maybe due to the proximity of the lake, some odor can be a bit strong IF you are sensitive.
- Sangmyong (10/5): Amazing place - It was my third Amsterdam and this place was the best ever. Everything was perfect. Stunning view, great location, convinient equipments, lots of animal friends, much more spacious room than expected and most of all, Sandra. Everything she has done for us was very generous and very kind. We would not forget how she helped us.
From now on when we travel Amsterdam, we will definitely stay here. You don’t even have to go out. Cuz on the terrace, you can feel and see and hear everything peacefully. We miss there already. Nothing at all.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Sandra was a wonderful host, so kind and welcoming. She even left us gifts for Christmas! Cannot recommend enough!
- Julian (10/5): A perfect hideaway retreat on the outskirts of Central Amsterdam with a spectacular river view. - Sandra was a lovely host and accommodating in all aspects. The setting was incredible .We loved the lightness of the property and the amazing view of the river . All of our expectations were exceeded. A warm and comfortable place . Everything worked and the bed was super comfortable . Nothing
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Peaceful couples weekend - Loved everything about this boathouse! Sandra was so lovely and welcoming but gave us our privacy, the boathouse is more spacious than I imagined, bed is like sleeping on a cloud and the shower was great! We used the bikes a lot to explore Amsterdam and we felt very confident on the bike paths once you get the hang of it. The boathouse is in a very quiet location so very peaceful and relaxing, we loved sitting out on the deck even though it was freezing cold when we visited. I would recommend this accommodation for anyone who likes something a bit different and enjoys peace and quiet! Nothing!
- Manuel (9/5): Amazing and peaceful stay. Perfect for a little weekend getaway. - Amazing location (far enough from the centre of Amsterdam that you don't feel you're in a capital city, but only ~30 mins by public transport to Centraal station!), and a really well-furnished facility. Really comfy bed, too, and watching the sunrise from it was simply magical. The balcony really completes it, we felt we could really relax there! While the accommodation is totally separate from the owner's houseboat (in terms of having its own entry etc), it is not a separate houseboat (just a part of a very large houseboat), hence you do have some noise intrusion from the adjoining rooms where the owners live. We are used to that (from living in a semi-detached house) so it did not put us off at all.
- Tonia (10/5): Would highly recommend - Bed was super comfy. Walk out patio to beautiful view. Quiet, clean and quite spacious for the size A little closer to “downtown “
- Kristbjörg (9/5): Nice boathouse - The place was very clean and easy to access
- Julien (10/5): One of the most pleasant and fulfilling places to stay at in Amsterdam - Positioning:
Perfect as a launching pad in all directions, I enjoyed taking a GO Electroscooter (which are readily available all over Amsterdam). Sandra also offers a variety of bicycles for free, make sure to get one that’s in good working order.
Location:
Very lovely separate part of a boat house, with a quaint terrace platform on the water for two with a beautiful view of the water. Very clean, wonderfully maintained and everything you need. Sandra also left delicious gifts at the beginning of the stay, as well as a lot of coffee (which I thankfully indulged in, being very tired and overworked). The bed is fluffy, soft and perfect.
- Abhinav (9/5): So pretty, so relaxed, just a beautiful weekend cottage on the water! - It was just a perfect little cottage by the canal, with a balcony over the water! Lovely location to take it easy in Amsterdam.. but if you want to go into the city centre everytime, then it’s not quick. All good, except we didn’t use the cycles provided.. would’ve easier getting out n about. It’s a good 20 mins walk from any nearest tram/metro station
- Stevewren (10/5): Thank you Sandra for your generous loan of the bike for Sean. - Perfect location for my needs and on the water is a genuine Amsterdam unique experience.
- Madeline (10/5): Soon to be our second home. - Where to start?! Firstly Sandra our host was amazing, right from the start we had great communication and on our arrival we actually arrived early and she did everything she could to allow us to check in early. The apartment is part of Sandra's house so she was there to greet us on arrival and talked us through everything in the house and use of the bikes. Right from the front door the view over the water is gorgeous (which is also the view from the bed!), when you step out onto the little deck it's perfect.
The bed was huge and very comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen were spotless and we even had a couple of welcome beers in the fridge. The kitchen has everything you need including a draw full of adapters so don't panic if you forget one, along with the bathroom that has toiletries and lots of fresh towels. There is even an iron, fan and umbrellas for the rain.
The location is perfectly out of the way of the hussle and bustle however, if you can I would definitely use the bikes. The cycle paths are very safe and instead of a 20min walk it's barely a 10min cycle to the nearest Albert Hein (grocery shop) and tram stop (cycle to Lunchtime Grannies to park the bikes and the number 2 stop is right there to take you into town).
Everything was absolutely perfect for our wedding anniversary, sandra really thought of everything that someone might need. That the holiday wasn't long enough.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great different location for Amsterdam stay - Amazing location on New Lake. Just as pictured on line. Bed so comfortable. Lovely to watch & listen to birds on the lake. Use of bicycle to get around. Many thoughtful inclusions by owner so that really well provisioned; felt like a home away from home. Only that pillows were too full for my neck so just used a towel.
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful place on the water - It was perfect Nothing
- Madaline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sian (10/5): Gorgeous and cosy little boat house. - Lovely little boat house with all I needed to have a comfortable stay for 3 nights. The host was kind and left some wine and crisps for me and there were little toiletries available as well as milk, tea and coffee. Loved the view from bed and the cosy little home Not much except perhaps no little grocery store nearby. Some planes taking off but non during night time.
- Catrin (9/5): A fantastic stay! :-)) -
- Janet (9/5): Great spot - Location next to the canal. Super comfortable bed. Nothing
- Flor (10/5): Great booking and excellent for a couple. Thx Sandra! - Everything was excelent
- Gabriella (10/5): It was peaceful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The view was amazing and gave us a really new perspective of - Beautiful view, gorgeous space and tons of amenities! I loved everything!
- Lee (10/5): Beautiful relaxing weekend - Lovely quiet location, short tram ride into central for nightlife restaurants etc. 2nd time we’ve stayed..looking forward to the third! Everything was great
- Misty (10/5): Romantic canal boat house escape - The location was wonderful with an amazing view. Parking was nearby, as was a metro stop that could take us right into the city center. The bed was the most comfortable I have found since traveling in Europe. We felt warm and welcomed with drinks and even some snacks. I would love to come back.
- Madhin (8/5): Lovely stay! - Lovely boathouse right by the river with amazing views. The host Sandra was lovely and was there if we had any questions. The location is a bit out of the way if you are travelling into the city via public transport.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house and view. Nothing it was perfect
- Elizabeth (9/5): Very beautiful. Private. Perfect lil spot. - It was quiet and slightly out of the way yet still in good proximity to things. Private. It was small so no real comfy place to sit except for the bed.
- Nina (10/5): Cosy boathouse for two - Sandra was a perfect host, she was next door so always available if we needed anything but honestly she provides everything you could possibly need! Shampoo, conditioner, razors, hair products, coffee pods, even wine! The bed is comfy with plenty of pillows, lots of towels were provided and there is an iron/ board and a small wardrobe. The kitchen is perfect to make breakfast, light lunches or a simple meal, but you are within an easy walking distance to restaurants and the tram stop into the center, we walked into Central Amsterdam on most days and the walk was lovely and mostly along the canal leading up to vondelpark...
I'd never stayed in a boathouse before and it didn't feel at all as if we were on water, the boathouse itself is beautiful, very cosy, warm and perfect for two. The view of the lake is lovely, I'll miss waking up to it every morning.
I honestly couldn't recommend the place enough and thank you to Sandra for being a wonderful host!
- Yousef (9/5): Superb - The view is perfect, the host is very friendly and kind, quite location
- Moore (10/5): Incredible, best play we’ve ever stayed at! - The property was extremely clean, well thought out and looked amazing! The hosts offered plenty of additional things to make us comfortable including hot drinks, toiletries etc! The best!!! Nothing
- Lee (9/5): Lovely relaxing weekend - My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the boathouse, the property was clean and cosy with a lovely relaxing view. Bed was very comfortable, facilities were just what we needed and complimentary bikes were great for a little tour of the local area. Thank you Sandra for a lovely stay we will certainly try to book again in the near future Nothing
- Libby (10/5): Hidden gem with a bed to die for! - Cannot recommend this place enough. Beautiful patio terrace to wake up too every morning, with cute views of the canal and surrounding boat houses. Sandra the host made us feel so welcome and right at home. Honestly a hidden gem, our favourite thing was the bed, we did not want to get out of it. We cannot wait to return!! Nothing to dislike. Everything was thought out and host went above and beyond our expectations.
- Hadacast (8/5): Very good - Quality of bed, towels, wellcome us with a snack. very cozy and warm. amazing experience. I a bit far (15min walking) from public transport and only a couple of restaurants in the area,
- Mandy (10/5): Wonderful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Small, compact & stylish overlooking the lake Would like to be closer to restaurants & bars
- Eriksm (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was awesome, beautiful setting, quiet, just perfect 🇦🇺 The weather wasn't kind to us at all 🇦🇺
- Deniz (10/5): Amazing! - The New Lake Boathouse is absolutely stunning. The interior and exterior are charming. The decoration inside is clean and modern but with a lot of personality. The facilities are great; there's a fridge and cooking facilities if you don't want to go out to eat. The floating balcony is a great feature - I enjoyed being able to sit outside in the sun watching the boats and ducks go by. The location is slightly outside of the city centre, but the nearest tram stop is just a 15 minute walk away and the walk itself features a lot of beautiful scenery. The local area around the boathouse is quiet and safe, so if you're looking to get away from the drunken tourists in the city centre then this is definitely for you. The host is very a very friendly, helpful and overall lovely woman. She gave us some complimentary snacks, beers and even a bottle of wine for our stay!
I'd definitely recommend this boathouse if you're fed up of staying in hotels that all look the same and you want a change of scenery for once.
- Rory (10/5): Perfect place to stay - We loved the location; so peaceful and serene, the beautiful boathouse, the comfortable bed, the hostess was fabulous and extremely helpful before and during our stay. We loved everything about this property and wished we could have stayed longer
- Ellie (8/5): Very good - Beautiful accomodation, exactly as described. Before I booked our flights we requested a late checkout (4pm) which was approved by the host in February. If it hadnt been apporived i wouldnt have booked later, more expensive flights. I then booked a later flight of 6.35 pm knowing we had the accomodation for the day, our luggage was safe and we could head into the city centre knowing we could eat and freshen up after. I have coeliac disease and had bought food from the supermarket that I had planned to eat before heading to the airport. The night before we were due to leave I received a message asking what time we were checking out in the morning so I replied immediately querying the late checkout. Didn't hear anything until 8.30 am the next day telling me we had to be out by 11 as she needed to clean for the next guests arrival. I shared screen shots of our message exchange and confirmation of late checkout and was just told we had to leave. She did offer to keep our bags but we had to throw all the food away and spend additional money on eating out and on a taxi to the airport. Very dissapointing, if you book here and request a late checkout make sure you confirm.
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
