Guest Reviews
- Lise (10/5): Au top!
- Raffaella (10/5): -
- Debora (8/5): -
- Yu (8/5): Lovely view and in the canal. Nice little cabin to see the world go by. Close to everything within 20min walk. Will reco - So convent to train and close to everything within 20mi. Walk Could not control the temperature of room really well
- Stephan (9/5): -
- Miguel (10/5): -
- Bodo-Joachim (7/5): - Super Lage. Begrüßungsgetränk vor Ort. Nette Einweisung Es gab keine Trennungstür zwischen den Schlafbereichen.
- Chris (10/5): Would come back here every time - Just the best location ever. Central to everything and being on the canal with the view was simply amazing. Nothing
- Silvan (9/5): Great stay in Amsterdam! - - Everything as described, very good location within walking distance to the city centre.
- No problem to accomodate 4 people
- Hanspeter (10/5): -
- Thomas (7/5): gute Lage, im Sommer bestimmt toll, auf dem wasser zu sein. - kurz ggü. am Haus klingeln, dann kommt jemand schon ein wenig teuer
- Mason (10/5): Another great stay in Amsterdam - We love Amsterdam and have visited several times. But never stayed on a boat on a canal. Great view and location, obviously. Nice little outdoor sitting area and fairly roomy inside (I had space to do Pilates) with a sink and fridge. We loved it! I don’t think there is WiFi. I never asked to be honest and the password was not given to us. We had great coverage and didn’t ever bother to inquire.
- Amanda (10/5): amazing to stay on a canal boat in Amsterdam very warm comfortable and surprisingly spacious - lovely to be able to sit outside on the boat and watch the boats go by
it was bigger than i thought it would be lots of storage and very comfortable for my husband and i and tall gown up daughter the key to front door of boat was bit tricky but they were fixing it for us
- Yasmin (3/5): Was terrible wouldn't recommend to anyone - That it was on the water The advertisement makes out you get the whole boat, but you get the small bit at the back of the boat, the beds were ridiculously hard and very uncomfortable 3/ 4 of us have bad backs, the cleaning lady was rude as hell, we only asked for towels, the host of the boat was rude and abrupt when we complained and he come storming in our space and flew open the door and stood there over us asking what our problem was and that Noone has complained before (hard to believe) it wasn't safe and secure and was a complete waste of €800 for 2 days

- Sara (9/5): Wenn Amsterdam-Prinsenboot!
- Phil (10/5): What a lovely place to stay. Our host Kelsey was so friendly and helpful. Waking up on the canal❤️❤️ - I could pick them up till late. Working out which door to buzz in the dark was a little challenging
- Barbara (8/5): Super Lage!
- Heinz (6/5): Unique but lacking lots - The “boat “ was close to everything including secure parking
Suppose call unique Did not like the fact no one there to meet on arrival, wasn’t aware was a canal Boat ,
was very warm and noisy , bulkhead over bed wasn’t padded and hit head at least 5 x
The boat was smelly and musty wasn’t clean
Shower leaked water over bathroom floor
Tv didn’t work in dining area
For the price paid definitely expect more not even a box of tissues !!!
- sharon wolff visoky (10/5): - Wonderful kind owner, amazing location, amazing facility. Small but everything you need.
- Tolga (10/5): -
- Kristin (8/5): When I think about our trip to Amsterdam, sitting on that patio by the canal is one of our favorites - We loved being on the canal and using the patio to watch the boats sail by throughout the day. Considering we were right there, it wasn't too noisy at night. The canal was very quiet and serene in the mornings. The listing said they had air conditioning, but I didn't actually feel anything coming out. It was about 85F when we stayed there, so the boat was very uncomfortable. They had one fan, but we used two sleeping areas, so one fan wasn't enough. The "kids" sleeping area is best for people 5'2" or shorter. The bed in the "parent" sleeping area was very firm, so this could make it hard for some people to sleep.
- David (9/5): -
- patricia (10/5): Great first house boat experience - Our favorite thing to do was sit out on the porch and watch the boats pass. So many friendly waves. Couldn't have been a better location to food, drinks and attractions. A little walk to the train station but doable. Friendly welcome and easy checkout No air conditioner but fan worked
- Jennifer (9/5): A real treat - great way to experience this beautiful city - Absolutely stunning. The accommodation really made the trip special for all the family
- Nicki (10/5): This was a great experience. Sitting outside having a coffee watching the boats go by was sublime. - The novelty of staying on a boat. A bit cramped for 4x people and outdoor space only fits 2x.
- Alice (10/5): Wish we could have stayed more than three nights! - Staying on this particular canal on a houseboat was perfect. There was a lot of boat traffic and friendly people passing by while we had food and drinks on the small outdoor balcony. The location is a block or so from a Metro stop and a grocery store is around the corner. The hosts were friendly and helpful. There were three of us- my husband, me and our college-aged daughter- we had ample room and it’s a lovely interior. We will stay there again. There was nothing we disliked.
- Aleksandra (8/5): Lovely stay in a great neighborhood! - Great location and unique stay on a houseboat. Was super quiet at night. Lovely stay in the canal. Fun watching other boats go by while sitting on patio. It did get a bit warm on the hotter days. Mattress in the bedroom was a bit pressed in from use on one side.
- Madeleine (10/5): Wonderful boat experience. - We stayed here during Kings Day weekend. The location was perfect. We were able to watch the boats go past on the balcony.
The boat itself was lovely. It was shared with the hosts, however you had your own private section which was definitely big enough for 4 people for a weekend. The hosts were lovely and very attentive. They kindly left some beers and wine for us for when we arrived. We will be back. Nothing to comment here.
- Zuhirah (8/5): Wonderful! The best way to stay in the Netherlands! - We loved the view, location, and terrace on the canal. Truly the only way to stay in Amsterdam, we were the envy of every passing tour boat. It was near a coffee shop for breakfast parties and coffee just a few steps away. It was a little small and we hoped for a door on the bedroom but otherwise great!
- Kenn (6/5): Great location from which to explore Amsterdam! - Overall it was good. With 3 of us it was a bit small. It would have been good to have 3 stools outside. And the outside deck wasn’t clean enough to sit on. Fortunately the weather was good and we were out a lot. The staff were friendly and the location excellent.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wallace (8/5): We enjoyed our stay overall and I would recommend this property - Excellent location, very clean. Good space overall, great host. The balcony was very nice. It was very quiet overnight. Mattress wasn’t as comfortable as I like- I could feel a ridge in the middle of the bed. Although it was advertised as sleeping 4, it was not disclosed that the second bed was created by the conversion of the dining table. No privacy in bedroom, and there was not good ventilation except for opening the door to the patio. Although it didn’t bother us at all, we didn’t realize in advance that the boat is divided into two units and we didn’t have access to the top deck. The other people in the other unit were very quiet.
- Dmitry (10/5): A very memorable stay in central Amsterdam - Location: Very centrally located, within easy walking distance to all major tourist attractions. A couple of lovely cafes and a small supermarket are just steps away. The hosts were responsive and welcoming, making our late check-in process really easy. We enjoyed the nice little balcony with canal views, perfect for a drink at the end of a day exploring Amsterdam. We had a great, memorable stay. Thank you. Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect stay in a lovely space - Great location, great host, and a lovely space with lots of atmosphere! Would definitely recommend Everything was great!
- Cachia (10/5): Excellent location and very quant - Very central Nothing
- David (10/5): Brilliant experience -
- Shu-hui (8/5): Fabulous! Marvellous! Unforgettable weekend! - The location was really good, very convenient with metro nearby. Clear directions from the very friendly host. We had breakfast on the deck and waved at passing boats. Wonderful experience! Nothing not to like about this boat.
- Leeanne (10/5): Favourite place to stay in Amsterdam - Excellent location with a little outside space Nothing
- Leonard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (9/5): Lovely, unique stay for an Amsterdam vacation - Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood. Hosts communicated well and promptly. We loved the balcony! Comfortable amount of space for a family of four. Skylight leaked when it rained, but hosts were prompt to respond to our request for a towel so we could wipe up the water.
- Roger (9/5): Fun Canal Accomodations - Location, amenities, supplies. Had everything we needed in a perfect location. There should be a screen of some sort between the bedroom and the rest of the cabin.
- Sorcha (8/5): Good - The staff was amazing ... friendly and helpful... couldn't ask for better
It was very clean and well equipped.
Although not the outside area we were expecting ... it was nice From the photos we thought our outside area was different .... it was still lovely but just not the same. The boat is actually in 2 parts ... someone else lives in the other half .. the bigger bit
Dining area was converted into a bed ... it was strange and not the most comfortable.
No door or screen between dining area and bedroom so no privacy
We were 4 grown adults and we were on top of each other.
Bed was rock hard
- Maria (10/5): Perfect Amsterdam experience - Amazing experience for our last days in Europe. Loved everything, position perfect in town but not noisey at night. Handy to everything. Excellent unique experience. Can’t wait to stay again :))) Nothing
- Tolga (9/5): Superb - İt was very fun sitting in the balcony and wave at the people passing by on boats, while drinking beer with my friends
- John (10/5): It was all very relaxing - The location was perfect and within walking distance of many places of interest. It was so easy to check in and Kelsey was very friendly and most helpful.
- Ramsey (7/5): A very nice boat , but lacking in some aspect for a family. Great for a couple! - The boat was in the water in a very convenient location; walkable everywhere! Staying on a boat was a unique experience. The fact that the only dining table doubles as a second bed was not transparent. I asked several time to confirm the second bed and it was described as a sofa bed. I do not recall a description that the dining table is lost if the bed is used.
- Lauren (8/5): Fantastic location and fun alternative to a hotel - It was so much fun staying on a boat close enough to walk to everything, but still nice and quiet at night. The host was friendly and communicative too. The bed could use a new mattress as it was kind of sunken.
- Adair (10/5): Excellent value and excellent location. Great stay for a fun loving family. Thanks Prinsenboot team! - Amazing location, great welcome and check in. Very comfortable sleeping for 2 adultts and two children. Comp[limentary drinks and coffee were a real bonus. Also a real help to be able to leave the bags somewhere secure after check in. The blinds on the patio door are a bit tired.
- Francesca (9/5): Superb - Location, site….was amazing and staff really nice!
- Kevin (9/5): Incredible, authentic Amsterdam experience in an amazing location. - Beautiful, authentic canal boat kept in excellent condition. Location is incredible, a short walk from central Amsterdam and all the main sites. Expensive for what it is but the uniqueness of the experience and great location make it worthwhile. Note that the boat is split in two apartments and shared with the owner.
- Joel (10/5): Amsterdam on the Prinsenboot - Booked the Prinsenboot for a 3 day stay for my wifes birthday. We received a lovely warm welcome by Kelsey and Miljo. Kelsey kept us informed of the arrangements/checking in process leading up to our stay. They were kind enough to offer some storage for our non valuable luggage for our early arrival/late depature and to top it off , we were met with some complimentary beers and a bottle of wine on our arrival (Thank you). The Prinsenboot was beautifully presented and in such a perfect location, not too far from a cafe for an early breakfast, a trip to the Albert Cuyp market, or a just a simple walk along the canals. We enjoyed sitting out on our own private deck, in the evevings with a bottle of wine and waving at the other canal boats sailing by.
We would highly recommend the Prinsenboot, and we would happily stay there again. As much as I really appreciated the complimentary beer. It was alcohol free, but I'm just being picky, to put something in this section.
- Kristi (10/5): Incredible location, fantastic service, we loved it! -
- Laura (10/5): We couldn’t have expected more from our stay at Prisenboot. It was perfect! - We absolutely loved the boat and all the facilities! We found it spacious, comfortable, amazing balcony view and perfect location! Great home comforts; fridge with complimentary drinks, iron, hairdryer, shower gel etc. would highly recommend. Nothing!
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional - Been to Amsterdam alot and this was one of the best time never slept in a boat so was our first time doing that kids loved it close to every thing we just enjoyed our little break away thanks again
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional - Fun stay on a boat, it was a surprise for our 8 and 6 year old kids. Kids bed is too high with no fall barriers , they ended sleeping with us.
- Monika (9/5): Superb -
- Yann (8/5): Very good - Great location and houseboat experience in Amsterdam
- Amanda (9/5): Well appointed apartment in excellent location. - The novelty of staying on a boat & location was great.
- James (9/5): Superb - Lovely boat within the beautiful surroundings of the Prinsengract (third of the big central canals).
Less than five minuets to get to the nearest metro station which is shockingly easy to use even without a strong grasp of Dutch and this really opens up the city, particularly areas outside of the old centre which can be harder to reach otherwise. This also makes the journey from centraal station an absolute breeze even with luggage as the trains are large and rarely over-crowded.
Having a private balcony was a lovely touch with the views of the canal, which was extremely pretty in the evenings and the morning.
There is also a very nice (if suitably expensive) bagel shop near by, and for people trying to keep to more of a budget there is a grocery shop (AH) not far past that which has the basics you would need. The photos made it hard to tell what we would have in our space and what was in the other suite(s). That being said the actual description of the facilities and information given by the host was accurate.
- Saoud (9/5): Superb - The staff was excellent
Location is super
The environment is very good
Very nice experience The design of the bed was not really good. The ceilling is PARTIALLY very low .
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic experience being on the canal. Stayed over Christmas and had an amazing view of decorated houses and passing boats. Not for those with mobility issues. For us was great.
- Glyn (9/5): Perfect location for a visit to Amsterdam - Magic and very central location. Warm and comfortable, next to metro and tram line.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional - The view of the canal and the fact you're so central to everything is an added bonus Nothing at all
- William (8/5): Very good - The boat and balcony
- Lucinda (8/5): Very good -
- Leeanne (9/5): Excellent stay, would 100% stay again - Loved the location and loved having the outside space by the canal. Unable to use the coffee machine as the wire was worn away so didn’t look safe.
- John (8/5): Enjoyed staying on an Amsterdam canal in a real canal boat. - location & unique nature a few roof leaks
- Michal (8/5): Perfect experience to sleep in a house boat! - It was super central, the apartment is super sweet and well conditioned, special experience in Amsterdam For more than two nights the space for family is little bit too small.
- Caroline (5/5): Mis-sold - photos were different to where we stayed and showed outside space on top of the boat which wasn’t available. - Location was great, ideal for 2 people only (not 4 as advertised) - no use of outside space on top of the boat (photos suggest that there is)
- not suitable for 3 people (only a couple/2people) as you have to use the dining table as the second bed.
- air conditioning wasn’t working throughout our stay which meant the first night in particular was really warm in a confined space
- Beverly (9/5): Excellent stay in Amsterdam. - The location can’t be beat. It was so lovely staying on the canal. What a way to experience this beautiful city. Noticed a little mold in the bathroom and in the undersides of the recesses in the bedroom. Only mention so that it might be treated regularly.
- 明月 (8/5): Very good - 1.Exceptional location, less than 100 meters' walk to the nearest subway station exit.
2.The small balcony is superb, offering views of passing vessels and Amsterdam's most exquisite riverside scenery.
3. There's a chain convenience store, AH Vijzelstraat, nearby, open until 10 PM, which is very convenient! The air conditioning was out of order. Despite temperatures reaching 27 degrees Celsius at noon, it felt more like 30 degrees inside the cabin, creating a rather stuffy environment. Fortunately, the temperature dropped in the evening, so sleeping was not an issue.
- Jimmy (7/5): We really enjoyed the location and staying on the boat was a neat experience, but don’t expect bells and whistles. - The location is perfect. The view from the balcony may be the best in the city. There’s nothing like waking up and having coffee right on the canal. It’s a really neat experience staying right on the boat. The property did not have AC or a safe. The ceiling leaked during the rain, even after informing the staff there was an issue. The space was always a little damp and musty. It’s a bit like staying in an RV.
- Sandra (10/5): It was worth the little extra cost, hands down! - It was located exactly where we wanted to be. It was quaint and peaceful. The small deck right on the canal was the highlight of our busy day. Sitting watching the boats go by with a glass of wine was the best. No air conditioning if and when it’s hot. The steps are a little tricky coming into the house, you have to be very careful.
- Joanne (8/5): Great location, lovely host beautiful boat ! We had two adults and a teen and it fitted us nicely. - There was no break fast included in this stay, they did have a lovely bottle of red an a few beers and beverages for us which was lovely No big knifes for cutting preparing food. Not being able to let top deck windows open to allow for heat to escape.
- Howard (8/5): Very good - Small outside seating area watching the boats go by whilst enjoying a glass or two of wine Entrance is difficult with luggage and parked bikes/cars beside the canal
- Jane (9/5): We loved it, and we’ll be back! - Amazing location, quiet, clean and a lovely small balcony to sit at and watch the world go by. The wifi was a little patchy, and there seems no door to the bedroom, but that’s all.
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional - The location was fantastic. So cool staying a boat and watching other boats go by. The steep steps but nothing to complain about.
- Lisa (9/5): Lovely boat in great location. A totally unique experience. - Amazing location, best in Amsterdam, in my opinion. Close to metro station, 2 stops from Centraal station. Very comfortable even for 4 tall people.
Lovely bathroom.
- Nikoleta (8/5): Very good - SAFE LOCATION, DEFINITELY LOOKS BETTER WITH THE EVENING AMBIANCE, EASY ACCESS TO ALL THE MAIN POINTS OF INTEREST FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS, MET THE OWNER WHO WAS REALLY NICE THE BOAT SMELLED LIKE SMOKE UPON ARRIVAL, SOILED TOILET BRUSH CLEANER.... WIFI NOT WORKING...WEBSITE ADVERTISED AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION WITH BOOKING FOR 2 NIGHTS OR MORE, HOWEVER NON WAS OFFERED, WHEN ASKED THE WOMAN WHO HANDED THE KEYS (NOT OWNER) SAID SHE COULD CALL US A CAB (OUR EXPENSE)
- Kirk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jiwan (10/5): When visiting Amsterdam, you've got to stay on this houseboat! - Excellent location - central and very close to metro and tram stops.
- Ceri (9/5): Superb -
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location
- Tiffany (10/5): Great spot in the most beautiful and accessible area of Amsterdam! - We loved the location and balcony on the water. Nothing!
- Bailey (8/5): Lovely, love Amsterdam, loved the boat - Location is fantastic for walking access to everything, host was very helpful and on hand, boat is compact but has everything you need, wifi a bit hit and miss but not a problem A door on the bedroom would have been nice with three of us staying, but its ok, its a two day stay
- Stephen (9/5): I had a great AMS visit - and the accommodation helped make it special - Fantastic central location, right next to new north/south metro station and surrounded by food/drink options. Great balcony overlooking the canal was super for morning coffee. Got early checkin which was a plus! A little small for a couple I think.
