- Linderholm (9/5): -

- Jordan (8/5): Quaint stay in Jordaan with all you need to live comfortably on vacation. - Loved the location - it was very cute and we felt safe, plus we appreciated that it was right next to a laundromat. Also, the bed was very comfy and the fridge and microwave were nice to have. The bathroom was pretty small and we wish there was another set of pillows.

- Emma (7/5): great location - Eel house needs some love - the location is fantastic - the Jordaan is the best neighbourhood for walking the city, for restaurants and for experiencing Amsterdam like a local. The steep staircase to the studio is very authentic but will not be suitable for everyone (carrying a suitcase up and down the stairs will be tricky for some). The price is amazing for the location if this is where you want to be. The local restaurants are great but DO book as they are small and very busy with locals. the studio is quite basic - no creature comforts like fluffy pillows or nice bedding, although there was a fridge (switched off) and we experienced quite a lot of noise (footfall and loud voices) from the flat above as well as a water leak from above which looked like it has happened before - I'm sure this is a problem with the old houses. It seems to be managed by a company and the information on the laminated sheet on the table was old and out of date. Someone need to show this studio some love and then it will be amazing.
- Yonca (9/5): Great location, kind host, and a lovely place overall. - The location is excellent and the vibe is really nice. The room is simple but spacious, full of light, and very clean — nothing fancy, just comfortable with basic amenities. The stairs are quite narrow, so keep that in mind if you have large luggage or difficulty climbing.
- Rob (7/5): -
- Akala (10/5): Lovely getaway - Beautiful light filled room close to everything :) Nothing
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location! Walking distance to every main tourist thing. The neighbourhood had plenty of great restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again! Nothing! Carrying suitcases up the stairs is a bit of a workout but part of Amsterdam’s charm
- Cynthia (3/5): Poor -
- Stephen (8/5): Tiny apartment, we'll located in Amsterdam - Comfortable, tiny place, well located to explore Amsterdam Quite costly for what the place offered.
- Erin (7/5): WARNING about luggage and stairs - Wonderful location close to the city centre, but away from the hustle and bustle of it all. Within walking distance of all the main things. Unfortunately not that close to main bus and tram lines though. They’re about a 8-10 min walk away.
The apartment was a decent size with lots of windows for a beautiful view. I really enjoyed the neighbourhood and how quiet it was. Do not come here if your bag is bigger than carry on, or a backpack or weighs more than 10kg. The stairs are the original wooden stairs of the house. They are extremely thin and small. A bag cannot rest on a step. And they are narrow and caving in.
I struggled with my bag up and down the stairs. I honestly saw my life flash before my eyes a few times and thought I was going down with my bag. This would have been a definite no place for me if I had realised this before I came.
It also says you can leave your luggage here, but not before and after a certain time. So just be careful about that too.
The water pressure is not great in the shower and the kitchen is very small. More just for reheating food or using the fridge if needed.
- Larry (7/5): Property worked for our needs - Easy walk to restaurants and train station Could provide soap for showers and dish soap and wash cloths so that dishes could be washed. Need new drapes, many were difficult to close. Outside of property could be cleaned up. Flower beds/litter and graffiti don’t leave a good first impression
- Kübra (9/5): Superb - Location was great, I loved the neigbourhood. You can find the best pubs & resturants, design shops, vintage shops around!!!
- Eonay (9/5): Superb - Beautiful and light space, very comfortable. Also, excellent location, extremely clean and amazing communication.
- Connie (9/5): We very much enjoyed our stay - Great location! Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. N/A
- Ati (3/5): Cold as outside - Location is 20 minutes away from the central station. Bath seems newly renovated and room was clean. Room was extremely cold as we arrive and heating didn't work whole night. We couldn't reach anyone with every possible way of communication. Heating started to work 7 am. We told we are going to make a late arrival. Apparently, central heating works based on another room's temperature. Imagine that heating didn't work since the last checkout and outside temperature was -4°C. Room was like 5°C since it's very old building without an isolation. We had to try to sleep with our thermal socks and jackets in the bed, which we were supposed to wear them outside not in a 8 square meter room that I spend approx 120 euros per night. Only the last night was fine. Unfortunately we catched cold as we return. One of us couldn't go to work.
- Camille (10/5): Great experience. - I loved the location. I’m a hotel person and enjoy that luxury, especially dropping off luggage. The room was quite small but we only used it for sleep and didn’t spend a lot of time there.
- Holly (6/5): Room good; access very poor. - The room was just as shown; clean; staff was responsive but best with phone calls. Cute room, lots of light. No complaints except for access. See below. I’m a 5’ tall female, 71 years old. To access the room located on (what we in the USA would call) the second floor I had to ascend two ridiculous flights of stairs requiring me to hold onto the handrail with one hand while using the other hand on each stair tread to climb up the steps. Each step is very high and each tread so small as to not completely accommodate my size 7.5 feet.
- Chee (8/5): Great location, steep stairways - The location The stairways. So need to be mindful if you have large luggages.
- Amanda (10/5): Perfect for a few days - Location, ease of access, view, great communicative hosts. Stairs could be noisy if you have noisy neighbors that come and go often. Had to lock yourself in with a key.
- Charity (5/5): Passable -
- Ct (10/5): well done. cute neighborhood - loved the corner room. the windows i opened and left open a lot. the kids playing in the park was a joyful noise to me! :)
the wind was perfect and the space was perfect for me. Not sure 2 people would be as comfortable of course. loved the plants growing up the wall to my window was beautiful. shower was great.
one block over is Saint Jean with the best pastry "kouign amann" I have ever had... and Tea and Coffee. got it to go and it was perfect. nt much seating. cute bars and shopping very close. i had trouble with the tiny dutch stairs at first... just not used to them :) but glad I got to experience that part too. I am glad I was on the 2nd floor.
- Caila (8/5): A cozy place to stay and soak in the atmosphere of Amstersam - The bed was comfy! The host was very responsive and nice. Only thing was the super hot day. It would have been nice way to cool the apartment down before and when I arrived
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cassandra (9/5): Charming studio in a great neighbourhood - Gorgeous studio, we actually gasped when we opened the door. The natural light and ivy and nearby trees are beautiful. Everything was pristine and comfortable, loved the bed. Kitchenette, washroom and other amenities were all perfectly sized for our short stay needs. Apartment is in a very lovely neighbourhood that feels quiet but is still only a short walk away from lively bars and restaurants. Host was very communicative and the check-in process was easy! I do have to mention the soundproofing - even earplugs didn’t help with how loudly you can hear everything the upstairs neighbours do, and unfortunately they got up at 4 am and 6 am every day of our stay, which didn’t make for the most restful trip. However - that’s just what these beautiful older buildings are like, so it’s not a mark against the property itself, as that’s what we were looking for. A small noise machine might be a good addition to the apartment to help with this.
- Katokat (5/5): Modest Small Apartment in Jordaan Subdivision - One room mini-apartment with table, small sink/micro/mini fridge, kettle and small counter top. Room has great windows & a Juliet (French) balcony (lots of fresh air and light).
Positives:
- The neighbourhood is a lovely location close to Anne Frank House & Canal Tours.
- Located in Jordaan, a lovely quiet neighbourhood (playground and park across the road) with lots of restaurants and cafes/bars. It is not in the heart of action if you require that.
- Lots of windows
- Lots of towels
- Comfortable bed and pillows
- Good amount of plug-ins
- Grocery & Laundrymat in area
- Being able to drop off your luggage is a big plus
- Daphne the apartment representative. (Maybe owner) is responsive (speaks English), professional and pleasant. She is concerned about your comfort and satisfaction The rooms are up several stairs which we knew would be daunting due to being steep, and they were. See pic. As there is no landing you have to leave your bags outside and schlep one at a time up the stairs. Not unusual for the NL but not suitable for anyone who can’t lift their baggage or for those with mobility issues also don’t bring big luggage - it will barely fit up the stairs .
The room is an array of vintage (outdated) pieces The TV is very small and has no instructions to use. Plus there is no volumn control. A larger tv mounted on the wall would give you some room for suitcases as there is very little space.
- sink in bathroom is tiny and has no counter space or shelves
- Shower has low water pressure and no shelves
- No cooking other than microwave. There is a kettle and a strange coffee making machine with no instructions filling the small counter space
- Duvet on bed barely fits so you are wrestling with your partner all night to get a piece of it
- TV (see notes above)
- No Safe
- No cork screw (has to go back to store to buy a screw top wine)
- Price (higher priced than quality received)
- Wifi not stable - kicked out in the early afternoon and couldn’t be fixed until next morning. Make sure to have a sim if you need it for backup .
- Karen (5/5): Great location but wouldn’t recommend - Location Sparse, the tv didn’t work. Had no signal. One wine glass! Had to get dressed after a long journey to go out to buy a cork screw. An inexpensive thing to supply. I Knew I had stairs to climb but didn’t know it was two sets. Sheets had brown stains on them. Asked for a later check out didn’t get a reply and the cleaner was at the door half an hour early which I didn’t appreciate.
- Gillian (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location across from a park.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Adele (9/5): We absolutely loved our stay at Eelhouse and would definitely stay here again! - The room and building are gorgeous, the windows are so beautiful and the room is so well lit and is in a very cute part of town. The upstairs neighbors woke us up a few times as it is an old building and the floors are creaky.
- Jasmine (9/5): Superb -
- Dorte (8/5): Great location close to "De 9 Straatjes" (The 9 Streets) - The studio is a good size for 1 person and 2 people (couple) would like it too. The bathroom is small but not tiny, and the shower works well. I liked that there was a microwave oven, so I could make breakfast. There was a (very) small zink in the room with cold water only, which made it difficult to properly clean the dishes. All in all this a great affordable place with a perfect location. There is a big playground across the building and some might find it noisy. Staying at the studio during winter time, I wasn't bothered by this. Kitchen facilities (the zink and cold water) could have been better. The bed was a bit soft.
- Hazewinkel (9/5): Superb -
- Emilio (7/5): My opinion is positive. - Well located in the city cose to the centre. Very nice and big room very bright and quiet. A special thanks to the owner Mrs. D. always kind and helpful ! On the other hand the small kitchnette and the very small bathroom are insufficient
- Toby (10/5): peaceful, restful, wonderful space - so many windows 😍 absolutely beautiful and plenty of space for one person-- the location was wonderful- i could easily walk or take a short tram to anything the stairs were a bit steep, but not too bad- otherwise everything was great
- Graham (10/5): Perfect stay in our favourite part of Amsterdam. Thanks for hosting us. -
- Benny (10/5): 10/10 - All around recommend for your Amsterdam stay has everything you need and for a very good price.
Location is not far away from it all - it’s actually in the coolest local cool neighbour(I used to live in Holland for 3 years). A very short cycle to eve thing you need to see.
- Narelle (7/5): Good - Location Stairs. Hand rail on stairs pulled out from wall
- Steepling (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent studio apartment for a stay in Amsterdam. The apartment is in a cozy and quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. The apartment is typical for the Netherlands so that you can expect steep stairs and smaller rooms. For the price I paid, it was an excellent choice for a short stay in Amsterdam. Communication with the host was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.
- Gisele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elden (10/5): Excellent stay, would recommend - Cosy, tucked away from the crowded area with restaurants and markets located close by. Stairs are a it steep
- Monica (9/5): Cosy room near everything - The perfect location , very near from the centre but very quiet at the same time . Quite cosy, good wifi , the host super nice and always available. I would definitily return. All good !!
- Malene (8/5): Very good - Great location and great service 👌
- Tommy (8/5): Nice place to stay in the vicinity of Amsterdam city center - Nice location at walking distance to Amsterdam city center with a lot of cafes and shops within 10 minutes on foot. Getting to the room was easy, keys left in a lock box outside the very unassuming door, no issues what so ever. The windows of the room are not isolating sound quite as well as you would like down to the street, and there is a playground right next to the building which woke us up very early one day when a horde of kids were there playing. The room could have used AC as it got hot several times over the course of a day, but this was manageable by opening the windows and airing the room out.
- Momoko (10/5): Gorgeous little place to stay - walking distance to everything! - There are gorgeous views out the window into the lovely neighbourhood - great for people watching! Amenities are provided and the place was clean with fresh sheets and towels. It's in a great location - walking distance to everything. Something to note is that there is a narrow and steep staircase inside to get up to level 2 of this property, so something to be mindful of if you have heavy luggage (there's no lift). It can also get a bit hot if you're staying in summer so definitely recommend using the fan provided.
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Edward (10/5): Perfect room for a peaceful stay in Amsterdam in one of the nicest areas. - Location was ideal, quiet and just off the edge of Jordaan (our favourite area). It was safe at night as well. There was everything you needed for a short stay, an iron and ironing board, kettle, wardrobe etc. The hosts were very responsive and happy to help. It was a typical dutch house, steep stairs and everything.
- Sergey (9/5): Superb -
- Denis (8/5): Very good - Location is great. Great value for money. Check in wasn't without the trouble. Standard check-in time is 3pm. We had to wait for extra 1.5 hr because the room was not ready on time. We got in at 4.30pm.
We did drop off the bags at 2.30pm and noticed that the room was still not ready (that was fine as there were still 30 mins to go). Attempting to contact the host to ensure the room will be ready by 3pm resulted in no response (via phone and booking.com). We were waiting by the property, and nobody came to clean. At around 3.15pm housekeeping has arrived.
On the positive side, host (I assume the property is run by a service company) did contact me shorty after with apologies. He has assured that this was the first time something like this has happened.
- Martin (9/5): Great location/able to walk everywhere within 15 to 40m - Location and quietness. N/A
- Kennydmac (7/5): Good - The location, the room was light and airy. Chipped crockery, limited facilities
- Isabella (9/5): Superb -
- Arthur (8/5): Very good -
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Asaf (9/5): Superb - everything was clean and comfy. The location was great to be a glimpse from the main centre the wifi didn’t work
- Midge (4/5): Disappointing -
- Peter-pan85 (10/5): Very Quiet Area - Spacious and very clean.
- Carl (7/5): Good -
- Lynn (9/5): Great location to explore Amsterdam. - I really enjoyed the area Studio Eeelhouse is in. It is in a quiet residential area but very close to the city center for shopping and food. We walked the entire city by foot. No need for a car. The little kitchen was convenient for making a few meals in to save on some money.
- Kris (6/5): Pleasant -
- Paul (8/5): Rained, didn't rain. Rained again, stopped raining again, doesn't ? matter, it's Amsterdam. No photo - What breakfast? Loved the area. Love Amsterdam, always have since 1980. Not being able to operate the tv, we're not all party animals. Knowing what the stairs are like, if and when I ever get back I will have to use a place with a lift. It's not great for the old folk.
- Tom (10/5): We had a great stay, with the location being ideal and just what we were after -
