- Lage
- Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
- Ruhe
- Philipp (1/5): Katastrophal, absolute Warnung! - Die Lage. Alles dreckig bei Ankunft, auch auf mehrfache Nachfrage keine Reinigung und danach wird die Rückerstattung verweigert.
- Aida (9/5): Small but very confortable - The property is very nice and clean.
Although it's quite small (as you can see in the photos), it has everything you need to make you feel comfortable. We stayed for a week, sleeping, having breakfast, and even having dinner on one day, all perfectly.
The location is perfect, very close to the historic center, museums, etc., yet in a quiet area with all kinds of amenities.100% recommended. Nothing. It has everything you need to be comfortable. As a suggestion, maybe a second chair, even if it's foldable, would be nice.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect Amsterdam retreat - We had a great stay despite poor weather. The houseboat is in a convenient location, so central and great restaurants nearby, and so nice to lie in bed with swans and ducks passing by.
- Kayla (9/5): Great location & neat property! Worth double checking with host on some amenities prior to arrival. - The property's neighbourhood was great. It was fairly quiet, allowing a good sleep. Being on the water was super cool. The sink outside the bathroom helps to make the one bathroom situation more manageable. Some amenities listed on the property's page were not provided - ex. BBQ and conditioner. We didn't see a BBQ anywhere (it is possible that it was hiding somewhere) but the rooftop had a lot of spider webs and dust and didn't really feel very cozy, so we didn't end up asking more about it. It would have been helpful if more hooks to hang things on were provided as well as more towels.
- Sam (8/5): Very unique lodging and would definitely stay again. Watch out for the swan. - Location was perfect and being on the water was a nice experience. Got bit by swan.
- Patricia (9/5): Great location and a unique houseboat experience. - Excellent location, within walking distance of several key points of interest and close to public transportation. The room was the perfect size for us, as we spent most of our time exploring the city. Staying on a houseboat was a unique and fantastic experience! The only suggestion I’d make, is to improve the shower/toilet facilities. The water splashes and leaves the floor all wet.
- Ropeland (5/5): Not impressed at all - The location is very good - close to PJIP metrostation, a lot of shops around. Walking distance about 15 mins from the convertion center. The experience being on boat also. is good. We reserved 2 rooms next to each other. It was a business trip and we were all day at work, coming back in the rooms at 21:00. Of course - with this lovely terrace we wanted to spend time with a glass of wine and small work talk. We are collegues, not friends. so don`t imagine we were listening to music or being noisy. Well, at 21:45 the host (who obviously is going to bed early) started showing up and tell us: " 15 minutes to 22:00... 10 inutes to 22:00. Please, 22:00 - 06:00 are quiet hours". This was very frustrating as the terrace is above her room and she didnt even allow us to talk.
Another issue - towels and duvets - ripped. Clean but sooo worn out. The stay in this accommodation is more expensivce than the hotels around - I think having nor worn outtowels and duvets is a must.
- Phaninder (3/5): One of the rooms was horrible. It was not cleaned. We had to contact owner multiple times to clean - Location is good One of the room was not cleaned.. it had full of dog hair used sheets.. my friend had allergies to dogs and he fell sick
- Ethan (9/5): Superb - Great location. Fun to be on a houseboat on a canal in Amsterdam- great experience. Nothing like waking up and watching the boats go by on the canal. Smaller than I expected.
- Emilie (8/5): Pretty nice setting in perfect location. - Perfect location and amenities, could benefit from little upgrading in the bathroom Bathroom shower situation is problematic and will lead to degradation of installations. A telephone shower, a curtain and a floor demarcation between shower and toilet would fix everything.
Also matress could be better for the price of the accomodation.
- Audrey (9/5): Lovely and unique stay on a houseboat! Great hostess! - Wonderful and unique stay on a houseboat! Host was helpful and great hospitality. Room was cozier than we expected. However, it was a lovely stay.
- Misja (3/5): Poor - no toilet paper which is quite unhandy! hist said to find it outside in the wooden box but there was no toilet paper, after no reaction from host
unacceptable
- Stuart (3/5): A very bad stay but we were the rare occasion - Easy to access room, window over the river from the bed was really good to watch the happenings from the comfort of your bed. Great communication from host prior to arrival, was really impressed. I took a long time to think about this to be fair to our stay and the owner of the property.
We turned up and the room wasn't cleaned from the last guest, we took an hour trying to contact the owner before we managed it as we sat in the 'dirty' room to find out what to do. As it was my birthday we just left the bags and went for a meal and walk as the owner kept us updated on the readiness of the room. The cleaner couldn't be contacted and so the owner cleaned the room themselves and left a bottle of wine as apology, this was roughly 5 hours after we originally arrived. To be honest for the price of the room and aggravation for my birthday stay I would have expected a partial or full refund and not a bottle of wine and apology when we arrived back at the boat. One of our towels left for us had a giant hole in it and the sheet on the bed had a hole from wear in the middle too, this should have been noticed when they were readied. When contacting the host that night regards the towel we were informed the next morning there were spares under the bed. I understand accidents happen and the host was incredibly apologetic when we returned from our evening, but the handling of the issues is another matter and truly was just lacking. I have tried to be fair as I can see it would be a great place to stay for people as ours was very probably a very rare occasion but our stay was in a word poor and the handling of the issues was not very well done to my eyes.
- Glynn (8/5): Close to all the attractions and good transport links - Roof terrace Could have a few more hangers on wall for clothes.
- Rachel (10/5): We’ll never forget our time living in a boathouse for a week, staring at the canal. - The location was amazing! Only a few minutes walk to the tram and metro, which made exploring so convenient. Also plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, if you don’t feel like going to the city central. Less overwhelming and crowded than the city center, so it feels like we got the best of both worlds. So close to Albert Cuyp Market, which was an amazing experience!
Michelle also gave us plenty of things to make our stay more convenient—plenty of body soap, shampoo, hair dryer, and dishes + utensils. She also gave us extra towels and extra supplies are right outside of our room for us to grab anytime. The studio is small so only fits 2 people, and we made the mistake of staying up too late exploring (plus jet lag). We wanted to go up to the roof and hang out at around 3-4am, but didn’t know we couldn’t be there late at night (which is totally understandable). The boathouse also had other boathouse neighbors. We just wish we had more flexibility and time to enjoy it. However, we were informed in a very kind way, and we felt bad about bothering her. Regardless, we got to enjoy it when we could!
- Shona (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (8/5): Good value in Amsterdam, small but well located - The Houseboat was excellently located and easy to find and access. The bed was comfy and the toiletries provided were great including hairdryer, straighteners and hair products. The floor of the room wasn't very clean and I chose to wear flip flops around the room. The shower was a little tricky to use too
- Steven (10/5): Really great experience - Location was great for the conference I was attending, and staying on a houseboat was awesome.
High ceiling made room feel super specious and had everything you need Whilst there was no TV, being on the the canal with the view of the world going by was even better entertainment
- Chloe (8/5): Lovely houseboat with relaxing scenery! - We chose this lovely houseboat for our honeymoon and had a great time! Great location, friendly and attentive host…very happy with everything! Has good amenities. Very nice scenery and it was great experiencing staying in a houseboat, loved the access to the rooftop when it wasn’t raining!
The terrace rooftop would probably be more ideal and lovely in the summer we can imagine!
Small but cosy size, which was expected and was absolutely fine for us. It is handy having a table in the room that can be tucked away, therefore utilising space in the room whilst being able to pull it out to enjoy food. Surprising spacious bathroom and great shower.
Great checkout time meaning no need to entirely rush in the morning of checking out. The host was kind enough to let us check in earlier on day of arrival as there was no one staying the day prior so that was brilliant for us. We went straight to the houseboat after our flight so we were grateful for that.
Great hanging space for clothes for short stays. Very useful. Good size bed right by the window to watch the various birds swimming by!
Thank you for the lovely time! We liked everything however there were certain minor inconveniences. For example, the shower floods even with the rubber stopper…the water went everywhere and didn’t really dry. We went in the winter and wanted a nice hot shower, but the steam set off the fire alarm twice as soon as you opened the door (even with the window open) so had to really rush showers unfortunately so that the steam wouldn’t build up. The place itself was clean but perhaps wasn’t freshened up which we really would have appreciated considering we mentioned it’s our honeymoon and there was a lot of dust in the room. Ideal coffee machine in the room but covered entirely with dust. The floor could have been cleaned a bit better, but this is no fault of the host, perhaps the cleaning just wasn’t done as efficiently previously by the cleaners. We couldn’t find extra bin bags or even any basic cleaning products…so maybe a dustpan and brush would be ideal for longer stays.
- Hughes (7/5): Great!! - The view out the window The cold bathroom and how small it was
- Nadejda (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing experience. Fully accessorised.
- Veska (10/5): Exceptional - Everything you need in the room! Even female products which I've never seen in an apartment. Attention to detail 10/10
- Helen (7/5): Good - Clean, comfortable, well equipped room Was disappointed that the roof terrace was not easily accessible at the time of our visit
- Danilo (8/5): Very good -
- Heather (10/5): Comfortable, unique, on water experience. Perfect for a stay in Amsterdam. - This property is convenient to public transport. Super fun to look out the window and be on the canal! For a small space it is very well thought out. Provides ample hanging storage for coats, towels, clothes. Carryon luggage fits under the bed which saves open space in the room. Has a super comfortable bed! So fun to see the canal boats go by so close to you. Not a fair question as it’s not anything we didn’t like about the property however, When booking it’s hard to tell the size of the room. It is cozy! So expect a space where you want to keep everything organized.
- Jonathan (7/5): Lovely location and concept, let down as room is a little tired . Needs floor rug/mat. - Location fantastic, roof terrace excellent, great toiletry basket and equipment Mattress very uncomfortable and duvet too small. Needs black out blind.
- Christine (10/5): Amsterdam houseboat stay - Sept 2023 - Loved the uniqueness of being on a houseboat. Check-in process was easy and easy to follow directions given if coming from airport. Great WiFi and location close to Metro and museum quarter. Level walk to restaurants. No curtain on window above the bed so room was quite "light" at night due to passing car lights. No where to hang wet towels. We stayed for 5 nights and it was a pretty tight fit for 2 people (we had 2 large suitcases).
- Rikki (8/5): Very good - The area, the houseboat, the owner The neighbours
The bed
There was no where to sit to escape the heat
The room was very hot, the fan supplied did not do anything.
- Svetlana (9/5): Unique accommodation! - This is a gem if you're in Amsterdam! The houseboat is located in a great neighbourhood with lovely atmosphere, perfect if you're looking to see the beauty of Amsterdam without being surrounded by tourists. The room is small but that was expected, just be prepared for it. Good for young couples. Best thing about the houseboat - the terrace! It turned out to be the main attraction in the city for us (: Not really something we didn't like, but be aware this IS a houseboat - so if you're prone to seasickness you might get a bit dizzy/nauseous when staying too long in the houseboat.
Shower was small and the water kept getting into the toilet area, but it was manageable.
- Jake (9/5): Superb -
- Naomi (8/5): Very good - The location was fantastic. Enjoyed eating my breakfast on the roof. Quite small but we were expecting that.
- Carlo (10/5): Unique experience - This place is amazing and unique. Its house boat! When you get up you are welcomed by swans! Its fun watching everyone sailing next to your window
Internet is also provided
The terrace is superb Nothing
- Loristark (10/5): Highly Recommended For the Full AMS Experience - I loved staying on Michele's Houseboat! The location and neighborhood was wonderful. The Houseboat was lots of fun and very comfortable. We appreciated all the thought and effort that went into guests' comfort. The welcome basket, book, design of the room, and bathroom were all great. The roof top patio was relaxing with a great view. I would definitely recommend staying here! The studios are small, so pack lightly!
- Krizia (9/5): Superb -
- Rhiannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sthefanny (10/5): It was the best choice we could have made for our trip to Amsterdam. - Michele is a excellent host. She is attentive and worry about her guest’s.
She was so careful that wrote a notebook with tips about the city, that's helped us so much.
we really enjoyed our staying and we thank you so much for the hospitality. It was the best choice we could have made for our trip to Amsterdam. nothing
- Maureen (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (10/5): fun and unusual place to stay, great neighborhood, quiet - uniqueness, thoughtful touches, location., terrace nothing
- Anna (10/5): Great place, wonderful location, totally recommend! - Awesome location, cozy room. Quite small but definitely well thought out- has absolutely everything you might need for your stay. Great neighborhood, close to public transport plus a great bonus of a unique experience of waking up on the water with ducks and geese swimming by. Totally loved it
- Hsing (9/5): Great experience, would recommend! - The location was perfect, about 15 min walk to the city centre. The boat itself is in a cool part of town that we ended up enjoying more than central Amsterdam. Very clean and cosy atmosphere. Boat does not rock There is no separation from the shower floor and the toilet floor so after shower the floor gets wet, however it drains fairly quick so was not a problem
- Inna (7/5): Vermeer exhibition, not much else to see - No breakfast, but decent coffee and tea in the room. Not enough sugar packets though. Very comfy bed and pillows. Clean and relatively quiet, in spite of "red light district" next block. This place is extremely tiny, no even enough room for 2 people, and very business-like and impersonal manner of the host. Probably OK for young 21 cent. tourists? But for a family, I'd suggest something else! Communication with the host next to none–– no useable feedback on places to eat, the only place referred to was closed for many days, and a result we could not find a place to get decent food at all. Not possible to leave our 2 small carry-ons for a couple of hours on our last day, instead she gave addresses of couple of storage places. As a result, we had to go early to the airport and lost ~3 hours of Amsterdam time that we could have used to enjoy city! Even though we pre-paid for our reservation months in advance, it would have been nice and hardly a huge inconvenience to try to help your guests more in such a situation? Very impersonal business like host. The place is too small and the bathroom is not planned well at all: no shower door, so taking a short shower leaves the whole toilet area and the floor around the tiny room with a pool of water! Takes hours for bathroom fan to dry it! Need to remodel the bathroom/toilet joined area. No sufficient hanging space, except for a decorative but quite uncomfortabe hanger at the entrance, so staying even for 2,5 days was quite crowded, not enough space to hang clothes AND towels! We managed to sit and eat by pulling the table out from a counter, but the only second place to sit was on the bed. But overall, thanks to the clean and comfortable bed and the location near museums, and surprisingly quiet and safe surrounding area, it is OK for a short stay -- for 1 and a half persons?
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madeline (8/5): perfect for our visit! - It was a great location for us, visiting a friend who lived in the area. It was clean and had everything we needed. comfortable bed, tasty coffee, lots of toiletries. It is very small, which is okay for my partner and I who are young and out and about a lot. for someone like my mom and dad it may have been too small.
- Rayrik (8/5): Very good -
- Fruttero (10/5): Our stay was lovely to say the least, Michèle was very easily reachable whenever we needed any help and she was really k -
- Melody (10/5): Exceptional - Super clean, modern and comfortable for one. They even provided a basket with all the accessories a lady might need. Small, but perfect for one person.
- Nick (8/5): Very good - Nice quiet spot
- Caroline (10/5): This stay had it all: charm, location, comfort. I have recommended it to all my friends. - i loved the location, how unique it was, how well-designed, how clean it was! nothing
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ron (9/5): Great alternative accommodation - I travelled here for a week of business with a colleague (he was in neighbouring unit). Kind of an alternative location for a business stay, but it was quite enjoyable. We knew it to be very very small when booking, so no surprises there. It was fitted out nicely with the available space. If the weather is nice, the deck on top is pleasant.
I was hesitant on booking in late autumn, thinking it might be cold and dank. That was not the case though. It heated up quickly and was very comfortable. Even the rainy nights were pleasant with the rain hitting the canal water just outside. Nothing to dislike. If I had to pick something to be improved, the desk chair could be a little more comfortable for spending a couple hours in it.
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Peaceful and quiet location. Place to stay without lots of other people in the accommodation as would be the case in a hotel. View of the canal! Helpful cleaning staff. Sound of rain falling on the canal one night. Nothing much. Just a small pool of water in the bathroom outside the shower area after having a shower that had to be cleaned up. Otherwise, it thoroughly lived up to expectations!
- Anonymous (10/5): Excellent accommodation, cosy and clean - The property was excellent. Exactly as described. It was clean and I really liked the basket filled with shampoo, body wash, make up remover pads, it was a lovely touch. The bed was very comfy and the place was warm and cosy. Straight out the window is the water with ducks. Safe location too. I always put the key in the lock box so I didn’t have to worry about carrying it with me. The roof terrace was why I booked this place and it didn’t disappoint. Great for having a few drinks in the evening. Highly recommend! Nothing, wished I stayed longer!
- Catarina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Estera (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location; nice and very helpful host; small but cosy apartment, fully equipped; lovely rooftop terrase
- Linda (10/5): It was a fabulous and unique place to stay. - It was well supplied with all the items a traveler would need. It was a wonderful location. No place to gather if raining.
