Guest Reviews
- Connie (10/5): Quiet, clean and convenient location. - Very quiet location. Convenient for walking into the city center or to the train. Excellent communication by the host. Steep narrow stairs to take your luggage down to the apartment. Be mindful if you don't have the strength to manage it. No real food or coffee shops nearby. 10 minutes walk is closest.
- Guest (9/5): Cozy and comfortabel stay! - The property was very cozy and comfortable. It was really clean and well equipped. Facilities and location were also perfect. The host is very friendly as well. Property was in the basement and the staircase going down wasn’t great especially for someone who is carrying big luggage bags. Cleanliness could be improved just a bit as we could see cobwebs here and there, otherwise it was great.
- De Neve (8/5): Cozy and quiet stay - Quiet room. Comfortable bed. Responsive host. The bathroom could use a deep clean, shower head and outside of shower had some grime.

- Peter (9/5): - Clean, quiet, comfortable and spacious. Very convenient to restaurants and museums and lots of tram and bus connections nearby. Apartment is below street level which was unexpected, but is still light and airy. No kitchen really. Just fridge with kettle and coffee maker on top. Microwave would have been great as we could have purchased Pre-prepared meals from local supermarket. Luckily we bought our own breakfast bowls, as only plates provided. A shelf in the shower would also help with a place to keep soap, shampoo etc.

- guido (10/5): Great choice - Creat Location! Calm but at the same time right in the centre. Super spacious and very comfortable. Great value for money!
- Andrew (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay and the host Jan was very nice and helpful - Location was good - an easy walk into Amsterdam centre. Wasn’t aware it was a basement apartment although this didn’t bother us too much, however, the steps down to the accommodation were very narrow and steep. It would be helpful for this to be stated on the accommodation details. The water basin in the toilet did not work and the basin plug in the bathroom next to the toilet was broken so could not fill with water. But it didn’t stop us from enjoying the apartment 😀

- Lilla (8/5): - sehr gute Lage
- Natasha (9/5): Good resting base for 4 days stay - Good communication from host from point of booking to check out. Room was great size with super comfy bed and good shower and toilet facilities. Room also had a good size fridge which was useful for 4 night self catered stay. TV had plenty of channels and access to netflix, Disney etc if you have an account to log in on. Location was quiet with quick access to good supermarket at one end of the street and a nice coffee shop at the other, both a couple of minutes walk. Easy walking routes to Liedsplaine, and multiple tram stops nearby. Good spot for 4 days exploring.

- Zoe (10/5): - We had a lovely one night stay here. Clear instructions prior to arrival and the room was lovely and warm for when we arrived. Super clean and spacious and it had everything we needed. Close and easy enough to walk to centre and to enjoy the canals along the way. Would highly recommend.
- BarryG69 (10/5): - Just the perfect place to stay close enough to the city but far enough away to enjoy N/a
- Beáta (8/5): -
- Timothy (8/5): A spacious, quiet and comfortable room offered by a most welcoming host at a great location. - Easy check-in. Spacious and quiet room. Cleanliness. Modern bathroom/toilet. Great location. Most attentive host. The room is meant for eating outdoors; large breakfast can be a creative challenge.
- alice (7/5): Nice accommodation for a sort stay - Space was good and nice
Clean
Facilities was good ie umbrella , steamer , hair dryer , tv- Netflix
When it was cold its was nice and warm just what we needed after being out all day in the rain especially The bed was comfortable but the pillows was just not right. If you had 2 it’s was uncomfortable but just having just 1 was not enough so there wasn’t nothing in the middle and me and my partner being struggle sleepers we didn’t have good sleep.
The floor wasn’t comfortable only on the rug so maybe more rugs or get a bigger on as no socks on was not comfortable

- Sean (7/5): all in all a pleasant stay in a great locarion - spacious calm room very clean and great decor bed was VERY soft.... could be better. Soundproofing .... ahem no, i heard clearly the cars outside
- Mihaela (10/5): excelent -
- Briony (10/5): Lovely apartment in a lovely area - Very clean and updated, close to the centre if you don’t mind 20/30mjns walk but only 5 mins from a tram too. Felt like a safe area to stay in. Host very informative and checked in throughout the stay!
- Adam (10/5): Perfect and local place to stay for a city visit - Comfy, cozy and spacious The pillar blocked the tv a little and it was a bit far away from the bed but that wasn’t a problem as we hardly used it.
- Sutherland (8/5): very good value for the money - good
- Isobel (9/5): - It was a very clean and spacious room. The location was very good, close to main attractions in the city. The owners/hosts were quick to respond to messages and good communication.
- scott (9/5): Excellent location to travel around the city by foot. Our host Jan was exceptional. - Location was great, you could walk everywhere. A lot of street noise. I kept thinking the windows were open but they weren’t.
- Garza Aguerri (6/5): -
- Teddy (10/5): Very good - comfy bed. great room. great bathroom
- Tuana (10/5): -
- mark (1/5): - It was double booked so when we arrived some one stuff there and we needed to find anorher place at 11 pm See above
- Manon (10/5): -
- Emma (1/5): Bad -
- Szücs (7/5): Good -
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (3/5): Poor -
- Lauren (8/5): I love Amsterdam so I’m just glad I spend more time out than in & the room was clean and comfy. - I liked the location as it was easy to get to everywhere I needed to. I did message the host explaining that the tv wouldn’t work atall as it could not find any channels .. also with it being advertised as a apartment I expected there to be some cooking facilities or something but it was just a kettle ontop of a fridge which was quite disappointing and it was cold
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Cleanliness of the apartment. Very good shower and comfortable and clean bed and comfortable sitting area and quiet accomodation too. Also close to the centre too within walking distance and tram and bus stops close by. We were only given WiFi on Day 3. No remote for the T.V. No plates, bowls, forks or teaspoons and no pick up at the airport by taxi as arranged by the owner. The towel rail didn't heat to dry the towels.
- Borja (1/5): Unacceptable accommodation, a painted dungeon - Absolutely nothing, a dungeon ! A painter cellar, hardly Amy natural light, simply a dusgrace Highly unprofessional behaviour by the host. We left 3 calls and two voicemails on the answering machine, 5 days later still no attempt to contact us.
Unacceptable accommodation, nit a student would stay there for 3 nights.
A painted cellar with a bed amd two chairs.
Broken curtain rail hanging dangling down, without curtain.
Filcy inside the wardrobe.
Wide refused to stay there, left the place after 20 minutes, simply a disgrace !!!
W
Should NOT be offered to visitors, tourists etc
- Tina (5/5): Passable - Clean. Bed was comfy. Only 1small cup in property and no bowls for cereal. I did request this the morning after our arrival but still waiting for reply. We couldn't flush toilet paper, we found instructions about this on inside of wardrobe, no instructions for a emergency exit. No mattress or pillow protectors.
- Aquino (5/5): Meh - Sink was blocked and drained incredibly slow, just watching dirt float around. No ventilation. Bed is not double, just two singles put together. Even the duvets are separate. No blinds. No tv remote. Poor communication from host. Pillows were dirty and stained. Shower was decent though. And good location.
- Elena (5/5): Passable - Location is a huge bonus of this apartment. Pretty much everything is walkable. Heaters were great, nice and clean shower and toilet and coffee machine. Firstly, the bed, beddings, pillows and cushions. It's not a double bed, it's two single mattresses put together that constantly move apart and it's impossible to sleep without falling in the middle. Pillows are so flat and you can see inside they are just old and falling apart, no longer firm. No headrest. Basically, this bed shouldn't exist. Secondly, overall layout of the room - there's so much more that can be done to make it "an apartment". Half of the room is just empty but the room is so spacious. And the cleanliness of things like cushions, chairs. Lots of stains etc. For the money that you pay this room in the basement deserves some love to be reinvested in it.
- Eimear (10/5): Relaxing - Nice spacious room, so close to tram stops .
- James (5/5): Crap - Arrived at 10pm no key in the lockbox, no answer from host. Had to walk around and find a hotel that night. Called the host the next day and he didn’t even apologise just said “oh ok I’ll come leave the key now” Poor hosts
- Caucutt (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (2/5): Very poor - The location Upon arrival the place was dirty, there was blood stains on the duvet, the curtains were not attached properly and there was 1 roll of toilet paper. I stayed for 2 nights out of the 5 I had booked and then left and stayed somewhere else as it was not appropriate for people to stay there.
- Waldemar (8/5): Very good -
- George (8/5): Was a nice place to stay for a couple - Good location The tv didn’t work
- Tatjana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alessio (4/5): Disappointing - Great location, large bathroom, wardrobe, hairdryer, mini fridge. There was no hot water on the second and third night of our stay even when we had to reset the boiler and turned it off an on again as per host’s instructions. The water was freezing cold when showering, not ideal after long days of walking in the wind and rain. We also contacted the host but we felt there was very little effort put in to resolve the issue.
- Nadiia (2/5): Not as expected - New bathroom renovation(but the water in the sink did not drain well )
-Not so far from the city center
-Spacious Location of the room itself(it is not the ground level, but "underground" basement level
-A lot of moth
-Cold and dampness even in the early autumn(heater was not working(in the bathroom and in the room))
-Air conditioning was not working so the dampness was even worse
-Location of chargers was not very logical
-No iron
-TV was not working (there was no signal)
Not minus, but a suggestion — a full kitchen would be a great way to improve the stay
-Stairs was narrow and steep(but it is more likely the problem of old buildings than the appartement itself)
- Taras (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivia (8/5): Enjoyable and easy - Location was great. Shower was really nice. Had everything I needed. Room would get humid due too poor airflow. But not really something that I have a huge complaint about.
- Kristin (1/5): Damp cellar bedroom, without much day-light; no internet. - I was given the wrong code. Upon arrival I had to call the owner. He gave another code. No internet; double bed consisting of 2 single mattresses, uneven in height and quality; spider on the bed; hardly day light; TV, but no remote; noise from the neighbouring room.
- Ollie (7/5): Good -
- Mina (6/5): Good experience. - perfect location, close to major attractions, restaurants, and shops. The apartment was clean and had a cozy, modern decor. The bed was very comfortable and we had fast Wi-Fi and. Very responsive and helpful host, providing clear instructions for check-in and check-out and answering messages and phone calls quickly. Additionally, there was almost no natural light and there were so many insects and spiders because there was no AC, which means the window needed to be open. No windows or AC in the restroom either. In my opinion there is not enough kitchen equipment and is a bit overpriced for the facilities. The stairs were really steep which made it difficult to transport our suitcase.
- Steven (3/5): Spacious apartment with no amenities - It was very spacious and clean Lack of amenities, only 2 towels for 3 nights for 2 people, no soap or shampoo, the bathrooms sink wasn't working, the sink that did work had a blocked drain, it didn't appear on maps and that wasn't said in the description
- Scott (8/5): Enjoyed Amsterdam. - Clean and good location . Didn’t know it was in a basement it had very poor ventilation due to the windows only able to open slightly. Couldn’t dry wet towels and they started to smell being wet . Stairs very steep to get luggage into room .
- Jerid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judy (8/5): Nice place in a good location but owner need to be more responsive - Great location, clean and tidy TV didn’t work and although I connected the manager on 2 occasions it wasn’t fixed
- Liberopoulos (7/5): Good - Free coffee machine with capsules and all, clean and spacious room. The room eventually didn't have internet access as there was an issue with it and unfortunately the host wasn't very helpful with it so we just left it at it doesn't work. The room was nice but the mattress felt like sinking to the sides a lot making it uncomfortable during the night, that's probably because the bed was consisted of 2 different mattresses.
- Jack (7/5): Decent value for money, not perfect - Location and ease of access Some aspects in poor condition
- Jane (4/5): Be aware. - The decpr is fine. The apartment was clean. The bathroom was nice. I did not know the apartment was underground. The ‘manager’ Patrick, could not have cared less about complaints he received from both apartment tenants. He did not bother to respond to WhatsApp messages and I eventually realised that he was useless and stopped trying to contact him. The radiator broke on day two of my five night stay so I had no heat and soggy, wet towels for three days. The beds, pushed together, were uneven heights. There were thin summer duvets, definitely not warm enough for the weather with no heating in the room.
- Nocola (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kimberley (6/5): Pleasant - The location was great. The hairdryer was broken, when I contacted the staff they were not very helpful.
The apartment didn't have much natural light.
- Mariana (1/5): Bad -
- Vernnike (10/5): Excellent acomadation close to the city Center - Amazing location 30 min walk from dam central There was a kettle, would of appreciated something like a toaster for breakfast or even some bowls to put cerial in, very minimal
- Laurie (6/5): Pleasant - Very good location
Spacious room with good shower Bed was awful,
Worst two nights sleep I've ever had
- Carlos (7/5): Good -
- Stephania (7/5): Good - Location It had dirty tableware and moths
- Bronwyn (4/5): Not as advertised. Would only recommend to young adults. - Spacious Narrow steep staircase. Freezing cold on arrival. TV did not work at all during our stay. You needed to climb a ladder to close the curtains. A pair of female underwear left in bathroom. New liquid soap didn’t pump.
Very bad communication from host.
- Adrian (4/5): Cold basement flat with uncomfortable bed. Used toilet paper must be put in a bin. Good location. - The location and size of the room The owner asked us to call him upon arrival to confirm that we had arrived (we had previously given a very close approximation of our actual arrival time). When we called, there was no answer. There was no call back, so we called again later. This time he answered, we told him during this call that there was no remote for the TV and so we could not turn it on. He said he would look at getting one the following day (Friday). By the time we checked-out (Sunday) we had had no further contact from the owner, so the TV was useless. It is a basement flat with a high level window at the rear, so is pretty dark. The central heating must be controlled from outside the apartment and is set on a timer; when we were there it was March and it was cold outside and whenever the heating was not on the apartment was cold too. The beds appear to be two small single beds pushed together and are very soft and uncomfortable. Perhaps the worst thing was that there is a sign in the toilet saying that there is a fine of 500 euros for putting paper down the toilet as it is operated by a pump and paper etc. will block it, there is a very small bin for putting used toilet paper in - quite gross!
- Jenya (9/5): Superb -
- Kristýna (7/5): Good place to stay - Good location, near city centre, clean. Really uncomfortable bed.
- Miguel (5/5): Passable - There was not a single glass or cup, no microwave… conditioner
- Alnuaimi (3/5): Not bad - Quite Area, easy to reach out to the staff, very helpful and provides clear guidance. 1- location is bit far away from everything prepare your walking shoes
2- you need to be aware of the narrow starecase with your luggage
Msg to the owner
- the room furniture and appliances need serious maintenance or replacement, the beds were awful, 2 single beds connected one is higher than the other. The water boiler (kettle) it had rusty edges and dirt.
- it would be nice to have bit colourful walls or atleast paint and nice lighting to give a cozy mood in the room, plain white walls with scratches around not good.
- Konstantinos (5/5): Passable -
- Daniela (10/5): Exceptional - Great location! Good communication with the owners. Had everything we needed We stayed in the lower level apartment which Had black mould around the windows
- Allen (2/5): Disappointed - Clean and tidy It was advertised as having a kitchen, washing machine, and on ground floor. It did not have any of the above very disappointing, to make it worse there was no heating, tried everything to get it to work with minus degrees weather it was freezing in mornings, had to wear a coat to keep warm inside. Only had one cup and wine glass, how does that work for a couple. Made a complaint but nothing was done, we ended up leaving to another hotel
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - Nice open apartment. Clean and warm.
For the price it was as expected. Only fault no tv remote.
- Eva (8/5): Great location, bed needs to be a proper double. - Great location and great shower Heating wasn’t always on and it got very cold at times, also the bed wasn’t a double it was two singles put together which moved around a lot
