Guest Reviews
- Gerlinde (8/5): - Sehr gepflegt, ruhige Lage, sehr netter und fürsorglicher Host. Uns hat rundum alles gefallen!
- Janet (5/5): Despite accommodation problems, we enjoyed Amsterdam, especially our visit to the tulip fields. - Beds were comfy. Property basically furnished. Good shower and useful to have separate toilet. Biggest problem - NO WI-FI. The internet details supplied were not recognised so we had no connection. Proved impossible to connect with the owner.
Window in second bedroom wouldn’t close and it was very windy weather, so the room was cold and wind blew across the bed all night. It also meant that the doors kept banging so we had to block them with shoes!
Bedside table had a lamp, but nowhere to plug it in.
2 mugs supplied for hot drinks, but 1 didn’t have a handle!
Stairs very steep and dark. Not suitable for anyone with a disability.
Not easy access to main town as it is at least 2 tram rides. We used No.19 and then the metro, so buy GVB ticket for duration of your stay.
- Louis (10/5): Peaceful. - Very clean, great area and extremely comfy beds with a lovely view. Maybe it could have had a tv but we weren’t too bothered that it didn’t have one.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Fantastic stay, comfy and attractive apartment. Lots of great amenities close by and short journey into centre. - Light and airy Top Floor property which could limit accessibility.
- Jones (10/5): - Peaceful, comfortable, great location and neighbourhood- close to city centre
- Alexandru (10/5): -
- Rob (8/5): Really enjoyed the stay! The location is excellent with great transport links and amenities. - Location - enjoyed being in a neighborhood rather than the city centre
Good location for facilitieds such as tram and amenities
Shower room and separate toilet was good also I am not sure it says in the description or whether it is my misunderstanding but an actual commnual space would have topped off the stay
Stairs are steep to the bedrooms
- ISAIA (10/5): - Beautiful place on the top floor of the building on a very quiet neighborhood. We totally loved our stay and the host was very helpful every time we needed him . Totally recommend it! A second pair of keys would be nice to have.
- Andrew (10/5): Great stay, host was always on hand with any queries and check in and process was easy - Great location and all you need for a quick visit Would of liked a couple of comfy chairs rather the small table

- Marijke (7/5): A lovely flat in a beautiful area, lots of steep stairs to get there. - Flat itself was beautiful. A lovely area, host very helpful. Easy to get into central city, good tram links. Lovely park nearby and loads of good restaurants. It would have been helpful to be warned about the amount of stairs to access the property. Two women over 70 found it very difficult! Entrance and stairs were not at all inviting, staircase dark in places and bannister did not feel safe. It was difficult only having one set of keys.
- Michael (8/5): - It was close to a tramlines which goes to Sloterdijk station where you can get a train to the airport at Schipol and Haarlem. Also there are at least 3 supermarkets and several takeaway food shops along this street. Apartment is on the 3rd and top floor with no lift.
Für schnelle kleine Sachen also ausreichend.

- Gillian (10/5): Beautiful apartment in the perfect location for a special break away with my daughter - Really beautiful apartment, so quiet and comfortable. Our host was really welcoming and helpful. We will come back again when we come back to Amsterdam again.
- Amedeo (9/5): - Really good location. Nice and safe neighbourhood and close to everything. Only 15 min by tram from the center. Clean and nice. No kitchen in the flat.
Will def come back here if available next time
- Teodora (8/5): If you are ok with long walks and small spaces and do not have much luggage, it is a good choice - Brian, the host, was very nice and provided all the info we needed to get in and use the facilities. The apartment was clean and had the minimal requirements, as advertised. The neighborhood is nice, peaceful, with nice places to grab a bite or a coffee. The street the apartment is located on was quite lovely in October, with colorful leaves and beautiful golden light.
The coffee machine and kettle were nice to have around and having shops really close by made it easy to get some tea. The toilet and bathroom are in separate rooms and the sink next to the toilet is tiny, I could barely wash my hands. No space to hang a towel next to it, so your options are to get out of the toilet with either dirty hands or wet hands. One of the rooms is really small, barely space to move around. It also has only one socket, which is occupied by the small (and rather noisy) fridge. There is a reading lamp next to the bed, but no socket to plug it into.
We luckily had small suitcases, but for anyone who stays longer and has a larger suitcase, getting in the apartment would be a problem because of how narrow the hallway and the staircase are. I understand that this is the situation, but maybe this should be presented in a clearer way in the apartment presentation.
The ”perfect location” label is debatable, as the museums and city center are 45-60 minutes walk or more.
- Melanie (4/5): Clean & neat but extremely small. - Clean & neat. Great communication with the host. Good location. Extremely small. Smelt of stale smoke or weed. Very challenging steep stairs to the top floor (we've stayed in other places 3 floors up, lugging suitcases, so it's not unfamiliar). We found it so small & the smell so bad we actually left within half an hour & found other accommodation (& paid more money). Maybe I should've checked the finer details but this place was not for us. Others might find it suitable enough (students etc).

- Davide (9/5): Very good solution - Excellent location, out of the noise and the crowd of the city center, but still near enough to allow us to reach the center by public transport in a short time. In the area around the house there is plenty of restaurants, bars, groceries and whatever you need. The apartment is nice and very clean, ideal for short stays. The host is welcoming and super kind, and contacting him is super easy. Definitely too expensive, but aligned with other housing solutions nearby, during our rental period: everything in Amsterdam is insanely expensive, at least during Summer.
- muriel (10/5): Très agréable. - Un endroit certes excentré mais très facilement relié au centre et avec à proximité des commerces et des restaurants. Ras
- Natasha (8/5): Bright and comfortable apartment - Lovely, light and clean apartment
Very good neighbourhood
Comfortable and stylish No kitchen or living room, so washing up & filling the kettle was difficult, Nowhere to sit
Very steep steps up to apartment, not good if physically challenged
- Browne (7/5): Good -
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - It was quiet Too far away from transport, communication was good until you asked for anything, then you get ignored. Check out 11am asked to leave bag until airport pickup at 1pm then ignored untill after check out and told to use lockers at Amsterdam central when pick up was from apartment. Not flexible at all.
- Chris (8/5): Perfect for what we needed - Location N/A
- Helen (8/5): Ideal location perfect for seeing Amsterdam - This is a really good small apartment perfect for a short stay. The location was ideal. It was very easy to get into central Amsterdam but with shopping and dining options just a short walk away. The host was exceptional..really friendly and very genuine both before and during the stay. It would have been nice to have a more comfortable seating area in the large bedroom as there is no living room. What is provided is certainly adequate but just not quite as relaxing as a soft chair or small sofa. Really the only point to raise and more of a nice to have than a criticism of the apartment
- Jayne (10/5): easy lock up and go. we loved it - Trendy 2 bed was tiny but beautiful
- Luke (8/5): Very good - Good location, nice rooms, clean, and comfortable bed. No kitchen, but there was cutlery, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Carlea (7/5): Good - Nice, bright comfortable beds. Missed the fact there was no kitchen.
- Ara (8/5): Very good - Clean and modern space. Up the top of a lot of stairs, but this is common in amsterdam.
- Lauren (8/5): Great location, comfortable & lovely owner! - Great location! Clean, airy apartment with bright windows and comfortable space. We didn’t have any milk for the coffee pods (but unsure if this is typical of Amsterdam). Myrthe was so helpful and kind! The apartment was quiet at night, blinds darkened the room for sleeping, and beds were comfortable. Bonus points with an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, as well as usb sockets in both rooms! We had a great time. Thank you so much! The entrance and stairway up to the apartment is steep as many have mentioned (was fine for us). However, it seemed unkept and smelt as we walked up to the apartment (shared areas). It was quite off putting at first but the apartment itself was lovely. Some marks and scuffs around the apartment and dirty bedside table but no problem to wipe down, didn’t bother us at all. The bathroom flooded but I notified Myrthe of this and apologies given, likely due to a fault with the plumbing. Everything was fine for our stay, thank you Myrthe!
- Milos (9/5): Superb -
- Dahir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marta (9/5): Great rooms and host - Really clean and modern. The host was really nice and helpful. Even tho is a bit far from the center it’s close to the Tram, 4 min walking. The location is very quiet The location, was a bit far from the center, around 30 min with the tram+metro.
The stairs are a bit steep, not easy if you have big luggage
- Albena (10/5): Exceptional -
- A(nother) (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yevhen (10/5): Exceptional - nice and clean apartment, two separate rooms - nice to have to fit two couples. Self check-in with a keybox. The apartment is a bit small, but that’s not a big deal. Also the soundproofing is not to good, and the doors are a bit noisy when you close them.
- Crane (10/5): Overall wonderful. Would definitely stay again - Clean, location, comfortable beds, wonderful light Stairs up and down are a little nerve wracking. The description said body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion would be provided. Only shampoo and body wash were provided.
- Grigor (8/5): Nice and cozy authentic apartment - The location and the design of the apartment was the reason we chose it. We really liked it.
The ceiling windows were awesome. It is on the 4th floor of the building with a shared entrance and a very narrow wooden staircase that is both hard to walk on and makes noises.
The owner warned us in the messages to be mindful of neighbours which made us be super thoughtful of not making any noise (although doors and the floor were making a lot of noise) thus we could not really relax
- Yew (7/5): Good - Excellent location, 5 minutes walk to Hogweg tram stop, 15 minutes walk to Muiderpoort train station, 19 minutes walk to Amstelstation.
A few supermarket close by. Lots of eatery choices.
A laundromat is located nearby, approx 3 to 4 minutes walk.
Shower pressure was great. Bed mattress was comfy. Property was presented in a clean condition. The few flights of staircase may be a challenge for people with mobility issue or heavy, bulky luggage.
We had 4 devices between 4 people, and only 1 person's device could be connected while the other 3 had no luck connecting to it throughout the whole stay.
It would be ideal to have the fridge next to the coffee stand/shelf instead of being in the other room, making it difficult to excess, due to limited space.
The pillows provided were too soft.
We were very unfortunate to have a power outage at 5.20am (about 40 minutes before our check out), which was still quite dark. The host was notified but was unable to action anything due to the timing of notice.
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrīcija (9/5): Superb -
- Rafal (9/5): Good small apt. for couple od days away like city tour. We were happy to stay there. Recommended! - Good and fast communication with the host. The lady was very helpful answering quickly our questions.
- Aleksandr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johnathan (8/5): Myrthe was a great host! Responded very quickly, and was very accommodating to our needs/requests. Check-in instruct - The apartment was very clean and well located, great value for money. It is exactly the same as shown in the pictures and within walking distances to various attractions and transport. We could not have asked for a better location. No dislike about the property, but it was a challenge getting the suitcases up the staircase. It was narrow and steep but achievable.
- Bongani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (7/5): Good -
- James (7/5): dodgy stairs, nice small apartment, not exceptionally well managed. - location was great 15 minutes on tram 19 to Amsterdam CBD edge or Rijksmuseum
beds were comfortable and apartment itself clean, once it was cleaned.. entry of stairs is a work site, stairs challenging if you have large suitcase
we arrived and climbed up the stairs at check in to find apartment looked like someone still living there. Beds slept in rubbish everywhere, toilet a mess ….
cleaner hadn’t been and we had to wait two hours to access property fully after contacting owner
when we asked if we could check out two hours later due to delayed
flight was told no but you can leave your bags as cleaner needs to come
we left our bags came back and guess what no cleaner had been when we returned …. born disappointed to be honest.
- Patricia (10/5): after a busy day in the city, a perfect place to unwind and have a comfortable and peaceful night - beautiful airy and bright apartment on a very quiet street. Everything you need is close by, transport, restaurants and shops. the apartment is very clean and has all the equipment you need. some people might have a problem with the number of steep stairs leading to the top floor.
- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Jessenia (10/5): Cozy apartment perfect for short stays - the location is slightly out of the main city center but 15 min of drive away, in a very nice and residential area. the apartment is at the top floor too many tiny stairs, but this is how Amsterdam houses are built so.
- Mammen (8/5): Very good - The place was well located and comfy. The hosts provided clear instructions about how to collect the keys and as a bonus suggested great places to eat nearby.
- Pat (7/5): Good - Nice accommodation, lovely area. But @50 minutes walk from centre of town. Plenty to do locally from bakery to cafe & coffeeshop. If yohr up fir hiring a bike it's a 15 minute cycle Small table for two in one of the rooms and no facilities other than a kettle and a small fridge. Both double beds were two single mattresses on top (understandable when you see the stairs) but not the best either. Pillows were non existent.
