Guest Reviews
- Philip (8/5): - Very good location. Beds comfortable. Interesting spiral staircase down to the lower bedroom - a bit of a challenge with a case!
- Dushko (9/5): Unique apartment in Rome - Great location, unique apartment, host was always ready to assist us.
- Justyna (9/5): Zwiedziłam dokładnie największe atrakcje Rzymu codziennie oglądałam zachód słońca nad Koloseum i Forum Romanum. - Lokalizacja rewelacyjna wszędzie blisko, można spacerować od jednego zabytku do drugiego., podziwiać Rzym nocą.
- Lenka (10/5): Majitel naprosto úžasný. Lokalita skvělá. -
- Teresa (9/5): Great stay and helpful staff. - Lovely quirky apartment. Great location for historic sites and public transport. Basement room a little musty but the de-humidifier really helped during the day.
- Jere (9/5): -
- rodrigo (8/5): -
- Arne Ver (9/5): -
- Xarli (5/5): - Ubicación. Instalaciones.
Apartamento con mucha humedad.
Aparatos muy ruidosos.(deshumificador.)
Mosquitos de humedad .
Instalaciones deterioradas.
Acceso habitación inferior dificultosa.
- Anikiej (10/5): - Lokalizacja super, czysto.
- Helen and Glenn (8/5): -
- Cathrine (9/5): An appartment with personality and a perfect location - Beautiful, quirky appartment. Perfect location right next to Foro Romano. Easy walking distance to everything like Pantheon , Piazza Navona ,Colosseum, Via Corso and Trastevere.
Calm neighbourhood, with the loveliest restaurant right outside and next to it a nice place to drink your morning coffee. We absolutely loved it there!
Comfortable beds.
Nice bathroom upstairs.
Spacious and comfortable appartment for 3 people. The toilet downstairs is not closed off from the rest of the room, so there's no privacy .The room is thus primarily for 1 person. A bit damp downstairs , but not too bothering.
- Melissa (6/5): Top location, good for 2 people - The location is great! I also loved that everything you need is there: from a nice shower (upstairs) and Nespresso coffee machine (with yummy cups) to towels and basics such as pepper & salt. The host gives very clear instructions and shows Italian hospitality. The second room, down in the basement, smelled too "moist". Since it did not have any windows, me and my friend ended up sharing a bed on the base floor. In the end, we could have spent less and have only 1 bed. It was also quite dark in the kitchen and living room area. The TV didn't have any stations or streaming subscription.
- Ana (10/5): - A localização é excelente.
- Carlo (9/5): Un vrai Domus Aurea - Étonnant et surprenant !!! Aucun remarque particulière
- Alan (1/5): Frustrating! - Definitely not enough for 4 people, second room is on the basement with no ventilation, not accessible for people with mobility issues, musty smell and definitely with no fire safety standers. Do not book this for 4 people. Upstairs bedroom is ok, enough for 2 people. This property should not be allowed to classify the basement as a room. Had to book another place for 2 people as we could not stay on the basement. Fighting for a half refund at least, no success so far!
- Gaynor (9/5): The apartment wrapped me up & submerged me in an authentic Italian experience with the wonderful local people lendin - Fantastic location - 5 min walk to The Forum, 15 min walk to The Colosseum. 30 second walk to great restaurant & bar. The property was not perfect, there were hiccups with the washing machine, but it didn’t matter, because it had so many other things that more than made up for the imperfections.
- Yelsew (10/5): Exceptional - The location is fabulous. A little piece of Rome on your doorstep with a cafe restaurants and a deli all used by locals, Surrounded by the Forum and Palatine Hill Downstairs was a little bit damp
- Shelli (6/5): Pleasant - Location
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and beautiful apartment. Musty smell, especially in the lower bedroom where there was no window.
- Pamela (8/5): Great location - The location was great! The basement was musty and flies.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing. There are lots of restaurants in the area. The property has a lovely Italian charm. Quiet at night made for a nice sleeping atmosphere. The bus is steps away down on the main street. We found that buying a metro pass was useful as it worked for the buses, too.
- Burak (5/5): Great location. Definitely should not have been listed for 4 guests. Basement setup is a disaster. - Location is fantastic. Important tourist attractions are just round the corner withing walking distance. Good bars around to go grab a breakfast and decent restaurants as well. Clean facilities, comfy beds. This property should not be listed for 4 guests. The basement which was converted to a living space is below standards. You go down a basement more than 3 meters high. It's not a good ventilated space. There is space heating but also a chimney kind of structure which lets cold airflow in all night long and makes the room cold as the central heating switches off at some point. Also, as someone working in the subject, I'm pretty sure that basement setup does not comply with fire safety regulations. I will make an inspection request for a check by building code authorities. It's a tricky spiral staircase which would impede any easy escape from the room in case of an emergency, such as a fire. So we saw a big safety risk. Entrance floor was very good. So I suggest not to book this property for more than 2 people since that basement is very uncomfortable and there is safety risk.
- Catharina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (7/5): Good - Location, location, location! Walking distance to all the big ticket items and to some lovely restaurants. Second room downstairs was quite damp and musty. The airconditioner didn't work. Some of the cutlery was dirty in the kitchen drawer. The pillows in the second bedroom were not the best either.
- Paul (9/5): Quirky comfortble apartment close to bars, restaurant and grocery store. Walk to Colosseum and Forum - The location was great. Close to a local Bar, Restaurant and Grocery store. Good walk ,via Circus Maximus, to The Colesseum and Forum areas. Comunication with the host was good, via whatsapp messages. Apartment was clean, quiet an comfortably furnished. Rather quirky steep sprial staircase to lower bedroom. Would not recommend for elderly persons. Vincenzo, local grocer, is expert in wine. Difficult to locate. Would reommend a street view image prior to arriving. Local barkeep help us locate the front door. No one greeted us, however were lucky front door was actually unlocked. Spiral staircase narrow and steep. Could not get luggage downstairs.
- Dila (7/5): Good - Location, near to Trastevere
Kettle, coffe machine, stove, washing machine, iron. There was everything you could need on holiday. The house, especially the room downstairs, was stuffy and smelled musty. Some areas had not been cleaned well; spider webs, black mold stains, etc.
- Warren (8/5): Nice facility and excellent location.i’m - LOCATION was excellent
- Eugene (8/5): It was comfortable and enjoyable despite the hot weather. - It was clean and well equipped. Also a good location for sight seeing. We were unable to get the air conditioner to work which made the apartment very hot.
- Baghoumian (10/5): Very Rome vibe, clean and good location - The whole room was so clean and beautifully designed. The customer services was amazing and was there to help whenever we needed. The room is close to everything and even has an amazing restaurant right next to it. Highly reccomend
- Sevdiye (7/5): The location of the house is much closer to the travestere area. My friends sleeping on the two-storey lower floor said - Location However, it is very difficult to contact the owner. He did not call back.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (7/5): Good clean apartment in a good location. Can easily walk to places of interest and there are plenty of restaurants close - The location was excellent. Very close to the Colosseum. Approx 20-25 min walk to the Trevi Fountain, Vatican took about 40 mins. Accommodation was very clean and we had enough towels/toiletries provided for our stay. We didn’t use anything but the apartment had the kitchen basics such as olive oil etc which was a nice touch if you wanted to cook. The kitchen was nice and had everything you need but again we didn’t use it as we ate out. The coffee machine came with pods which was a nice touch. Both bathrooms were nice and spacious. Personal preference but we would have preferred a sofa area for the evening instead of 4 chairs. The travel kettle wasn’t great.
It didn’t bother us but the spiral staircase was steep and narrow The layout of the apartment meant that the bedrooms are not fully enclosed. The top bedroom is partially partitioned off but the wall isn’t to the ceiling and there is no door. Thus, no bedroom is completely private but this is due to layout of the space. Wasn’t a issue for us but some may not like not having fully enclosed rooms.
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Shelley (7/5): Unwelcoming but great location - I liked the location - close to lots of things to see. Good restaurants right close by. Great coffee/pastry shop just close by. I liked the neighbor apartment owners - They were extremely helpful when we needed any help. There was no one to meet us, show us around or answer any questions when we arrived. Also they had failed to send me an email with the lockbox code to access the key. So we were essentially stuck, because the phone number I had was not answering/working. We went next door to inquire and she and her husband were super helpful. He finally found another phone number for our apartment owner and called him for us to get the code. I never saw anyone or talked to anyone from the property our whole visit. Certainly not a very hands on owner. Additionally you should be advised that the downstairs room is a bit humid/muggy and the spiral stairs to get down there is super small. We had to leave our luggage upstairs. Another note, we were told we could not store our luggage there if we arrived early, but there was a place close by that would keep them for us, for a small fee. When I asked the neighbor owners about that she laughed and said there was no place, but he had probably meant her! Which of course she did for us because she was very sweet. Overall it ended well and the rooms were fine. It just wasn't a welcoming good overall feel and I will most likely stay with the neighbors next time!
- Janine (9/5): Fantastic- local restaurant and coffee shop great. Walking distance to all the major archaeological attractions - Location was amazing The spiral staircase to 2nd BRM difficult for luggage.
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Melisa (3/5): Poor -
- Rikke (10/5): Exceptional - less than 25 min walk from all the great attractions. very helpfull service from staff. absolutly loved the apartment. so charming!:)
- Shuki (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (5/5): Passable -
- Tareiz (6/5): Pleasant - location .. walls design very hard to find though the address is accurate but the property number can’t be seen especially at night .. no windows in the downstairs room. a bit of rankness scent
- G. (1/5): Bad - Our stay in this apartment was awful. No one ever informed us that one of the rooms is in the basement, where there was no wifi connection, no signal for our phones, no windows and most importantly an unbearable smell was coming out of the bathroom which didn't let us sleep at all during the night. No extra sheets were given to us and we were asked to leave half an hour earlier by the owner via email at 2 o'clock at night the day before our departure. I would never recommend it to anyone
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marthese (7/5): Great location but not comfortable. - Location is perfect. Easy access to coffee shop for breakfast, bus stop, walking distance to centre. The apartment has two double beds but:
1. There is no privacy at all. It’s like a big open plan divided into cubicles.
2. Second bedroom is underground. You have to go down an uncomfortable spiral staircase. The room has no windows. Our friend felt claustrophobic most of the time. The bathroom is in the room itself and you can see the person showering. From the top of the staircase you can see the bed.
3. There is only a portable AC unit on the first floor which makes an annoying noise. I guess in summer it is much warmer and cannot do without the AC so you have to bear the noise and it does not cool the underground bedroom.
4. There is a tv but seating area is made of 4 armchairs. A nice sofa would have done a better job.
5. For the price we paid it could have been cleaner. You could see the gathered dust at the corners on the floor.
- Ruth (8/5): We had a really good time and we would stay again. - Location was excellent. Kitchen well equipped. Second bathroom. Shop and restaurants right by front door. Property was very hot. Spiral staircase was a bit challenging. Quite noisy during night.
- Alison (7/5): Great location - Great location, good size room the air con wasn’t working down stairs so was so hot
- Dalip (6/5): Didn’t live up to the reviews or expectations - Kitchen and bathrooms are a good size and work well with all necessities
Host was helpful and arranged for a replacement key we lost and some fans to help with the heat
Good location near the Roman Forum Living area is cramped and right next to the front door meaning you will be sitting in each others way !
A/C is near the front door and the air extraction pipe is connected to the front door, it doesn’t cool the apartment to an acceptable level and it doesn’t even teach the second bedroom on the level below. Also you’ll have to empty the water container once it fills up every 7/8 hours
No ventilation for second bedroom which means you’ll be roasting in there. Also suffers from damp issues which are common in Italy as there is a full time dehumidifier fixed here!
The creaky internal staircase is too narrow for anyone of a large persuasion or anyone who has a disability
Front door lock doesn’t work properly and should really be replaced with a decent lock. We couldn’t leave the apartment on our last evening as we were locked inside!
