- Carl (7/5): Good - Most things. Very nice and clean and quiet. The third bed was too short and very uncomfortable. I would not come back to this place again because of that.
- Stephanie (1/5): Where do we begin........ AVOID IN SUMMER!!!! - The property was aesthetically cute. We arrived in the early evening to enter the apartment which was blistering hot. We placed the aircon on immediately on the highest cold setting and left for dinner in the hope that it would cool down. Upon returning the aircon had provided no relief. As it was late, there was nothing we could do other than a cold shower and to bed. But there was no sleep that occurred..... As we were travelling with a 6 month old we had a thermometer to measure her temperature. We used this to measure the heat surface of our bed and the baby cot (which we had to set up ourselves). The cot read 35degrees Celsius and our bed read 31 degrees Celsius. It was unbearable, uninhabitable and frankly unsafe for our 6 month old. I ended up holding her in my arms and stood in front of the aircon to provide what little relief we could. At 4am we set up a makeshift bed using pillows in front of the aircon to rest (noting the aircon is approx. 8 meters away from the bedroom hence ineffective there). We went meant to stay 5 nights however left after the first night because of this reason. The owner charged us for one night and a cleaning fee despite our night sleeping on the floor. We didn't choose to leave for no reason hence we shouldn't have paid the cleaning fee at a minimum. The owner also accused us of not knowing how to operate a aircon despite my husband and I both being engineers that understand how to operate a household aircon unit.
Other frustrating things, is that the apartment is on the third floor, with no lift access and the stairs being approx. 600mm wide making it impossible to carry large luggage. No coffee pods were provided, despite there being a coffee machine (for the price you pay, a few pods would be nice). Cot was not set up on arrival and no sheets provided.
- Hanne (9/5): Beautiful, well located apartment -
- Aimée (4/5): Beautiful place, bad stay. - Close to everything, great location.
The apartment is beautiful. We didn’t have a great experience at the Celestina House, we kept having power outages. We spent a whole week there and someone didn’t come and fix the problem. The administrator did help out contacting the owner and helped us show how to turn the power back on. But we kept having outages, the cause was the dishwasher and the administrator told us to turn off circuit breaker to the kitchen, so we couldn’t use the kitchen properly. We paid around 1500£ and our compensation was 200£. But the annoying part was not keeping us updated on the situation, so we ourselves needed to keep contacting the owner, they responded the day before we checked out, the communication between us and the owner should have been better, and us as guests shouldn’t fix the problem ourselves, as we did. The person showing us came the day before the checkout day ti look at the problem.
The kids bed is horrible and the kitchen chairs are unstable.
The air conditioning isn’t good and the apartment is humid.
It’s three stairs up, without an elevator. The person who showed us the place didn’t even offer to help with the luggages.
- Noelle (9/5): Superb -
- Natalie (10/5): Roman gem - Great apartment. Very clean, very comfortable. It had everything we needed.
It was close to a metro station (10 minute walk). There was a pharmacy across the street and a grocery store no more than 15 minutes away.
Domitilla was fantastic when we arrived. Very friendly, very helpful.
It was a busy street during the day, but quiet at night.
- Kaitlyn (8/5): Very good - the property was adorable and in a great location a little away from the crowds
- Victoria (9/5): Superb -
- Dayana (10/5): Overall, I lived my apartment and it was a perfect safe, comfortable and spotless place for personal or business travel! - It was perfectly located and and had a lot of sunlight! the mornings were wonderful to just sit by the window. It was a four flight walk-up - with my luggage. I didn’t mind on a daily basis. The challenge was on my last day getting my luggage down. It was still worth it though. It was a small thing but - I felt annoyed that the property did not provide additional toilet paper and paper towels (past the one provided of each). I’ve stayed many different places over the past 15 years in Europe and didn’t experience that. I purchased additional rolls and left them there for others. I also purchased coffee. With that said I do not regret my decision. I wound rent again.
- Despinaa (7/5): Not what expected - Nice decoration. Comfortable mattress (only on the double bed). Nice area next to the Vatican and the castel sant’ angelo. Three floors with a lot of narrow stairs. No elevator. Difficult to ascent with baggage.
The extra bed that is provided for children is extremely uncomfortable even for children.
There is a faint bad smell all over the apartment.
Kitchen chairs not in good condition. One was broken.
Only one blanket available. Had to ask for extra (they gave us). No duvet provided.
Only one big towel per person provided. Had to ask for extra (they gave us).
- Paweł (10/5): We loved our stay! - Excellent location within walking distance to all ancient Rome attractions and Vatican. Dozens of places to eat within 300 meters, at least three convenience stores and the whole area is a shopping paradise.
The apartment is big, clean, stylish, very cozy and fully equipped. Third floor, no elevator!!! And the floors are really, really high. Great exercise, but not for the weak of heart.
Kitchen chairs are stylish but flimsy. One needs to be careful not to break them. Kettle is stylish too but misses the cap and does not turn off automatically.
- Brianna (10/5): Exceptional -
