Guest Reviews
- Johannes (9/5): - Die Dachterrasse mit einem fantastischen Ausblick über Rom war ein absolutes Highlight unseres Aufenthalts.
Die Gastgeberin war außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit.
- Bing (10/5): Very comfortable, and the owner is very nice and thoughtful! - Location is good, facility is good, the owner provided lots of help, amazing! N/A
- Aiarpi (10/5): -
- Koster (7/5): Mooie plek met fantastisch dakterras en zeer vriendelijke verhuurster - Fantastische ligging en erg vriendelijke en behulpzame verhuurster
- Yang (9/5): Spacious Apartment in Central Rome - This Rome apartment has an excellent location – it is next to the famed Spanish Steps in central Rome. The apartment has nice hard-wood floor. There are heating elements through the apartment that are set on timers, which turns on/off at certain time. There is a dishwasher – we did not use it. We used the washing machine – very nice. The kitchen is inside a cabinet in the hallway – very compact with two small burners, a small sink, and a tiny area in between. I have never seen a kitchen like that – small but fully functional (we did not do any cooking to feel if it is working or not). There is also a coffee machine and a microwave and other kitchen essentials. The kitchen has some coffee/tea and cooking spices.
The layout of the apartment is rather interesting. It is on the top floor. From the ground courtyard entrance, one takes an elevator to level 5 (the 6th floor in the US), which has three doors – two doors were for the owner/manager of the apartment; a third door opens to the rooftop balcony. From there, one climbs a set of metal stairs (they look like the emergency evacuation stairs in NYC), walked pass a large open rooftop terrace, which is really really nice with lots of flowers and fruits trees. From the other end of the open terrace, one goes into the building from a small entrance, walked down one floor to the front door of our apartment. Outside of the door of this apartment, there is only one set of stairs leading down to the ground level (no elevator outside our apartment). The owner’s apartment has an internal connection to our apartment, which can be locked from our side. This apartment looked like a sub-division of a once grand top-floor apartment, or this apartment was the semi-connected quarter for the servants. Apart from the need to walk up/down via the rooftop stairs to access the apartment – which means this apartment is not for anyone with mobility issue or joint issue, there were a few small issues. (1) the internet is really really slow. (2) Since the access stairs are in open rooftop, they could be problematic in rainy days. (3) The main bathroom has constant odors – not pleasant. (4) the apartment actually was quite noisy at night and early morning – from down below in the courtyards.

- John (10/5): Brilliant Location Exceptional Helpful Host - Krista our host was so caring well organised gave great recommendations for restaurants even gelato. The apartment is very spacious, full size fridge, kitchenette. The roof top terrace is worth sitting out in the evening you have so many sites to take in. The location is right near the Spanish Steps and easy to walk to the Trevi Fountain, Taxi ranks near and all the up market shops outside your door.
The apartment was safe and Krista was happy to assist no matter the time.
Happy to return and will definitely recommend. Nothing

- Jiayin (10/5): Krista is an outstanding host who keeps the place in excellent condition and is very helpful. -
- HONG (8/5): 房屋位置很好,就在西班牙阶梯附近,闹中取静,完美。 - 房东很热情,详细给我们讲解房屋钥匙使用情况,屋顶花园风景不错,整体非常满意。
- Simon (10/5): Characterful location in a great location - Krista’s apartment is in a wonderful location. The best of Rome is generally within 20-30 minutes walk and with the Spagna metro stop a few minutes away, further away is accessible too. The apartment is compact and I wouldn’t have wanted it any smaller for a family of 4, but it absolutely had everything we needed, and the roof terrace is a wonderful place to be at any time of day or night. Krista is a great host, very generous with her time and has an abundance of local knowledge. The keys and stairs I can imagine being a bit much for some people but for us it all added to the character of our stay in Rome. We loved it and will definitely be back. Thanks Krista! Nothing.
- Dof (10/5): Situation et confort exceptionnels - Situation et confort de l’appartement. Qualité de l’accueil.
- jean-pierre (10/5): -
- Ashish (8/5): Excellent stay to get a real feel of Italy amidst fantastic food options - Location and the hosts.. Wifi could be faster..
- Heier (10/5): Exceptional - The location was fantastic and Krista was great with helping us with directions, good places for food, and attractions nearby.
- Peter (10/5): Immersed in Rome. - We felt immersed in to Roman city life.
in the morning walk to the Trevi fountain, get some fresh bread at the bakery, return home to have breakfast with view on the Vatican.
Add the information about the restaurants, which all were fantastic to visit. We loved it all.
Fantastic accommodation in the centre of Rome, the eternal city. Tip: get a taxi, but make sure the meter is visible and running.
Near the tourist attractions the prices often seem doubled. But two streets further it is always normal again.
- Ranjana (10/5): Brilliant location, metro station very close, but very central location could walk to most places. Krista was very helpf - Amazing location
Had all amenities required
Very comfortable
Krista is an exceptional host
- Risto (10/5): Great spring vacation in a beautiful city. - Very friendly owner, helped us a lot providing much information of the city and its habits. Very good location, from where was possible to walk to many places. Thank you, our family had a wonderful vacation!
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional - The location is excellent A little bit complicated the entrance of apartment from the entrance of the building.
- Jill (10/5): A wonderful four nights on holiday from the U.S. Krista’s hospitality was exceptional and we will definitely come back! - Location!! We had to leave.
- Kathryn (9/5): It was special and memorable! - Didn't have breakfast there. The location was great. Krista was lovely and informative and helpful. The steps going up to the rooftop terrace (in the rain) and the steps from the terrace to the apartment weren't lit at night (so we used our phone flashlight). One day the elevator didn't work, but Krista got it working fairly quickly. Being a senior, I found the steps a bit too much, but it was a lovely place with a beautiful view and everything was available to us.
- Fatimah (4/5): The short-comings were balanced by the central location. - The property is centrally located and you can walk anywhere. The roof terrace was lovely. The elevator did not function after the first day. We had to walk up and down 5 flights. The wifi was not very effective. And one of the beds was unsafe and nothing was done after we reported it.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good - I loved the location, roof top views, and the fact that we stayed at an apartment with a mini kitchen and washing machine. Krista was a good host. She gave us good restaurant and market recommendations and beds were comfortable. We were only a few feet from the Spanish steps and in a central location. When we booked the apartment, I was informed there would be scaffolding up around the building, which I did not mind. However, I did not give it a 10 because the hot water went out on our last two days which made showering before we left difficult. Although it could not be helped, we were not offered a discount or anything for the inconvenience.
Edit: To clarify, we did get a discount ahead of time for the construction, but not for the burst pipe after.
- Sue (8/5): Loved the quriky apartment at the top of the Spanish Steps - Super convenient location and easy to catch a taxi right outside our building. The entrance to the apartment was rather interesting. It took 5 keys an elevator, a walk across our terrace and a trip down a set of stairs to get to the apartment door. My young adult granddaughters got such a kick out of that, that they made a TikToc video that got over a million likes. We giggled every time we went back to the apartment. The terrace was delightful and we enjoyed a bottle of wine and a recap of the day every night. We will remember this apartment as a fun way to stay in Rome The layout was really quirky with very little common living space.
- Aryaman (6/5): Great location, but wouldn’t stay here again. - The location is fabulous. You walk down into piazza Spagnia. From the terrace above the apartment, you can sit and watch the Spanish steps, the hassler hotel and the top of the Mignanelli square sculpture. The host Krista is very warm. The flat is well-stocked The apartment is extremely cramped- I hurt my shin on the bed edge as the space is small. The bathrooms are uncomfortably small. The flat is actually the backside of Krista’s house converted into a guest space. It’s one long corridor with 2 rooms, the kitchen being in the corridor. Getting to the apartment either involves climbing 4 very steep floors, or going around up/down with 4 keys around the building (through the open roof terrace). Additionally, there is hardly a sitting area, except 4 chairs around a small dining table.
- Chris (9/5): Unbeatable location, relaxing atmosphere and views for days! - Can't beat the location - sweeping views of Rome from the rooftop terrace just steps from the Spanish Steps and the Metro station. The host Krista is wonderful - she made our stay easy with a family of four and all our bags. The air conditioning was very helpful as it was a very warm June stretch when we visited. If/when we are back in Rome (guaranteed I guess because we did toss a coin in the Trevi) we will absolutely look to stay here again. To be on the top floor and get all the views that come with that means you do need to climb some steps. But after all the gelato and pasta, it all works together to keep you fit!
- Shannon (10/5): We loved our stay and would definitely come back. - The location was great. It was within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. It was also very easy to walk to many sites. The rooftop terrace was amazing! We loved the views!
The space was clean and orderly and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great and Krista was very informative and helpful.
- Mathew (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location and roof terrace. Krista was a lovely host and very helpful.
- Bernd (10/5): Perfect spot in a prime location - Perfectly central location where everything is in walking distance. The host is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!!!
- Sarah (7/5): Even With Rooftop Terrace Views, It is Not For Me! - The views from the roof terrace is what this place has! The options of accessing the apartment are not for the faith of hearts. You are handed 5 keys. You can climb to the 5th floor (remember, in Europe, the ground floor is Zero.) from the back of the building. The other option is to go through the front door and you will use all 5 keys! You will take the elevator to the 5th floor, climb to the terrace, walk across the terrace then climb down one floor to the apartment. Krista is a very good host. The apartment is very ciean. The rooms are very small and stuffy. One cannot turn on A/C until June so opening the windows will bring in all the noise from the restaurant below and from the garbage trucks.
Do read all the comments which unfortunately, I didn’t! I am sure many people like the apartment but is not for me.
- Jennifer (10/5): Loved it! - Amazing place to stay in Rome. The rooftop terrace was the perfect place to relax when our feet were too tired for sightseeing. Krista went above and beyond as our host, letting us know about a planned rail strike and then booking a driver to get us to the airport instead.
- Deborah (10/5): Very comfortable for a family of four - Location!!
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmel (9/5): We had a fabulous stay! Everything went smoothly. Location was wonderful and the suite was clean and spacious - It was lovely and clean. Very spacious. Great location! Fully stocked. It can get a bit noisy at night!
- Mekhriban (10/5): location is perfect, hosts are nice old spouse. - the apartment was very nice, clean and cozy, all sightseeings are in walking distance, beautiful terrace! it was noisy outside almost whole night and early in the morning, and we did not have a chance to turn on ac, (it was hot as well) in order to close the windows. as by rules lower 30 C degree no chance to turn on Ac in the apartments.
- Vivienne (10/5): Great stay in a great location. - Location was exceptional. Rooftop terrace and views incredible. The apartment was clean and comfortable and our host was very helpful.
- Michael (9/5): This will be our new home when in roma - Location perfect near Spanish ateps. Close taxi service, great hostess and view from terrace Lots of keys
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - good communication with host and well prepared with lots of information on the area. Apartment is very well kept.
- Benedict (9/5): great location, well equipped apartment, helpful landlady - great location, very near to the Spanish steps and close to lots of attractions and metro. apartment is well equipped with everything. landlady Krista was super helpful and helped us a lot during our stay. love the terrace on top , especially during the beautiful weather
- Susan (10/5): Spacious apartment near the Spanish Steps! - Location, location, location right near the Spanish steps! The apartment had a lovely roof top deck, two bathrooms and a washing machine to name a few perks! Krista was fantastic and recommended several good restaurants that we went to in the area. Some street noise due to local restaurants…but you’re in a major city!!!!
