Guest Reviews
- Trista (6/5): Two Nights in Rome - The apartment had a lot of charm. The finishings were lovely and appreciated by someone who enjoys decor. Prior to our arrival, we weren’t given instructions on how to access the apartment (security door and then code for the key lock box), which meant some scrambling on our arrival. Also, be prepared to bring your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs.
- Theresa (7/5): Great location & lovely apartment. - Breakfast was not included. The location was great. The apartment was lovely. Needed & paid for two bedrooms for party of three. We had one bedroom & a hallway end with a small chair twin bed rollout that was so small for a person my size. It was not a second bedroom. Could not fit on that bed without hitting the chair arms on each side. Not as advertised. Disappointed.
- Marshall (1/5): We would NEVER have booked this place if we had seen it in person. - Location Would never book again with this owner!!!
They were difficult to communicate with and did not provide a clean “elegant” with 3:00 check in the apartment was dirty not cleaned at all with trash and dirty dishes and soiled linens throughout. The toilet was dirty and broken and the place is generally old and in very worn condition. Was not ready when needed (it took over 3 hours for them to clean it, and was not as described.
- Samar (6/5): Pleasant - It was advertised as a 2 bedroom apartment but the second bedroom was in the family room. A little tight for our group. Loved that it had 2 bathrooms…. Although we couldn’t use one of the showers because the drain was clogged. It eventually got addressed but took a few days.
Location was great and close to the metro and trevi fountain. We never met the host. She expected everything to be done via WhatsApp including check in. Tourist tax needed to be done through a bank transfer which is neither easy or free. When I finally figured out how to send it through PayPal the host expected me to pay her PayPal fee as well as my own fee.
- Maeann (10/5): Great host and location was superb! The grocery store nearby and gelato place were very good. - Property host or owner was very nice and accommodating letting us drop off our bags early since we arrived 7:30am. Also easy to communicate via what’s app and responded promptly. Thank you!
- Xuan (8/5): Very good - Location is the best. No one met with me when arrived. I had to ask neighbor's help to entry the building, then got the key.
- Wouter (8/5): Very good - Location is great.
- Yong (3/5): Poor -
- Attila (10/5): The location is perfect - Excellent location, in front of Piazza Barberini, few blocks from Fontana di Trevi.
Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and transportation in front of the apartment.
Good location for the metro. The beds are not very comfortable
- Claudio (7/5): OK but beds too old - location beds are not very comfortable
- Szeyin (5/5): Acceptable . If u want convenient can choose this. - The location is perfect . Super near bus station. Near Trevi. Water heater not hot enough. Shower halfway become cold water .
- Lindsey (1/5): Trust the reviews and don’t book this property - Location Everything is gross and the host was so mean. Asked us for bank transfer the city taxes. I offered credit cards and cash as payment. Insisted to do bank transfer. We don’t do that here in USA.
- Sanja (7/5): Good - Location. Cleanliness.
- Carbajales (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lucy (9/5): Superb - Location of the apartment was excellent, close to Trevi Fountain and restaurants and shopping Second floor was 4-5 flights of stairs.
- Simon (5/5): Good Location - Lack of Amenities - The apartment is located in a great area of Rome, with easy walking distance to Barberini Metro Station and several shops and cafes on the main road
Tne apartment is quite spacious although the kitchen is a bit basic. The living room has nice windows looking onto the road. The apartment has a lot of potential however let down by poor communicatoon by the hosts and a lack of amenities in the apartment.
For a city like Rome they don't even have any wine glasses, only a random selection of drinking glasses.
The host provides you arrival information the day of arriving so it is difficult to plan. Also no instructions provided and have to ask for the WiFi details.
There is no hand soap, shampoo, shower gel, tea or coffee so you have to buy all this yourself.
Furthermore the host messaged in early hours of the night of departure to pay the tourism fee, although I advised them I was leaving early in the morning for the flight.
The apartment has potential however the host needs to improve their communication and at least provide basic amenities in the apartment.
I feel they are renting out the apartment for financial gain but don't really care so much about the overall guest experience.
- Raimondo (8/5): Excelente localización en Roma! - excellent location, in front of Piazza Barberini, few blocks from Fontana di Trevi. Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and transportation in front of the apartment. 2 bathrooms. There was no soap in the bathrooms.
Nice to have a washing machine!
- Somnath (10/5): Very clean, spacious, centrally located with excellent connectivity, bus stop is just below. - 1. Very clean
2. Spacious
3. Excellent location, near to city center, excellent connections 1. The drawing room has no curtains, bed is actually a sofa bed which is bit uncomfortable, and street light comes on the face as there is no curtain, even during night.
- Leica (6/5): Pleasant - Large room, good location to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Kitchen items dirty, we had to wash everything before we could use them. The floor and bathrooms need a good scrub. Beds were good but pillows very hard. All the walls are padded fabric and ceiling in main room was not bright like pictures. Good location for the metro.
- Esther (3/5): WARNING - Book elsewhere!! - Good location with tall ceilings in living room. No instructions prior to arrival and no one available to welcome us. Called twice and was provided with a code to access keys from a black box. Please note that the room is on the second floor on the left (aprt 3) - remember this if taking suitcases as there is no lifts. The key for the metal gate did not always work and it took several attempts to open.
Lack of basic necessities - dirty used sponge for washing up, near empty bottle of washing up liquid, no hand soaps or shower gels for the bathroom, only 2 rolls of toilet paper to share between 4 people during a 3n/4d stay. Was a treasure hunt to WiFi and the signal was poor - did not reach the main bedroom, bathroom or hallway.
Living room - no curtains as seen in pictures. Shutters available but still let light though. Lack of A/C in living room during the current heatwave, along with the noise from the traffic on the main road woke the children during the night and impacted everyone’s sleep.
Bedrooms - main bedroom freezing cold at night due to A/C. Bed sheets only on beds with black throws - which we did not use as they both smelt bad. Eventually found the duvets but they did not have covers and were stained - as was the headboard in main bedroom. Pillows were flat, uncomfortable and stained. To be honest, the whole place could do with a clean. The hallway and main bedroom were very creepy and the children refused to sleep there.
Bathrooms - lack of power to showers and near impossible to achieve an appropriate temperature. No floor mat and gaps between the shower doors which lead to puddles on the floor. Issues with the shower draining, causing a pool of dirty water around my feet.
Communication - lack of communication prior to arrival and slow during the stay, taking up to 8hrs at a time to reply to messages - despite us attempting to call during this time. Requested a later check out, however this was not possible.
- Mika (9/5): Very nice apartment, close to everything. -
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (9/5): Superb - Location had everything you need
- Beka (10/5): authentic, comfortable, feeling home - best location, perfect ratio of price/quality/comfort. everything was perfect!
- Micol (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (2/5): Poor hosts, shabby apartment with terrible facilities, all made for an uncomfortable stay - Location was great and close to lots of main attractions. No communication from hosts beforehand. I emailed four days before arrival asking for instructions on arrival and to inform of our estimated arrival time. We received no response. Arrived at the apartment and had no idea what to do. We had no apartment number, just an address. Had to phone the host as they were not there. We arrived at around 8.10pm but had informed them we would arrive about 8pm. After a confusing conversation where they told us to message them in the "booking chat", we were verbally given the code to a lockbox for the keys and informed "it's the 2nd floor, on the left." A stressful start to our holiday.
There was no welcome package in the room, and no Wifi details. We had to message the host for Wifi details. The Wifi did not work in the main double bedroom.
The apartment was generally shabby and in need of deep clean. The hosts must have assumed we were a couple as only the main bedroom had been prepared.
There was no bed linen for either sofa bed. The bathrooms were grimy and there was no soap. We were only given two toilet rolls for a four night stay for two people. The towels were threadbare and had holes in, and were stained. There was no floor mat for one of the bathrooms. The mattress protector on the main double bed was extremely stained. The sofa bed in the living room was very uncomfortable, and the cushions were stained. There were no curtains in the living room despite appearing on the apartment photos. The shutters let in light from the busy main road all night.
The kitchen had lots of amenities but the cutlery was dirty.
The hosts messaged us on our final day to inform us of the city tax, meaning we had a rush to make sure we had the correct change.
All these things combined left us with very little chance to relax or enjoy our stay in Rome. We are not the type of people to complain unnecessarily, but felt we had to voice our opinion on this.
- Ilze (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect sleeping on sofa, but for us for three nights it was ok
- Joann (7/5): Good -
- Alberto (6/5): Convinient but would find a cleaner option - Location was ideal. Spacious place for 5 people. Not very clean, sheets were stained with dark spots. wifi does not work in rooms. Showers do not drain well and can make a pool inside that lasts to drain.
Hosts not very good at communicating. We did not receive any instructions prior our arrival or when arriving. Only the code for the door.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): fantastic location, easily accessible, close to restaurants, groceries, transportation and major tourist sites. , grocer - location and very responsive owner would be helpful to have a guest info document- ie recommending where local laundry, trash disposal etc can be found.
- Johana (8/5): Very good -
- Francesca (9/5): fabulous! - perfect spot great owner all super location cleanliness and the owner was responsive
- Mia (9/5): Superb - location and old charm
- Davina (10/5): excellent accommodation n a brilliant location would definitely use again - very central easy to walk everywhere, great cafes and bars opposite the accommodation no seal on bottom of shower door so it did leak into bathroom however marble floor meant easy to clean up. You need to be aware that it’s up 3 flights of stairs
- Alina (1/5): Conditions as I described are far from being enjoyable and are unhygienic - location The owner of this property is not
accountable and not reliable.
After long journey we were standing
outside at the address on a busy street
with our luggage for an hour waiting to get
into the apartment.
The drains of shower pans were clogged in
both bathrooms.
Several towels were stained with makeup.
And in general, all the towels were
stanching immediately after getting a bit wet.
We notified the owner.
Only on the last 3rd day of our stay the
clogs were finally cleaned by a plumber.
WiFi was not working in the Bedroom area.
A/C was not cooling the living room.
