Guest Reviews
- Maria (5/5): Too many steps!!! - The property is in a nice place The room is in the last floor. There’s 88 steps to get to the room and 100 to get to the second floor…
- Nikola (10/5): Cozy, welcoming place for family and friends - Everything, except one thing that I’ll say in the next question. One thing I didn’t like was the bed upstairs because I’m pretty tall and it was hard for me to get to it, otherwise everything else was great!
Alcune cose ho letto erano già state segnalate in precedenti recensioni.

Also Finger weg !!!!
- Mathew (3/5): Very disappointing - Location Lots of items broken
Dishwasher, tv, shower shelf, toilet, remote controls have no backing
Mould in shower
No power point in kitchen
No cover on metal ironing board
Nothing to clean dishes
No plug
Etc
- Teri (8/5): Submerge yourself in Rome. - Our host was very helpful and accommodating. The price and the location were great. It is close to everything. Very historic. Really enjoyed being steps from the Jewish Ghetto/restaurants. FONZI Burger was right out the front door and was a late night favorite. Coffee/ pastries and wine bar across from the front door. The grocery store was 2 blocks away. We were on the top floor, 4 floors walk up(82 STEPS) The views out the window of the neighboring apts and balconies added to the authenticity of our stay in Rome. We had plenty of space for the 4 of us. Because we were on the top floor the Bedrooms have low ceilings and beams (watch your head) and the loft has a small spiral staircase and a big beam to climb over to get into bed. It all made it quaint, but may be too difficult for some travelers. The entrance was very secure. Wonderful memories! We would stay here again. Some items needed attention and maintenance. The kitchen. No paper towels or hand towels. Trash can bags. Dishes could be added- For example-wine glasses.
We also had a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom. It was handled promptly.
The light in the main bedroom was hanging from the support and each room had light bulbs that needed to be replaced. I would recommend black out curtain to help with the heat and help save on a/c. It gets all the morning sun. All minor and easily doable.
- Geoff (10/5): Nice central apartment with great facilities - The friendly host kept in touch with us as we travelled to Rome and was on-site to welcome us on arrival. The apartment is in a great location, it is very close to Pantheon and other tourist spots. The apartment accommodated our family of four very comfortably. There are great places to eat and drink just a few steps away from the front door.
- Goretti (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dasha (2/5): Very poor - The location was excellent, and the host was accommodating, allowing us to check in earlier. The heating system works good. We arrived in Rome for New Year’s Eve. The apartment was dirty, and the plumbing was in poor condition. All the taps, both in the bathroom and the kitchen, were heavily clogged with limescale, causing water to spray in all directions. The shower mixer was barely functional, and the drain was blocked, so the water hardly drained.
The toilet flush panel didn’t work properly: we had to manually ensure the flush button didn’t get stuck and that the tank filled with water. The bidet didn’t work at all — no water came out.
There was no soundproofing in the apartment whatsoever. While going up or down to the second floor, you had to be careful not to hit your head on a beam, but there were no warning signs or indicators. To get to the bed on the second floor, you had to climb over a large beam.
The doors to the room and the bathroom were metal and impossible to close quietly, which was especially inconvenient at night.
Additionally, there were no wine glasses in the apartment, and they couldn’t provide any for us. This was important to us, as we had come to celebrate the New Year.
- Janeen (9/5): Great stay - fully enjoyed and appreciated the space - Great location- cute romantic loft, host was lovely Bathroom needs some work and a good clean
- Estelle (5/5): The location of the property is excellent. Need to provide clean bedding and clean the property. - The location was excellent as we were able to walk to our tours and to wander around the area. The unit needs to be cleaned, the bedding comforters and duvets need to be cleaned.
- Assunta (6/5): To many stairs we ariived and nobody was there to greet us , it took almost one hour for they came to let us in we sat i - Location Disappointed
- Joseph (3/5): Modern 15th Century apartment with many broken modern facilities. - Loved the host we met very friendly. Perfect location for exploring Rome and a lovely 15th century building. However, my wife thinks that was the last time it was cleaned. Please be aware there are 70 steps to apartment which require a certain level of fitness. Cupboard under bathroom sink covered in mould. Towel rail fell off, shower head and toilet scaled up, bidet useless. Told freezer broken but cupboard and window handles also broken and unusable. All clocks, television and radio not working. No curtains on one window, floor rug curling up(dangerous). Dirty walls and very dusty beams. A lovely modernised loft apartment sadly in need of a lot of Tender, Loving, Care.
- Gilbertsen (7/5): Good - Great location to all the sights. Loved the historic building and the neighborhood.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosa (1/5): Strongly recommend against staying at this property until repairs and improvements are made - It has potential if it had working appliances, if was cleaned, painted and updated, On our arrival we were greeted by the property manager Guido. Despite the extreme heat in Rome that week, all three air conditioning units in the apartment were not functioning properly. This made the apartment uninhabitable, with a stifling temperature of 27.6 degrees and zero air circulation. We are a family of 4 and the loft area where the second bedroom was located was not suitable to sleep as it was even hotter than main floor as hot air rises. The lack of proper air flow made it extremely difficult for us to breathe, and the overall cleanliness of the apartment is below standard, requiring a deep clean. The broken appliances, including a freezer and dishwasher that were not working, added to our discomfort. It was surprising to see those previous reviews highlighting several issues had not been addressed by the host. Upon informing Guido of the air conditioning issues, he was unsympathetic and more concerned about his day off the following day. Despite contacting the host and bringing the issues to Booking.com's attention, no satisfactory solutions were offered nor did the host respond to any of my messages. The lack of proper air flow and cleanliness in the apartment made it unbearable for us as a family of four, prompting us to seek alternative accommodations. This caused us to separate from one another due to the uncomfortable conditions. We were forced to sleep on sofas at our friends' accommodations, disrupting our vacation, their vacation and causing immense frustration. It is crucial for hosts to ensure the quality and maintenance of their properties to provide a comfortable and safe experience for guests. Neglecting these essential aspects not only jeopardizes the guest experience but also poses a safety issue, especially in hot summer months. I would strongly recommend against staying at this property until necessary repairs and improvements are made.
- Eduarda (4/5): Extremely disappointing - Location. The accommodation is up to 4 people but the second room (in the loft) is unbelievably hot, stinks and the selling is way too low with obstacles (house structure). We had to sleep in the living room, on the floor.
The house has 3 air conditioners but only one works and very badly. The average temperature in the house was 27 degrees when outside (unfortunately for us) was 40. The fan is broken.
The shower didn't work from the first day (was fixed afterwards).
The freezer was broken.
I strongly don't recommend drinking the water from the tap, lots of white residual.
Be aware of the stairs, we knew about it, but after walking much during the day it becomes extra tiring to get home.
- Chris (6/5): Pleasant - Location, uniqueness of the unit. Lots of character Unit needs maintenance, Unit was not the cleanest
- Nigelp67 (2/5): Very poor property management and dirty! - Booked as the last stage for our son's honeymoon. Saw it had a few cleanliness issues and raised in advance on how we would expect it for this special trip and were assured that it would be - it was NOT! The place was not clean, lots of crumbs everywhere and there were problems with electrical fittings associated with the AC and the bathroom area was leaky, mouldy and not at all working correctly. The post-trip attitude to ignore messages initially, then to reply later with no resolution to offer any kind of compensation and since then - nothing! Honestly, I would advise you spend you money elsewhere, as this does not offer good value. Its only redeeming feature is that is not a tent and you are very close to the centre.
- Velina (5/5): Good location - Location was perfect Few things was missing, it wasn't clean.
- John (7/5): Good location. - The location was fantastic. The loft really only slept 1 adult comfortably.
The air con in the main room made quite loud noise.
No power plugs on the kitchen bench.
- Fiona (10/5): Guido our host was super friendly and very informative. he went over and above for us. We loved the - we were close to all restaurants for breakfast. It was excellent NA
- W (7/5): If you don’t mind six flights of stairs this loft well located under the eaves of a 15th century building. Just mind - Well located, we walked everywhere Low ceilings in both bedrooms meant that you cannot really stand in either, luckily I sleep lying down
- Anonymous (4/5): Stairway to very average - Location Dangerous bottom edge of loft stair and dangerous metal step to bedroom. Utensils old. Freezer not working.
- Mark (3/5): In need of repair but nice location - Location was fantastic and in a lovely old building. Steps up to apartment were very charming but if you can’t do steps this apartment isn’t for you. Guido was very helpful in meeting us at the apartment. The property needs maintenance and also needs a thorough clean! The bedroom on the mezzanine floor is not suitable for young children.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (9/5): Family trip - The location of this apartment is fantastic, we walked everywhere during our stay and loved being so close to river for a stroll. The apartment itself is really comfortable, we couldn't get the tv to work but we didn't intend to lounge inside during our trip so it didn't bother us too much. Guido was a perfect host, he took the time to meet us at the apartment (despite a few travel hiccups with delays etc), and he gave us an overview of the facilities and local area. Guido also provided a map for us to use and was super friendly. Not a dislike as such just a note so others are aware, the second bedroom is above the kitchen, it has a couple of low beams as you walk up and also you need to step over a beam at the right side of the bed to access the room. As one of our party is 6 foot 5, that ruled them staying up there and those that did use that bedroom had to be careful.
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent apartment for me and my family of 4 for our first stay in Rome. The location meant we could easily walk to everything in the city. The host was so helpful and gave us some outstanding local information which made stay even better. Can't wait to return to this beautiful apartment and city.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Atilla (10/5): Perfect location - Perfect location and great support Guido. Also it was a good experience to stay at a very old building like that. Nothing
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good location. - Location was amazing - right on the edge of the Ghetto and close walking distance to most major sights and the best eating district in Rome. Building was beautiful, full of character. Kitchen was reasonably well provisioned. There were 80 steps to the apartment - which was fine for us but was a struggle lugging our heavy baggage and ski's/snowboards. The apartment didn't provide basic cooking things like salt, pepper, oil etc. there were a few things in the pantry but they were suspect - salty sugar etc. Not enough glasses and knives for four people. You can't stand up in the loft - so not comfortable for tall people. In general, the property needs maintenance. Curtain rails detaching from the walls, toilet flush fell off the wall during our stay, crockery and glassware insuffiicent for four people, television not plugged in properly etc.
- Susan (6/5): Great location but style over practicality inside. - Great location for easy walking to the main sites of Rome. Lovely old building. Greeted by lovely man who was friendly and helpful. Loft bedroom! Ceiling too low in room and on staircase access. Constantly banging head. All metal doors and frames were noisy, bathroom door had to be banged shut so disturbed sleep for others. Kitchen's strange design meant kettle and toaster had to be plugged in and used in a tiny space under the staircase.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good - Location was good
- Kirk (9/5): We loved Rome! - A unique space that accommodated our family of 4. The location is close to restaurants, transit, and Trestavere is easily walkable. Be aware that there are around 70-80 stairs from street level to the unit. It was fine for us, but something to be aware of with small children or for those with walking challenges.
- Sarah (8/5): Overall, guido was lovely and an excellent manager of the property and the place was good. - The location is phenomenal, close to all the attractions you’d want to see out of Rome, and easy to get to the ones that are at a distance. 70 stairs to the top floor was difficult for my 70 year old father, and the water sprayed at us, because the aerators were removed from the faucets. The shower head was also broken.
- Alan (8/5): Quirky designed apartment in great location - Really quirky ‘industrial style’ apartment in beautiful old building in very good location . Some really interesting details in the apartment . Plenty of space for the 4 of us and well equipped Needs some minor maintenance , a few things were broken and need repairing . Shower head needs descaling , plug needs cap put back etc. No power points in kitchen for several appliances that sat on bench . Couldn’t get tv working ( but that may be just us) Bed upstairs on mezzanine moved every time some turned over according to our friends who slept in it !
- James (9/5): Superb - The location is amazing and the cafe across the way from the entrance to the building is fantastic.
- Kristin (5/5): Great location basic accommodation - Great greeting from host early check in was accommodated lots of great recommendations for food and locations to travel Could have been cleaner needs maintenance in lighting etc no wine glasses in kitchen and power points loft bedroom is hard to access
- Sabia (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (7/5): We had a 3 night stay in Rome before heading home, location was walking distance to all major highlights however the pro - Location and character of the centuries old building, staff were helpful with information about restaurants and attractions near by Property needs quite a bit of general maintenance and upgrades and a good clean. We had to clean the air conditioner filters as were very dirty which impaired their function on very hot summer days.
If you don’t want to do stairs this property isn’t for you! Loft bedroom a bit challenging
- Svitlana (10/5): Nice loft in historical building. Great location in walking distance to the main attractions. -
- Margaret (7/5): Great location, charming, authentic apartment which could be amazing with some attention. - Great location. Property manager was helpful and responsive. Nice decor. Authentic, historic building. Although the decor was nice, some things were in real need of an upgrade. Cleaning of certain areas - kitchen sink, shower area, toilet - could have been better. I bought some bleach spray and the kitchen sink came up much cleaner than when we arrived. Tall people need to watch their heads on low beams but that was part of the charm and authenticity of the building. The main cause of concern was a cut in power (probably due to me trying to use the dishwasher while other things were also in use). I'm presuming this, as we were not told that this might happen. Although Guido answered very quickly when we messaged him, the procedure to get electricity back on was worrying and verging on dangerous. The master power cupboard for the entire building had to be located, opened and the appropriate switch flicked up again. When my husband had gone down to do this, 2 bikes were in front of this cupboard (which he had to move). Although this solved the issue, I don't feel guests should have to do this (risking, among other things, flicking the wrong switch etc). If lots of electrical items can't be on at once, this should also be mentioned to guests (to avoid this issue occurring).
- Kelly (4/5): Great location. Apartment needs some attention. - Great location. Beautiful old building. The stairs in this property made it very difficult. The apartments is tired. The tv didn’t work, the toilet flusher was broken, the power cut off when we turned on the dishwasher and even though there are three air cons they don’t keep the apartment cool.
- Graeme (6/5): Overall good - Great location Shower wasn’t good, no water pressure
- Hair (8/5): Very good -
- Niko (7/5): Great location - Dishwasher did not work properly and has become loose from fittings.
Tv/digibox remote batteries were empty.
- Lorraine (5/5): Passable -
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - Great location, easy walking distance to everything. Great host explained all the main places to visit and restaurants. Safe and secure. Head height for the room upstairs wasn’t really suitable for someone 6ft 4. We obviously didn’t fully read the details so our own fault.
- Joseph (8/5): An excellent opportunity to live in Rome - A incredible property in the historic heart of Rome. Closer to the Jewish quarter than Piazza Navona but still a stone’s throw away from any attraction. The property is a beautifully renovated loft in a historic palazzo and is complete with all amenities. As with any listed historical building there is no lift and access to elderly travelers or travelers with heavy luggage may be an issue. Caution must also be taken for anyone using the upper bedroom as beams do get in the way.
- Kathryn (7/5): Very interesting space in a great location, loft bedroom great for the agile. - The location is great. Be aware that this is at the top level of a 15 century building with no elevator. One has to clamour over structural beams to access the loft bedroom.
- Rod (8/5): Thorughlt enjoyed our stay. A working TV would have added to our rest time at the apartment. - Good location as a base to discover Rome. 90 steps from pavement to apartment.
- Sibille (8/5): Very good -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (5/5): nice but I would not use again - loved the location the 2nd bedroom upstairs is not fit for purpose to many obstacles to get to the bed would suit young people in there teens or early 20 not fit for older people or people with mobility problems
- Richie (10/5): Excellent and charming Roman loft. - Charming, authentic, quirky. All good for a fit person, steps are vast, but add to the charm.
- Doug (4/5): Disappointing -
- O'gara (8/5): Very good -
- Jill (10/5): Perfect - The apartment was in a perfect location. It was quiet and felt very safe and cosy but we were close enough to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. It was clean and beautiful. Many people in other reviews mention the stairs. Although it was tricky to get the bags up, I quite liked the stairs. I felt we were tucked away in our own little haven.
- Trevor (8/5): Very good -
- Sandee (7/5): Good -
- Riccardo (3/5): Poor - location was great tiny shower, air conditioner did not work nor cool the room, all remotes required new batteries
- Pascal (8/5): Very good - Very stylish loft under the roof of a 1500s palazzo. Well located, steps away from the Jewish area, and walking distance to the major touristic places. not far from the Trastevere area with lots of wonderful restaurants and bars Good to know: a couple of quite huge floors to climb to access the flat
- Joan (10/5): great stay, great location - the property was in a good location with stations easy to reach nearby. lots of restaurants nearby. the room was comfortable and for Paris a good size.
