Guest Reviews
- Jurnick (8/5): - Spacious and close to Monchhichi park. Far from central Tokyo.

- Helen (8/5): Thus was a very good place to stay. The walk from the station was no problem and the kitchen was well equipped and the p - It was clean with an excellent kitchen and good living area, most beds were comfortable except for the double bed. The location was good with a supermarket nearby The double bed was extremely hard and hurt everyone’s back
- Yau Chak (10/5): - 住宿地點方便,床舖也很乾淨,煮食器皿用具杯碟也很齊全及乾淨,整間房屋也很整潔,我們一家都很滿意!下次有機會到東京一定再住這間!
- Petr (10/5): - Velikost ubytovani nadherna
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheshu (8/5): Very good - Slight difficulty to get keys as instructions in japanese & arrived late at night but otherwise an excellent accommodation
- Wing (8/5): Very good -
- Chi (6/5): Not recommended location but the price for big group is ok - Very clean and the facilities is good, owner is super good The stair is crazy and not suitable and dangerous for old people, the space of room in level 3 is not big and it is shared, so it count as 2 rooms, you can hear the sound of next room, it is not comfortable, but the another room stand alone in level 4 is big enough and spacious, warm air in common area and stair is not enough to support, 16-18 mins from the station, not very near
- Anthony (9/5): An enjoyable stay. - Clean and comfortable. Nothing.
- Jonathan (7/5): A great place to stay with some room for improvement - It is a very cosy Japanese house with everything you need. It was a great experience to stay in a Japanese house instead of a hotel! Staying in a residential area is also nice as it adds to the feeling of staying in a Japanese house.
A washing machine and drying rack is available for use which was very handy!
The host doesn't speak much English, but she was very helpful and friendly. The check-in and checkout went well and though they required a 20.000 yen deposit, we didn't have any issues with getting it back at the end of the trip.
The house has technically 4 stories. The first (ground) floor only has the entry and main bathroom. The second floor has the kitchen and living room. The third floor has a big bedroom with 2 large beds, that can be split into two bedrooms with sliding door dividers (that have white glass windows). On the fourth floor is another bedroom with four beds.
And we got a very fair price! All beds were surprisingly hard, but a few of them felt legitimately like a wooden board on springs. It seems like these beds did not have a topper to make it more comfortable. I really hope they add toppers or change the mattresses altogether because they were very uncomfortable.
The free wifi provided is a pocket wifi device. While it works fine for a while, it tends to suddenly stop working. Restarting it fixes it, but it was a bit annoying to have to deal with this none the less.
None of the curtains block the light from outside properly. In the night this isn't a problem because the Tea doesn't have many outside lights, but the sun rose early when we were here (October) so we'd wake up early if not for our sleeping masks.
All in all, we DID really enjoy our stay, but it would be an easy 10/10 if these problems were fixed!
- Suhadi (9/5): Superb -
- Annacamille (8/5): Very good -
- Soenke (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (10/5): Very nice and clean! - I liked the facility it was nice and clean! I also liked how sound proof the house was!
- Shumeng (9/5): Be aware of the stairs and location - It’s clean and comfortable There are many stairs in the house, the bathroom is in the first floor, the bedroom is in 3rd and 4th floor. To take a bath, need to go up and down a hundred steep stairs. The location is far from the subway station, 16 minutes walk, almost a mile, reconsider if you need to go frequently to the city. It is 20 minutes away from the downtown.
- Alexander (7/5): Good - The service was great and clean accomodation. Located near a train station and a shopping district The narrow staircase was a worry if your not careful and we kept on having internet issue such as connections or it’ll suddenly restart by itself along with limited amount of devices we could connect with.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ching (9/5): Superb -
- Tovuudorj (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rebecca (6/5): Not as comfortable as we expected... - The place was clean and bright. It was really good that there were 2 toilets as this was quite rare in Japan.
There were 5 beds in total which was good, however the 2 bedrooms on the third floor were basically 1 room since it was divided by a sliding door and the door to the second room is blocked by the bed. The host meets you at check-in, which is inconvenient in terms of knowing exactly when you will arrive. Host does not speak much English, so it was difficult to communicate in person. Further, a 20,000 JPY damage deposit is required in cash upon arrival, which made us anxious throughout our stay, as there were already many scratches on the walls/furniture and we were worried of getting falsely accused of damages caused by previous guests. For example, the tap in the bathroom was already loose and breaking, making it difficult to use hot water. It was very difficult to carry our heavy luggage up 3 flights of super steep stairs, especially with the pressure of not scratching the walls. There was no handrail either, which made it dangerous and painful going up and down all the time. One part of the ceiling above the stairs was quite low, so you need to be careful not to bump your head.
Would've also been nice if more towels were provided, as no spares were given for the towel holders in both bathrooms to dry hands. It also would've been nicer if all the towels were the same colour and quality, as it gave us the impression that they were reused from the host's family.
The couch is also uncomfortable and in poor condition with mold in the drawer, which is probably why it’s not shown in the listing photos at all, and the aircons and bathroom fans are covered in dust, making us scared to use them. There's no proper dining table, which made it uncomfortable for 4 guests as 2 had to sit on the hard floor.
On the 4th floor, you can feel cold air coming through the windows at night when sleeping, the room is not super dark, and sound proofing is poor, as you can hear all street noises very clearly even from that high up. The wifi also didn’t reach the 4th floor very well which was a shame, as there was a nice desk area.

- Chiao (9/5): Superb -
- Bang (10/5): Exceptional - A very nice place to stay. Very clean. Plus the host who came to pass me the keys can speak Chinese. The beds are comfortable and the topmost room was spacious. Personally think that it's a good place to stay for large groups, cos the living room was kinda spacious for Japan's standards The location was about 10 mins walk away from the nearest train station. Plus it takes quite long to reach the tourist attractions like Shinjuku etc. It took me almost 1 hour to reach Ikebukuro from the apartment.
- Dzaki (9/5): Thank you for letting us stay in your property! We had a great time! - We had the whole 4 storey building to ourselves. Facilities were good. The best and most well-equipped Japanese bathroom i've ever used so far. Good wifi. Within 15 minutes walk from Shin-Koiwa Station on the Chuo-Sobu Line, which is good for JR pass users. Tokyo's subway system is extensive and we didn't even need to use the bus. The building stayed warm and comfortable even when buffeted by high winds outside. Many options to eat, shop for groceries and sightsee withing walking distance. The many alleys and sidestreets were mainly filled with local residents; very non-touristy and gave us a good feel for local culture.
- Vivialyn (8/5): Very good -
