Guest Reviews
- Lori (6/5): Overpriced for the accommodations. - Bed and linen very comfortable. One full set of stairs to get to the elevator. Difficult to understand the hot water situation.
- Tanjib (7/5): A nice apartment in the Plaka neighbourhood - The apartment is situated in a very nice neighbourhood. It’s just next to all the attractions of Athens but not crowded. Rooms are neatly cleaning and all the necessary amenities were there. The owner is helpful and communicative. The washroom can be modified as the roof’s color is peeling off. Because the apartment is not sound proof you can hear noise at night from stairs and neighbours

- Jody (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - Location Only at the end of our stay did we realize thet we had to turn on hot water. We had 2 very cold showers.
- Susan (8/5): Enjoyable stay loved the location. - Location was fabulous, it had a washer, it had a comfy couch and was a cute older style apartment. The dreadful shower curtain. The bed linen and bed was not super comfortable. Shower curtains are only acceptable when they are clean. They should replace it regularly.

- Jessi (5/5): Fantastic Location - The location of the apartment is fantastic - very charming area and close to some lovely restaurants.
The host was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed aside from a slight mishap with the shower - but the host responded quickly to my query which was great. The apartment was also equipped with everything we could need.
Very smooth check-in process. The apartment itself is quite noisy - which I appreciate a lot of Athens apartments will be - but even with all the windows and doors closed someone talking on the street sounded like they were next to you.
The bed was also the most uncomfortable bed both my husband and I have ever slept in. It was an old single spring lumpy mattress that sunk in towards the middle.
- Ken (9/5): Enjoyable Stay in Athens - The place was clean, tidy and in an excellent location. Whilst the apartment was on the first floor, there is a lift saving you to carry your bags. It is a good place to stay for a couple.
Easy walking distance (7 minutes) from the Athens Metro if you catch a train from the airport. A short walk 7-8 minutes to the South Entry to the Acropolis.
Overall it was an very comfortable and would stay again. None

- Roy (9/5): Great place to stay and would absolutely recommend - Fantastic location. Within walking distance of everything we wanted to see/do but in a side street that was nice and quiet in the night. Really efficient aircon and had everything we needed for a short stay in Athens before heading off to the islands. Very accommodating hosts No major deal breakers for us. Very low ceiling in bathroom - not a problem for us but I think someone 6 foot or more could find it a bit awkward. My wife found the bed a bit too hard but a mattress topper would sort that out
- Lauryn (8/5): Beautiful - Perfect location! Easy to find and near so many restaurants and bars! Easy check in / check out. Has all things you need like hair dryer etc. Would definitely recommend. Walls are a little bit thin meaning you could hear other guests and residents coming home or in the stairs but that didn’t bother us.
- Isabelle (10/5): A perfect location and place to stay! Super helpful and lovely hosts who were quick to respond when we needed. 10/10 - A perfect location and place to stay! Super helpful and lovely hosts who were quick to respond when we needed. 10/10 recommend!
- David (8/5): Great for a short visit - Location is great. Pictures make it look much better than it is

- A localização é perfeita . Outro ponto forte é a facilidade de check in . Tudo idêntico as fotos. Tudo ótimo . Sugiro apenas ter travesseiro mais baixo.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Nice apartment with a perfect location - just a short walk from everything we needed. The bathroom ceiling is quite low and is not suitable for taller guests. Also, noise from the stairwell carries easily into the apartment - we were woken up during the night by loud voices that sounded like they were coming from inside.
- Jordyn (7/5): Good -
- Ezra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Cosy little flat near the centre of Plaka. - A central little flat, just off Adrianou street and round the corner from a square filled with cafes. It was very quiet considering it was so central and had good facilities. The WiFi was pretty good and the kitchen was reasonably well stocked. There was good text communication with the owners. The bed was too hard for my tastes - but that is obviously a personal preference. Otherwise there was very little I didn’t like. There was some noise from other residents but that didn’t bother me.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Suzanne (7/5): Great space to relax and access the Athens sites. - Location to Plaka district and Acropolis Noisy neighbours
- Aegean (10/5): A lovely apartment right in the centre with amazing hosts! - Right in the centre of the Plaka, just metres away from all the lovely bars and restaurants, the location couldn't have been better! The apartment is clean, spacious, and has everything you need. The most amazing part of our stay though was what happened after we had left, as I was absent-minded enough to leave the envelope with the remainder of our travel money in it (quite a big sum in cash!). Not only did our hosts immediately message us to say we had left it behind, but they transferred the money to our bank back in the UK! Amazingly honest, and thanks you so much for going the extra mile! We've stayed with you before, and we definitely will again! We love the Greek people! My memory! Ha ha!
- Tanya (9/5): Location was fantastic in great area close to all major attractions and apartment comfortable. - The location of this property was fantastic. Just around the corner were restaurants, cafes. We were very close within walking distance to the major attractions The acropolis , museum, parks , changing of the guards and we could walk in any direction to see so much of Athens including markets and the street arts. The apartment was comfortable enough. Bathroom small but sufficient and the washing machine a big bonus. We didn't cook so didn't use the facitlities but it was great to be able to have nibbles and a glass of wine ( no wine glasses though) but the mugs were fine. Five minute walk to the metro to get anywhere although we only used it to get to and from the airport otherwise we were happy to walk everywhere. Another bonus was the No 1 restaurant on trip advisor "VICTORY" was a few minute walk away and well worth going. Fabulous food and price good. Would definitely recommend this apartment and location. Not high end but very comfortable. and price good ... We stayed 3 nights :) Shower was tricky a bit small and had to direct the nozzle to the side so you didn't get water everywhere but managed ok. Not a major. Wine glasses would have been good and perhaps a coffee table in front of the couch. Nothing really to complain about though :)
- Atiria (7/5): good stay with great accessibility to attractions , cafes etc Host restaurant suggestions very good - Apartment in a fantastic location no wine opener or wine glasses
- Herbert (7/5): Good - Washing machine No Washington detergent
- Justine (9/5): Superb -
- Harry (7/5): Good -
- Nogueira (9/5): Amazing - The best location, good apartment, perfect everything.
- Bariş (8/5): Very good -
- Leanne (9/5): Superb -
- Weronika (8/5): Comfy flat in great location - The location is perfect! So very close to the ancient Athens sites and well as modern restaurants and shops. Communication with owner was clear and they were quick to respond. Flat itself is clean and comfy. It was a very pleasant stay.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Olle (7/5): Good -
- Paulina (8/5): At the heart of Plaka. Nice place. The bathroom is a bit small - Location The bathroom facilities
- Landerwust (9/5): Superb - Amazing location in one of the oldest areas of Athens. Very close to the Acropolis and Monastiriki square. The apartment is exactly how I imagine the locals stay in Athens. It has a washing machine, iron, balcony. Great neighbourhood and good communication from the host. Would be good to have basic facilities like tea, coffee, paper towels and some washing powder sachets for the washing. The bed/mattress is a bit too soft.
- Gabriela_diaz (8/5): Very good - The location is incredible, right at the heart of Plaka. The hosts very really friendly even if we didn't meet in person, communication was great. The place looks a little bit more modern in pictures than it is in real life. But it has all the needed facilities and it was comfortable.
- Teodoros (7/5): Pleasant stay and conveniently located - Location The bed not comfortable, chairs stained and TV did not work on normally Channels. Did send a message regarding the TV but no response .
- Julia (4/5): Very disappointing - The location was convenient and the property was clean. The hot water didn’t work for two nights during our stay. No wifi information was provided on arrival. Apartment does not look like photos (it is much smaller and less well kept). The kitchen sink didn’t work.
I would not stay here again despite the location. The host wouldn’t agree to a refund for two nights of the four night stay until after an electrician came and they were contacted by booking.
- Holly (9/5): Delightful well located Plaka apartment - We spent three nights in the apartment. It's in a well maintained old building. Being an apartment, we appreciated the separate lounge room, bedroom and kitchen. The kitchen provided basic equipment/utensils. There was even a washing machine if you could figure out how to use it. The host provided some water/tea/coffee/milk. My husband liked the supplied toothbrushes and access to Netflix. We had some issues with the wifi (very jet-lagged) but got it working with help from our host. The information sheet about where to eat and shop was very thoughtful. What was missing was the location of the local grocery store. We chose the apartment because of its perfect location - Plaka restaurants, Melina Mercouri Monument (meeting point for many tours) and Hadrian's Arch were just around the corner. The Acropolis, Syntagma and the Parliament House were in walkable proximity. Because it is situated at the edge of Plaka, taxis could mostly access the apartment easily (not have to travel through the congested narrow streets). We often got picked up/dropped off at the monument to avoid traffic congestion. My husband is tall at 194 cm in height. The ceiling of the bathroom is lower than the rest of the apartment so he had to stoop to fit in. The ceiling there could also be repaired as the paint was flaking. He often came out with what looked like dandruff, but it was the paint. Lastly, the mattress could be replaced with a new one.
- Helen (7/5): Great location. Could improve check-in - perhaps a lock box with clear instructions. - We had a real problem at arrival. The contact number on booking.com was incorrect. We eventually found the number but had to ask someone who spoke Greek to talk on our behalf. Eventually a lovely assistant came to let us in - we felt they had forgottern we were coming. No toilet paper.
- Anonymous (4/5): Stay elsewhere - Air conditioning. Location. Not like the photos. I don’t understand any of the good reviews. Bathroom ceiling is peeling and makes it uncomfortable to be in the bathroom at all, let alone for a tallish person to shower ( I’m 173cm or 5’8”). There was one hand towel and one bath towel for a two night stay. The towel had a large tear in it, and there was also no hand soap at all.
Wifi is very poor which was a pity because I had booked this room relying on the high wifi score and needed to use it for work video calls.
There was no coffee machine. Just a sad basket with three decaf capsules that you cannot even use because there is no machine , and one lone teabag in an empty old box.
Bed is basically a box spring with sheets on top, not a mattress. Thankfully pillows felt ok so I could sleep.
Elevator does not work, and this apartment is located up a large flights of stairs, so if you need accessibility or can’t carry your luggage PLEASE book elsewhere.
Strangely the birds and people talking outside can be heard crystal clear through the bedroom doors so it feels like they are wide open all the time despite being closed. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything neighbors do and say— but I do think most buildings in Athens may be like this.
You can absolutely find a better accommodation in Plaka for the same money. I absolutely would not recommend this stay. Furniture is probably as old as the building which also had a strange smell in the lobby.
Air condition is the only good thing about this unit, but not worth it overall. Very glad I stayed here alone as this would have been a terribly regrettable stay for someone with a family or spouse.
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - Lovely roomy apartment in a great area on the edge of Plaka. Just a few minutes walk from lots of great restaurants. Washing machine a bonus. While the rest of the apartment had high ceilings the bathroom ceiling and door were very low and I kept bumping my head every time I went in. The mattress on the bed was hard and lumpy.
- Anastasis (7/5): Good -
- Sylvia (10/5): The accommodation and location were perfect. Thank you so much! -
- Camila (8/5): Very good -
- Williams (7/5): Just fine - The location was excellent, close to restaurants, and in an area lovely to walk around. The flat was clean and we appreciated the tea and coffee. There was no cover on the duvet. Photos were very flattering. It was not fantastic but it was fine.
- Sowmya (7/5): made us wait for two hours outside the premises before giving us the key. other than this, the apartment is very conveni - great location shower could be cleaner
kitchenette needs to be better stocked
- Dd_travel (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (9/5): Location! Location! Location! La Casa di Plaka we will be back! - Location was AMAZING! All my Greek friends told me to stay in Plaka and la casa di Plaka is just as cute as it’s pictures and perfectly located. Just a stroll from the central railway station that services the airport, and more importantly just a stroll from the Acropolis with an amazing array of restaurants and shopping just around the corner!
Bed was super comfortable, apartment spotless, was a bit of traffic noise but when you consider that you’re in the middle of a bustling city being a block back from the major street I’d challenge you to find a better place for the price and location. I would definitely stay here again and with a full kitchen it’s a place you could stay for an extended period no problems at all! Not that I was bothered but perhaps one suggestion would be to put a vent or extract fan in the bathroom? And I guess a warning for super tall people, the bathroom ceiling is pretty low - again not a problem for us short Mediterranean types :)
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): A central quiet apartment. - This is a centrally located quiet apartment. You can walk to most of the main tourist attractions and the metro is about 10 mins away. The fitout is somewhat limited. There was only one wine glass and the dining table is cramped.
- Lily (4/5): Disappointing - Good location, pretty quiet. Thankful they kept our luggage. - Not the cleanest, very weak wifi connection
- Check in instructions are poor and the key literally broke in two and we had trouble getting in contact with owner who failed to apologize. It was a really stressful experience.
- Burned my hand badly on tap because it turns to boiling really fast.
- Only 1 toilet paper for 3 days and when we asked for more they failed to deliver.
- There was literally a fire in the building and nobody called the firemen until the unit burned down. We had to smell the smoke in our unit the rest of the stay.
- João (9/5): Superb - We loved to stay at "la casa di plaka". If we return to Athens, we definitely enjoyed to stay at this place again. We were able to check in at 4 a.m. We loved the localization, it is very safe and lovely. We also loved the detail of having netflix, once the public tv is in majority speaking Greek. This little detail is definitely a plus. We thought that was a little bit a lack of communication with the owner. Before we arrived we were a little bit anxious because we were not getting a response how it will process with the keys and since we arrived at 4 a.m., it made us worried. Besides that the other point that we didn't enjoy was that it was only provided us with 1 toilet paper and we were staying for 4 days, that for 2 persons it is not enough.
Besides that everything was perfect and we would definitely enjoyed to be accommodate here again.
