• Samways (9/5): - An utterly charming apartment in a fantastic location. Easy access to various modes of public transport makes it hassle free to get around. There were a lot of stairs to walk up at the end of the day, but the comfy apartment was well worth it. Host great with communication. Highly recommend.

• cary_sf (10/5): Beautiful, great location, felt like home - This was a lovely apartment that faced a courtyard, and it felt like home. It had all the kitchen supplies I needed to make coffee, tea, breakfast (or dinner), and also supplies to clean up. It was clean, beautiful, and a nice combination of modern mixed with traditional old (pre-war) apartment. The host gave clear instructions. The location was totally great: quiet, walkable, about 2 blocks from U-Bahn / S-Bahn, with lots of shopping (especially food!), cafes, and local vibes. It was also easy to get there from the Berlin airport without needing to change trains. The building was conveniently close to all this without being on the main drag. Honestly, it was hard to leave! Be aware that the apartment is on the 4th floor and there's no lift. There are 20 steps between each of the floors, so if you've got heavy luggage or a mobility impairment, you need to be able to go up 80 steps. By the end of my stay, I was very much accustomed to the climb. The only other thing I might change is a more-comfortable sofa instead of a thin futon, and maybe a small rug under the coffee table to keep it from sliding. The wood floors are beautiful, though!

• L.W.T.J. (10/5): Eine gemütliche Wohnung inkl. tollem Stadtflair - Wir waren rundum zufrieden mit der Wohnung. Die Lage top! Wir konnten sogar super gut im Bett schlafen und haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Treppen und vier Etagen bis zur Wohnung. Das hat uns gezeigt, welche Dinge wirklich wichtig sind, die man einpackt! Wir haben es aber mit Humor genommen und es als tägliche Aktivität gesehen!

Nice restaurants and bars if you turn right out of the main door, rather than going left to the main road. A teapot, a microwave. Instructions on how to adjust heating.

• Margit (8/5): - Lejligheden charmerende og smagfuld. Meget veludstyret køkken. Selv om vi kun spiste morgenmad i lejligheden. Stille beliggenhed og meget centralt. Altan i tilknytning til køkkenet. Dejligt lyst. Gode madrasser. Nemt at sortere affald. Derfor ok at få bedre kondi på vejen op til 4.etage. Kommer gerne igen 2 håndklæder pr person til 7 nætter er for lidt. Når der ikke er vaskemaskine. Hellere stole på altanen end bænk. Man kan ikke sidde 2 på bænken og samtidig nå bordet. Måtte tage stol ud og ind hver gang vi sad der. Tedrikkere mangler tehætte og tekande.

• Volker (10/5): - Die Sauberkeit war außergewöhnlich gut! Problemloser Check in und gute Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin. Die Ausstattung ließ keine Wünsche offen,was in Ferienwohnungen nur selten der Fall ist. Dass die Lage ideal war, konnte ich ja vorher schon auf dem Stadtplan sehen, aber dass es dort auch richtig ruhig ist, habe ich erst vor Ort mit Freude zur Kenntnis nehmen dürfen. Ich empfehle diese Unterkunft auf jeden Fall. Eigentlich nichts.

We found numerous bars and restaurants within a 15 minute walk The apartment is also quiet and well maintained with very good facilities. It certainly made our week in Berlin very enjoyable.

• Carla (10/5): The perfect oasis in a city overflowing with character. - Everything about this place was perfect. So easy to pick up the keys from the nearby shop. The flat is perfectly proportioned, spotless, and has absolutely everything you need. The balcony is a special highlight but so are all the little thoughts that have gone into it - extra blankets, kettle AND coffee machine, makeup/shaving mirror and three full-length mirrors, lots of lighting, kitchen roll and cling film, smart TV. I could go on. It was an ideal base for me to explore and watch my friend's band play at Kulturbrauerei. Thank you for everything. The only thing that would have made it even more perfect would be a microwave, though it would take up space. And my other gripe is that you've spoiled me! :-) If I come back to Berlin, I now can't imagine staying anywhere else.

• Jane (9/5): A wonderful apartment, a real home-from-home. I loved it. - The location is excellent - in a great part of Berlin very well linked to public transport. The flat is well equipped and was very spacious for one person. There is a small balcony off the kitchen which was a nice place to eat breakfast, or drink tea or wine. The bed is comfortable and large, there are lots of "extras" available, such as umbrellas, a great fan, a lot of kitchen equipment, books, bicycles, etc. There is a large dishwasher. The main issue for me was a lack of washing machine, which made my stay of over a week quite problematic. There are two other issues. Firstly, the flat is on the fifth floor and there is no elevator. Secondly, there are no black-out curtains in the bedroom which made sleeping after sunrise quite tricky. There is a blind, but even by combining that with the thin curtains the room was still quite light. Also, closing the blind meant having to shut the windows, which was not possible for me due to the summer temperatures.

• John (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful homely cosy apartment . Spotlessly clean. Very quiet and convenient in a great neighbourhood with fantastic transport options. We picked up our keys from a Chinese restaurant around the corner and would highly recommend there for a meal.(We ate there twice during our week long stay). We definitely will be back. We couldn't get netflix on the TV so we had no english channels. However we had a tablet and WiFi was excellent.
• Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful flat, great value, you will get a good step workout. - It is well supplied for utensils for cooking, bed is comfortable, bath was so clean! The flat is literally up 88 steps, no elevator. That plus the walk to and from the station was hard. We are a little to old for that walk and hauling our suitcases. It was also a good 45 minutes from Central Berlin sights due to various delays, construction, police activity, medical issue, congested rush hour. Over 5 days there were lots of delays and switches. I would suggest using the tram instead, it was straightforward with less confusing stations. There are some nice restaurants and a grocery store right by the U+S station in the beautiful shopping mall.

• María (9/5): lovely place - Everything! The flat is cosy, felt like home. Location excellent well served by trains, buses and tram literally round the corner. Communication with the owner was easy and she was very kind. There is not lift so get ready to load all your lugagge up to the 5th floor
• Gabrielle (10/5): Great place and great neighborhood. - The apartment was decorated tastefully, and obviously was not just an investment property. There was a comfortable couch near the window, on which one could sit and read. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and cooking utensils. Recycling bins were set up and labelled. Since the property faces an inner courtyard and is on the fourth floor, it was also quiet. The neighbourhood itself is full of stores and restaurants, and transportation is easy from the hub Schönhauser Alley which is only a few minutes away. The owner responded promptly to questions and was flexible. The stairwell was a little dirty, but that's no fault of the owners. The apartment itself was clean. The apartment is on the fourth floor, but that was no problem for us. Don't overpack and you'll be fine.
