• Emanoil (9/5): Recomand - The location is particularly good. It is very central so that many attractions can be reached on foot. All around there are restaurants, cafes, shops of all kinds. I also add the fact that the metro is very close. There were no things I didn't like. I would make some remarks that would help: the vacuum cleaner hadn't been cleaned for a long time, the hot water didn't flow at the sink, the door to the balcony wouldn't close, the TV remote control was very difficult to use.

• ISABELLE (7/5): Appartement vieillot dans son ameublement , mais très bien placé ,Situé pour aller un peu partout ! - Son emplacement, le calme , sa taille Canapé vieillot,absolument pas confortable ( on sent les ressorts!!) Il manquait : un tire-bouchons que nous avons acheté, un économe … Un seul rouleau de papier toilettes fourni Pour la semaine 🙁 La machine à café fait du café mais il n’est jamais très chaud ! Il manque une salière, un poivrier ( pleins ). Meuble dans le salon avec vitrine cassée… et une lumière , très faible avec un fil tiré pour arriver au dessus de la table !!!! - Le rdv pour les clés a été plus que rapide , aucune explication fournie en dehors de l’endroit où remettre les clés en partant . On ne peut pas dire que l’on se sente accueilli ! En revanche , l’appartement est de bonne taille pour 2 , et trés bien placé .
• Frida (6/5): es un apartamento caro para el confort que ofrece. - el apartamento esta medianamente bien, pero para el precio tendría que estar mejor el dormitorio tiene el largo mismo de la cama, hay que entrar por distintas puertas para usar el otro lado de la cama. Es muy raro. Tuvimos que pedir microondas. No tenía. La señora que nos trajo más almohadas nos consiguió un viejo microondas que anduvo bien. Al duchero le faltaba una pieza que reclamamos y la misma señora lo fue a comprar.

• Susannah (8/5): Brilliant location, very clean with everything I needed for 1but the furniture is shabby and worn. - Limited time, did not fit with my plane and the journey from the airport. I was charged 30 euros which seemed excessive and only just got there in time after a difficult journey. Because it was dark I did not accurately record the route to the flat with the result that next day I had strayed into 1 of the other buildings in the complex and was trapped unable to exit until a resident happened to come and let me out. See above. It would have been better if I could have collected the key from the security person. I found the door difficult to open as it is very stiff/heavy. No instructions on what to do with the key on leaving.

• Monika (8/5): Schöne und relativ ruhige Lage mitten in Berlin in Nähe der Theater und Museen - Super Lage, sehr schöner Balkon mit Blick auf ein Jugendstilhaus, geräumige Wohnung Sehr zuvorkommende Kontaktperson (Clara), die bei Problemen sofort geholfen hat (mir ein Bügelbrett gebracht hat und einen kaputten Dusch-Schlauch sofort ausgetauscht hat). Waschmaschine im Keller. Handtücher und sogar Geschirrtücher bereitgestellt, und auch Putzmittel, WC Papier in großer Menge vorhanden Der Backofen war kaputt, dafür gab es eine Mikrowelle, aber kein Geschirr dafür (Töpfe alle aus Eisen), habe dann ein Pyrex gekauft. Die Stühle am Balkon waren bequem, aber die Stühle am Tisch (der zum Arbeiten fast zu klein war) für meinen Rücken Gift; ich bekam nach 2 Tagen Rückenweh und bin dann immer zur FU gefahren, weil ich dort bessere Stühle hatte (für meinen Rücken). Leider ist der Balkon von Tauben frequentiert, die dort sogar schlafen wollen und alles ankacken. Eine Plastik-Krähe wäre gut zu installieren am Balkon, um sie abzuschrecken
• Focke (8/5): Für uns hat es gepasst. Es war sehr zentral für viele unserer Aktivitäten. - Das es dann doch noch geklappt hat um 17h. Es gab Kommunikationsprobleme beim Booking Portal und der Weiterleitung der Informationen zur Anreise an den Vermieter. Die Kommunikation auf dem Bucking Portal. Da konnte ich keine Infos zur Wohnung sehen und auch nicht auf die Rückfragen antworten.
• Richard (9/5): Excellent, except for the showering arrangements. - The apartment was absolutely quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept soundly for our entire stay. The location, near Checkpoint Charlie and the Stadtmitte U-Bahn was perfect. I am disabled and the shower being over a slippery bathtub was not easy. The apartment smelled vaguely musty but when we opened the balcony door the slight smell disappeared. The previous occupants had not washed the cutlery thoroughly.

It had a beach bar close by which was really handy There was quite a lot of things broken like the shower pole. The fridge was in a cupboard as the built in one wasn’t working. The host just gave us the keys and never explained anything. Not many glasses or cups.
• Colin (7/5): Great location, slightly grubby inside. - Property’s location is fabulous and it’s a decent apartment with reasonable cooking facilities. A bit tired, in need of decorating and modern furnishings. Difficult to sleep with no aircon and it wasn’t particularly hot outside, there was a fan which helped a bit. The pillows are utterly useless. Also there was a peculiar smell throughout the apt that was difficult to cope with but it subsided a bit after day 2. I was under impression because of covid that places were meticulously cleaned but this wasn’t- shower head, under rim of toilet, around door/window frames- all caught my eye.
• 540joes540 (8/5): Great location for travel connections and tourist spots - I've read a few negative reviews about this place but I don't really see the problem. It's not the Ritz hotel. It was certainly more than acceptable for a city break. Bed was really comfortable. It was a little awkward to find at first then go round to a separate entrance to the apartment block after collecting the key. My only criticism is that there was hair in the bath plug hole. The rest of the apartment was as clean as I'd expect though. I hadn't stayed in an apartment before when travelling, only hotels - be sure to bring shampoo and body wash. Someone else posted saying it's spitting distance of checkpoint charlie and it really is! My balcony looked out to it pretty much. I'd return!
• Catherine256 (6/5): Brilliant location - To be honest I had some reservations about these apartments, from reading other reviews and even on first impression when I walked into my apartment, a few things weren't working, but nothing that would really hinder your stay here. Whilst they are a little dated, the price and location is just unbeatable. The apartments are really no different to what you get booking an Airbnb apartment. The doorman was pleasant, and thankfully one of the friendly cleaning staff helped me work out the tricky lock to the apartment door. Don't expect a five star hotel, but if you want a basic place to call your own for your stay in the heart of Berlin, this is a good choice. Especially handy if you are planning a few evenings at the Gendarmenmarkt Christmas market, which is only a couple of blocks down. Ps. Zwipf cafe downstairs have some of the best coffee and croissants I've had throughout my entire stay in Germany. Great place get your caffeine hot before a big day of exploring.
• EiraBadger (4/5): Great location...cleanliness not so great - Good points: spacious, has things you need like coffee maker, hairdryer etc. Location is great, spitting distance to checkpoint Charlie and subway station with quick links across the city. Our room had a balcony. Not so good points: not very clean, we had to clean the bath before using the shower (and we don’t have particularly high standards!), generally needs a good clean and there was strange smell to the apartment; fridge didn’t work which meant food was wasted, double bed is actually 2 uncomfortable singles pushed together which roll apart almost immediately. Also towels and toilet roll supply was not enough for 4 nights - although you pay a service charge it’s not serviced. Overall, not terrible and a bit overpriced for the quality and cleanliness.
• Dave767Canada (8/5): Great location - Within a block of Check Point Charlie, clean, quiet, relatively well equipped. Each apartment is different in the building so standards may vary. We had a full one bedroom apt. Bedroom was small but was nice to have the separation so everyone could relax. No desk on site except for picking up and dropping off your keys. If you need more help than that you have to call or email the rental office. Not sure how easy that is. Easy walking distance to many of Berlin's tourist spots. Good transit connections too. Wifi was painfully slow. Good value for central Berlin.
• alwaysdowntotravel (4/5): OK room, bad service - The room was fine although some of the electronics were quite old. The biggest problem was that the WIFI did not work and was not fixed during our 5 day stay there. To our dissapointment there was almost no form of service to fix our wifi or even state what is wrong. Also the bed is not the most comfortable especially for couples since there are 2 seperate mattrasses on a double bedframe.
• Alibali27 (10/5): The perfect place to stay in the hottest week of the year - We had a fab 5 night stay here in a ground floor flat with a large terrace. The flat was cool, was very secure with metal shutters and good security. The flat was well equipped with loads of fluffy towels and was very clean. You are near everything here. 20 minutes walk to the Brandenburg gate, 7 or 8 minutes to Gendarmarket, 10 minutes to the Mall of Berlin, lots of Restaurants right on the doorstep and a convenience store round the corner. You get the train from the airport to Ostkreuz then a train to Friedrichstrasse, then the U6 to studmitte it's easier than it sounds honest, and very cheap.
• 541giedrek (8/5): Good location, good price - The location is really great, distances to the main tourist's attraction places are walkable, metro and bus is just a few metres away from the main entrance. The appartment was clean, it had all main things and furniture. The room was small, beds were wall to wall. We had some issues with the internet, first night of our arrival we had no internet, but we called the number that was given for us and they said that next day we would be able to change our room if there still was no intetnet. The next day in the morning the owner of the appartment came to us and repeated that we could change the appartment, but then suddenly internet was good and we stayed where we were. All in all - worth staying here.
• Traveller88740 (8/5): Great value for money - Booked the apartment through booking.com and had no issues with the process. Upon arrival we collected our key from the concierge who spoke little English but was polite and as helpful as our conversation could maintain! The apartment was clean and fully stocked with all the basic amenities you may require for a short break, hair dryer, kettle, toaster etc Internet worked perfectly fine- I was worried due to previous posts but it seems they have a new provider in place which we had no problem at all using! Only thing I would really change was that we had two couples in the apartment I assumed they would have the sofa bed made up and ready but that's maybe my own assumption! It wasn't an issue really sofa was easy to move and all the spare bedding and pillows were available in the rooms. Lovely spacious balcony and the kitchen had a dishwasher and fridge. Overall very pleased with the value the amazing central location and the ease of use.
• mince_little (6/5): OK, but not amazing - Stayed here with 4 of my friends for a long weekend. Apartments are quite near a few of the tourist attractions and have good transport links, however they are nothing special and I felt like they could do with an overall make over. Kitchen looked dated as did the bathroom. The bedroom is pretty small and as I am 6 foot 5 my head touched one wall and my feet were touching the one at the bottom of the bed. We arrived fairly early and were told that we could not check in until 2pm which is fair enough, however we were not able to leave our bags anywhere so had to carry them about with us for three hours which we found quite unhelpful. The man at reception is the most unwelcoming guy I have ever come across but not too sure if this is just the German way.
• 717randall (6/5): Decent, but sufficient things lacking... - The apartments themselves are more than pleasant/clean, and it was nice to have a good view overlooking the appartments' courtyard. However, 4 things particularly annoyed me - the TV was appalling - seriously it looked like something pre-2000! A small, flat screen TV is so cheap nowadays, so it is a bit of a joke that there wasn't one here. Secondly, there was no air-con! This made for a very sweaty, uncomfortable first night! Thirdly, the WiFi was shockingly slow - the routers/wires were so frayed that they were nearly unusable (not to mention they weren't connected properly and the routers looked ancient) - again, it isn't much to ask for fast WiFi - it's 2015, not 2005... Last but not least, (now I think of it, most importantly actually), was the lack of a 3rd bed, not to mention that 2 of us had to sleep in a double bed (albeit with separate sheets). My other friend had to sleep on the sofa each night - at least have an actual sofa bed! When I booked the apartment, I selected an apartment for 3 people and it clearly stated that there would be SEPARATE beds! To find that the apartment had a double bed with separate sheets and a sofa for the other bed was more than disappointing! Oh, and also the curtains were very light/thin (so the sun woke us up fairly sharpish each morning). Other than that everything was good - the location was great, and the price fantastic - please just change those 4 things and I would definitely visit again!
• Mach02 (10/5): Fantastisch! - What a great location! We stayed at an apartment just around the corner, practically with a view of checkpoint Charley. The appartment was very clean, warm and quiet. And private. So much better than a hotel room. U bahn Stadt mitte is close by, but it is also easy to walk to most places.
• JimW256 (10/5): Comfortable place to stay in Berlin - The TopDomizil Apartments at Check point Charlie was really remarkable. It was located in a convenient and safe location. It was close to good restaurants and food truck vendors. The apartment had a well equipped kitchen, one modern bathroom, one bedroom and a dining room/living room with a comfortable sofa bed. We had a total of two couples in our party. We really enjoyed sitting on the terrace for dining and relaxing. All of the equipment worked well. When the cost is divided between four people, it is a reasonable amount (730 Euro for three nights).
• 736rickt (10/5): Amazing location, decent apartment - Not sure why there was such negativity on this apartment block. It was in such a great location near to the City Centre and everywhere we wanted to visit. The apartment was clean and suitable for 3-4 people with good kitchen facilities which came in use when we found the local 24-7 supermarket in the next road. As for issues with 'service' - it's an apartment not a hotel for a reason. The doorman (woman in our case) is there to give keys, nothing else. We were shown to our apartment block (it's a big building), given a map of how to get there and a demo on how to use the keys etc. I'm not sure what more people want? If you want a 'housekeeper','room service' facility - go to a hotel. There was a decent sized balcony - bigger than the picture makes it seem - which is completely protect from any rain and a great sun trap when it came out to shine! Would definitely go here again if we visited Berlin.
• LynleyKM (6/5): Great location, no service, no free internet - The apartment was fine, quiet and nice although there was a strange smell when it had been closed up during the day. We had to pay for internet which is not something we come across many places. The doormen and women ignored us so no help at all when we tried to ask and would not let us leave our bags there on the last day.
• stelios123 (2/5): Would not go back - Although at a good location, it felt like all they want from you is your money and they offer no service at all. That was a really disappointing experience. The owner never replied to any email, or phone call, not even on the day of our arrival. We had to go there without knowing whether we would be able to get into the apartment but there was no other choice. The only person that helped us -just by giving us the key- was the porter, but he could not speak proper English. We asked for internet and the porter brought us a cable saying that we also need a router but he does not have one!!! Of course the cable alone was useless but the owners DID extra-charge our credit card for the internet and now we are trying to get our money back!!! We wanted to leave our luggage in the afternoon, as we had a late night flight, but it was impossible to find a person to work on that... Moreover, we did not get a receipt at check out
• Reisemeister79 (6/5): Meh... - There was nothing outstanding about this apartment, but the price was attractive for the location. A huge drawback was the mildew in the bathroom which gave the apartment an air of neglect. Secondly, the "doorman" is divorced from the responsibility of your stay except to give you your key. You don't sign anything to check in nor do you get a receipt when you check out. Also the beds were fairly uncomfortable. On the positive side, it is a good alternative to renting multiple hotel rooms when traveling in a party larger than two people. Also it is two blocks from Checkpoint Charlie and public transportation. Overall we felt like we got what we paid for.
• showtime69 (10/5): excellent location - superb place to make your base in Berlin. read a few reviews about it being hard to find but we found it quite easy after quickly looking at google maps before we set off,, also read a few comments about grumpy staff but all our dealings with the doorman (albeit only twice) we found him pleasant even if his english wasnt great. well equipped kitchen with a supermarket on the street if you wanted to eat in and also a really nice Italian restaurant a few doors down. the room was in great condition and the balcony was nice as were the beds and bathroom apartment is within 2mins walk to checkpoint charlie and also stadtmitte station, where you can easily get to pretty much anywhere you want to go. highly recommend also a thanks to the owner/company,, as i left a hat that i had bought and they had the decency to send it over to me which i thought was a nice touch
• joannamc (10/5): Xmas markets - Stayed at TopDomizil Apts with my sister in Nov for a weekend and thought the location really couldnt have been any better. Apt was spotless, plenty of room, with lovel balcony and in an excellent location in East Berlin to explore from. Porter however was only negative, no english, but that didnt affect us for our stay there. Excellent value for money. Would book again if ever returning.
• tracy_b4 (8/5): Good Apartment for Berlin - Stayed here for two nights last week. The apartment is equipped with everything you need (hairdryer/iron/all kitchen facilities etc). The doorman doesn’t speak English, but I didn’t find him rude at all as another review has suggested. It was very clean, and had enough space for 2 people. Would recommend the location also as its just off Checkpoint Charlie, and close to the underground station.
• DonnaS737 (10/5): Great way to stay in Berlin - What a fabulous & cheap way to stay in Berlin, if you're there for leisure & a few days. We stayed here for four nights end of October. The apartment is fully equipped with all the mod cons of home (barring a washing machine & dishwasher) and a very large balcony to have a drink on at the end of the day. We'd been traveling for a few weeks & to have a "home style" stay, as opposed to hotel rooms, was marvellous. Would have loved it more if the apartment had a washing machine though. But having said that, the apartment is very clean, modern & in a great location close to several attractions e.g. Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin wall monument & many galleries & museums. (including the CurryWurst museum, for those who love the sausage!!) Room rate included wifi & for an additional charge there is secure onsite undercover parking. There is a doorman who will greet you upon arrival & check you in. There are many supermarkets & restaurants in the area & a particularly good Italian restaurant under the apartment building, that do great takeaway. One of the main shopping streets, is only 5 minutes walk away. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is planning a longer stay in Berlin.
