Guest Reviews
- Jayne (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (9/5): Beautiful, cosy apartment. - Beautiful little basement apartment. Very private, in a lovely, safe neighbourhood. It had everything we needed for a couple of nights stay. A few minutes easy walk to the Albert Hall for a concert. Clean, modern, cosy, and the welcome treats were appreciated. We loved it, but if you're over 5"'9', you may have to duck to get under some of the archways. It's small and cosy so not suitable if you have a lot of stuff or if you need a lot of space to move around. The locks are operated via the Klevio app which worked great, but you do have to make sure your phone has enough charge at the end of the day.
- Sarah (8/5): Excellent location; interesting conversion of former coal cellars? Into compact and well - Brilliant location - by Hyde Park, museums and Imperial College Bit noisy as others arrived I
- Paul (10/5): Excellent value for money, great location. - First time using an app as a key safe but all went to plan. Loved the location, so peaceful and quiet with low ambient noise over the weekend. Would definitely use this property again.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Central for what we wished to do. Would use again - Close to RAH , Museums park
Shops It was ok . Nothing bad to write home about
- Karen (9/5): Cosy, comfortable and quiet - Fantastic location for the Royal Albert Hall and the National History Museum. Short walk from the Tube Station. Plenty of shops and Restaurants nearby. Although the Flat was very small and not really suitable for anyone too tall due to the low ceilings. It wasn't a problem for my daughter and me as we are quite small. It had everything you could have wanted for a small break. Was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We slept really well, really quiet area. You access the property via an app on your phone, no problems there. Everything was communicated very well from the Host about how to find the property, download the app and use the keyless system to get in. Felt very secure and safe. Although if you run out of battery on your phone by the time you get back to the flat then you can't get in. But we had power banks with us to make sure we weren't left in that situation. All in all we had a great stay. Thank you ! Appreciate due to the low ceilings a shower couldn't be installed over the bath. There is a hand held Shower head over the bath but nowhere to hang this up and no shower curtain.
- Rimon (9/5): In London for concert at the Royal Albert Hall, location is just perfect - Modern installed, perfect location... 4 minutes walking distance from the Royal Albert Hall/Hyde Park. Very satisfied. Large bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a busy walking day. Recommend it. Nothing
- Carrie (9/5): Stayed before, will stay again- perfect location and perfect for our needs when in London! - We kept in touch with the owner via text and had no issues accessing the property with the code provided. Whilst we love the property, maybe having the outside lights going downstairs to the flat working would make is even better to access. The interior is perfect however a shower (there is a shower head) would make it even better- appreciate it might not be possible due to the height of the bathroom.
- Michele (10/5): Excellent choice of accommodation in a classy neighbourhood. - The location of this flat can't be beaten, within easy walking distance to the Royal Albert Hall, shops and pubs to give you a complete London experience. The host was very accommodating and I loved the bathtub. It was easy to walk to Gloucester subway station and catch the Picadilly line right through to Heathrow for a fraction of the price of a taxi. Although it didn't bother me because I love to bath, just note that there is a handshower over the bathtub, which is super convenient for washing hair but if you prefer to stand and shower, it doesn't have a stand-up shower.
- Karin (9/5): Great location in Kensington - fabulous location for the Royal Albert Hall. Good choice of restaurants/pubs within 5 minutes walk. Tube stations within 10 minutes walking.
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - Convenient location to Royal Albert Hall. Whilst compact and low ceilings the accommodation suited our needs. Outside seating area available but not inviting as seat cushions dirty .
Somewhere to hang clothes would be helpful. Couple of tumbler glasses would be useful as not everyone drinks wine, and not enjoyable drinking out of a mug.
- Stephanie (9/5): Private small flat - It was really close to everything and private, considering we were in London it was quiet, clean and ideal for a short stay for a couple. There wasn't anything I didn't like except when we were trying to find the flat it was labelled as flat 1 and we were looking for a number 11 but one of the residents told us where it was.
- Pamela (1/5): Very disappointing, we couldn’t wait to get out of the place it made our skin crawl - The property looked good at first glance The ceiling height too low for my average height husband to stand without bending over. Dirty. Shower was too low for husband. Fan filthy. Heating didn’t work. Bathroom basin filthy. Bed linen stained when we arrived. Husband’s socks filthy when he walked in his socks.
- Steve (10/5): Perfect location for our theatre visits - Great location Nothing
- Michele (10/5): A perfect base for my short break. - As I ended up travelling on my own, the security of the apartment was a real plus point. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and the location to where I needed to be was fantastic.
A really lovely apartment in a peaceful area. Nothing I can think of.
- Janine (10/5): Great location for the Albert Hall and has everything you need lovely place. - The location for the Albert Hall, the museums, Kensington Park was ideal. The apartment is cosy, but has everything you need, a small kitchen with fridge, toaster etc, meant breakfast was easy to do. The bath at the end of the day was exactly what was needed after a long day walking around exploring. The patio was lovely on the sunny days too. There is a Tesco and Waitrose close by. Lovely restaurants too the Lebanese was great. Definitely would stay here again.
- Manuel (7/5): Stay was comfortable and convenient. Host communicated promptly. Close to public transportation. - Great responsive host. Great location. Nicely set up kitchenette. It is not possible to take a shower in the bathtub without wetting all over the bathroom Only sit down tub for bathing. (Consider installing a shower curtain). Ceilings are low; archways required bending down to pass.
- Eddi (7/5): Good - very clean, great location:) my boyfriend is 6”1 unfortunately roof is very low so had to bend down a lot! and apartment a lot smaller than thought upon arrival
the bathroom does have a proper door so if you want privacy it’s not great.. also no actual shower just a bath with a shower head and no real room to stand in the bath
keys are on your phone electronic to get access to the apartment, wasn’t stated before (or if so it wasn’t clear) so if your phone runs out your a bit screwed! take a power pack!
- Graham (9/5): Great little apartment in a quiet area but ideally situated for Hyde Park and Oxford Street - Great location for the Royal Albert Hall
Very clean
Very compact
Preferred staying here to a hotel room
Great communication with the host
Keyless entry system was good
- Samantha (9/5): Cosy hideaway - Lovely little apartment, cosy. Great location. Very clean and will come back. We really likes it but if we were any taller it would be a squeeze. Especially in the shower. I'm 5ft 4.
- Claire (8/5): great location, hidden away, private and close to Gloucester Road tube station! - location is perfect, walking distance to the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde park and Museums such as V&A. There are cafes and a couple of pubs also close by.
The app to open the gate and door are easy to used once set up is complete.
The space is ample, but it isn’t vast - 5’4” managed under the arches walk ways between rooms without difficulties, 5’6” and over and you’ll need to remember to crouch on walking to miss the ceilings; especially when showering.
Towels are provided, the bedding was clean and crisp, the entire apartment on arrival was fresh throughout.
The nest heating system was easy to use, although, being a basement apartment situated under the pavement, it retains heat well, as a fan is provided to support with air circulation- which was needed in February! photo ID is needed to be provided for access to the key app, this information is embedded deep within information listed and wasn’t clear. This needs to be clearer for visiting guests.
potentially a summary document could be sent ahead of arrival- with the app needed for the key system, a prompt for photo ID, where the apartment is etc. we didn’t have difficulties locating the apartment but I could imagine for those not so tech savvy, it might pose a problem.
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect and good value - Very clean and just why was needed No standing shower, awkward to use but does the job
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Cateluta (8/5): Good value for money - The flat is a former cellar I believe, and it's quite compact. However, it's very well organised and it serves perfectly one person for a short stay (2 persons could feel crowded, but it's also doable). The kitchen is well provided, there is a microwave, an electric kettle and a stove, everything you need to make do with pre-packaged meals (cooking might not be possible for lack of utensils). The bed is a double-bed size I think, large enough for 2 persons, there is a dresser with shelves for the clothes (but no place for hangers), a TV set, 2 small night stands. The bathroom is surprisingly roomy and well appointed. The access to the property is done through the Klevio app, it's very easy to use, but having a mobile phone (and not losing it or have it discharged) is a must. The location was really good, I was quite close to many tourist attractions and at walking distance from Royal Albert Hall, which was my main goal (going to a concert). Well, I almost froze during the first night. The thermostat was set very low, the radiators were closed, and the host did not take care to check all this and make sure that the flat was warmed up on my arrival. After some insistence and message exchanges, we were able to turn on the heath, but I slept with a sweater over my pyjamas, and I could see temperatures (as shown by the thermostat) of 9 and 13 degrees Celsius through the night. The temperature in the flat was fine from that moment on.
- Derek (8/5): Couldn’t complain about 90% of the stay.just small things - Clean and convenient Just had to duck your head and no shower curtain
- Paul (10/5): Great place and location but have a backup plan as booking .com don’t - Fantastic location close to the tube and easy walking to where we wanted to go Not the property but booking .com my phone broke and it had an electronic key to get in the flat, I rang you but because I could not give you the PIN number and confirmation you could not help me, you need to look at they scenario in future, I managed to get sorted via my wife’s phone But we could have been left outside the property with no access and no help from you
- John (10/5): We really liked the accommodation and it’s location. - Excellent location for our trip to London. Nothing.
- Joanne (7/5): Location fab, room only good as a base and a place to sleep - The location of this property is amazing and within short walk of the museums, Hyde park and the Royal Albert Hall. Good for use as a base but could not spend much time inside as very small. Host was extremely helpful with my questions. The property is much smaller than I expected and saloon doors on the bathroom are not ideal if you don’t want to wake the rest of the room when using the loo at night. Also the alcove doorways are very low, not a problem for me as I’m only 5ft but my partner was continuously banging his head (and he’s only average height). Bed was comfortable but living area too cramped and couch very uncomfortable.
- Carolina (3/5): O wouldn’t stay at this place anymore, not even for free. - The location was very good. The patio was nice. We’ll equipped. It’s a TINY place. It’s hard to fit in two people. There’s not enough room to eat as the place is so small that the table and small chairs won’t fit. The toilet is very small. You can’t take a shower because the place is not prepared for it (I’m 1,62m tall and I could not stand still in the bath tub) and also because there’s no curtains or anything to prevent the water from falling all over the place, converting the toilet into a pond. The toilet doesn’t have proper doors, so you won’t have any privacy when using it. Then, you better don’t have an emergency, because nobody will answer the telephone to provide any help. We tried it 5 times from 3 different number and no reply at all… Poor service.
- Anonymous (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Many thanks - It was so clean and private we felt so cosy and comfortable. Really good use of the rooms. Just would’ve liked a wardrobe but there was a great iron & board. Just got to watch your head on the arch to room.
- Mousefield (7/5): Good - Location is excellent everything you need is a very short walk away. The e key.
- Rebecca (10/5): We had a comfortable stay, small but perfectly formed. - Small but incredibly well thought out, in a lovely area of London, ideally located for Hyde Park. Very little bathroom privacy may be an off put for some people but was no problem for us.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (6/5): An interesting stay in a newly-furnished apartment in a pleasant area of London - Keys were supplied automatically via an App. There were no physical keys to collect. It was very compact and my partner who is 6ft 3inches struggled a little and had to be careful not to bang his head on the low arches in the apartment. Neither of us could stand up in the bath to use the shower. (I am around 5ft 6in).
- Patricia (4/5): Disappointing - Too cramped, smelled musty, sheets clean but old and bobbly. No toilet roll or adequate cleaning materials. Crockery difficult to get at, poor design of cupboard especially for older people. Had to kneel to access plates and bowls. No proper shower mounted high enough.
- Ah (6/5): Good location - Location was great. Facilities are overall ok for a medium size person (average 1.70). Everything was kind of small: the ceiling was short, the bathroom hasn't stand shower and it wasn't possible to take shower without being seated at the bathtub, the bed and the sofa were small. There is no room for opening a big size luggage, only cabine ones.
Communication with the hoster was poor.
All the lockers are app based (including the check in) so you MUST HAVE INTERNET to stay at this apartment (impossible open the doors without online data and battery). And do not forget to bring your own plug adaptor if you are not coming from the UK (you will definitely need one to charge your phone).
- Dawn (8/5): Bijou self-sufficient apartment in ideal location for The Royal Albert Hall. - Great location. Easy walking distance from The Royal Albert Hall with shops, restaurants and a tube station nearby. Comfy bed. Had a fridge, hob, microwave and washing machine so would be a good base for a longer stay. Didn’t have the actual address of the property and didn’t get any directions or instructions from the owner until I phoned him when I was in the general area. Would have been a lot less stressful if I had the arrival instructions and had been able to download the key app required in advance. No proper door on the bathroom and no shower screen. Pressure in the shower was really good so water went everywhere!
- Susan (9/5): Charming Bijou apartment close to restaurants and Albert Hall. - We did have a little trouble finding it but the host was helpful when we phoned.
- Sophia (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (8/5): good value in a quirky little den under Kensington - clean and well presented, location was good. had all facilities that we needed no door to toilet, only small saloon style shutters so privacy was compromised. bedroom tv speaker was blown so very poor sound
- Denis (10/5): Just perfect. What more can I add. - The Agents lady met us, to familiarise us with the e key, for the rest of our stay we were able to contact the agent who lived on the site. We were even encouraged to socialise with the agent and his Lady, both lovely people. we had travelled to London to see the world championship of dance at the Albert Hall which was less than a 10 minute walk away. All in all a great find. We will book well in advance on our next trip to ensure the flat is vacant.
- Lesley (10/5): Spot On! - Everything: location, amenities, level of comfort when using as a base, not to mention location... By no means detracting from the positives, just one observation: the lack of information regarding the apartment in compendium provided. For example, instructions for programming TV's and operating washer/dryer, microwave and cooktop would be helpful to those who are electronically and technically challenged!
