Guest Reviews
- Prof Peter (9/5): Great location with good amenities. - Wonderful location with easy access to travel (tube and bus), exceptional museums, and a large range of eating places very close by. The area generally safe and clean and the flat had everything we needed for a short stay. Heating good in cold weather and not too noisy considering its central location in the heart of a busy area. Being on the second floor some with heavy luggage would find it inconvenient.
- Ball (10/5): Really good location, very clean. - Lots of stairs leading to the apartment.
- Christopher (8/5): Fabulous location. Very clean and well appointed - Very clean, excellent location. Comfortable bed. Could have used more towels. And 2nd floor in UK means 3rd floor. Just be aware. No problem.
- John (10/5): - Exceptional location
- Diana (8/5): Great London short stay - Was a bright and airy flat beautiful situation in South Kensington…close access to the underground, grocery shops, pharmacy and several restaurants. We liked the close proximity to the V&A museum and Royal Albert Hall…as well as Harrods! Only drawback for us wee the stairs… 4 flights with heavy luggage was no easy feat, but our greeter Katrina was very helpful getting us up and settled!
- Liu (1/5): - good location This hotel has serious security issues—they didnt privide the key for the mortice lock by default, there is no cctv or other security measure. We stayed for three days, and on the second day, we had burglary. Two wallets containing cash and bank cards were stolen, along with a phone, and the whole place was ransacked. The police suggested using both locks but apparently the hotel didnt do it for their convinience. If you’re considering staying here, be extremely cautious or at least insisit some security measures.
- Irni Jasmina (9/5): - Perfect location. 1 min walk to tube and bus. Walking distance to many museums and nice restaurants.
- Karen (10/5): Great location! - Very helpful host and great communication. The location is fantastic and very easy to find. We would definitely visit again. Yes the flat is small but perfect for a short visit and has everything you would need.
- Helen (6/5): Pleasant flat. - Kristina met me at the accommodation and provided me with the keys Some of the furniture and decor was a little dated and tired. In the main it was comfortable to stay in. The entrance and stairway was very tired and needed some attention, there was an unpleasant smell in this area too. Thankfully it didn't go into the apartment.
- Lindsay (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - Location was amazing and host was very accommodating. We had everything we needed. Pull out sofa was on the smaller side. Worked well for our two kids, but would be a little tight for adults.
- Panagiotis (8/5): Very good -
- Charlanne (7/5): Great location for history, science and V and A museums - Location - excellent for access to the museums. And tube station. Very nice host. Netflix available. We were pleased not to have needed to try to get in the tube when the museums had closed as it was packed. So - a super location. The property is fine, but looking a little tired and neglected in parts eg fridge door has broken compartment so no where to store milk, blind mechanisms broken.
- Lesley (9/5): Fabulous stay would definitely return - Location and decor
- Melody-fleur (10/5): Cosy and comfy - Comfortable beds. The main bed is soft (not springy, saggy or spongey, just comfortably soft). Sofa bed has a topper to add comfort. Both have snuggy, clean bedding.
Apartment was cosy & warm. We were there in January, and it was icey outside. But heating inside was fabulous. Towel warmer in bathroom was wonderful, panel heaters on bedroom & living; all fully adjustable & effective.
Quite spacious. We even (lazily) left the sofa bed in bed form the whole week, and still had ample room to move about in. (Two adults and a child, with all her toys, etc, haha)
Kristina was very helpful and responsive. I had a few questions & requests; she always responded immediately, and resolved any issues efficiently (eg, delivering an additional saucepan). She checked-in with me (via whatsapp) during our stay and made it clear she was ready and willing and capable to assist with anything. Thank you, Kristina.
Laundry facilities are half a floor down. Helpful to have access to washing machine. Nice to have the noisy machine outside the apartment. *Bring your own detergent, though*, as none available. These are not criticisms, just things to be aware of, and our perspective on issues raised by other guests.
The stairs; we knew in advance there'd be stairs, and it seems most apartments don't have lifts. It's fine; once your luggage is up, that's the hardest part over with. We were in apartment 4, on level 2, which involves 4 flights of 12 or so steps each. (Watch out for step 7, the carpet is loose & thus the step is slippery!). They are normal stairs, normal width. Do note, there is also no lift at Kensington South underground station & 2 fights of stairs there from Circle & District lines (& escalators for Picadilly line). Maybe something to consider if your luggage is heavy or you do not wish to lift your bags (Earl Crt tube has lifts, by comparison).
The flooring in the apartment is as old as the building (with new lino on top), and thus creeks & groans a bit. We could faintly hear the floor from the apartment above; minimal noise. We hope we were not too noisy for the apartment below (we always remove our shoes).
Street noise; in the bedroom it's quiet & calm; can hear the occasional siren, but it's not intrusive. From the sofa bed, in the living area, the street noise is a bit more noticeable; but it's a nice neighbourhood, and not really a heavy traffic street out the front there, so we were aware of some jovial voices, a street sweeper or truck reversing every so often. (I am a light sleeper, so wore my noise cancelling headphones. Husband, on the other hand, was oblivious to the sounds).
- Houston (9/5): Great spot in central location! Experience the London pulse ! - Location amazing! Near to cafes and subway was literally outside !
Near to museums and on district and circle lines Only bath. No shower. Small bathroom . Sloping floor . Carpet in stairwell coming loose
- Elisa (4/5): Disappointing - Good location Run down
- Shaun (7/5): Great apartment, location, and comfort. - The host was excellent, and messaged throughout making sure I had everything I needed, and confirmed times on all that I needed.
- Andre (9/5): A weekend at South Kensington. - Location was excellent. Right next to metro, and museums. Apartment was very confortable, warm and clean. Very well equipped. Nice bed and sofa to sleep. The apartment is a bit small for 4 persons. But we spent the whole day out visiting London. So it was just fine.
- Maia (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect, the apartment is very clean and every detail makes you feel at home. Check in, check out and communication is extremely well organized and very fast.
I recommend it
- Marco (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tammy (9/5): Superb -
- Rashida (9/5): Superb -
- Debby (9/5): Clean and comfortable property in perfect location - We love the most is the location, its close to HTB Church and South Kensington Station which is handy to travel to Portobello, High street Ken and walk to Hyde Park and Mayfair. The property is clean and complete with everything that we need during our stay, even sea salt. The Fans were very weak, please replace with better strong fans (plenty cheap but good ones from Amazon) especially during warmer months in London. If we open the windows, we would hear the noise from the street, so I was sweating for the evening.
- Wai (5/5): not a very good place to stay. - good view outside the apartment, balcony very comfortable very very small toilet, shower water drippling slow, slopping floor, Small room, not that safe at night, lots of bar people, drunk. Then you have to close the window tight and making the air inside the room not fresh. sound insulation poor!
- Cynthia (10/5): We loved our stay here. We can’t think of a nicer location. The owner provided many conveniences. - Fantastic location. Convenient to Underground and many restaurants. Comfortable and clean. Easy communication with owner. 4th floor but got used to it. Really okay in the end.
- Kyra (10/5): Loved the apartment and locality. Stylish and comfortable. Plan return visit asap. - Fabulous area. Close to tube station. Restaurants, good shops and parks.
Compact, pretty apartment, fully equipped kitchen/ dining/ lounge. Good sized double bedroom and sofa bed in lounge.
Nice, adequate ensuite facilities.
Keys from lock box. Met Kristina at apt who explained wifi etc to me and was friendly/helpful.
Oyster card took me full distance from South Kensington, via Paddington, Elizabeth line terminal 3 at Heathrow on departure. Bonus! No complaints at all about the apartment.
Age is a bit against me tackling two flights of stairs with suitcase, but assistance from my friend and Kristina, negated any problem.
- Raha (9/5): Highly recommend this apartment. - The apartment was really clean, in an excellent location, literally 2min walk to V&A and Natural History museums. Around the apartment there are lots of nice cafes and restaurants. It’s very central and close to lots of places. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We booked it in December and the apartment was nice and warm. The only criticism is that the sofa bed could have been more comfortable, with a proper mattress, as we booked the apartment for 3 people and one of us had to sleep on the sofa bed. But it didn’t bother us too much as everything else was really good.
- Mike (7/5): Superb location with average facilities. - Perfect location as a base to see London and the attractions.
Reasonable space and facilities for a couple.
Relatively quiet at night. Four flights of stairs may prove challenging to older couples with heavy luggage.
Were provided with four hand towels, no bath sheets. No bath sheets found in utility room on mid-landing.
- Alyson (9/5): Great weekend break - The apartment was great, very clean, and in a central location. The host was also lovely and really responsive with instructions and questions throughout the stay. It was hot during our trip and the fans provided were not the best but otherwise, everything was excellent!
- Rhodes (3/5): Poor and not up to expectations. - Location TV didn't work fully. Flooring was dangerous in places. Floors were not clean. The shower head was not clean, and water pressure was very poor. Decoration was poor, with paint flaking off the walls. The communal areas, hall stairs, and landings were very shoddy and not clean. Some of the bedding was stained, and pillow cases were missing. The chairs were unstable and potentially dangerous. All furniture coverings were stained. We will not be staying there again. Overall, it was expensive for the standard of accommodation
- Jolene (9/5): This place is great! I will for sure recommend to friends! Location doesn’t get any better then this. The host is great, - Location was perfect! Right by the tube station, restaurants, great area! Needs a little updating, fans very loud, new towels would be nice.
- Sandra (8/5): Overall very happy with this apartment. - The location was excellent. Apartment facilities were very good. Heating was very good. Relatively quiet as well. Comfortable sofa bed. It needs a dustpan and hand broom for cleaning small spills. For a three night stay for three people perhaps a few more soaps, and other toiletries.
- Vera (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yusmaaniza (9/5): We will surely book again next time. - The location! It's just few steps away to South Kensington station and also nearby to the museums . It's also easy to find halal food around there. We love the stay. Nope. Everything was perfect for our staycation.
- Jason (7/5): The location is a 10, but it doesn't quite live up to the photos. Be aware, there are several flights of stairs. - Location, exceptional.
Ikea sofa bed more functional and in better condition than many comparable apartments. Unreliable hot water.
Changes to apartment not reflected in booking.com representation (e.g. photos look different/better than actual, no tumble dryer).
No access to washing machine for 24 hrs, with no offer of compensation.
Communication not adequate or responsive.
- Rory (7/5): Good -
- Akiko (8/5): great stay. thank you very much. - location, size cables around dining table was dangerous. laundry washer didn’t have dryer cycle.
- Ken (7/5): Good -
- Irith (8/5): Very good - The location is amazing, couldn't ask for better. The bed and the sofa bed were comfortable. There was no dryer - contrary to the details supplied on the site.
- Bonnie (3/5): If you want to actually sleep, stay somewhere else. Best used for it's location. - The location was excellent, a 2 minute walk to the tube station. There were restaurants very close, and a market within walking distance (10minutes). Kitchen soap, shampoo, and body wash were nicely provided for our use. There was also extra TP in the bathroom. The wifi worked well. The owner answered questions quickly. The flat was on the third floor and no lift, so tough to drag up our suitcases. The apartment was very small and cramped for 3 adult women. The convertible sofa bed was a futon, and it was so hard and uncomfortable. It was very difficult to convert back and forth because the front room was so small. The bed in the bedroom was advertised as a queen size bed, but it was probably more like a full size, tough for 2 adults to sleep comfortably there. Each of us got one towel for the bathroom and only one hand towel to share. There were no towels or paper towels in the kitchen. The bathroom was very small, and there was no fan or vent. If we showered, the steam from the shower would make the whole apartment hot. Also, be careful because the shower is very slippery, and difficult to get out of safely. Because it was so hot, we used the small oscillating fans. One of them broke, but the flat manager kindly brought us another the next day. There was a washing machine to use, but it was half a flight down, and in a utility room. There is no dryer, but a drying rack is available. The refrigerator didn't work correctly. It froze everything we put in it! All of our food was spoiled because it froze. It was great that the apartment was so close to the tube and some restaurants, it was very convenient! However, that also made it very noisy at night, so it was almost impossible to sleep.
- Nicola (10/5): Would definitely stay again. - The area is good, really close to the tube, right near rhe museums and hyde park. Lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance. The room was pleasant and clean with lots of amenities. Was not an issue for our group but the stairs would cause problems for less mobile persons and the hall way is dark and drab.
- Cheri (9/5): This place was in a great neighborhood. Everything is right outside: transportation, museums, restaurants, etc. - Location was excellent!
- Wendy (9/5): Very nice stay in a great location! - No breakfast provided. Paper towels provided in kitchen and pump soap instead of bar soap, no air conditioning.
