Guest Reviews
Itse jätimme isommat laukut autoon parkkitalon turviin..
- Alison (7/5): There were only 2 of us and it suited us well- access to the small roof terrace was a boon. - Good location, at the back of the building so was very quiet, very close to a range of restaurants and local shops. Water pressure / volume in the shower wasn't great, and in the kitchen sink was very poor.

- Rach (8/5): - Location was excellent, loved the quirky charm!
- Beverley (9/5): Felt like a local! - We loved how laid back it felt in this beautiful, rustic apartment, and Petra's communication was fabulous - unfortunately, I missed some of the messages (my own fault). Petra was very quick to answer any questions
The outside terrace was nice, and it was lovely to watch the sun rise over the rooftops, surrounded by very inquisitive lizards, who came right up to us (and nibbled my husband's toes!)
The location is fabulous, we definitely preferred hanging out in these quieter areas. A fabulous supermarket down the tiny alley to the right of the apartment - only locals would know that it's there. And we used the lockers next to the apartment to store our luggage before we checked in.
A very quiet location and we had a great night's sleep. As others have said, the stairs! But that's what you get with a lovely, traditional, Venetian apartment. We knew what to expect from the other reviews 😊
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - Great location! The terrace is super cute and gave us the most beautiful view!
- Marchetti (8/5): Cute place in a nice Venice neighborhood. - It was nice to be out of the main tourist district and in authentic, local Venice. The rooftop balcony was nice.
Host was exceptional, communicating well in advance via WhatsApp and providing us the required visitor paperwork which was requested by the authorities. The ceilings were very low. The master bed was quite loud and squeaky. It kept my wife awake much of the night due to the noise.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Venice Charm - The property has plenty of character and charm. The location was near plenty of restaurants and within walking distance to gift shops. The private patio on the roof was nice. The hostess had great communication, responded promptly to all inquiries, and was accommodating for a request. Caution: It is a true 3 flights of stairs so it might be a struggle with people with mobility issues or the elderly. If you pace yourself going up the stairs, it is not too bad.
- Snowden (9/5): Superb -
- Cynthia (3/5): Do not take big luggage's with you to property as you need to carry them 4 stores up without lift - It's a nice small apartment and cleaned. From the page, when we booked and even during the communication with us she never mentioned that there are 4 stores without a lift. We had luggage's and elderly people which was too difficult to climb 4 stores up with the luggage's and elderly people.
- Jiri (8/5): Very good -
- Melanie (9/5): Wonderful property in a great location. Would definitely return! - Fantastic location in Cannaregio, still buzzing with people but not overcrowded. Great proximity to many restaurants and shops. Petra's instructions were perfect. We loved the manual provided and the history of the property's previous owner. The apartment was very clean and beds were comfortable. The roof terrace was a lovely bonus in this quirky place filled with books and art. The stairs, because we were arriving with a lot of heavy luggage from a week long event in another part of Venice.
- Dorota (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pardip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dahlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bart (9/5): Superb -
- Enrique (7/5): Good - It is just OK, they need to work on the welcome and on the privacy
- Rebecca (9/5): We loved the history and vibe of this apartment. The hosts were very accommodating and the views were unbeatable - Unique, beautiful building. Wonderful host. Gorgeous views from balcony and bedroom. Air conditioning. Full kitchen. Lots of stairs. Bathroom ceiling is very low- great for us short people, but if you are above 5’5” you may be uncomfortable
- Adriana (10/5): A quiet and lovely hideaway Venice - This was a little gem in Venice. It is away from the crowds and surrounded with great places to eat and markets to buy food. The rooftop balcony was our favorite place to gather. Getting inside the apartment is set up in advance with the host and is very easy to check yourself in. The apartment is spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and it is well stock. We would love to come back and stay here again!
- Iwona (10/5): Exceptional - Ewerythink was perfect
- Tana (10/5): Very easy check in (Nearly contactless check in) - we just had to WhatsApp the lady to let her know when we arrived and - Very easy check in (Nearly contactless check in) - we just had to WhatsApp the lady to let her know when we arrived and she opened the front door to the building through her phone, then we typed in a code she previously gave us into a key box and we got our keys! 🔑 Easy peasy! Also LOVED no extra tourist tax, it really adds up when you need to add €2-10/day at every place you stay at in Italy. So that was a refreshing change. As well, check out was 11 instead of 10 so it was not so rushed in the morning to leave. Overall, excellent experience.
- Nathan (9/5): Quirky delight in La Serenissima - A retired art teacher's abode in the heart of Cannaregio. Filled with books, paintings, and quirky architecture this place felt authentic; difficult to find in La Serenissima. The rooftop deck was a delight and the location was perfect. Right on Fondamenta Misericordia, you are connected with the rest of the city without suffering the crowds.
- Ivan (9/5): Superb -
- Annelizelv (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly host and superb setting.
- Christina (5/5): If you love climbing stairs then this is for you. - The location is good on a side canal with restaurants very close as well as shopping. Short walk to train station, water taxi and other sites in Venice. Loved washer and thank you for directions on using the appliances. Pillows on bed are flat, unit stinks like sewer at times. Way way too many stairs and final stairs on unit are dangerous, balcony is rotting as well as furniture out there, floor was not clean out feet were dirty from walking around, hit our heads on ceiling beams, no water pressure. Was not very satisfied with price or unit. AC unit was old and inefficient,
- Fiona (7/5): Lovely really loved Venice - Location was excellent very rustic property had real character
Host Petra was exceptional Only thing that we feel would have helped us would there be a fan in each bedroom
- Rommelluna (10/5): A truly artistic stay for those who like authentic experiences - In a word: EVERYTHING. This place is amazing and as magical as the city of Venice. If you want to feel as if you are not just visiting but living in Venice, this is the place to be. Its charm is as real as it can be. You enter the building through heavy wood doors and into an open hall with superb high ceilings that ooze with antiquity and the dilapidated elegance of the city. Long sets of stairs take you to the door of the apartment, and when you cross it, you have to go down a few steps and then another door to the actual place. You open it and then another half a dozen stairs take you to the quaint lair of an artist; yes, it does feel like an actual artist used to live here. You feel the love for art in its book-covered walls, and you get infected with the respect one should feel for it. Original pieces adorn the living areas, one very big bedroom with a big window from where you can see the patios around the building, and the top of other buildings and churches at a distance. Across from this bedroom, you get another one, a dark one, with just a couple of windows straight on its very low ceiling. This looks like an attic, although it is on the same level as the rest of the apartment. The distribution of the whole apartment is peculiar and charming. A kitchen with modern appliances, including a washing machine, awaits you at the end of the living room, and a rather small bathroom (the only thing I didn't love about this, although it is perfectly functional and enough for what it is supposed to be) on the side. And on the living room, a door leads to the outside, a few wooden steps up and you have a small area in the ceiling where you can sit down and enjoy a magical sunrise with all those screaming gulls flying around and visiting you if you stay quiet enough.
If anything I wrote is of your fancy, this is the place for you - if it isn't and you're looking for more luxurious or practical housing, then maybe Europe is just not for you. Everything is perfect as it is.
- Marier (9/5): Nice time in Venice - The appartment was well located, clean and with an interesting setting and decoration. The balcony was a nice addition. The hostess was available when needed. Another way to enter the appartment would be helpful when visitors don't have a phone number they can use
However the host was available to us when needed to check in.
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay in Mariangela’s apartment; we could have stayed forever! Beautiful location, with a relaxed, neighbourly feel and very close to a fantastic restaurant, supermarket with frescoes on the ceiling and a wonderful bookshop cafe! Away from the main tourist areas, so very peaceful; we enjoyed watching local people going about their day, living and working on the canal. The rooftop terrace was great for breakfast and suppers when we ate at home.
The apartment is beautiful; filled with books and paintings and feels properly Italian.
Very clean and comfortable.
Communication with Giovanni and Petra was easy and helpful. The hot water supply was inconsistent and took a while to provide enough for three showers; but this was manageable with a little planning.
- Maria (10/5): A marvelous pieace of Venice, lovely and comfy - The property is located inside an antique palazzo in a very quiet part of Venice. Very easy to walk there from Santa Lucia Train Station. A long walk to San Marco and Rialto, but I appreciate that the area is outside the tumultuos tourist routes. The apartment is lovely, very well organized and comfrotable for several people. A wonderful surprise: an "altana" a little terrace on top of Venice roofs. A marvellous place. Communication with the host, Petra, was fluid and easy. Thanks Petra! N/A
- Walker (7/5): Superb location but take care in the attic - The location was superb and having the outside space was a bonus. Whilst we like quirky the attic bedroom was a step too far. The bed was difficult to access, there was nowhere to keep/hang clothes, and all the books in the eaves were dusty. Also, my husband and I were bitten quite a few times so very uncomfortable. Our son was in the other room and had no issues with bites so this is an issue with the attic room.
- Runciman (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful, place and location! Clean place and lots of facilities! We will highly recommend
- Paola (7/5): Good -
- Oleg (10/5): Exceptional - All was great.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional - Location Nothing
- Hamidreza (9/5): Superb - was clean no elevator!
