• Lucy (5/5): Giudecca apartment - The location across from Venice Central on Giudecca was perfect. Close to the water bus stops. Apartment was right on the canal and you can watch the world go by. Unfortunately I didn't realise there would be Mosquitos, there was no advice given in the visitor book to close windows so I woke up covered in bites all over my face, hands and arms. I counted 25 bites on my right hand! The air conditioning remote was kept by the host at their house for some unknown reason. When one of the light switches turned on in the hall there was a concerning buzzing from the fuse box. There were stains all over the floor. The glass doors to the bedroom didn't stay closed. There were lots of dog poo bags full of dog poo at the entrance to the alley of the apartment

Apartment is great, location is great, there are cheap restaurants near by and very good supermarket with good proces too. I love our stay. Thank you so much :) Nothing
• Mandy (6/5): Nice situation on a small canal but definitely not worth the rating of 9.4 as stated on the listing. - Definitely not worth a 9.4 as listed on Booking.com.Ca’ Delle Erbe was dingy and badly furnished. The whole apartment was full of someone's old tat. The main problem was that there were no wardrobes or closets for our use, just some really cheap plastic corner units to hang our clothes on and these collapsed under the weight of more than 3 items hanging there! The entrance hall had a large wardrobe and a chest of drawers which was locked with signs all over saying ‘ Do not open private closet’. So we had nowhere to store our clothes and had to leave them on the floor in our suitcases. There were also no bedside tables to put our belongings on and there were no units or worktops in the bathroom either. We were in need of new bed linen and towels as we were three ladies sharing the apartment for 6 nights but there was no change of bed linen or towels provided. In the humidity of Venice, our towels didn’t dry easily so we spent the week using wet, smelly towels. The bed linen on the beds was scratchy and old and of inferior quality. The hairdryer was another problem as it was a small travel hairdryer which only worked on cold and took absolutely ages to dry our hair. The air conditioning units were old and very noisy. In fact, we couldn’t use ours during the night as it kept waking us up every couple of hours when it cut out and then cut back in again with a very loud fan noise and clunking sound and there was only one remote control for the two air conditioning units! Unfortunately, there were no mosquito nets on the windows so we couldn’t leave our windows open for fresh air either! The whole apartment felt like it need a good clean as the door handles, etc were all sticky and the floor was very dusty so I actually swept and mopped the floor on the first day. The refrigerator was behind two built in unit doors that weren’t connected and weren’t aligned so you had to open the laminate doors first then the fridge doors. The list goes on!!
• Canan (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the house is nice. It is quiet. Town center is 10 minutes with water busses.There are quality restaurants and a cheap market around.
• Jennifer (8/5): Beautiful apartment on a canal - The hostess met us just down from the dock to walk us to the apartment. Reviewed the amenities and answered any questions we had. She was also available to reach by text throughout the stay if there were any questions. She was able to provide luggage storage for us on the last day at a nearby restaurant. The views from the windows facing the canals were great! A full Coop supermarket is a 5 min walk from apartment. We did not turn on air, but used the windows in the evening to cool down the room. Unfortunately, this also resulted in a lot of mosquitos. The apartment itself was great, however in hindsight, given the cost of the Vaperetto to get to the main island of Venice, I wish I had just got accommodations on the main island. It would have saved us both time and money.
• Janet (10/5): Giudecca is the place to stay in Venice! - We worried that lodging away from the main island of Venice would be inconvenient, but with a Vaporetto ("boat bus") pass it was easy to get to the sights, and so much better to be away from the noise, crowds, and general madness of the tourist areas! Giudecca has a charming, relaxed vibe, some excellent restaurants, and killer views of Venice across the water. Convenient to the lagoon islands and beach and just a couple of stops from St. Mark's square. The host's agent met us at the Vaporetto stop, led us to the property, told us what we needed to know, and was available on WhatsApp in case anything came up. The apartment is on the first floor, so no lugging suitcases up stairs. It's spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen, AC in main bedroom and living room/2nd bedroom, and little balconies where you can look out on the canal running behind the property. There's an excellent supermarket nearby, and it's quiet at night. Overall just a wonderful experience and everything you need for a relaxing stay. This is a minor thing, but there is a water taxi that parks directly outside the bathroom window, and the little lace curtain in the window did not provide much sense of privacy.
• Elisabeth (10/5): Great place if you don't want to be in the busy heart of Venice. - Lovely helpful staff. Organized taxis for us and were great when we missed our flight to Venice. Well equipped in a great location on a side canal on Giudecca so not very touristy and was quiet but lots of places to eat and have coffee. Only 4 stops to San Marco as it is not on the main island but suited us well. Liked all.
• Orangeblossom (7/5): Felt like a private, quiet stay on a small canal in Venice - Getting to the property was easy with Alilaguna. It was a quieter location than San Marco and we enjoyed the small restaurants, etc. There were two separate rooms offering privacy and we appreciated the availability of a washing machine and dryer. The view was real Venetian. The vaporetto was close and we easily accessed the train station from Santa Lucia and a 5 minute ride into Mestre for an onward journey. Our host, Natalia, was very friendly and helpful. She met us at the Alilaguna and helped us get settled by explaining everything that was necessary. We could have used some window coverings, but in Venice that may not be usual. There was a rain storm when we were there and our wi fi stopped working. It never came back on and we were trying to download rail passes onto our phones in order to travel on the train.The station in Venice does not have wi fi and we had to wait to get on the train and talk to the conductor. Also, the electricity went out and someone had to come over to put it back on. The shower was quite small and may not accommodate a larger individual.

• Douglas (10/5): Extremely pleasant and very convenient. - In a quiet section of Venice the apt was spacious, clean, and convenient. The host, Natalia, spoke excellent English and was very attentive and informative. She suggested the extremely helpful Che Bateo app for the vaporetto, a restaurant and a pizzaria and she was just generally kind and welcoming. I had never stayed on the island of Giudecca before, but wanted something a little more quiet. Very good choice. I don't t think it would have worked for more than a couple plus one other person
• Maggie (10/5): No joke, I am seriously considering moving to Giudecca when my daughter goes off to college! - Amazing location with verandas right over the canal; clean, spacious, homey - I want to move in! Also, the snacks and the water were very welcome on arrival since we were very thirsty and hungry. Communication with the host was very easy via WhatsApp with quick response. I most definitely want to return and stay longer next time. AC went off during first night but fixed right away the next day. Maybe some bedding for the extra futon chain/bed - my son ended up using it, but we made do with the quilts and blankets that we found in the apartment.

• Patrick (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and charming property in a scenic, convenient location! - The property was very clean and comfortable, perfect for our four person family. We really liked the scenic location and really enjoyed our visit. The island of Giudecca is quiet and charming with a local non-touristy feel, and you just have a very short ride on the Vaporetto to get to St. Marks square with its main attractions (St. Marks Basilica, Doges Palace), restaurants, and shopping. There are also very good restaurants for families on Giudecca island. Definitely recommend that you do your homework on the Vaporetto routes (print out and bring vaporetto map) and schedule in advance as you will then have an easy time getting around. Also recommend that if you are staying at least 3 days, buy a 3 day Vaporetto pass for each of your family members and you will save a lot of money vs. paying as you go. We loved Venice and highly recommend this property.
