Guest Reviews
- Remigiusz (10/5): - Doskonała obsługa, piękny apartament oddający charaker miejsca, klimatyczne pomieszczenia. Duża wygodna kuchnia. Wspaniała Przestrzeń, cudownie skrzypiące drewniane podłogi. Dużo łazienek. Trochę za dużo schodów jeśli jesteś starszą osobą.
- Evan (10/5): Amazing place!! - The apartment is amazing, full of character and completely unique, we were a group of 8 and had plenty of space for all of us. 5 mins walk from the Rialto Bridge, and really close to restaurants and shops. Communication with the host was excellent, she helped us with recommendations and organised water taxis for us. Perfect. We didn't have any negative issues with this apartment, but may not be suitable for people with mobility issues as there are stairs to the apartment.
- Joseph (9/5): Great location in an extremely spacious apartment in keeping with traditional Venetian decor. - Amazing Venetian palatial apartment with grand decor. Extremely good location for main attractions in the centre of Venice, and on the waterways. Some minor aspects of the property could do with refreshing (older electrics, paintwork), but not a big issue.
- Susan (8/5): Great location, excellent host, a memorable holiday - Perfect for a 3 generation family holiday, lots of space I knew there were a lot of stairs but hadn’t realised just how many. Manageable, just, but could be very hard for anyone with even a small fitness issue
- Michael (8/5): A good stay and a decent value if you have a large family - Great location. Good number of bedrooms and bathrooms for a family Loud construction and business noise outside of 2 bedrooms.
Lots of stairs to climb with luggage
Heating did not work for a couple of days. Was eventually fixed
Furniture and chairs not comfortable to sit in. Wry worn out
- Katie (8/5): Great palazzo, eclectic decor with venezian charm - Great spot for a group. Lots of space for lounging and loved the balcony! The host Guilia was extremely responsive and helpful! Showers were originally cold but the host sorted this out for us.
- Trish (10/5): Enjoy a stay in an Authentic Venetian Palazzo, -Unique, comfortable and centrally located! - The property was amazing. The Decor makes you feel as if you are on a movie set and the squeaky floors add to the ambience. Each bedroom had a canal view, the beds were super comfy and the washrooms updated. Lots of towels available and the kitchen was well supplied. Of course we didn't cook or eat in the apartment, with Venice on our doorstep, but enjoyed some wine and snacks in-house. Contact with the girl handling the booking was quick and friendly, and no problems answering any questions that we had. The Rialto Vapporetti stop is less than a 10 min walk away. I knew that there were some stairs ahead of time, but didn't realize how many. With all of us being in our 60's and 70's we made a mutual agreement that we would go out later, and stay out so that we would only need climb them once a day.
- Susan (7/5): - AC either broken or intermittent working
- Griffiths (9/5): Fantastic time - Good location very authentic Very difficult to find originally and much clearer instructions to get there from Rialto are needed
- Chetna (9/5): Absolutely charming and wonderful stay - It was spacious centrally located and everything is beautifully set up. The agent managing the property and my main contact Giulia was just amazing. She made our stay perfect. She very service minded and made our stay super comfortable Everything was perfect
- Marianne (10/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): Overall great experience fir a holiday in Venice. Ho - Location great and very roomy accomodation.
Authentic experience staying in Venice.
Great recommendation re restaurant, and booked boat taxiis for us. Very friendly and helpful host Directions to accomodation could have been clearer.
Couple of air condioning units not working
- Arturo (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Perfect, nothing else to say. - Beautiful property, great location Quite a lot of stairs so not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. But that wasn’t a problem for us.
- Eric (10/5): The seven of us had a wonderful three days in Venice. - Convenient location.
Nice view of the canals from the balcony.
Large spacious rooms in common area.
Very responsive host who was helpful in making our arrival plans and agreeable to letting us store our luggage earlier in the day, prior to check-in time.
- Murali (10/5): Exceptional - Hands down the best stay I have ever had in my life.
A historic building 400 to 500 years old ( So I was told) with ample space for 2 families to be generously accommodated and tastefully decorated with so many artefacts that gave us a regal feeling while staying.
The owner is clearly a connoisseur of art, making each of the 5 bedrooms a unique proposition to stay each night. Not only was the accommodation reeking of comfort, there were also ample amenities to make our stay absolutely memorable.
The dining room was the highlight of all, and the copper cutlery, cups, and plates provided even made us consider recreating "the last supper" image 😀
The host Guilia was fabulous, not to forget she has a one year old that requires her dedicated attention. She was always responsive and was kind enough to send her brother Lorenzo to pick us up from the Rialto ferry station and take us to the apartment in person explaining all the facilities.
But one must have to climb up quite some stairs and thus is not recommended for those with weak knees.
The gorgeous venice settings added their own charm to the apartment, and the stay was totally memorable.
- Holly (9/5): Great location, apartment was very spacious - Great stay, host was very accommodating. Would recommend. We were a party of 8 and were very comfortable with these accommodations.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - I'm a professor from the States. I brought students to Venice to hole up and write ghost stories. This was the perfect homebase. Huge. Atmospheric. Very comfortable. Great view. Great location. Unique decor. Quiet courtyard. They say Venice IS imagination. This was imagination, too. Nothing.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Loved the spacious
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional - autentic venezian atmosfer 🤩 no
- Joseph (10/5): Only stayed 2 nights .everything so is easy to reach, Rialto bridge in 2 minutes walk - Everything, this apartment is stunning. Quite a few steps to reach as a second floor apartment, would not recommend for anyone disabled, but for others this place was beyond fabulous.
- Clare (8/5): Superb centrally located , character and spacious 1st floor apartment. - Amazing central location. 5 minutes stroll to Rialto and exceptional views of three canals from windows. Enormous space and loads of character. Shabby chic! Was met personally at water dock. No freezer compartment and ice machine broken . 30 degrees all week so needed ice ! Poor shower flow and temp regulation. Balcony windows need shutters or blinds as very hot without shade. Facility needed to pay tourist tax online /by card.
- Courtneyb17 (9/5): It's a real-life Palace!!! - What a place! This palace was over the top, it made us feel like royalty! Traveling with 3 adults and 3 teenage boys, we all had our own rooms and bathrooms for the most part. We used the dining room the first night and stayed up talking until 3 AM! The balcony and sitting area were the boys' favorite spots to hang out when they weren't out wandering the streets. We loved that the entrance was in a dead-end courtyard. The location was close enough to the Rialto and Piazza San Marco but still far enough away that we didn't feel like tourists. This may be our new favorite spot to stay when we visit Venice in the future. Given that it was a large early-century palace, air conditioning "penguins" were only available in 2 of the rooms while the others had fans. Staying here in the middle of summer was probably not the best idea but a shower at night before bed helped keep everyone cooler when sleeping.
- Simeon (8/5): Very good - The facilities Place looked tired, furniture worn, floor needed revarnishing, walls repainting.
Clearly no investment over the years in keeping the property in good condition
- Narcissa (6/5): We had a nice stay! - The property was nice and big in great location! There was not a/c in all the rooms so it was extremely hot! Very did leading since it said it had a/c
- Williams (8/5): Spacious apartment in excellent location for touring Venice; close to Rialto, Piazza San Marco, etc. - Property contact exceeded my expectations. She was responsive, helpful, friendly and accommodating! She met us right away and showed us around, booked water taxis for us and was always available to answer questions.
Very spacious apartment with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, which was perfect for 9 people. Lots of areas to hang out in, which was nice.
The rooms with the portable air conditioners were comfortable, but other rooms were very warm in June.
Apartment was old, but quite clean, especially the bathrooms, which was a nice surprise! Keys were difficult to use at the building door.
More fans would be helpful since it was very warm inside.
Lots of stairs, so just be aware for older people and for luggage!
Not enough hot water for 9 people, unfortunately.
- Lyndsey (6/5): Wonderful apartment but not for a stay with young kids. - This apartment is truly unique and authentic and we loved this vibe. The location was outstanding. And the experience felt so traditional. The views were exceptional. The host was very helpful with suggestions and we felt we could easily contact her. Unfortunately we were contacted a total of four times (over less than 48 hours) to ask our kids to be quiet. This really affected our enjoyment. Our children were thrilled to arrive at the apartment and their excitement was a highlight for us. Our children loved to play for about 90 minutes per day as we were out most of the time. We were told repeatedly how old the building was and that in Venice people like to not upset their neighbours (this is of course the same in Scotland) but I think after 500 years it was not going to be our children who destroyed the building and I’m glad to say they didn’t. If we had been warned about how important it was for children not to play we would have not booked our stay. Sadly i cannot recommend if you are travelling with young children. However I would definitely recommend for a group of adults who plan spend little time or be quiet in the apartment
- Susan (10/5): If you have a large group, this is a beautiful property to rent in Venice. - Wonderful property. It has beautiful canal views out of most of the windows. The property is very well located near the Rialto bridge. Giulia was very helpful to us. We liked that we could wash our clothes before continuing on our family trip. We also liked being able to prepare food. The kitchen has everything needed for a large group. There were 8 of us on the trip and we had lots of room to spread out. There are a lot of stairs to reach the property, but it was worth the climb. New mattresses for the property would be good, but the linens were cotton and clean and the pillows were great.
- Caron (10/5): Fabulous authentic apartment in the centre of Venice - Right in the centre of the city, it’s close to everything. The apartment is really authentic Venice with every room different in decor. The apartment and beds are comfortable and opulent.
Communication was great and any questions were answered really quickly.
We were a little apprehensive before arrival about the stairs but although quite a lot of steps they were absolutely fine to navigate, and being a little higher gave us great views of Venice from the balcony.
We were a group of 7 ladies in our 60s and had a great time. I can’t say there was anything we didn’t like about this property.
- Gary (10/5): excellent property and an excellent location. - Location excellent, Property excellent, facilitator excellent. Dont change change anything. 1. Door lock tempremental. Easier access would be better, though once we got the 'nack' it was a little easier getting in.
2. As you are right on the corner of two canals the morning 'rush hour' can be a little noisey! closed windows make it a little better, but this may be an issue during the summer.
- Delphine (9/5): Fantastic palazzo for 6 in a premium location - Fantastic location Apart from the 3 huge en-suite double bedrooms, the 2 small ones are quite depressing
- Olivier (8/5): Large apartment in beautiful location - The location is great. The apartment is huge. The 3 double bedroom are super large and beautiful. The whole apartment has a nice feeling.
Very easy to arrive from a private transfer the dock is 2mn walk away.
Very responsive host and keen to help and make our stay as best as possible. The small bedrooms in the back are very dark and really small.
All the bathrooms need a lifting. They don't match with the expectations you might have when paying a certain amount for a location.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Betty (10/5): Typical Venetian flat at 2min from Rialto - Super atmospheric flat, typically Venezia!
- Tracy (8/5): The hosts are absent wonderful. Guiliana went above and beyond reserving our transfers to/from - Excellent location Hard beds
- Lutz (9/5): Superb - a charming Brockenhaus with beautiful, large rooms, large and clean beds with bathrooms. We would come back even if you can't find it on your own. unnecessary amount of dust catchers
- Deborah (7/5): Overall value for money in the heart of Venice and would recommend for a short visit. - Perfect location near rialto bridge overlooking small canals, the views were amazing from the master bedroom and main dining areas. Very spacious with each room having its own unique style and decor.
Host was very accommodating and helpful providing us with information on how to access water taxis and how to get around Venice. Not enough toiletries only a few sachets of shampoo were available for 8 people. Lots of steps to apartment so not suitable for those with poor mobility. Apartment was charming as described however floors were creaky and large rugs that were put down were a slipping hazard. Wi-Fi connection was poor with only a few of us being able to connect.
- Steve (10/5): A beautiful property offering a unique and authentic experience. - Beautiful property with an interesting history. Brilliant location - close enough to be convenient but also nice and quiet. Our host was friendly and very helpful. Nothing to mention
- John (9/5): Spacious apartment in fabulous location very helpful host - Very helpful host, fabulous location, spacious apartment with stunning views from the dinning area and main bedroom.
- Louise (9/5): Gorgeous apartment in an amazing location. - Gorgeous apartment in an amazing location next to the Rialto . Very spacious and catered for our large party extremely well. Host was very helpful and very easy to contact to answer questions. Highly recommended. No kettle! Beds very very firm
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (9/5): Superb - Wow what an incredible place, we loved it. The apartment had so much character. The beds in the 2 smaller bedrooms were rather short for adults and the beds not particularly comfortable but it did not spoil the experience of staying in such an amazing place.
- Lori (9/5): Super cute apartment! Great character and great location! - Our host met us at our drop off point by water taxi which was very nice as it is difficult to find your way around Venice. There are 67 stairs to get to the apartment. With or without luggage, this could be a challenge for guests. Also, the water was tepid and not really hot. They are all on separate water heaters, but we found the same results on all three showers we used.
- Mary (9/5): Beautiful palazzo in a great location - Location was excellent. Loved the grandeur and the historic feel of the property. The dining room was magnificent. Looking over the canal with the breeze blowing through the palazzo from the big balcony doors was really lovely. Bedrooms were very big and spacious. You really felt like you were in your own palace.
The property agent was very available when we had questions and nothing was too much trouble. For the price and the higher end category of the property it was disappointing that there was not even a bottle of water left in the fridge for us let alone a welcome bottle of wine or some fruit - a small detail, but after a long journey and pulling bags through the busy streets with no help, it would have been welcome.
The canals are very very noisy from early in the morning and on one occasion late at night, but this is Venice and should be expected.
I felt that there was a lack of trust when we were shown other rooms which were promptly locked behind us. Perhaps the palazzo has had problems with people booking for 4 but in reality they are more.
Be aware that the palazzo is at the top of 3 flights of stairs and no lift. This was not a problem for us but might be for some people with more luggage
- Jerry (9/5): Superb -
- Susana (10/5): A magical place - HUGE flat - perfect for Venice. Romantic, atmospheric and great value for money. -
- Mad22 (9/5): Unforgettable experience in a large palazzo!!! - The apartment is an ancient palazzo with matching decoration. It's HUGE (we were 7 but fits 9 comfortably). The location is superb, in the heart of Venice with great views to a small canal. It has four bathrooms which is difficult to find for a big groups. Washing machine is a plus. Wifi was poor. There were two routers but still connectivity was not good and performance slow. The palazzo has an ancient decoration and furniture, you have to be in the mood and prepared for that (it's a great experience but don't expect modernity).
- Jutta (9/5): excellent stay, thanks a lot - very nice and spacious
- Jen (9/5): Superb -
- Strag (9/5): We loved it even more than we expected! - we loved the space so that we could all have privacy, yet common areas to spend time together. Well, I am pretty sure we would have still stayed here, but my 81 year old mother had a bit of a hard time with all the stairs. we originally planned on having our father in law who has difficulty walking, we couldn’t have made it up the steps with him. if the listing highlights the stairs, we missed it.
- Kathleen (10/5): Beautiful apartment in Venice - Absolutely stunning apartment. Every room has such beautiful decor, definitely one of the most amazing places to stay. Host was super friendly and available for any questions. Would recommend to anyone stay here. Great location too Everything was great, just a tip, would advise if you struggle on steps there are a few flights up to get here
- Nicky (9/5): Perfect for a large family trip. - The size of the apartment was fantastic
The location was perfect. Only complainti is the creaky floors, but that made us laugh 😃
