Guest Reviews
- Jonathan (7/5): Good -
- Duncan (8/5): Very good - Brilliant location. Had all the facilities we needed, bang opposite the cheesecake café! Walking distance to everything in town. Steps up to bed platform.
- Ella (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! - NOTHING SCAM
I researched accommodations in Malaga and found this apartment, which seemed like the perfect choice for a weekend getaway with my three friends. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment, reminding us of the infamous apartment in The Inbetweeners (you know, the one with the ant infestation).
We travel together regularly, at least once a year, and this is the first time we've ever left a negative review. Upon arrival, we discovered an ant infestation in the bathroom—something we’ve never experienced before. We’ve been to festivals and dealt with insects, but this was beyond anything we could tolerate. Ants were crawling out of the walls, and it got so bad that we had to avoid using the bathroom altogether, waiting until we were out at restaurants.
We notified the receptionist about the issue, and their suggestion was to buy bug repellent—seriously! We’re a respectful group of women just looking for a safe place to stay, and this was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the pool was closed every evening, so we couldn't even use that.
But here’s the worst part: A MONTH later, the person who had booked the apartment (and provided her card details for the security deposit) was charged £300 without any prior notice. When we questioned this, we were told it was due to damage to the hob and were sent a photo of a minor scratch on the stove. We never even used the stove during our stay, so it’s clear we were being scammed.
If you’re crazy enough to stay here, be sure to record a video of the apartment when you arrive to protect yourself from being scammed like we were. This place is a fraud, and I would not recommend it to anyone!
- Damla (10/5): Would book this studio again! - The studio was located right in the center! Very close (usually max. 20minute walk) to a lot of facillities such as the center, metro/bus, harbor,…
The studio was really clean too!
There were a lot of cups, bowls, pans, hair dryer, iron, hangers,… available which was a very nice surprise since I didn’t see it being mentioned.
Right next to the studio there were supermarkets, pharmacy,… which was very handy.
The receptionist was very nice too! Have been accomodated really kindly.
There were blankets and an A/C too but we didn’t really get the chance to use the A/C (since it wasn’t that hot when we visited malaga, it was around 18-23°C)
At night it wasn’t as noisy as some people have been complaining. You do hear a bit of noise but it is greatly damped (what do you expect if you want a studio right in the center? of course you’ll hear a bit of noise)
The other residents were also very ‘calm’. We barely saw anyone else in the apartment corridors. And the streets felt pretty safe too. My only complaint would be the cleaness of the bathroom itself but that is to be expected from all hotel/hostel/…
I wish there would’ve been more mirrors. Especially a full body mirror.
The pool is not private. It is a bit bigger looking than in the pictures but do not expect an olympic swimming pool. The pool was clean, but we didn’t get to use it since the water was very cold (not a great combo with a mild windy weather).
- Buurman (9/5): Superb -
- Mj (7/5): All in all not bad - The flat is ok for few days stay, great central location. Rather clean. Good kitchenette. Quite loud at nights due to footfall and deliveries. Acceptable though. Have to be careful with steps at night also
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eimear (2/5): Very disappointed in the facilities and service from the host. Led to a very stressful holiday. - The location was the only good thing about this accommodation - this is the only reason I'm giving a 2 instead of a 1. It was close to a nice area of the old town (5min walk) where you can find good restaurants and bars. There is a rooftop swimming pool but the pictures make it look bigger than it is. Broken fridge - we bought beers on the first stay that stayed warm the whole time. Electricity fault so electricity turned off at least twice a day (we had to reset a switch on the fuse box to fix - but if it happened while we were out the aircon stopped and the apartment was an oven when we returned). Poor aircon - took a long time for the apartment to cool down. Not enough bedding provided for 4 people. 3 towels provided for 4 people. 1 roll of toilet paper for a week for 4 people. Very uncomfortable bed & sofa bed (we all went home with sore backs). Poor communication from host (taking days to reply or not replying at all). A lot of cockroaches in the apartment. We were told we would be fined if we did not take out the rubbish - but were not told where to take it out to. When we were given a vague instruction of "turn left and walk 30seconds" - there were no bins found anywhere. We ended up carrying the rubbish everyday to a far away dumpster. We were hoping for a relaxing holiday but it was extremely stressful and uncomfortable - if you want to enjoy your time in Malaga, please book somewhere else!
