Guest Reviews
- Leonardo (8/5): -
- Beryl (8/5): Very good - The position was amazing and the owners were very responsive when we asked for a new frying pan. The stairs to the apartment were difficult, especially with bags. It would have been nice to know that we were on the 3rd floor before we booked. And the shower was incredibly tiny with nowhere above floor level for soap and shampoo, bending was impossible and you had no room to dry yourself outside of the shower.
- Sandra (8/5): Very good - Great location
- Lisette (9/5): Superb -
- Maci (6/5): A very smelly yet cute little apartment. Best to stay here only if you’ve lost your sense of smell. - Great location next to the central market, a very cute little apartment with a lovely bathtub. I’m torn on how to rate this stay because the place is genuinely really cute. However, as soon as you open the door you are hit with a smell that is absolutely PUTRID. I’ve seen other reviews say it’s a bit of a sewer smell from the sink - No. It’s a dead animal smell that is throughout the kitchen and living area. They had lots of air freshener so we used nearly all of that, to no avail. All of our clothes now reek of that smell so we have had to do laundry elsewhere. I cannot express how bad this smell is. Most reviews mention this so it’s clearly an ongoing problem. Honestly I feel this needs to be resolved before it’s appropriate to list this place to stay.
- Geneviève (10/5): Lovely home away from home! - The apartment is so lovely! It was clean and very comfortable. We extremely appreciated the AC. We also loved having a mini kitchen and we were happy to do a small load of laundry. So nice to have a home away from home. Location was perfect, we walked from the train station to get there. The host replied quickly to all our text messages and was very helpful. We discovered an exceptional restaurant just across the street. Highly recommend and would definitely come again. Nothing
- Buiglishvili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (3/5): Poor - Straightforward check-in process. There was a terrible smell from the drainage, the air was overall very damp and foul. It was not possible to let a lot fresh air inside because of the surrounding ventilation from the restaurants. The place did not feel safe at all
(every door in the house was damaged because of an obvious breaking and entering). It would be worth to mention in advance, that the entrance and the stairs are extremely narrow (entrance not even 50 cm wide). Very loud neighbours - vacuum cleaning at 2:00 in the morning and loud music. Everything was more than audible because of the very thin walls. In the end, the photos are kind of misleading, taken with perfect artificial light, the reality hits different. Had we been charged half the amount, we would have considered it acceptable and appropriate deal for the city centre. Overall, first disappointment after about 10 years of using Booking.
- Emma (8/5): A perfect location and an easy check-in. We'd book again! - The location was perfect and the check-in was really easy. There was a very handing luggage storage place nearby. Although the flat is small, it doesn't feel cramped. We'd book again! The bath in the bedroom was a bit baffling! There was a little noise from the neightbours. We were only told that we needed to leave city tax in cash in the check out instructions on the morning of the last day, which led to a bit of a panic on our last morning.
- Laura (9/5): The perfect apartment for a stay in Florence - The location was amazing, right in the city centre. It was easy to get into the apartment as we were sent an access code, and then collected physical keys once we entered the building. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we could need, including cooking facilities. The hosts were communicative, letting us know when the septic tank was going to be emptied, making us unable to use the water There was a slight damp smell in the kitchen/ lounge quite frequently.
- Kiritkumar (6/5): Pleasant - It was centrally located and easy to reach various historic places
Kitchen was adequate and equipped. Good to prepare one's meals
Air conditioning was a blessing. Gave us a good night sleep. We are elderly and have difficulties in climbing staircases. The staircase was narrow and had high steps. Carrying a huge suitcase on the staircase, nearly killed us. A huge challenge for people with disabilities and are elderly.
The term sheet said toiletries will be provided but we found none. Called the owner who said they do not provide toiletries. She promised to get back to us in 30 minutes but did not have courtesy to call us back. we sent her the term sheet by email which was never acknowledged or replied to.
The term sheet said the apartment had a city view. We were looking out into a very narrow street with shops which were very noisy..
- Liberty (3/5): Good Location but sewage smell ruined it - The apartment is centrally located, near mercato. Near restaurants. It is near the train station. a few minutes walk to Duomo The place reeks of sewage specially when it rains. We left one day early as all our clothes and stuff smells of sewage and cannot sleep because of the smell. I had to wash all our clothes after leaving as the smell lingered. Also the stairs is hard to use even though I only have carry on. Washing machine doesn’t have a dryer. air dried clothes smelled so bad like sewage.
- Donna (7/5): Great location, Small apartment but would stay here again. - The apartment is located right in the heart of everything. Short walk to Santa Maria Novella station and tram to airport. Firstly the stairs if you have big suitcases is a killer. Apartment is on second floor and stairs are steep and narrow. Apartment is very noisey from kitchen downstairs.
- Helen (9/5): A little gem in heart of Firenze - Phone call to number provided main door clicked open then code on keypad a voila we’re in. The staircase leading up to the apartment is reasonable steep. I have problems with stairs.. both directions, initially it was a challenge, but I managed, so don’t let this stop you from considering this apartment. The loud music from neighbours in the evenings
- Hayley (5/5): Great location but bad drain smell spoils it. - Self catering, great location, compact but ok, no tv. Bad smell in flat, in the morning it could be knock out strong and they know its there because of the air fresheners dotted around the place. Bathroom sink plug gets jammed in and you can't drain water and grit continuously falls from ceiling to make whole place gritty.
- Christopher (7/5): The centrality and historical nature of the apartment, ensured we felt part of the busy city. - The location could not be better. It is a mediaeval building and it was intriguing to live in such quarters Unfortunately there was a strong smell from the kitchen sink drain throughout the visit. The first time we used the bath mat, the floor left it very dirty.
Unlike other such accommodation, there was almost no information about the area, in this case Florence.
The staircase to the flat is narrow, winding and steep and there would be substantial problems for older and/or less able visitors
- Pablo (1/5): Avoid - Location was good Sewer smell all over the place, host was unresponsive, when they finally replied they apologized and promised to take a look, then nothing happened, didn’t even answer to my follow up.
Bed was uncomfortable, bathroom was tiny, no basic amenities, not even a bedside table. They do the bare minimum just to take your money.
- Laura (9/5): Very good! - The host was very helpful. It was great having a kitchen and washing machine.
- Giray (6/5): Pleasant - Good location cleaning, uncomfortable table and chair for 3 people
