Guest Reviews
- Sally (2/5): Sure, the view is great, but a stay at a hotel would be comparable as the facilities aren’t useable. - The view is great and that’s about all it’s got going for it.
Our greeter, Haithem, was kind, helpful and very quick to respond to any questions. Avoid Clean BnB or any management run properties. A hotel with a view would be comparable as the kitchen was not very usable. The apartment is in an old building so some aspects were expected but this rental goes out of its way to ensure you don’t use the amenities it has.
The place is run down and so many things were broken. Window shutters were difficult to use and had to be frequently shut, cutting down on the view, as most of the anchoring hooks were broken and strong winds cut through the late afternoon. There were threats of misuse fines posted on the windows that were impossible to comply with because of the broken hooks!
If there are any essentials within the apartment, it is from the generosity of a previous renter (including toilet rolls).
Bedroom: I was skeptical about reviews claiming the bed is hard. They weren’t kidding. It’s hard, but the worst part was the paper thin pillows. For the cost of rent, you’d think they could refresh the pillows once in a while.
Little to no kitchen essentials are provided. There is a dishwasher and no soap for it so we bought some. It’s obvious that the dishes have been run through a dishwasher with no soap as they were greasy when we went to use them.
There is an oven and a stove but the rental company does not provide items which would allow you to easily utilize this aspect of the apartment. No knives, no cutting board, one thin hot pad, no wine glasses; only an assortment of tea cups.
Laundry: there is no clothing rack, save for a broken one that needs to be mounted to a wall. So the use of a washer requires some creativity to dry your clothes.
Bathroom: don’t be intimidated by the warning on the autoclave. 100 liters per hour refresh is more than plenty of water for a reasonable 10-15 minute shower, dishwasher, and general toilet use.
For a £50 cleaning fee, the living room table was covered in dust and I had to wipe it clean. The couch has seen better days and desperately needs an upholstery cleaning.
