Guest Reviews
- Carol (6/5): Convenient - Tv with Canadian channels instead of Asian.
- Eric (7/5): - Excellent value for the price. Very clean and convenient
- Bill (10/5): - 5 min drive to Red Mtn, 2 min to Rossland. Very roomy...a very comfortable bed!! Quiet location.
- Pierre-M (8/5): - Situation près de Red Mountain Cuisinette bien équipée mais pas de table pour manger

- Allen (9/5): Had stayed at this property before and would do so again -
- Tsering (8/5): Very good - Great location and amenities for a solo traveller who wants to be close to the ski hill.
- Greg (2/5): Don’t bother, drive right by - I didn’t like that they had no office. Didn’t collect keys. Stopped in the day before to see if the had a room. Just some random guys siting in the parking lot said there was no office. Gave me his land lords phone number. Seemed pretty bizarre. Left and got a room else where for 3 nights
- Yuhara (9/5): Convenient - Simple, well stocked, quiet.
- Csteury (9/5): Superb - Well thought out, good value, clean, nice kitchen. Also good location if you're skiing at Red Mountain!
- Karl (5/5): Okay excepting the computer problem. - Well designed -thought out- rooms for us skier types. Comfy bed. Hot water. Quiet neighbors. good parking. Poor lighting; bulb out in the main overhead light. bedside lamp too dim to read by and not handy to use. No light at all in the "kitchen/desk" area. Had to use a headlamp to see to do much.
The wifi never did get connected as the router codes did not work, though we tried several times to get help through the booking co, other guests, and finally got a number for the manager (off site) who we called, had to leave call-back numbers, but never got a return call. Missed several important messages due to no access to the wifi. Very aggravated and disappointed that there was no live person to help with the problem and the booking Co was no help at all.
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent!!!! - The affordability and it was super clean and nice comfortable
- Stephen (8/5): Very good value for money. Comfortable and met all our basic needs (even if it was no frills). - Good value for money. Had all the basics and was a very comfortable stay for the price. Very warm despite the freezing temperatures outside.
- Melvin (8/5): Great. - The space. The bed was comfy. Lots of towels provided. The bottom cupboards were not clean. The oven was not clean. A couch would have been a bit more comfortable.
- Sameena (10/5): Private. Clean. Affordable. -
- Dawson (9/5): Superb -
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roger (8/5): Very good -
- Chuck (10/5): We love Red Mountain & Rossland, BC - Location was great! Friendly maintenance worker, Alfred,on site upon arrival was great to visit with>and I was able to get door codes immediately upon request from the property manager, Chris. Chris also was great with supplemental local knowledge of the Rossland/Trail communities. Nuttin'
- Mo (8/5): great value. - not applicable I would prefer to have a couch in the living room rather than another bed but I can see why it is there as this motel caters to long term stays.
- Siwel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Solange (10/5): Clean with certain comfortable beds and bedding. Great value for the cost. Beautiful area. -
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Makenzi (7/5): Good -
- Natalie (9/5): Really nice quiet stay a few minutes away from the town centre! - The motel was surprisingly quiet for being off a main road. It was nice to see a disc golf net around and the maintenance person was very kind and gave good recommendations to us. The room had basically all we needed.
- Evelyn (8/5): Very good -
- Cristy (6/5): Pleasant - The beds were comfortable. All the guests were put at one end of the building and a couple of the guests were loud. You could here the one guy till 1 am outside.
It you have people living there or staying for an extended time maybe put the other guests at the other end of the building.
The dishes were very dirty. It looked like someone didn't even wash them and put them back in the cupboard.
The kitchen chair was broken and the chairs in front of the TV were I am sure dining chairs, very uncomfortable.
We have stayed here before under the other owners and it was comfortable but this time it had a different feel to it.
- Siwel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (7/5): Good value and location for a short stay - Good location, spacious room, modern bathroom. Sofa wasn’t comfortable and bed was a bit saggy. We had a couple of issues with the electricity and cleanliness but these were addressed quickly with the property.
- Ross (7/5): good value for the motel - clean rooms, value for the stay, fully stocked kitchenette suites comfy beds and quiet location to hard to contact the owner/manager, no contact posted while at the motel. we only had one room code and had to wait several hours to finally be in contact with the hotel owner/manager and receive our second room code

- Jill (4/5): Disappointed - Tv didn’t work, no glass for a drink, no hairdryer. Room very dismal not cozy , fold up chairs very uncomfortable. Room looked like all the extra furniture had been put in room: bunk beds, assortment of tables. Very uncomfortable apart from bed. Not a place to relax after skiing
- Ryan (8/5): I was very pleased with the accommodations. - Lots of hooks to hang gear, but no close heaters so tough to dry gear. Very clean. Bathrooms were above expectation. Nice temperature control in the space. Lots of natural light during the day. Convenient location close to ski hill and town, with a vehicle There could have been one or two more items like even a basic pour over for coffee and a grinder. Or a few more items to make meals.
Not great lighting after dark.
- Rosen (8/5): Very good - Comfortable beds, fast Wi-Fi, sparkling clean,
Location close to ski resort and town. Not enough lights in living room.
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (9/5): Superb - helpful service through chat on the app
- Wiseman (9/5): Excellent weekend away to visit with family - The location was excellent for our needs. Everything was super for our needs.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable for sleeping. Once we figured out how to contact the property they were quick to solve any problems that arose. There was supposed to be a couch to sit on in the room but there was none. The one chair that was with the small desk was very uncomfortable. It was had to sit on the bed to watch the TV. There was no cable and no instructions on how to get the TV to work. And no instructions on how to get extras, coffee or towels, or help if needed. The instructions in the room were from previous owners and the hotel name is not the same at the property as what was booked.
- 384chips (6/5): They DO try to please, but... - Our outdoor group stayed at the Rossland Motel for the second year running and, while I can commend Bree and her partner for making an effort, I can't say that they've been completely successful. On the positive side, the location is wonderful for those wanting to ski Red Mountain or backcountry in the Rossland Range or XC at Blackjack. The room with kitchen facilities that we had was roomy enough, warm and clean. The ski boot drier was much appreciated as were the many hooks on the walls for drying gear.
Problems arose in blocking off a set of rooms for our group. Compounded by language challenges, it was difficult to be sure of just what arrangements had been made. Emails were not sent automatically to confirm the arrangements, had to be requested and when sent did not included prices.
One couple dropped out of the trip because, on calling the Motel, they were told no more rooms were available. This was not the case. There were at least 3 still blocked off. They were also given a much higher room rate than we had previously spoken about.
Our room had a malfunctioning toilet on at least 2 occasions.
I don't believe that the hot tub was working. It showed no signs of use.
- 856tomast (2/5): Over-charged and lied to - Made a reservation for a 3 people in a suite with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Was given a room with 2 beds (not 2 bedrooms) and no kitchen, but was still charged for the more expensive room. When I asked how they planned to fix the problem, the woman at the front desk told me she was going to charge me $10 more per night because the reservation was for 2 people, not 3 (this was a lie). She then told me that if I wanted to move into the suite I had booked, I had to pay another $30 per night, even though I'd already paid for the more expensive room.
Avoid this place at all costs.
- Maps41757239582 (2/5): Booking Disaster - I booked in January on Hotels.com. About 2 1/2 weeks ago, the hotel called and asked me to rebook with them directly. I rebooked, and 2 weeks later I get a phone message asking me to call about a credit card issue. When I called back, they had given my room away. I perceive they were scheming to address a problem with being overbooked. I would not recommend booking with this hotel.
- frances2615 (8/5): Very good stay, good ammedities - Very nice rooms - came with good sized fridge, microwave, oven/stove top, kettle, coffee maker, tv, etc.. Beds were very comfy and we all had great sleeps. Would recommend for anyone staying in Rossland. Not next to everything, about a five/tn minute drive the main town area.
- CaseyMarie820 (10/5): Great ski motel - Clean, quiet, hot tub, ski tune room and next to Red Mtn - perfect ski motel! The town of Rossland is wonderful with some tasty restaurants and a great grocery store. We were very happy with our stay at the Rossland Motel!
- Anja55 (4/5): Great for a single who only wants a pizza delivery and doesn't want to shower ;-(( - Why do you place a bad when it is absolutely impossible to fill it with warm water? You can't even take a long shower ;-((
We had the business room: the kitchen(ette) was a water heater on top of a microwave on top of a fridge - we have seen that many times but I would not call that a kitchenette....
- Kawakwa (6/5): Ski trip - Clean old style motel... stayed there with some buddies to ski Red Mountain... owners are friendly and are very helpful... close to both Red Mountain and downtown Rossland... reasonable spot to stay when skiing Red
- stevee263 (8/5): Ideal ski accommodation - Booked on short notice.Arrived late .changed booking at last minute. I'm sure every moteliers nightmare! Couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.we will definitely be staying here again.
Not the most glamorous of accommodation. But clean, warm and well appointed.nice and quiet.close to town.close to ski hill.
- 341denisem (10/5): Excellent service! - Lovely, charming little motel! I came to Rossland for work and spent just about a month here. The room was basic, but very clean with a comfortable bed and a nice little kitchenette. It had everything I needed. Bree and her husband are very kind and accommodating people. It was a wonderful stay and I really hope to be in this area again next summer!
- babs1316 (6/5): Clean & Basic Room - We stayed here while on a motorcycle trip, we were only there for a night. Room is renovated, clean and the bed was comfortable. For the price we would stay here again, and the customer service was great.
- MrDortay (2/5): Horrible Service and Lies, worry about your reservation! - We reserved a room directly with the hotel, as opposed to one of the travel sites to save the Hotel the referral cost. We drove 6 hours, once we were within an hour of the motel we got a call from them saying that they gave up our room and that they had booked us in another hotel across the street. When we called the hotel across the street they said they didn't have a reservation for us and they were full. The only other hotel we could stay in was over double the price. We tried to recoup the added cost from the Rossland motel. but they refused. The sad thing about it is there was another guest they did the same thing to that night at the hotel we stayed at, and the Rossland Motel covered their room. If you want to worry about your reservation feel free to book, otherwise there are other motels I will be booking before this one.
- piercetd (10/5): Excellent Customer Service - Although we never made it to our destination, I am writing to say that this motel has excellent customer service! They were willing to work with us and would have gladly accommodated us if they could have. I would recommend this hotel based on the service I received. Hope to stay there next time we are in the area
- Waxer_11 (8/5): Basic, but great value! - We stayed here quite a few years ago, but the suite we were in this time was clearly newly renovated. Very clean, comfy beds, but a very small space. Maybe too much furniture for a small room. Very friendly and hospitable proprietor. The only issue we had was with a lack of hot water. Not enough for two 5 minute showers back to back. Not a real problem in the summer, but anyone coming for a ski holiday might think differently.
- isabelm388 (8/5): Great Budget Value - We had a family unit (2 bedrooms) with a full kitchen. The suite was basic, yet everything a budget travelling family could ask for: super clean, well laid out, great internet connection, and the kitchen had all the dishes and pots you could ask for. The owners were hard working and kind, and tried hard to please if we needed anything. The best part was the beds. They appeared to be brand new mattresses, and I can't remember when I had a more comfortable sleep.
- MasMacho (6/5): Clean, solid motel - We stayed at the Rossland Motel for two nights. It's a basic & clean motel. The rooms are clean and the kitchenette was well stocked. There is a hot tub, laundry facilities and BBQs. There was a common area to sit outside that also had a hammock. The owners were nice and hard working.
- WorldRover2306 (8/5): Affordable & Clean - The Rossland Motel is perfect for anyone on a budget. The 2 bedroom unit we had was clean and spacious enough for 2 couples. The kitchen had the basics required to cook breakfast lunch and dinner plus a wine opener:) The communal hot tub was clean and a perfect 104 degrees. The motel is only a 10 minute drive to Red Mtn, a 5 minute drive to Rossland or a 5 minute walk to the gas station where a shuttle does pick ups & drop offs. We will most definitely stay here again.
- Ellybelly5 (10/5): Great place to stay in rossland. - Rooms lovely and clean. Only a short 15 minute walk into town, or you can get a free bus. Owner very helpful and welcoming. Free coffee and handmade cookies in the morning. Beds super comfy. Really can not fault this place. Great value for money. Would definitely return :-)
- PeteJaffray (8/5): great room and price - Stayed a few nights, room is clean, beds are good and the new owner, a chinese lady is very nice and friendly. unfortunately the hot tub did not work,it is a great place for hikers, skiers and mountain bikers.
- Gshortness (10/5): Spacious, comfortable and affordable! - We usually stay here for a couple of weeks when working in area because the suites are spacious, it's clean and the owner is accommodating. When we booked this year we discovered there was a new owner who is amazing! We also found that there was renos done on all the bathrooms and the suites all have 2 flat screens! Definitely the place to stay as far as we are concerned!
- LJB_Family_Traveler (8/5): Great place for budget - We came for the mountain biking in the area and found this great motel that we will return to. The rooms are clean and well maintained with boot dryers and a drying line. I noticed they also have a room for waxing skis and a small laundry room (which after camping 2 days was needed). It is close to Red Mountain, the BC information place and downtown Rossland. I found the beds comfortable and clean. The only downside was our room was right next to the utility room which someone was in at about 5am talking away for a very long time. Ear plugs did not help. There is a hot tub (not needed in 30plus weather). We slept with the windows open so you can hear to highway but earplugs block that. Each room also has a BBQ outside the door.
