• Laura (10/5): - I was planning to surprise my husband and kids staying in a charming alpine lodge while visiting Zalsburg, the Plainstockl apartment at Gasthof Maria Plain surpassed the high level expectations!!!! The apartment is beautiful, the location is espectacular and the big house/hotel is a treasured family business. You can prepare your own meals if your stay is prolonged, we enjoyed a delicious traditional Austrian cuisine dinner in the hotel restaurant ( very good price compared with the city restaurants) and their breakfast. It is 15 min from the old town but you get a view of the city and fortress😁. If you are driving this is your choice!

Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber etwas lieblos. Mit wenig könnte es so viel besser sein. Auch die Atmosphäre im Frühstückssaal erinnert an eine Pilgerstätte.

Not designated parking for apartment guests, although you can find parking all around! Our balcony Apt number 3 had a shared balcony! Next to us was a smoker and the whole cigarette smoke entered our living room!

• Aldona (10/5): Jedno z piękniejszych miejsc, które odwiedziłam. - Wynajęłam dwa apartamenty dla mnie i przyjaciół. Wiedziałam, że są luksusowe. Takie były! Przepięknie urządzone. Na dole sauna i miejsca odpoczynkowe w ogrodzie. Cały kompleks jest położony w centrum wielkiej atrakcji Salzburga, na wzgórzu, skąd rozpościera się najpiękniejszy widok na miasto. Śniadanie obfite i luksusowe. Na miejscu jest też restauracja z doskonałym jedzeniem. To idealne miejsce na dłuższy pobyt. Mnóstwo tu tras spacerowych i rowerowych.

• Dita (8/5): - Čistý, prostorný, dobře vybavený apartmán Nebyla v provozu sauna ani vířivka, paní provozní po rezervaci volala a řekla mi, že mají zavřeno a nemůže nám tedy dát snídani. Zaplatili jsme ale pobyt i se snídaní přímo přes booking. Nakonec nám vrátila 50 euro. Nemohli jsme se do ubytování dostat, telefon měl záznamník, ačkoliv nám paní slíbila, že na nás počká a 2x volala v kolik přijedeme….
• Matt (8/5): A place to savour and not pass through - Outside and in (including the surrounding area), this place is absolutely stunning! The apartment was beautifully clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were lovely and provided a delicious breakfast, with plenty of choice. However, it did feel slightly understaffed on our second day there (Saturday), with one lady serving lots of people. Due to the amazing setting, it was expensive. Furthermore, not knowing Salzburg, we didn't realise there are no good transport links to get to and from the guest house. Not a great place to stay with kids, if you don't have a car. We were tired and stressed, so just wanted to get to the accommodation and plan from there. When we arrived we realised there was no shop around for quite a way and, again, no easy way of getting there with a 3 year old. The apartment, didn't have little things like an information pack about the area, salt, pepper or oil. There is a dishwasher (which was still full), but no washing liquid or drying rack to just wash a few little things. The posh coffee and machine is great, but didn't have any little milks with it. All in all, an amazing place! But for a stay rather than passing through.

• Kristin (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful and magical location! The property around was fun to explore. My college age “children” said they felt like they were in a movie set! This was the favorite stay on our family’s European trip. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. The kids loved it so much, they wanted to have dinner here the second night instead of dining in Salzburg. The apartment was perfect for our family of 5. Beds were very comfortable. I would recommend having a car if you stay here. We used trains and public transport everywhere on our trip except for Salzburg.

• Brian (10/5): Lovely end to our 3 week trip through the Alps. - Luxurious high quality 1 bedroom unit with 1 1/2 bathrooms, stocked kitchenette and balcony. Nice sauna and exercise facility in basement. Spectacular view from church and restaurant. Outdoor patio restaurant was lovely and inexpensive. The patio restaurant did not have any English menus. The one poor harried young man waiting on tables, fixing the coffee machine, restocking food and dishes was vanquished and needs help. Hourly church bells might keep lite sleepers awake. You need a car if you stay here. Google maps misdirected us. The chalet is at top of hill next to Gasthaus and church. We didn't have a workable phone and didn't know how to get in through the locked door. By chance I ventured up the road to the Gasthaus and asked the receptionist there for help. Voila, that is the reception area for the Chalet too. Better signage on front of Gasthaus needed

Beautiful views of Salzburg with hiking trails on the property. It took us a few minutes to figure out where to get the keys as no one was at the reception desk when we arrived.
