Guest Reviews
- Kirsten (10/5): - Location was in a fantastic neighbourhood - easy walking distance to the central tourist area. Apartment was lovely. The layout was very good for 2 couples. Loved that we could sit outside and watch the world go by. Nothing
- Paula (8/5): - Great location. Some dampness in downstairs bedding.
Dirty dishes left in dishwasher.
- Hao Nan (8/5): - Great and accomodating and helpful hosts, lovely property. The dryer left a scent of vomit on the clothes
- Maria Florencia (9/5): Completa y funcional - Muy completa.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good - The location was excellent and it was ground floor The downstairs bedroom was damp smelling and the beds were hard to access if you were a couple.
- Robert (9/5): Great! Thanks for the stay. - The apt is in a quite nice neighborhood. Everything we wanted to do in Amsterdam was walkable. Very nice.
- Vanessa (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nancyw (9/5): Great location. Staying among locals. Felt part of the city!!!! - Location was great. Grocery stores nearby. Pubs nearby. Attractions nearby. Just wonderful!!!!! Stairs are steep.....
- Pauline (10/5): fantastic stay - The area is lovely, the host was very helpful if we asked a question. Great bar just down the road, great music and not too expensive! Central could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Apartment had everything we needed, really clean and comfortable. nothing
- Manuel (7/5): Good - The apartment is easy to reach and not far from the center. The area around is lively, with a lot of friendly bars and restaurants. In summer, the small private garden area surely offers a great spot to relax, I presume. When we arrived, the apartment wasn't yet cleaned. The issue was, however, very quickly resolved by the owners, so it wasn't much of a problem. If you go there in the winter month, you should note that the heating cannot be set to more than 20°C, and it doesn't even reach that temperature if set, which makes the apartment rather chilly.
- Kirsty (9/5): Great stay - wonderful location & an apartment with everything we needed for our comfort! - Great location, everything we needed and full of character
- Jordan (10/5): If your thinking of booking I would recommend it - Property is in a good location, Coffeeshop Paradox is a stone throw away from the accommodation a small walk right into the city centre. No complaints with the property itself the bathroom exceeded my expectations which was a comfort, the beds are unbelievable comfortable too. I had food delivered to the apartment multiple times never had a problem locating me No real cons to mention, only con I could think of is that there’s no TV in either bedroom just more of a personal preference. There is a TV in the living room which works fine
- Hannah (10/5): Excellent property, very comfortable and great location. - We really loved the location of this property. It was also very comfortable for our little family.
- Carla (9/5): We loved it!! - The location was excellent. Owner very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We would certainly recommend to anyone looking to explore the beautiful city of Amsterdam. The only reason for not giving 10/10 was the beds and seating area were not very comfortable. They were fine for a few days but sitting to watch tv/read a book could have been more enjoyable with a comfy sofa.
- Chels (5/5): Passable - I liked the wooden bedroom downstairs, very quirky! You didn’t know which red door you were going into, the shower was cold for 2 days, because it has a 100L stop on it? Cob webs everywhere. The bed freezing the bedroom was cold! Stayed Thursday till today (Sunday) and Jolanda came down to fix the batteries for the heater. It was nice and cosy, but she states on the paperwork keep the noise down, well you can hear everything that they say?
- John (9/5): Excellent, well-kept apartment in a really good location to explore Amsterdam from. - Very clean apartment. Very convenient for many places to eat and drink and explore the city from. Small bed spaces, but very comfortable beds and absolutely fine for anybody without mobility problems.
- Micky (6/5): Pleasant - Just a couple notes would make it 9 rating rather than 6....The beds are just too small (in between a double and a single), but the worst thing is the bed on ground floor is positioned so that it means someone has to crawl over the top of the other person to go to the loo! Not great if you pee several times a night!
Hand wash should really be provided by the bathroom sink - I'm an air bnb Superhost and this to me seems a very basic item that should always be supplied! Especially with all the colds and covid!
Some milk on arrival in Fridge would also be nice gesture.... perhaps this is just a UK thing!?
Apart from the above... the apartment was warm, beautifully clean and in a great location! :-)
- Ian (10/5): Loved it - Fantastic location, atmospheric, beautiful local area, very friendly. Good restaurants/pubs nearby. Great apartment, plenty of room for four adults. A toaster would a great addition, and a couple of hand towels (bathroom/kitchen)
- Ron (8/5): We very much enjoyed our stay. Workers next door were sightly disruptive. Cost was high for Canadian standards but Price - Great location. Well outfitted with most kitchen equipment. Plenty of towels. No toaster. Needs better instructions for washer/dryer. No hand towels or face clothes. Ceiling above basement bedroom needs to be cleaned. One more comfortable chair would be nice but space was limited.
- Luke (3/5): Location amazing. Would find another apartment though - Location Stairs should have had hand railing as they were extremely steep going downwards backwards. Mattress dirty. No outside hanging space and storage pathetic. Owners kept coming in or trying to come in and advertisement says soundproof. Got to be kidding . No privacy
- Jessica (9/5): Great location and lovely house - Really great location- everything in walking distance.
Plenty of space and very cozy
Had everything you needed for the stay Nothing
- Suzanne (9/5): Superb -
- Jose (8/5): Excellent option to visit Amsterdam - Location is excellent, quite and very close by walk to many places of interest in AMS, host always pending on the guests, and even after the stay, we forgot a Remote Control and they send it back to us, this was honestly very appreciated. The location of one of the bedrooms, but tbh not a major issue. We need to be understand that we are going to stay there only for few days,
- Georgia (7/5): Great location and property for our Amsterdam break - Brilliant location convenient to visit all the main attractions in Amsterdam. Good range of restaurants bars and cafes nearby. Jolanda provided some great recommendations. Comfy beds!
- Sharon (7/5): Disappointed, not what we expected. We were two couples and it was not suitable - Good location in a residential area so nice and quite Steep stairs to second bedroom, quite dangerous
No air conditioner
Courtyard full of weeds so not pleasant to sit out there
Second bedroom, had to climb in via foot of bed
First bedroom had to climb over the other person to get into bed
- Lisa (5/5): Disappointing - Location. - [ ] Dyson full of dust & dirt
- [ ] Bump in Lino floor dangerous
- [ ] Wet towels left in dryer
- [ ] Microwave had crumbs in it
- [ ] Bedroom cupboards hard to open due to moisture expansion
- [ ] Toilet smelt strongly of urine
- [ ] Excessively noisy people upstairs loud stomping slamming doors
- [ ] No room to walk around bed in upstairs room
- [ ] No bedside tables
- [ ] Too dark in bathroom to put on makeup
- [ ] basically, way overpriced compared to other apartments we’ve stayed in major cities, disappointing lack of care for renters.
- Joanne (9/5): Traditional property set in a fabulous location - would definitely return for another stay. - Location and neighbourhood. Really central and fabulous location to explore beautiful Amsterdam. Apartment had everything we needed and felt like we were locals for a weekend. Getting in and out of bed! The hosts have made the very best of the space available to them and this certainly wouldn’t stop me returning to the apartment. It is a small negative far outweighed by the many, many positives. If you were less mobile and were sharing a bed it could be an issue though.
- Byth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (7/5): Nice stay , great location - good contact on how to get keys
- Alice (7/5): Good - Fantastic location, easy to collect keys/check out, great apartment for four people to share with everything needed for a short break Quite damp, particularly the cellar room
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb -
- Rohit (1/5): Best to avoid - We had a very bad experience at the place and will not recommend it to anyone. Our booking was from 2pm but even at 3:30pm the place was not ready and we are asked to wait outside by the cleaner and eventually received the keys by 4:30pm. Because of the moisture bathroom door couldn't close and door handle was broken. We requested host to allow us 2 hours stay as we got the place 2hrs 30 mins late but the cleaner knocked on the door sharp at 11AM and started abusing me and my family including my elderly mother and child. I've travelled to many countries and been to Amsterdam number of times but thankfully never had such bad experience.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice apartment in a great location with helpful, friendly hosts. Apartment was very clean when we arrived and getting into it was easy using the key box. Bathroom and shower were excellent. Downstairs bedroom very spacious and comfortable. Excellent location and I would stay here again.
- Brad (7/5): Ideally situated and ideal for young couples with no children - Property is in a good location, was clean, and had a good shower and reasonable comfortable beds. There was works being carried out on the house above which was very noisy (door slamming often, coughing, walking around above us), the main bed was as wide as the room so not good if have to get up during the night as have to climb over the other person , the property often felt cold even though the heating was working.
- Gordon (10/5): Great value and location!!! - Great location in Jordaan neighborhood. Jolanda was an excellent host always checking in to assist. Nothing, all was great!!!
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (9/5): Great location in Jordaan with friendly owners and good communication. - Location was great and easily walkable to everything. We visited in March and it was a bit chilly so we definitely needed extra clothes and blankets for the beds.
- Gilles (9/5): Superb -
- Mustafa (1/5): If you like cold house is good but we are from Mediterranean and it s so bad when the owner said this is holland get use - Great location Heating system is not working properly and especially downstairs room is very cold and there is a termostate and it stops itself when 19.5 degrees which is terrible during the night.
- Essen (10/5): Good - Very clear instruction and get response via booking.com. We hope booking.com could allow passing message to property owner ontime once have query, rather than bounced back my email. Nothing.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Great apartment in a gorgeous area, quiet yet lots to see and do. Really nice hosts who live upstairs. Recommended.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Meg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leanne (7/5): A great location to stay in Amsterdam and be able to walk to everything. - Such a great area with lots of lovely places to discover nearby. Nice apartment with a nice amount of living space, including a little outdoor area. Had everything we needed. The bedroom is extremely small and the bed is too short, this was the reason why we could not rate it higher. The downstairs 'bedroom' does not have a door or anything and so noise and light from upstairs can be disturbing but was not too much of an issue.
- Linda (6/5): Great host - It was great location The bedrooms were very small
- Isabelle (8/5): Clean, central but tiny bedrooms - Apartment is very central and equipped with all amenities to make you feel like home, e.g. washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Yolanda has a ist with all the information need from taxi driver (bolt and uber were declining our requests) to favourite restaurants. Bedrooms are tiny. The bedroom upstairs feels like a closet since it touches 3 sides of the room. The person sleeping on the right side of the bed needs to crawl on the bed to get in. The bed downstairs is very high and you can only access it from the front. My daughters had to jump from the stairs to get to bed. When we arrived, this bedroom had a stanch of humidity, which cleared when we switched on the humidifier. I don't suggest it for people with mobility problems or tall people (as they wouldn't fit in the upstairs bed).
- Jayne (8/5): Very good -
- Neal (2/5): Cramped, inaccessible and dirty but with a good central location, but very poor value for money. - The central location of the apartment was perfect and the hosts were warm and friendly. We were unhappy with the accommodation and left after our first night.
For us, the bedrooms and the bathroom were extremely cramped and claustrophobic …. there is only room for one bed in one of the bedrooms, with no space to walk around the foot of the bed, so I had to clamber over my husband to go to the toilet in the night. The property wasn’t clean, the bathroom and the lids on the bins in the kitchen were dirty and I had to re wash much of the crockery and cutlery before using it.
The property was misrepresented in the description - under “Accessibility” the property was described as “Entire unit located on ground floor” which is completely incorrect - there are very steep stairs without a handrail down to one sleeping area in the basement. Our son is dyspraxic, so this was highly problematic. The apartment is not at all accessible.
- Donna (8/5): Good location and facilities. Second bedroom damp after heavy rain (and being below sea level). - The location was really great, so handy for the Jordaan, 9 Streets and the shopping areas.
The facilities were just what was needed, with the microwave, fridge and dishwasher - we saved some money on meals out. The bathroom door was difficult to shut/open and the extrator fan didn't seem to be working.
The main downside was the dampness in the lower bedroom, even with the dehumidifer it was not so nice to sleep in and we certainly felt that 2 nights was about the maximum we'd have wanted to stay.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniele (8/5): Nice apartment in a lovely area of Amsterdam - Nice and well furnished apartment in a lively but very safe area. Cleanliness was excellent. Great communication and collaboration from the hosts, Jolanda and Martin. When the basement got wet because of persistently pouring rain, they immediately came over to check and did all that was necessary to mop up and dry the floor, also by using a dehumidifier.
I would recommend their facility for a vacation in Amsterdam! Wifi was easy to connect to, but sometimes slow. It should probably be improved.
- Mark (6/5): Property in lovely location - Lovely area in Amsterdam and within walking distance to nice bars and restaurants. Jolanda was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Had a slight issue that Jolanda rectified as soon as she could.
Apartment was very basic but had all that was needed for a weekend break. Bedrooms were very small and cramped with very steep stairs down to second bedroom.
Bathroom was also tiny with door very hard to open and close.
Small area of garden in need of a tidy and weed.
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (10/5): Lovely clean apartment with comfy beds. Thank you so much. The apartment was beautiful. - We couldn't seem to find the cutlery in the apartment.
- Rebecca (9/5): fabulous apartment conveniently located in Amsterdam. highly recommend. - great location, near tram, Anne Frank House, restaurants. Comfortable apartment with all amenities. very clean, host in. intact early with instructions as to getting there. nothing
- Gerrit (8/5): Very good -
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional - everything! just amazing value for money, amazing living space will 100000% come back.
good distance from central and lovely food nearby
- David (7/5): Good - central location limited bedroom space
- Alexander (8/5): lovely neighbourhood location - great location.
- Nic (9/5): Superb -
- Caitriona (6/5): Bedrooms were very cramped, with a very steep stairs down to one. the downstairs bedroom seemed to be damp. location was - location bedrooms
- Cheryl-lee (10/5): Fab stay . Fab apartment -
- Becky (8/5): had a fab stay thank you x - The owners were lovely and very helpful. beds are comfortable and the apartment has everything you need for a short break. We had two little problems but owner sorted these straight away. It could have been a little cleaner but it didn’t overly bother us.
- Nick (9/5): we did enjoy our stay you have to compromise for being central for the size of accommodation - quite but my too far away from everything very small bathroom and bedrooms
- Karen (9/5): Great stay, lovely warm apartment that had everything we needed in a great location - Straight forward instructions
- Deborah (8/5): A brief family trip to explore, eat out and see art. It was perfect. - Clean and warm with comfortable beds. Well equipped compact kitchen. Picturesque quiet location, easy to walk everywhere but avoiding crowds. Good restaurants. Host quick to respond to any requests. Nothing - I would rent again on next visit.
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): It was delightful and would come stay again. -
- Ashley (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (6/5): The Ice Box - It was in a central location. There were some nice local restaurants. The supermarket was within a walkable distance. It was an easy tram commute to the station. The heating was unacceptable. Even with all radiators on maximum it was barely habitable. One of the bedrooms had a radiator that was disconnected and it was about 5 degrees. The kitchenette was terrible with dirty coffee machine and dishes and the bathroom / toilet was the size of 2 shower cubicles with smelly towels barely bigger than bath mats. The spare bed was not made up on arrival as arranged and the sheets for it were stuffed into a musty cupboard. The 2nd bedroom was so tiny we could not fit a suitcase. May as well have stayed in a hotel.
- Susan (10/5): We loved it here - Great location, very comfortable and clean. Well equipped, although we didn't bother to do much beyond making coffee there was everything we might have needed. Jolanda was a lovely host, her recommendations for places to eat, getting about all excellent. We loved it and we're so comfortable and happy with our choice. It's a lovely flat but if I had to pick things I would say that the apartment bedrooms can get a bit chilly. I was warm enough but my friend wasn't but she found an extra duvet so all ok (flat is very well equipped). Good to be able to easily adjust the heating thermostat in main room - made it very comfortable. The bathroom is snug - tiny sink for face and hand washing.
- Jimmy (8/5): Very good -
- Martina (9/5): amazing location, fully equipped, comfy beds, nice owner. - comfortable beds, great location, fully equipped with everything (tv, microwave, toaster etc).
very clean, comfortable bedding.
owner very kind, replies promptly to messages snd was flexible about check out.
location perfect, very central but quiet road. bathroom is tiny, sink big enough only to wash hands.
“lounge” option a bit limited (3 out of 4 of us could be comfortable when chilling ).
in one of the bedroom, every hour or so, there is a noise similar to a water or heating pump starting off…lasts a few minutes only.
bedrooms are hobbit-sized, but cute and cosy.
- John (6/5): Pleasant - Excellent location. Very friendly and responsive owners. The general set up of the accommodation was very good. Pictures on walls not same as shown in advert and were unsettling; we suggest reverting to advertised ones. Sitting area in house is not comfortable We didnt have great sleep as.....Construction work taking place in other parts of the house from early morning. Walls are so thin that even every phone message alert from construction guy sounded as if the phone was in our flat. Their front door opening sounds as if its ours (disconcerting). Hearing all the comings and goings of the upstairs neighbours, including 6.30am start on weekdays.
- Nick (8/5): Great apartment for a quieter stay in Amsterdam - Located on a quiet street with nice local bar on the corner. The area felt very safe which was ideal for this trip with the family. Apartment felt a little damp on first arrival and both the floors and microwave could have been a little cleaner.
- Anna (3/5): Poor - Host Jolanda was very accommodating and responsive to messages
Location of property very good Unfortunately we had issues with mice in the property which was not very pleasant. They were coming from a locked cupboard door in the property next to the bathroom. For us, this completely ruined our stay in the property as we were unable to relax.
There were mouse traps in the kitchen so the host is aware of the issue and is still allowing guests to stay in the property.
Secondly the bedroom at the back of the property is damp, the bedding was wet with condensation there was evidence of mould in the wardrobe.
Overall, this property is perfect location but has faults that need to be sorted. We personally would not stay again or recommend this property.
- Lizzi (7/5): Good - Great location with everything you need Large intimidating portraits in every room and over the bed which are not shown in the photos. We covered them with the blankets as they are imposing
The neighbours are very loud and it sounds like they are in the property, also had builders outside at the crack of dawn making a racket for hours
- Scott (10/5): Met all our needs - Great location. Ground-floor access. Had everything we needed.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Adristi (8/5): Very good - the location was very nice, it was near a tram station and close to centrum by walking. Near the apartment there was a lot of restaurants and they also gave recommendations. We really liked the backyard and the kitchen was well equipped. Overall it was a nice stay:) the stairs to the basement was steep and the basement was a little stuffy but still ok
- Ioannis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gwynn (8/5): Very good -
- Deepa (10/5): Exceptional -
