• Paula (10/5): Beautiful traditional Barcelona apartment with lots of lovely extras - The apartment is a beautiful traditional Barcelona apartment with wonderful period features including shutters and a balcony. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are dark at night with the shutters closed. The bathrooms are wonderful with powerful showers and a lovely draw of useful things. The kitchen is well equipped with some lovely treats left by the owners. We really appreciated the little touches that made our stay extra special. Nothing. It was perfect.

Mit allem, was man benötigt. Es gab frisches Obst, frische Eier, Wurst & Käse, Marmelade, … perfekt für den ersten Morgen. Wir würden definitiv wieder kommen. Es gibt nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat.
• Evi (10/5): EXCELLENT STAY! - We had an excellent stay! The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, and the apartment was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need ; even thoughtful extras we didn’t expect, such as fresh bread, eggs, and breakfast items for the next morning. The apartment was spotless, with clean towels provided, and honestly, nothing was missing. The four bedrooms were very convenient and comfortable, especially for a group stay. The location was also excellent, with a metro station nearby, making it very easy to get around. The building itself is beautiful, just like the apartment. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it! The only downside of the apartment was that it was not very soundproof. We had to be extremely quiet at all times, even when talking inside the apartment or entering and leaving the building, because you could hear everything very easily. Apart from that, everything else was excellent.

• Jessica (10/5): Ci tornerei molto volentieri! - L'appartamento era pulito e dotato di tutto il necessario, forse anche di più; Joan è stato super disponibile e ci ha addirittura fornito un passeggino per nostra figlia. La posizione è ottima, noi ci siamo sempre spostati a piedi ma vicino ci sono anche le fermate dei mezzi. Comodo anche per farmacia e supermercati. Zona bella e allo stesso tempo molto silenziosa.

• Ela (10/5): Miejsce do powtórzenia - Bardzo miły gospodarz. Apartament doskonale wyposazony. Joan zrobił nam niespodziankę i zaopatrzył w produkty na śniadanie jajka, ser, wędlina, świeże pieczywo, owoce, wino i całe mnóstwo innych produktów spożywczych. W łazience było wszystko czego kobieta może potrzebować. Dbałość o szczególy, doskonały i bardzo miły kontakt. Joan zaproponował, że możemy zostać dłuzej do czasu transferu na lotnisko nieodpłatnie Doskonała lokalizacja 450 m od dworca autobusowego (transfer Girona-Barcelona) i 400 m od Sagrady. W zasadzie wiekszość atrakcji można osiagnąć na piechotę Apartament jest nieco stary, ale bardzo czysty.

The apartment is spacious and stocked with all kinds of stuff necessary for cooking and going to beach (sunscreen, beach towels, umbrella, etc). Joan was very helpful and kind. He went extra miles to help us rent a wheelchair for my mom. Nothing

• Tsahi (9/5): - Almost everything was perfect and in some cases even more (the owner provided some food, fruits, mineral water and more, this is defiantly and extra to average experience) The mattress. In our room it was really uncomfortable. But this was our only complaint.

• Jake (10/5): Amazing place to stay for groups with spacious bedrooms and excellent hosts. - The Property was in an amazing location and came fully stocked with food and juice for the 3 days we were staying which was completely above and beyond what we were expecting. We wanted for nothing while staying here and I will most certainly be back upon my next visit to Barcelona. Nothing, it was flawless

• Vasiliki (10/5): More than excellent! - Cal Mateu was great beyond our expectations!It is very close to Sagrada Famiglia at a very safe area.We stayed 8 people 4 adults and 4 kids and we were super comfortable.Very nice decorated and clean apartment.Joan was very polite and friendly.He was waiting for us to hand over the keys and he gave us a list of restaurants that we could eat. There were a lot of goods in the kitchen so we could prepare our breakfast in the house such as eggs,milk,juice,fruits and many more.If we go back to Barcelona we will definately stay there.

A great space for a large group of people, with everything you’d need for a long weekend stay. Location was in a good area and walking distance of lots of sights.
• Gumeringer (10/5): excellent property in a great location with a great host. - amazing host and location that was 30 seconds from the bus, 10 minute walk to Sagrada Familia, 10 minutes to the regional rail, and 20 minutes from La Ramblas by walking. the I can’t say enough about both the property and the host and how much classic Spanish charm is in the building. there is a cafe on the corner and markets everywhere. the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and plenty of towels and linens. the property was comfortable even with 8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids). No complaints
• Everton (10/5): Exceptional - Joan was very helpful during the full trip. The location of the apartment is very close to most of the tourist attractions in Barcelona. The apartment is spacious.
• Caroline (10/5): Exceptional apartment, perfect for large families - This is an exceptional property in a lively area of Barcelona within walking distance of many attractions, including the Sagrada Familia and the Arc de Triompf. It had plenty of space for our large family of four adults and four children. Joan is a friendly and helpful host who even provided us with basic groceries upon our arrival, as well as equipment for the baby. I highly recommend this place to other families.
• Ilona (9/5): Superb - The owner of the apartment was super helpful and accommodating. The biggest pros for us was the check in / out time comfort and flexibility! 🙌 Our flights were very early in the morning therefore checking out via WhatsApp was so handy 🙌 Also owner had organised our taxies, gave good recommendations on places to eat, nearby bakeries, shops e.g. The apartment has everything that needs for a comfortable stay. The fridge was full of fresh goodies also kitchen has lots of dry ingredients /cooking oil..etc. An internal walls are well isolated and kind of sound proof. The apartment is about 10min walks from red metro line and about 5min from purple line. Bus 21 is basically across the road and it takes u rite to the beach 🏖 The apartment was spacious enough for 9ppl. Big thanks to Joan and his dad! ☺️🙌 There is kind of vintage smell in the apartment but supposedly because it's an old building.. The room facing main street is exposed to the street noise which at night time gets very load!

• Gerard (7/5): Big apartment for your group! - The location is very good - you can get almost everywhere in 15-20 minutes. The apartment is big-it had four bedrooms which was perfect for our party of 2 Grandparents, 2 Parents and two little ones that are 1.5 and 3 years old. The building is old-approx 100 years, so expect that you will get older quirkiness and some cooler stuff-high ceilings, moulding, old school elevator, marble staircase. The host Juan was also very helpful, and accommodating and addressed most things. He also leaves a nice amount of things for you on arrival-food, supplies-more than most apartments we have stayed in. The building is old, and so are almost all of the furnishings-beds, sofa and equipment. The most bothersome were the very old tile floors. Cleary historic, they need a very deep cleaning. With two little ones running about it became clear quickly from their dirty feet. With a bit of updating this apartment could easily be a 10.
• Sander (9/5): Superb - Absolute gem of a place. we were there with 2 families and loved the space to have some privacy. Great kitchen to cook meals, and plenty of supplies to get us started. Maybe the mattresses can have an update, but that might be personal preference
• Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was large, spacious and well equipped. Juan the host was friendly and helpful. There were thoughtful touches like coffee, bread and spare emergency toiletries. The location was fantastic - about 20 minutes walk from Sagrada Familia and 30 minutes from La Rambla (we had a 3 year old with us who slowed us down, so maybe quicker for others!) The beds were comfy and we all slept well. Aldi / Lidl and several coffee shops and supermercat within 3 minute walk. There is nothing we would change.
• Teresa (9/5): My favorite homr away for home for our group of 8. Having essentials upon our arrival was a super blessing... thank you - Loved our stay at Cal Mateu. The location was great, Convenience store across the street. wonderful bistro for coffee and quick meal on the corner. Our kitchen had awesome goodies and essentials, coffee, water bread, jelly, ham, beer, milk , a delicious chocolate bar and more.
