Guest Reviews
- EInat (8/5): - Nice small unit. Very clean and tidy. The owners were late preparing the place, because the guests that spent the night there before, were late to leave. We recieved a nice cake and drinks from the owners, in appreciation for waiting and as an apology gesture. The unit is in the basement. It is quite dark and has only small windows. There is no view.
- Bonagoni (9/5): Victoria is a great home base, and staying in a lower suite often offers a quieter, more residential - Having a separate bedroom and a living area is much more relaxing than a standard hotel room, especially if you want to unwind after a day of exploring the Inner Harbour While the suite is quaint, the ceiling height is quite low. As someone who is 6 feet tall, I could easily touch the ceiling with very little movement. Taller guests should be aware of the limited clearance.
- Emily (7/5): It was cozy but you can hear footsteps all the time & the smell of the property is musty no proper ventilation - Price Can hear footsteps from upstairs people
- Darren (8/5): Great set up, liked the location, amenities - Location was great for me I knew there were some sound issues, be great if they could mitigate the sound though.
- Sara (9/5): Sehr gute, zentrale Unterkunft - sehr sauber - definitiv zu empfehlen - - gute, zentrale Lage
- gute Ausstattung
- sehr sauber
- gute Kommunikation
- wir durften sogar unser Gepäck eher dort lagern
- Waschmaschine und Trockner
- Kaffeemaschine
- bequemes Bett
- gut eingerichtet - die Unterkunft ist nichts für große Menschen
- Anishma (9/5): Overall it was a good stay - It’s nice quiet space The roof is so down.
- William (10/5): -
- Joanne (8/5): - The unit was well equipped and very clean
Communication with the host was polite and prompt The noise from upstairs
- Matti (8/5): -
- Leanne (8/5): Good value but should have own transportation if staying for any amount of time - It was as described quaint cozy and low ceilings.
It was comfortable for our stay and served our purpose.
Host was very responsive and helpful.
We would stay again if we had our own transportation taxis and Uber eats gets expensive Location was about 15 min out of downtown so spent a lot on taxis and Uber eats.
If you have a rental car it would be much better.
Not enough plugs in bedroom
- Jane (6/5): Comfortable but disappointing. - We liked the location of the bus stop to downtown from the property. This was really good and easy to find. The kitchen was well stocked and very clean and tidy. Having a laundry facility with detergent available was a great help to us. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything we needed. When we booked the property we understood that there was a family upstairs and there might be some noise before the children went to bed. BUT.... we were not aware that there would be considerable conversational noise through the interconnecting door. It was loud enough at times that we found it difficult to listen to the television at normal volume. It sounded like there was more than just a family there having a meal together. The people upstairs seemed to get up at 5.30 am and as a result woke us.
- Deneal (9/5): Would recommend! Cute, clean and affordable place. - Super clean and cozy You could hear the people upstairs talking and walking around quite a bit from the bedroom, but it is expected in a basement space. We personally liked how short the ceilings were because it felt cozy, but if you are taller than 5”5 it might not be super comfortable!

- tametz (8/5): Like the description, it is quaint and served it's purpose - Location was central, easy access to get around.
The property provided for what we needed this visit, and clean.
The area was very quiet.
Priced right. There were some small minor things, nothing you can control when in a shared space. Not a make or break to stay.
Low ceilings (which is noted) I'm short but felt like I had to duck. No big deal tho.
- Maureen (9/5): We loved our stay. - Excellent location for heading out of town for hikes. Not far to drive into town either.
- Sebastian (8/5): -
- E.C. (8/5): -
- Fay (9/5): I loved staying there and have already booked the same place for next year. - I loved the whole atmosphere. It was like living in my own little apartment. It would have been nice to have a fan to improve air circulation.
- Christian (9/5): Superb - It was clean and easy to access. Quiet neighborhood.
Everything is there what you need.
Would stay again N/A
- Amel (10/5): Great place to stay when you visit Victoria ! - Clean Cousy great space have everything that you need to a great stay , close to many facilities , the host was amazing to make sure we had a great stay ! Highly recommend it
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional - Great quiet place. Lovely neighborhood. Slopey floors, but manageable so luggage did not roll around.
- Philip (6/5): Nice location. - The location was really nice. Very low ceiling beams. I had to constantly bow my head to get from room to room. There was no mention of this low ceiling height until after I had booked and paid the money.
- Keri (10/5): A wonderful experience. Would definitely stay again. - This location was perfect for the purposes of our trip to Victoria. The suite was easy to access and was clean and tidy upon arrival. Everything was wonderful. The hosts were amazing and when I lost the key to the suite hiking (I felt so bad and stupid) they were there within 5 minutes to help me out. So amazing and understanding. I would definitely stay again. Check out instructions were so clear and I felt like the hosts were concerned with our comfort during our stay. So amazing.
- Daniel (9/5): Amazing. Just a small thing. - Everything was in place. Clean, nice, and colorful. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen had every utility needed. Parenting is hard, however there is a limit to the noise they can make. I was bothered multiple and a long period of time by their loud running over the house and screaming. I know it's difficult but again their is a limit.
- Wareerat (7/5): Good -
- Yendall (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mandy (8/5): We had a great stay and would recommend! - The location was perfect , size was great . Low ceiling if you are tall . Clean spacious had everything we needed . Would surely go back to stay for sure ! The bed wasn’t very comfortable, spare blankets for the bed would have been good .
It had been raining thus a mop would have been good to mop up the wet floors and keep the floors clean !
- Laura (9/5): Superb - kitchen had everything we needed, bed was comfortable, everything was clean, the rocker was nice touch I really enjoy it, place was more spacious than I expected The ceiling was a bit lower then I expected, there was some dripping in the bedroom
- Xinyi (9/5): Superb -
- Abhijeet (10/5): A truly beautiful, homely, and spacious accommodation. - Every corner of the house gives you a feeling of warmth. You'll never feel like a stranger here. Nice attention to detail, everything just works well. Comfortable bed. Cosy sofa. Big kitchen with every utensil you'd need. Fast WiFi. A tidy bathroom. Oh and the map makes it look far from downtown but it really isn't.
- Lauren (8/5): Thx for having us, we loved ur place :) - Location, clean, carapace, washer & dryer Recommend a pull out sofa for lounge room.
- Beata (10/5): great for a cozy weekend away - Clear instructions, comfortable space, clean, outlets right by the bed!
- Kay (1/5): No one answered my question about the tv, when we arrived it hadn’t been cleaned and then the cleaner only took 10 mins - Nothing Everything
- Cindy (7/5): Good - The ceiling is low for a tall person but price was reasonable. It worked well for me.
- Josephus (7/5): value for money and super if it helps the ukruanian owners - it is was it said it would be ! honest and fair entry was a bit strange through a low door and laundry room.. but worked
- Robedmonds (8/5): Truly Quaint - Quaint studio was a handy place to stay. We were able to drive out to the Burchart Gardens and Government House realively easily. We were able to park your car next to the entrance to the studio. Everything needed to cook provided. Laundry was attached to the studio and being used by next-door neighbour.
- Logeswari (8/5): Great place to stay. Very cosy. - Spacious, clean and well stocked
Very quick responses to queries. Poor lighting.
Couldn’t adjust the temperature. It was too warm.
- Gregorio (10/5): Loved our stay! The place was so clean and looked exactly like the pictures. We were very happy! - Loved the modern decor! The entire place was very clean. Lots
of toiletries, ie lotion, oils etc.
It was very easy to find and the location was good. Liked everything. No complaints. Nothing to improve on.
- Rohimah (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (7/5): Good for people with cars - Great kitchen facilities and laundry facilities great coffee. Communication was excellent with the owner. Contactless stay. No way of turn down the heat in the middle of summer. Synthetic sheets and duvet cover. A grip bar to assist people to get out of the shower over bath is essential or advertise that this could be a mobility issue.
- Monica (4/5): SUPER LOUD! Children in next room very loud! ADULTS upstairs loud! - Instructions were good in communique before arrival Was met by man who didn't speak English - his son maybe? - came to translate and show me the property and where the key was.
- Martina (10/5): Highly recommended. I will stay there again. - Nice and spacious suite in a very quiet neighborhood. N/A
- Man (5/5): Passable - The bed is too soft ,I think it is very old one ,no support.and is it a basement
- Joern (10/5): Clean apartment and well equipped - The suite was comfortable and everything was exactly as announced. The kitchen was well equipped and it was very spacious. It is also nice that you can wash and dry your laundry there. It was was directly next to a bus stop and the bus brings you downtown within 20 minutes. Would stay there again! You know ALL the perks before booking (low ceilings, location not very central, sometimes noisy neighbors). So nothing unexpected and thus a very pleasant stay.
- White (7/5): Good -
- Choi (3/5): The ceiling is very low - The bed is fluffy. It's not soundproof and the house is tilted.
- David (9/5): Would recommend for couples for a short weekend get-away! - Spotless property with lots of space. Ideal location with parking available. Very comfortable and cozy, be that a little short on the ceiling height! Low ceilings/beams a head-knocker for clumsy tall folk like me! No stocked toiletries except for soap/lotion so make sure you pack shampoo! Noisy upstairs neighbours, but expected in a basement suite so not too much of an issue.
- Laverty (8/5): Very good -
- Benjamin (6/5): This basement unit met my needs but it has low ceilings and little natural light. - Check in was straightforward. The unit was clean. I arrived around midnight , slept, showered and was gone by 10am. So it suited my needs but it does have a kitchen area. After booking this unit, I received a note from the manager (owner) describing more of this unit. It is the basement unit below a family that is living above. You hear footsteps in the morning. The unit has few windows , a low ceiling, so it does not get much natural light. You walk in through the basement laundry area to get to the door of the unit. There is a large area rug on the living room floor that hides some repair on the uneven flooring.
- Lora (5/5): Good location. Suite is under a family with kids. - Location Family lives above you and normal family noise. Last night they did laundry (right outside entrance) very late at night… started dryer after 10 PM.
- Bekker (8/5): Perfect for those that are out and about all day. - Clean and tastefully decorated. I would think of moving the houses laundry room and rather making the front entrance part of the suite.
- Sarah (6/5): clean, good value, - Access to the property and the information provided was excellent. The location was great for getting aorund Victoria if you have a car. It was a quiet neighborhood. The only issue was the noise coming through the door adjacent to the other suite/apartment. It wasn't kids; it was adults speaking loudly. I wonder if some insulation or some kind of buffer could go on the door that connects the two spaces. Other than that, it was a reasonably priced, clean place.
Note, It would be convenient to have a sofa bed to accommodate snoring spouses:)
I also worried about the security...no locks on windows and air con or fan for hot evenings.
- Yannick (8/5): Very good - Clean Can hear the owner like if they are next to you
- Sebastian (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - The apartment was fully equipped, spacious and comfortable. a bit shady, not much natural light.
- Michael (3/5): Poor - The property was not ready for our arrival
- Robert (7/5): Adequate. - Location good. There was NO breakfast, not even coffee. So this was NOT a B & B.
- Jared (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicki (10/5): Very cute, comfortable apartment. - Very cosy with low ceilings. Kitchen well equipped, lovely shower. Shared washer and dryer. Nothing personally, but the low ceiling in the bedroom might make life difficult for taller persons. There are four stone steps to enter, with no handrail, so if balance is an issue you might struggle. Lighting is a little dim.
- Karen (5/5): Passable -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Lots of room
The description is as it is
- Peter (9/5): The instructions on how to pick up the key is very clear. The suite is nice. I will definitely book - The instructions on how to pick up the key is very clear. The suite is nice. I will definitely book again if I come to Victoria again.
- Laura (7/5): Overall, the stay was good. Location was convenient and accommodation clean. -
- Rhett (4/5): all around not an enjoyable experience - Location compared to where I had to be the next day wasn't able to get ahold of the host for questions, tight & cramped space for someone 6' tall, family upstairs much louder than expected
- Shannon (7/5): Nice apartment, very short ceilings. - The apartment was very clean and as pictured. Free parking is very convenient. Not the best location, but close enough to the city and a good place to stay for a short stay. The check-in and check-out were very smooth and there were suitable instructions provided to find the location. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and appliances all functional. The ceilings were incredibly short. As a person who is 5'10 with a partner who is 6'2 we were constantly hitting our heads on the bulk heads and couldn't stand up straight in the shower or when entering the unit through the basement door. If you're a tall person (above 5'9) I would not recommend this place for that reason.
- Owen (8/5): Very good -
- Frost (9/5): Lovely accommodation and facilities. We had a car to get around and it was free parking. - The facilities were great- well equipped kitchen- lovely bathroom & laundry with dryer was an added bonus. Only one small issue- Couldn’t get TV to work. Was too late at night to contact owner but sure they would have helped me given the chance. Recommend a ‘How to use TV’ guide in room.
- Edgar (9/5): Great value. - Spacious. Very clean. Keypad initially didn't work, but texting ths owning solved that issue immediately. I could never get Netflix to work on the TV
- Michael (8/5): Very good - This was an overall nice apartment, souterrain. We were on a bike trip and we were able to put the bikes in the laundry room, though they likely would have been fine outside. This is a family neighborhood with great bike trail access. Good coffee (Keurig) provided as well. Because it was warm, our only suggestion would be to buy and provide a fan - there really isn't enough airflow through the small windows. One of our phones had wifi constantly, the other dropped it every 15 sec but we were totally ok with that. Summary: great value for the price! Well be back soon. It was all fine, just think about providing a fan.
- Kelly (9/5): Definitely a hidden gem! - Very clean and comfortable. Loved this unit. Everything you need and lots of parking available. Definitely would stay again and recommend to others. Needs a better air conditioner or fan and would prefer to have the tv in the living room.
- Malgorzata (8/5): Very good - We didn't expect to find this apartment in the basement but apartment itself is lovely.
- Hope (7/5): Good -
- Mario (7/5): Good -
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tin (8/5): Very good -
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (7/5): it was good - very clean very pleasant staff very challenging TV signal
- Neal (10/5): Very clean and cozy, will book again! -
- Sokulska (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Corinne (7/5): Great space for a private, fully contained suite while doing errands around the city - Full kitchen. Comfy, pretty decor, good shower, easy check in, very clean. Good heating options. Easy, close access to main thoroughfares into and out of the city. Max 20 minutes driving to just about anywhere. Lots of parking. Secure access to suite. Could hear upstairs movement quite loudly but not talking or tv, just thumping when person walked around or went in and out. Bonus that she didn’t start too early or go much past 11 PM. Earplugs helped. Netflix connection not great. Lots of buffering.
- Billie (8/5): Cute little suite, but a bit quirky - Nice and clean, centrally located. If you're a light sleeper, the noise from upstairs can be quite bothersome. The main entrance is through the laundry room, which you can hear outside the suite. I found the set up kind of odd, but the suite itself was cute and comfortable.
- Benji (9/5): Great location, great space, and excellent price. - Great price and location. Well maintained and decorated great! Only issue was that someone was doing laundry 4 of the 5 days we were there which made it hard to have a hot shower one of the days.
- Katy (10/5): We enjoyed our stay - Beautiful, quiet apt.
clean, wld definitely stay again wish tv was in LR
cld use a hide a bed
locks are somewhat of a challenge
- Melanie (7/5): Good -
- Hongju (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good - the box spring on the bed was quite worn and seemingly well used in the past.
- Waddington (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- 美幸 (9/5): Superb -
- Stuart (10/5): Wonderul place to stay in Victoria. Super value, central to all of Victoria’s attractions and a place to cook your own f - The property is beautifully decorated to accommodate for the property being basement level. The facilities are brilliant and have everything you could possibly need - you could move in there! If anything, the pillows were a little big.
- Laura (7/5): Good location, with all the amenities you need, clean and close to the busstation - Really good amenities The height of the ceiling
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Randy (9/5): Superb - Cozy and private suite.!
