- Mills (10/5): I hope to be able to return to this wonderful place! - What an amazing place to stay! Starting with Gaspar meeting us in the square near the Ploce gate at 9:30 pm to guide us in, with walking tour as we went. He continued with a map once inside giving us the overview and recommendations for a trip to Locrum Island (I’ll add our recommendation!). The view from the windows and location was perfect. And the building itself, with soaring ceilings and history. Truly an opportunity to stay in a unique place! I’ll mention the shower/bath in case you have mobility issues, or your balance. There is a nice tub which is rare! But to get into both tub and shower, you have to step up maybe 16-18”. At 5’5” I was able to sit on the side of the tub and swing my legs over (I had a fall in Rome, so a little off right now), Whereas 6’3” hub found it more challenging. Carefully dealt with it was fine. And it would never stop me from staying there again. My engineer hub felt a well placed solid grab bar would fix the issue, and I’d have loved even a low 6” stool that could be moved out of the way.
- Agnes (10/5): - It was very easy to communicate with Gaspar re our booking. He welcomed us at the apartment, gave us the keys, showed us around and gave us local tips. He responded quickly to our texts. The apartment was exceptionally located, next to the cathedral in Old Town and the Jesuit Stairs. There was a market and bakery nearby for all your food needs. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable and very clean. none
- Aslı (10/5): - The location of the place we stayed at was amazing. I would definitely recommend staying in this house. Gasper was a wonderful host. He answered all of our questions kindly and was very helpful. Getting from the airport to the house was very easy.
- Palomba (9/5): -
- Hernan (10/5): - Muy buen dpto muy buena ubicación gregor muy buena onda
- Robert (10/5): - Beautiful place, great locations and amazing host. Nothing. It was amazing
- Eytan (10/5): - מיקום מצויין בתוך העיר, מבנה היסטורי מיוחד ודירה מרווחת ביותר.
- Lance (10/5): Authentic, spacious apartment in the Old Town - Excellent hand over by Gasper. Great local information and advice Nothing
- AURA GAIL (10/5): Old Palace Apartment provided us the feel of being locals of the Old Town during our 5 nights vacation. The apartment is - The old building and old feel of the apartment added to the charm of taking a vacation to a historic place. No elevator.
- Brandy (10/5): Exceptionally convenient to the Old City and most tours. Host was very helpful. - Our host met us at our drop off point. Very friendly. Great energy. Gave us great tips on how to spend our time. Apartment was very clean and quite spacious. The apartment has sound proof windows! The bed was a bit firm and I do like firm beds. It was still clean and provided adequate coverings for the bed. Could use 1 or 2 extra pillows but this did not take away from our experience.
- Carla (7/5): -
- Maria (8/5): The host's impeccable service made up for the property deficiencies. - Host met us outside the old city gate and carried our luggages all the way to the apartment Saw a cockroach! Incomplete kitchen amenities.
- Yongfeng (10/5): A fabulous experience - Well equipped spacious antique-styled apartment, perfect location in the old town by the cathedral, very hospitable and helpful staff None
- Guest (10/5): Fabulous. Loved this apartment. Best place we stayed in while visiting Croatia. - Everything! Huge beautiful apartment in perfect location in old town Dubrovnik. Great air conditioning, comfortable beds, free Netflix.
Gasper and Dino were excellent hosts. Met us at gate and also helped us with luggage back to gate when leaving. Would stay here again. Lots of stairs. Also could use a slip proof bath mat in bathtub.
- Floridc (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Perfect apartment in old city Dubrovnik - Host Gaspar and Dino were extremely accommodating and always good communicators. Location is almost unbeatable. Apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
- GEORGIOS (8/5): - Το μπάνιο
- Phillips (7/5): Enjoyable - Casper was very welcoming and told us a bit of history and what was needed on arrival etc.. The stairs - apartment being on second floor.. Lack of tea towel in the kitchen.
- Rachel (8/5): A Hidden Gem for a Family Stay - spacious, high ceilings with warm, helpful hosts. - A Hidden Gem for a Family Stay
This was a fantastic find for our family of four. The apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed for a four-night stay—including good air-conditioning, a washing machine (and drying rack), toaster, kettle and plenty of other kitchen essentials. The location was perfect, tucked inside a beautiful old building full of character and close to a beach, mini-mart and loads of restaurants
What really stood out was the hospitality. The host met us right at the gates of the old town, helped with our luggage, and walked us to the apartment. Along the way, he shared interesting stories and bits of local history, making us feel instantly welcomed. It was a genuinely warm and personal introduction to the city. The hallway floor was a little creaky, mostly noticeable at night when heading to the bathroom. That said, it didn’t cause any issues for us. In a charming historic building like this, it’s completely understandable—and a small trade-off for such a unique and atmospheric place to stay.
The only other suggestion for improvement would be to include a non-stick frypan - while the one supplied did the job, a medium sized non-stick would have been super helpful.
- Erik (9/5): - Our host, Gaspar, received us, explained everything. Apt is perfect location, spacious. Maybe get a coffee maker.
- Natalie (10/5): 10/10. Highly recommend! Absolutely perfect! - Location was perfect. Space was large, clean and comfortable. Host was friendly and instantly replied to messages/requests. Supermarket was 2minutes away-well stocked and reasonably priced. Aircon in rooms. Able to leave bags after check out. Dishwasher with tablets. Washing machine (bring your own washing powder). Hot water worked perfectly. 3min walk to the sea where you can jump in. Close to the gate for early pickups if going on excursions to Bosnia or Montenegro. Soundproof from outside noise despite being in the heart of the Old Town. Good cooking facilities-oven, microwave, toaster with pots and pans etc for self catering. Short walk from airport shuttle stops. Beds were comfortable. 2 sofas. Large tv. Large kitchen table. Great WiFi. Host was extremely friendly and helpful. When I asked for beach towels, they were brought over quickly. Cannot recommend this apartment enough! There was nothing not to like! My only reminder would be that there was no body wash, shampoo or washing powder so bring your own or purchase from the supermarket round the corner.
- Ranjan (10/5): One of the best decisions I have ever made in terms of booking an apartment stay long distance - Gasper was so friendly and so helpful . his responses on whatsapp were prompt and helpful . He did guide us as well on what to see and where to eat and avoid tourist traps as well. he was kind enought to help us get the bags up and down the steps. The location , right in the heart of the old town was perfect +Exceptionally large space. Felt like a real home . Sound proof windows were world class and kept out street noise. Location was unbeatable , right next to the cathedral. Inside facilities with the split acs, the kitchen were exceptional- one of a kind experience in Dubrovnik. We had issues with wifi requiring reboot but given the location inside the old city , it was not unusual. The washer dryer was a little difficult to operate with its icons and required some kind of cheat sheet.
- Mahalakshmi (10/5): Perfect! - Excellent host communicated with us, provided transfer from airport, met us outside the walls and walked us to the apartment, and gave us a mini tour and history lesson on the walk. Apartment is right in the middle of things!! We used the apartment as a stopping point in the middle of the afternoon to stretch legs/change/take a break. It is brilliant - best gelato down the street, amazing breakfast facing the dome and cathedral right down the street, hop skip and jump to Stradun ( Main Street). Noise proof apartment - can't hear a thing from outside. They had AC but we didn't need to use it. View from the windows is a side view of the beautiful cascading houses on the hill. Apartment itself is beyond ADORABLE - lots of space, comfy beds, comfy couch, lovely table to hang out, lots of closet spaces, well equipped kitchen. The bathroom was nice and spacious, has washer/dryer. Our host Gaspar was super nice - he brought us detergent and an iron box on request. Gave us all the salient points on a map, apartment is closer to one gat, totally walkable to either gates. Nothing to not like. We are so happy we found this apartment
Just some FYI - the apartment is on 3rd floor - so just be prepared for that- but small price to pay for the location and cuteness. Also it takes the guilt out of the multiple gelatos and all the yummy food that you will be consuming
- Patrick (7/5): Great large apartment , right in the old town, not for folks who don’t want many stairs., - Excellent host. Gaspar. Very responsive to texts. Met us outside city wall and carried our bags to room! Same on check out. Arranged for transportation.
Very large one bedroom historic apartment. Washer and dryer. Full kitchen. Right in the heart of the old city. Large screen smart tv. Two looong flights of stairs. We’re 69 and 76. A bit much.
TV not working , had to unplug and plug back in each time. Host was aware and told us.
Huge step up to get into tub/shower. No grab bars.
10 am check out. Exception not allowed.
- Mary (10/5): Fantastic, roomy apartment in great location. - Property manager Gaspar was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Great location, spacious.
- Del (10/5): Location! - Cannot beat the location for being in the heart of Dubrovnik.
It's an old building, so do not expect modern features.
Spacious, comfortable and surprisingly quiet at night.
Tip: by walking the walls at 8am from the Eastern Ploce Gate we avoided the throngs and almost had it to ourselves for an hour which was special. Seems the busloads mostly start at the other Gates; Pile or Buza. Since it is quite a walk up to the apartment could use a coffee maker, drip or french press, so people can make their own quickly.
- Lahja (10/5): Location was wonderful. Great to have extra space with children. Loved the old building and history. Beautiful place. - Location was great, right in the old town. Bed was comfortable. Great for families. NA
- Michelle (9/5): Lovely, spacious and unique apartment in the heart of the old town - This space was fantastic. It is huge, high ceilings too. Plenty of room to spread out in.
Gašper was simply amazing. Like a tour guide, met us at the Ploce Gate and walked us to the apartment, providing tips and info during the walk and making sure we were well settled in. Ðino was also great communicating via Whatsapp before and during our stay. They also organised our airport transfer in to the old town and the driver waited to make sure Gašper had found us - may be slightly more expensive but worth it!
This is an old building. It is not a fancy hotel. It is comfortable and located in a perfect spot within the old town, behind the cathedral, lovely bright windows, all with shutters. There are all the creature comforts of TV, dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, air con, full kitchen facilities. You can see the place is well maintained and upgraded over time. The pillows and towels could be replaced.
Tips - the stairs up to the apartment are OK but not if you have mobility issues (and heavy luggage is possible but would be an effort). The over bath shower is good however the climb over the bath to hop in is quite high if you have any concerns in that regard.
- なかしまあきら (10/5): Exceptional - Location. The room is big and comfortable. The host Gasper was very friendly and helpfull. Also let us check-in early and check out late.
- Eirini (10/5): Exceptional - The house is in a really perfect location, everything is clean and comfortable. They could welcome guests with a few bottles of water, and a coffee machine is something that is missing.
- Kathryn (10/5): Magical - The location and the space It was hard to figure out the heat
- Bin (9/5): We have a great time in the apartment and the host is very responsive and great with communication - Location! Location! Location! This place has the best location to explore the city. It's right next to the cathedral. Very central and at the same time you don't have to climb the stairs. The host is extremely kind and hospitable. Wi- Fi is on and off all the time. It should be replaced.
- Kenya (10/5): Amazing host and beautiful historic apartment! - I loved my interactions with the host! The apartment is very spacious and located in a great area. I cannot recommend it enough!!
- Raelene (10/5): Exceptional - A spacious, historic apartment in the old town. Great facilities, but not new. Can self cater or eat at multiple close restaurants. Sound proofing is excellent. Property manager, Gasper was exceptional! Pillows might be improved.
- Tea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ms (10/5): Couldn’t be happier! - Location in the Dubrovnik old town was perfect. The ambiance was like stepping back in time. Would highly recommend for a couple of days stay or longer. The hosts were super helpful. It was convenient as any number of restaurants, museums and access to the pier and swimming spots were one minute walk away. The apartment was gorgeous with high ceilings, spacious rooms with all the modern amenities- loved the giant TV.
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb location. Quiet with fabulous double glazing. - Plenty of character being a 17th century or earlier building. Right near all the action in Old Town Dubrovnik.
Very knowledgeable host who gave a great run down on best sights etc. Not particularly easy to locate as the apartment is contained in a large 17th century building with no signage evident on the exterior. Google got us close and the host met us outside. Minor inconvenience only.
- Elana (10/5): Exceptional - This apartment is absolutely stunning and even bigger than it looked in the pictures. It's perfectly located right in the old town and was very comfortable overall. The host was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations, and he always responded promptly to our questions over Whatsapp. I highly recommend this place!
- Joshua (10/5): Excellent apartment at an excellent location - Excellent location and the property managers were great. They also arranged transportation to and from the airport. Apartment is very roomy. My wife and daughter traveled. There was a sofa bed in the main room that was actually pretty decent and that’s where my daughter stayed. The European shower situation makes no sense to me. Water gets all over the place. But that’s a small complaint. It’s a great place!
- Lenny (10/5): We enjoyed our stay. Apartment is spacious and relaxing after long day of walking around city. - Apartment is spacious and clean, was very comfortable for family of 4.
- Christine (10/5): Spacious Excellent Apartment in Old Town - We had a wonderful stay at the Old Palace Apartment in Old Town Dubrovnik. The super spacious one bedroom (a king/queen bed and twin bed) apartment had a large living room, a full kitchen with nice wine glasses and a washer dryer too. We didn’t cook, it was great to spread out after staying in tiny hotel rooms. A fantastic location in the middle of Old Town. Within minutes of all the restaurants and tourist spots. (There are several just steps out the front door.)
The host, Gino and Gasper, were wonderful. They spoke fluent English, which made it super easy to communicate with them via email or chat WhatsApp. They will help to arrange transportation tour from the airport or the port ferry. They can also help guide you to the apartment and will assist in carrying your luggage. (The apartment is on the second floor of the building, and there are a number of steps up the stone staircase.) The room is very quiet and you won’t hear any outside noise. It’s super close to the harbor where you can catch the ferry to Lokrum Island and other tours, if you’re interested. It’s not 5 star luxury but exceptional for a larger one bedroom apartment in Old Town. So don’t expect things like down pillows or comforters. Or luxury. But it was really nice to have room to spread out. If you don’t read Croatian (or German), the English instructions on how to operate the washer dryer is a bit tricky but I figured it out by looking at the pictures.
- Kasthuri (9/5): We stayed for 4 nights in the apartment and had a wonderful time. - Amazing location within the old city., with a view of the cathedral, and a few steps from the Rector’s palace.
It is a spacious apartment with a living + dining room, bedroom and a full fledged kitchen. High ceilings with wooden rafters and partially exposed walls lend old world charm with modern convenience.
The host was very responsive to our messages and requests for help The apartment is in the second floor and he kindly arranged for our suitcases to be brought up. The washer/ dryer could use some upgrade.
- Georges (10/5): Exceptional -
- Akhil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellen (10/5): Excellent location & lovely apartment - Excellent location! Was perfect for our needs, lots of space, very good kitchen facilities and the host was so so accommodating which we really appreciated Nothing
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is perfect, fantastic location, great host Djino, equipped with everything. Nothing
- Miguel (10/5): The best place in the heart of the old town. - Incredibly nice apartment in the heart of the old town, close to everything.
It is spacious and comfortable, completely renovated, even though the building has several centuries of history, whichs adds value.
The host Gasper is extremely friendly, providing different advice and always being attentive to communications. Nothing.
- Kurt (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful place and location, would definitely stay there again. nothing.
- Hiroyuki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmen (10/5): Great choice for staying inside the walled city . - Loved the location and old city vibe of the apartment itself.
- Carla (10/5): Exceptional - Gaspar met us on the front steps when we arrived, gave us a full overview of the apartment and the Old Town. Also, he made sure we knew that he was available for questions during our stay. The apartment was so comfortable, and after 2 weeks of hotel rooms, it was a pleasure to have the entire apartment with kitchen, living room (big screen smart tv), and bedroom. Ceilings are high and windows were soundproof and lightproof (closing the exterior shutters). Very well located, near bakery and market, and of course - lots of restaurants! I would stay here again (really, i would live here). The bed mattress was a thin, and the bed squeaked when one of us would roll over. Other than that, NO complaints.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, easy to access. Apartment was as described. Location was great
- Sengteik (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, big and spacious unit, well furnished and very clean. Also has high tech windows that filter out all the noise from outside. Bed is very low and a bit too soft for us. Shower screen does not close well, hard to avoid not gettinf the floor wet.
- Maree (9/5): Superb -
- Timothy (10/5): Great location, facilities, and hosts. - Excellent location in the old town. The apartment has air conditioning, and excellent noise cancelling windows. we went during a very hot, and busy period and both were essential. Gašper and Dino were wonderful attentive hosts, and really helped out when needed. We really enjoyed our time in Dubrovnik, and much of this came from the comfort of having the apartment to pop back to.
- Marianne (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Spacious apartment with air conditioning and good equipment, we had everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful host.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were excellent and location was perfect
- Jeremy (10/5): Beautiful traditional apartment in an amazing medieval city 🥰 - A fabulous traditional apartment perfectly placed in the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik.
Great communication with the hosts Dino and Gašper plus the airport transfer service was a great option to have.
Apartment was well equipped with the benefit of double glazing behind traditional shutters, great at cancelling out outside noise.
The apartment benefits from the use of a washing machine if staying longer than a few days. Everything was great
- Erin (10/5): Phenomenal, highly reccommend - Host was a phenomenal communicator and gave us a great intro into Dubrovnik. Place was spectacular and very roomy. Very quiet with soundproof windows. Excellent air-conditioning and well equipped. Was able to leave our luggage at the hosts place too after check out, which was very helpful. Washing machine also has dryer function. Took a while to work out the washing machine, but that's on us for not asking.
- Penny (10/5): Gino & Gasper we’re both excellent hosts. they met us at the airport and helped us with our luggage before & aft - location excellent. Spacious. kitchen - couldn’t use the oven! no racks
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - spacious, great location, staff extremely helpful.
- Sam (8/5): Very good - The hosts were extremely proactive, helpful, and responsive. The apartment was spacious and had a kind of old-world charm. The location within the old city could not have been better.,
- Min (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stevew (9/5): Superb - Lovely spacious apartment with great location and facilities. Close to all the city attractions
- Claudia (9/5): Superb - Excellent location in the centre of Dubrovnik. Spacious apartment with high ceilings. Very helpful hosts. The shower screen was not big enough to prevent water going on the bathroom floor.
- Derek (9/5): Old Town Apartment - Fantastic location and very friendly hosts who help you settle in. All good, no problems.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katerina (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Location. Great and helpful host. We loved all
- Melinda (10/5): perfect place for a few nights in Dubrovnik - Location is convenient to everything and property was just as pictured and described. We had everything we needed and more! nothing
- Joyce (10/5): Wonderful bright & large one bedroom apartment. - Gasper gave us lots of helpful information. The apartment was very clean with lots of space. The location was superb so that we could return to it for many rest breaks during the day. There is a well equipped kitchen. The washer dryer was great to have. Not complicated, just read the instructions. A nice feature would be to add a coffee maker like Nespresso. But there are many places to buy & enjoy a coffee within steps of the apartment. We liked everything.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location, clean, spacious, great hosts Nothing
- Sasha (10/5): I’m in love with this apartment - I am in love with this apartment. location is incredible. The apartment has all
mod cons (including bath!) but still the classic essence of the old town. It feels like such luxury. Đino was so lovely and helpful with great recommendations (Trattoria Carmen! Yum). I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My favourite place by far in Croatia. Book it if you can. you won’t be sorry. You need some kind of electronics PhD to work out how to use the washing machine 😂 Blame whirlpool for the worst UX! Đino tried hard to help and I did manage to wash my clothes.
- Markus (9/5): Superb - would anytime come back
- David (10/5): Book this if available - The apartment is very big, up-to-date, and comfortable. It has 2 beds, 2 large couches, and other chairs for plenty of places to lounge. the AC works great, and the German windows block any street noise.
The location cannot be beat. It’s in the perfect spot of old town.
Our host was amazing. He gave us a great rundown of Dubrovnik when we arrived, and was always available via WhatsApp to help us if needed.
We will book here again in the future. Nothing
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect relaxing stay in Old Town with a wonderful host in a unique and big apartment. - Perfect location in Old Town - in the heart of the action, yet tucked away enough to be relaxing. The apartment itself is better than the photos - tons of space, soundproof windows, cold A/C, and big! Gasper was a very accommodating and welcoming host, giving us great recommendations for the area and coordinating with our check in and check out. Highly recommended! The internet connection could have been a bit stronger; streaming shows (on the giant TV) was fine, but basic internet browsing via the wifi on our phone was a bit slow.
- Lidia (10/5): Superb - Superb location. Gasper and Dino provide outstanding support. Nothing
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - great to escape hassle and bussel of split during tourist deason nothing
- Mohd (10/5): Exceptional -
