• Madeleine (4/5): Save your money and go elsewhere - The apartment is comfortable, with a large sofa in the lounge. The pillows were not to our comfort as they were very thick and small and we don't usually sleep with lots of pillows at home, so something a bit thinner would have been better. The dining table was a good size, not at all cramped. The apartment is a couple of minutes walk from a children's playground, which our four children loved, especially the rafts on the lake. The owner Robyn was not very responsive if we had problems. When we arrived there was no hot water for the first day, as the boiler had been switched off and took several hours to heat up again. I asked for some money to be refunded but she ignored this. The shower is quite small with a lot of space taken up by a wall mounted drop down disabled seat. There is no extractor fan, so the condensation builds up on the tiled floor making it quite slippery, even with the window open. In addition, several of the appliances, including the kettle, were not compatible with the plug sockets in the apartment. No adapters were provided. This was very frustrating and together with the hot water issue rather spoiled our stay, as it suddenly became difficult to go about daily life. There is no instruction manual or welcome booklet in the apartment, leaving guests to figure things out for themselves. We weren't sure what to do with the recycling and Robyn did not reply to my questions until after check out on our last day. I made a complaint to booking.com but it has not been responded to. We have now had a message from Robyn accusing us of damaging the shower, which we did not. The comfortable furnishings were lovely, but did not outweigh the many issues with the apartment and the behaviour of the host. I would not recommend this apartment.
