- PASCAL (10/5): Je conseille vivement, appartement magnifique et très bien placé - L’appartement est magnifique, très confortable, très bien équipé et très bien placé. Le lit est très confortable et tout l’appartement est très propre. Rien
- Debra (10/5): Hidden Treasure - It was a good size space with all the facilities we needed. It was clean and close to attractions.

- Anne (10/5): An amazing Hidden Treasure! - Close to all amenities, cafes, shops and wharf in Fremantle. Huge space to relax and enjoy. Thank you, it was perfect! Nothing.
- Melissa (7/5): - Location Spare room was a single bed instead of double. Issue resolved by management and satisfied with outcome

- Terry (8/5): Fabulous location, easy parking - Great location, big apartment with 2 balconies Big staircase to apartment, we were fine but might be difficult for some. Street noise (to be expected from central location)
- Julie (8/5): Perfect location for 2 people - Beautiful apartment in walking distance to main attractions in Freo Sofa bed was just a couch? Did not pull out
- katie (10/5): Overall the place was fantastic. Great location and nice and spacious. - Instructions were clear The bed was probably a bit too soft for me, but would be comfy for others.
- Lisa (10/5): The perfect apartment for a stay in Freo. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! - Spacious, beautifully presented and perfect location! Nothing!

- Catherine (8/5): Great apartment beautifully restored but ! - A beautiful large refurbished apartment fitted out to an extremely high standard with car parking right in the Centre of town. The property was outstanding The management company are way over the top with their charging for extras including a $300 damage bond which you have to wait to get back. We would highly recommend the owners of the property look for a nicer management company to look after the property for them
- Christopher (6/5): Good location, clean and comfortable, all the amenities for a good stay. Painful administration - Good location, clean and comfortable unit, all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Had to pay 100% in advance when i booked despite free cancellation with Booking.com. If I cancelled within free cancellation period I would receive refund less admin and bank fees. Alot of administration with deposits, extra bed, receive access details only 1 hour before checking, etc
- Catherine (10/5): Definitely an amazing apartment, so central to everything - Beautiful spacious apartment, so close to shops, eateries and the dock. Nothing
- Michael (9/5): -
- Rob (10/5): Hidden Secret - Room 5 Wow….an exceptional property. Right in the heart of Fremantle. Bedroom, lounge, kitchen, outdoor spaces were stunning. Nothing

- Tiina (8/5): Convenient spacious and comfy apartment - Location, size and amenities Verandah flooded due to blocked drain, slow draining bathroom sink and broken hairdryer that kept shorting out.
- Geoffrey (8/5): Badly managed - Centrally located large apartment. Comfortable bed. Good kitchen. Badly managed. Check in process was stressful. I have been using booking.com for 10+ years with no problem, so I must have a exceptional rating. The owners use a third party booking manager (SmartStayWA) who the day before booking wanted a photo ID and requested a safety deposit multiple times. This was annoying as I was travelling. I checked with the bank, and they said no attempt had been made to get the deposit even though they had my credit card on file. So I was very upset.
- Gill (9/5): Would stay again despite minor issues - Excellent location and the apartment everything we could want for our stay Smell of cigarette smoke constantly in the hall and stars leading to the apartment was very strong - coming from ground floor apartment. Also quite noisy at night from local bars but not too bad
- Annie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brycelynn (8/5): Qualty apartment with Freo at your doorstep - Fantastic apartment in perfect location. Freo at your doorstep!
Very spacious and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen.
Fit out is all quality and tastefully decorated.
Very receptive to messages sent and helpful.
Would definitely make this a go to for regular visits to Freo. We were contacted the day prior to advise of water dripping in bedroom, saying previous guests didn’t find it a problem. There was offer to swap to another property, but not as nice and not the location we booked our stay for. We did arrive to find a large bucket catching drips, although the stains on ceiling indicates this isnt a new problem!unfortunately the rain was heavy and woke during night to water streaming from downlight , and the floor under water and the end of bed wet. Also water leaking through aircon unit in living room which wasn’t a problem . We were grateful that somebody was sent to mop up all the water and move the bed. Hopefully there may be some compensation for next stay. Despite this we had a great time and enjoyed the apartment. Could do with a makeup mirror in bathroom for older eyes.
Parking is very tight and difficult to manoeuvre a larger car.
- Danielle (9/5): Superb - We loved the unique architectural charm and stylish design of the property. The spacious layout, filled with natural light, was both beautiful and inviting.
The location couldn’t have been better—just a short stroll to Fremantle’s vibrant cafes, beaches, and iconic sights.
After a full day of exploring, the bed felt like sinking into a cloud—an unexpectedly luxurious touch.
We also had a brief encounter with the owner in the stairwell, who lives in a nearby apartment. They were exceptionally kind and helpful, adding a personal and welcoming touch to our stay.
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (10/5): Fantastic spacious apartment right in the heart of Freemantle - Fantastic property right in the heart of Freemantle. Spacious, light and airy, well equipped, and very clean. Lovely plush bed. Nothing to dislike.
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional - The Apartment was as described and even better.Beautiful decor, bright and spacious.Very well equipped kitchen and two lovely balconies to enjoy the trees. The bed was very cloud like comfortable with quality linen.
It was just steps away to everything Fremantle has to offer. It was easy to find and has its own secure parking on site. There was two levels of stairs to get into the appartment which would be hard on anyone with mobility issues.
- Marie (10/5): A stylish apartment in a great location. We loved it! - The location and the furnishings Nothing
- Alison (9/5): Reliable central stay in Freo - We have stayed at Hidden Treasure several times since 2000, and keep returning. Location is excellent and we love the bright airy accommodation. It remains our go - to in Freo. Outside the control of the owners, there are currently (March 2025) 2 major building works underway either side of the property in the back yard. The works seem sporadic (we were there for 25 days this time and it was mostly ok to live with the noise, but there were 4 days when it was really disruptive from 06.00 am including on a Sunday). The owners are helpful but have limited ability to foresee these problems.
- Valerie (9/5): Great location - Could get hot in very warm weather
- Glenda (9/5): Perfect place to stay right in the heart of Freo - Lovely spacious, modern and light apartment right in the busy main high street of Fremantle - perfect for easy access to everything. The bed was super comfy - like lying in a giant marshmallow! Two large balconies were nice to have though the views are only over the back courtyard and backs of properties but that’s to be expected in the heart of the town. The property agents SmartStayWA were generally quick to respond to issues. Our biggest problem was that the WiFi didn’t work for the whole week and it felt as though no-one was really doing anything about it. For foreign travellers that’s quite a problem without mobile data. It also meant we couldn’t use Netflix or any other app on the TV.
No expense has been spared furnishing the property but it was let down by most of the balcony furniture which quite frankly was ready for the skip. The lighting was also too stark and would’ve benefited from some table lamps and under unit lighting in both the kitchen and bathroom.
- Shirley (10/5): Very spacious and luxurious apartment in brilliant location - The apartment is superb. It is so spacious and luxurious. The location is excellent
- Dale (10/5): A taste of paradise on our journey through Oz 🇦🇺 - Immaculately presented accommodation, more like a suite than a room or apartment! High quality furnishings/fittings, white goods and accessories which enhances the customer experience. Nothing to dislike with the property or location.
Be aware of nightlife noise from local bars and builders starting work nearby from 0700 but nothing the owners can do about this.
- Russell (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathryn (7/5): Well located but didn’t get enough sleep! - Well appointed and excellent location. Plenty of space The bedroom skylight. It needs a cover!!! We didn’t sleep past 5 am on any the 3 nights we stayed - the bedroom really needs to be able to be kept dark.
- John (3/5): Poor - Nothing about the check in process. That the app didnt work.
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): Space and light and beautiful bed, kitchen and laundry - Lots of space and light and a washing machine - after a week on the Cape to Cape track. Excellent central location. Some construction noise next door very early in the morning and shower does not drain properly
- Christine (8/5): Very good - Great location and well equipped. King bed could do with super king sized bedding that tucks in.
- Stacey (10/5): Perfect location for a relaxing long weekend stay in Fremantle. -
- Marie-louise (9/5): Spacious apartment in heart of Freo. - Hidden Treasure is a spacious stylish apartment in the heart of Freo with High Street on your doorstep. Upside is you’re centrally located, slight downside is there’s a bit of noise on weekends but it was muffled and nothing a decent pair of earplugs won’t fix. Main bedroom has a skylight so if you like to sleep later you may want to bring eye mask too.
Overall a great apartment and we’d definitely recommend.
- Elaine (9/5): Superb -
- Shanice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional - spacious unit great location couldn't ask for more Heaps of room & great location
- Sarah (10/5): Central location, character property - Historical property in a great location Was quite noisy on a Saturday night given central location
- Nicola (9/5): This is the perfect place for a short very comfortable stay in the heart of Fremantle. - This apartment is located in the heart of Fremantle. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are on the doorstep, literally. I really liked that the photos online matched the reality. Very spacious living/dining/kitchen area. Spacious bedroom with the most comfortable bed I have slept in. Super soft and cushy. The large balcony is a nice place to read and drink tea in the morning or for afternoon drinks. There is a full kitchen and the whole place is flooded with natural light. My only complaint would be the size and shape of the bathroom, which is quite tight and has some odd angles, but hey, who cares when you're staying for a short time. A small drying rack for clothes would be helpful too. I couldn't find one.
- Jacinta (10/5): Fantastic location, spacious, comfortable. Great having washer and dryer. All very convenient. - We arrived at night so it was a little hard to locate as the gate was unlocked. Couldn’t see the #5 car space in the dark but took a punt and we were in the right spot. Bed was very soft, but that’s a personal preference.
- Roma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (8/5): Beautifully equipped, large , light filled apartment in the centre of town. - Large, light filled and well located Slightly confusing initial entry instructions (for jet lagged brains).
- Melissa (9/5): Beautiful apartment in fantastic location! - Perfect location, short walking to all of Fremantle's best restaurants, shops and tourist spots. Off street parking, lovely old building which was beautifully renovated. The apartment had two balconies for relaxing which looked out at trees and the carpark at the back of the building. Quiet spot. Great shower and main bed was comfortable. Lovely polished floors, fantastic kitchen, high ceilings and light/bright apartment. Owner lives next door and was very helpful and cheerful. The 2nd bedroom was a pull out bed and would not be comfortable for a couple, but fine for one person or a child. When the bed is out, the doors on that room won't close which might be an issue for some groups.
- Chelsea (7/5): Good - There was a water leak so puddles of water would be all through the master bedroom. Unable to use bedside lamp or bedroom tv because of safety concerns with electricity and water!
- Jordan (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (10/5): First choice place to stay - have stayed here several times, it is well managed and it's our favourite place when staying in the Perth/Freo area. It is a delight to come back to every time. We love the big bright windows with views of the trees with birds and the rooftop terraces. The parking is excellent and generally it's a very quiet place. Nothing that the owners can do about this, but there is now a lot more very late night noise coming from nearby clubs and bars, especially at the weekends.
- Annette (9/5): Fabulous place for a short stay in the heart of Fremantle - Beautiful spacious apartment right in the heart of everything. It is very attractively designed and decorated, with several zones where you can relax - including 2 balconies looking out over the rooftops. The second bed - a sofa bed - wasn’t very comfortable. It’s not far from noisy bars which may bother those who want an early night, but that is the nature of inner city life.
- Neil (10/5): relaxing - neat and. lean they need to put curtains up on a few windows to stop light and heat coming in
- Valerie (8/5): Location location location - Great location
Spacious living area Small bathroom toilet area difficult with more than 2 adults
No air con in bedroom
Skylight needs to be replaced with velux with blind
Window furnishings need blockout on kitchen windows and kitchen sliding door
In saying this you really can’t beat the location
- Roslyn (10/5): Recommend Fremantle Accommodation - Spacious, modern, comfortable & clean. Loved having a couple of balconies to sit & relax. Very groovy with all the conveniences of home. Location was fantastic, close to tourist sites, great restaurants, convenience stores & public transport. Safe building & car park. Nothing.
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheryl (10/5): Very relaxing weekend - The apartment was bright and clean with everything you needed for a short stay away from home. Great location in the middle of Fremantle with free parking, didn’t have to move the car to go anywhere.
- Glenda (9/5): Hidden Treasure is the perfect description!! - The apartment was beautiful and relaxing. Quaint and modern and stylish furnishings with a point of difference in keeping with the Fremantle historical architecture. The location was very central but without street noise. The second bedroom was very small but adequate and the sofa bed suitable for one adult. There were extras eg. dishes, cutlery, foil and cling wrap which made life easier. The master bed was very high with an extra mattress and was not as comfortable as most holiday accommodation beds.
- Dkfx (8/5): Outstanding location and great apartment. - Location, cleanliness Second bed the sofa bed wasn't great to sleep on.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely wonderful apartment. Top quality and extremely spacious. Very quirky design. An absolute pleasure to stay there. There are two balconies. The view isn't the best but don't let that put you off. Lovely peaceful accommodation. 5 star without a doubt. Nothing I didn't like.
- Anita (9/5): Loved our stay, super clean and lovely neigbours! - I absolutely loved this property, it is beautiful, right in the center, easy to access and is on the doorstep of nice restaurants. The only thing I would suggest is changing the bed in the 2nd room. the mattress is quite worn and uncomfortable and also the door to that bedroom could not be shut, would definitely say it's more for 2 people rather than 3.
- Denise (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (9/5): Beautiful apartment fantastic location and quiet - Great Location The room with the pullout sofa bed we had to set up ourselves which isn’t a drama but would have been nice if set up ready
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (10/5): First choice in Freo - We have stayed at Hidden Treasure 5 times and this time was a 2 week stay. It is one of the best places we have found to stay in Freo over the years. The owners have done a great job of renovating this loft style space. The situation of the property - behind the High St and overlooking a yard with huge Norfolk pines - is interesting as well as quiet most of the time. The apartment is spacious and light-filled, plus the 2 balconies are a great additional space for chilling out. Cooking facilities are a bit weak as you don't always want to eat out. Better / more pots and pans, baking trays, microwave dishes would be helpful. However this minor point is outweighed by the pluses.
- Carole (8/5): Very good -
- Madonna (8/5): Very good - Everything you need is there, beautiful little unit and close to everything. The bed was a little uncomfortable
- Anne (9/5): I can highly recommend this apartment, it is very spacious and comfortable with two good deck areas. - Location was fabulous with many cafes and restaurants nearby and an easy walk to Rottnest island and many attractions. Not enough info on where bins were and how to unlock them.
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - Lots of space The stairs
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Josh (6/5): overall a great spot to stay for a couple. location is A+. Unit was comfortable and clean. - great location, lots of great places to visit and see all within walking distance, The unit was very clean and well looked after. The bed was great, so comfortable. Kitchen area was well appointed and the unit furnished very tastefully. big couch to relax on, and also had a washing machine and dryer if required. There was a little sitting room if you wanted privacy, and a balcony for some fresh air. The parking was ordinary, i wouldn't be taking a big car to this place, our medium SUV was a very tight squeeze. No WIFI, was advertised with WIFI but the password was wrong, and when i got a new password that was wrong too, we gave up. The information sent stated check in at 2pm, but then told it was 3pm, asked if we could get in earlier and told they would let us know, i didn't hear from anyone. In our original booking we requested a late checkout, didn't receive a reply.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous accomodation and location.
- Jacqueline (7/5): Great location, well fitted out, downside was roof leaked and very noisy from surrounding pubs - Nice comfortable couch, good central location, well fitted out Roof leaked onto luggage, quite noisy from surrounding pubs and clubs.
- Derek (7/5): Good - Great location and big space. Room was flooded from the rain. Very narrow drive through could damage car. Slow response from home management smartstay
- Natalie (8/5): Very huge place with facilities all ready. Best for 2 pax (instead of 4) - Very near city center and very convenient to get to anywhere in Fremantle! All within walking distance. The parking is abit tight and it abit difficult to find as it’s located in the tiny street behind . We were hoping for one more toilet instead of just 1 toilet to share among the 4 of us. Could do well with 2 double bed instead of a queen bed and a sofa bed as the sofa bed as not very comfortable.
- Matt (10/5): Blissfully peaceful and uplifting. - The apartment is arranged laterally and has a great view through the bedroom french windows and lounge long window and french windows as well as from the two spacious balconies (one off the bedroom). The view is a laneway of classic Freo architectures rooftops and cottages surrounding two beautiful big Norfolk pines where magpies and butcher birds among other play from early morning to night. The apartment itself is gorgeous, light and retro-styles with a little industrial feel maybe because it was originally the upstairs rooms of a shop. A couple of reading lamps in the lounge area might be good, as the overheads are bright. But otherwise we couldn't fault this comfy and beautiful space.
- Chris (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay an amazing little gem. - Central location to shopping and restaurants. The ease of parking on site. The room and utensils exceptionally clean. Nothing we didn’t like but the air conditioning unit a little small for the large area.
- Ingram (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbi (10/5): Lovely place. So kuchen soace -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb -
- Breanne (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, comfy bed and great shower
- Phil (10/5): Little gem - The apartment was super location was great Leaving
- Catherine (9/5): Comfortable clean hotel, would recommend staying here - From the outside appearance the building is dated but inside was a total surprise with renovated kitchen, bathroom & laundry very comfortable stay. Carrying our luggage upstairs
- Joanne (10/5): A fantastic and relaxing birthday weekend at the Hidden Treasure - I'll definitely be back! - The accommodation exceeded my expectations. It was a real oasis in the heart of Fremantle. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, having a really sexy, 'nordic noir' kind of feel. There was free parking, it was close to every amenity you could possibly need and was easy to find. My only negative (and it really isn't a negative for most people) is that the bed was very soft. With a bad back and a firm bed at home it took a little getting used to. Wouldn't put me off staying again though.
- Katie (10/5): Beautiful, clean apartment with all the mod cons right in the middle of Fremantle. - What a beautiful apartment. The hosts really need to be applauded. Well done! I will be recommending this property to anyone who's travelling to Fremantle. The location was also terrific. Thank you. N/A
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindun (8/5): Very good - Central location, walk out the front door onto High Street - 15 min walk max to local attractions, including the ferry to Rottnest Island. Apartment is at the back, so it’s quiet. Need to climb 2 flights of stairs.
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant - excellent location big staircase to first floor
soft bed
limited teabags (only green) & stale coffee
not enough sugar & milk
