Guest Reviews
- Alisa (10/5): Convenient lovely comfortable place with great amenities - Spacious and rooms were all far apart it was great not having close neighbours and a it was nice and modern Nothing
- Scott (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyable would stay again - Lovely spacious home with everything you could need , in a great area not too far from Main Street eateries & wineries A larger quilt in second main room bed would be great
- Melissa (10/5): Modern, clean, comfortable house with a lovely outlook and close to everything. - My family had a really relaxing, lovely stay at The Red Door. I especially appreciated the option of either soft or hard pillows (a pillow can make or break a trip for me!) and the really comfortable king sized bed. Nothing. The property had everything you could ask for.
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Suzanne (9/5): Beautiful accommodation amongst the vineyards. - Loved the size and spaciousness and very comfortable. Location lovely and quiet in the vineyard, only a short drive to wineries and restaurants. Plenty of room for x3 couples. Good facilities, kitchen great, nice bathrooms. Extra toilet a bonus.
Pantry essentials privided. Lovely surprise snack box and delicious welcome bottle of wine appreciated. Breakfast under the pergola a must! Few more glass tumblers and beer stubby coolers would be good ( being picky here).
Unfortunately our ballooning adventure didn't happen due to windy weather ( main reason for visiting the region) Not anything to do with the beautiful accommodation though....
- Linda (10/5): -
- Payman (10/5): -
- Jim (9/5): Great location in the vineyards - Great location in the vineyards, lovely, well-designed house with a great kitchen. Some hand-towels were missing when we checked in and the pre-arrival clean had been a bit cursory.
- Adrian (10/5): - Great location, comfortable and spacious
- Maria (10/5): Beautiful home in great location to explore the beautiful Barossa - Great location
Beautiful big spacious home
Very comfortable bed Water pressure was a bit low in both showers
- Debra (7/5): Owners need to read and act on comments. Cleanliness let this property down. - The house location was lovely. Just out of town and very peaceful. Outlook was wonderful amongst the vineyards and the local wildlife. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. As for the rest of the house it was very dirty. Reading other comments this is not the first time cleanliness has been an issue. Also need extra hand towels in bathroom and doonas don’t fit the beds properly. Also extra blankets or doonas are required for cold nights.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Huge place we ended up only having 4 of us stay Bedding a bit light on
- Kylie (9/5): Modern property, peaceful location - Modern property, with all the amenities we needed for our group. Really appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack! Loved how quiet it was and the views of the surrounding vineyards. Nil
- Rosemary (10/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): - Beautiful large home looking over the vineyards. Close to town but also isolated and quiet. Had everything we needed.
- Sue (7/5): The location was great. The cleanliness did require attention. - Location. Beds. Welcome box was awesome. Cutlery and crockery were plenty - except a spatula. Cleanliness.. Outside table had not been wiped over in some time. Bathroom sinks were a problem with hair build up and one had a blockage which spurted black matter. One of the lounge chairs was falling to pieces. Kitchen sink had food in drain
- Annechiena (9/5): - A lovely big house with beautiful views of the vineyards. All the amenities were great and the gorgeous welcome basket and bottle of wine on arrival were really appreciated. Excellent location. The office doors were broken. Main room was a bit echoey and the front door could do with a cover, especially as it was raining when we arrived.
- John (8/5): -
- Zeljka (9/5): We love the house and the location, looking forward to our next visit. - We love the house and all of its facilities. We have stayed several times and look forward to staying again. Thank you for having us. This is not anything about not liking the property because we love it, just a suggestion for improvement, Perhaps some blinds on the living room as its gets very bright in the morning might be helpful.
Additional cleaning products would be useful too.
- Peter (10/5): Outstanding base for enjoying the best wineries in the Barossa. - Private location with excellent facilities.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Steinborner (8/5): - Location & view Water pressure was not good.
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - Everything as described Queen size quilt cover on Kingsize bed on cold night... but airconditioning most effective!
- Gonzalo (8/5): Very good -
- Van (6/5): Red Door lacks niceties - Great location. Lovely house. Great for family or two couples as there are separate wings. Not particularly generous welcome pack. Any condiments appear to have been left by other guests. Not enough crockery and glassware if you only wanted to run the dishwasher once a day. Broken internal clothes drying rack. No smart TV so only free to air viewing available. One hand towel for 2 people. No tissues. Overall impression expensive house but they cut corners with what is provided.
- Julianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (5/5): Great location and size of house perfect for 3 couples. Unfortunately lack of cleanliness let it down. - Location and very quiet The cleanliness was very poor. Furniture had not been moved for floor to be cleaned, windows had not been cleaned in a very long time.
- Andreas (5/5): Passable - spacious and lovely decor Not that clean, windows dirty and furniture average. Many bugs and ants etc needing lots of insect spray to keep at bay. Get some pest control.
- Colette (9/5): Our own little vineyard stay - Ample space and well layed out home. Kitchen was lovely with all home comforts. The Welcome box was a lovely idea. Peace and quiet but close enough to everything. The beds were a little hard and the pillow combinations were inconsistent (but that is very hard to accomodate for everyone's preference). The earwigs were numerous. Not something that everyone would be comfortable with but part of the environment I guess. Note sure about the fans especially in the bedroom as they couldn't be changed in speed.
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - The house and surrounds are beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped and had some essentials like oil and vinegar etc. Also the coffee machine and coffee were great as well as a bonus box of goodies. The house was advertised as 3 bedrooms and three bathrooms so we were expecting 3 ensuites but there were only 2 bathrooms and an extra toilet.
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (8/5): Spacious and comfortable modern home with Vineyard view - The location was very pretty, looking out onto the vines. Kitchen was well equipped and spacious with a butlers pantry. Good glassware and dishwasher. Bedrooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. Large living area and dining table for 6. Heating and cooling facilities via ducted air was very efficient. Breakfast provisions were appreciated but fairly basic. There were also few basic provision in the pantry - oils, salt, sugar, flour - but sadly no pepper - and no salt and pepper grinders or shakers for the table. The property advertises 3 bathrooms but it is really 1 ensuite and 1 shared bathroom plus an extra separate toilet and handbasin. I was a bit embarrassed because I had told friends that all couples had their own bathroom based on the description. As others have mentioned there are a few cobwebs that need a bit of attention although the main areas are very clean - just no-one doing a thourough go through on walls and corners. The property is managed by a corporate entity based in Sydney and although communication was timely and helpful the overall tone used is very officious with an emphasis on the rules and things not allowed. You also need to do a separate on line check in which required an identity document - I did it because I had little choice given the timing of our booking, but I am not keen on my information being stored by someone unknown to me, and this is not mentioned in the Booking.com description either.
- Carrol (8/5): Very good -
- Jadsada (10/5): Great family retreat - The photos don't capture how spacious this home is. We had plenty of room for a family trip of 5. It was especially clean and the view was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside looking over the vineyard. Short drive into town with plenty of sights close by. We would be planning to return 😀 Water pressure and hot water was not the best.
- Colleen (7/5): It could be a great property - The location was good....very quiet with a lovely view. The size of the house was very good. The windows were very dirty. There were cobwebs in several rooms. The skirting boards and walls also needed cleaning. The outdoor table had clearly not been cleaned for quite some time. The garden near the outdoor alfresco area desperately needed weeding. Also, the ensuite shower was leaking with very little water pressure. The clothes airer was broken.
Just a suggestion......some quality furniture and homewares, including some art in the house, would take it up a level. As would attention to detail in maintenance on the house.
- Nikki (10/5): Loved the place, have stayed before will stay again. - Great location, close to everything, beautiful views great layout. Very basic it was the house offers in terms of kettle, toaster, ran out of coffee pods, no paper towel to use in kitchen, not a lot of drinking glasses etc.
- Jos (8/5): Great once the stupid details were sorted. - Good location, very spacious, nice and quiet, Didn’t tell us about the $300 security deposit until check in time. Required personal details that were over the top - All this after we paid in full for the accomodation. The property was great, the “management” poor.
- Melissa (9/5): Terrific spot, lovely house, good value. - Beautiful spot. Magic in the middle of a small vineyard. Huge house, nice facilites and laundry. Very comfortable beds and large lounge room. Thank you for the welcome basket. Cooking utensils a bit old and a few pans could be replaced.
- Mari (10/5): An excellent stay. Would highly recommend. - Loved the house and location. Situated in a vineyard, it was lovely waking up to the mist in the vines and occasional kangaroos. The house is lovely, clean and spacious. It was really nice to return to after a busy day in the Barossa valley. Nothing to report.
- Atkinson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neville (9/5): Great setup for two or more couples. - Well appointed. Great layout. There were no microwave dishes to use in the microwave.
- Peta (10/5): Just really enjoyed the calmness and privacy - Loved the quiet space and the way it was set up with rooms at opposite ends. Shower pressure not wonderful. Shower fitting needs tightening as it leaks. That would increase pressure enough.
- Helen (10/5): Fabulous accommodation, couldn’t fault anything! -
- Jodie (8/5): Great layout for 2 couples or families with bedrooms at each end of the house. Has great potential but for the money pai - Spacious and great outlook. Washing machine didn’t work & when we made contact there was no real help offered. No bath mats or top sheets on beds, light bulb out on kitchen island bench & rangehood was very dirty.
- Talevski (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Very comfortable modern house all round excellent - Beautifully presented modern house amongst the vineyards. Excellent facilities perfect for two couples. Highly recommended Nothing
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful spacious home close to Nuriootpa. Lovely surrounding vineyards. Nil
- Shayne (9/5): Superb -
- Morag (10/5): Amazing property with so much space- inside and out! -
- Kaul (9/5): Superb -
- Bruce (7/5): Good -
- Jessica (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (5/5): Passable - The set up I like Air conditioning in the bedroom was not cool enough
The cleaning was not good.
The sliding door was very dirty.
The details were not good.
When you pay 1,500 for just 2 nights.
Front gardens and grass were neglected.
Sorry, I don't normally do negative, but I had to this time.
- Nyet (8/5): Overall is good - Sofa bed not comfortable only
- Alexis (9/5): Superb - The location, The peace and quiet, the size of the bedrooms and very comfortable beds My wife thought it could have been a bit cleaner with a few spiders wevs in the corners ( I didn't notice them)
- Nik (7/5): Good -
- Shari (9/5): Great. Would come again. - The property was lovely and fully equipped. Excellent location. Range of pillows is good but the hard pillow was very hard and the soft pillow was very soft and lumpy.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Et (9/5): Superb - The house is spacious and clean. The owner prepared us a snack pack which was very considering as it is like 15 mins drive to the town. The handle of shower at the master bedroom was broken when we checked in. I just notified the owner and no need to come to repair as it was only 2 nights. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
- Lynn (10/5): A very well appointed property with great views. - Gorgeous views and all the amenities we needed, I will definitely visit again. Cant think of anything
- Peter (9/5): Very nice, clean and central. - Very spacious, very central. Nothing I didn’t like, but would add a few things in the kitchen.
- Mei (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (8/5): Its the little things that matter. - Location was perfect. Great views in all directions. Very well located for the entire Barossa region. Accommodation was excellent. Facilities were good. Checkin found us with uncleaned accommodation since last guests. After a couple of phone calls and about half an hour, we were relocated to another property about 2 minutes drive away for the first night and the following day. Red Door was cleaned during that day and we relocated back to it during late afternoon. Views were excellent but the windows/flyscreens were not clean hence preventing full enjoyment of the scenery. There were also bugs in the sliding doors and window tracks. Vacuum cleaner was over full and unusable. Plastic flowers and plants overkill and better off without them. Main bedroom shower very slow to drain. It was clogged with about half a kilo of muck mostly hair (its very clean now thanks to us). Kitchen rubbish bin pedal lid was broken (now fixed thanks to us). This all sounds bad and it did spoil the full experience, but they can be very easily remedied.
- John (9/5): Great place to stay - clean, modern, spacious. Would definitely stay again. - Great place to stay. New, clean, spacious Minor - no hand towels not even for the stand alone toilet - soap but no hand towel. Great that linen supplied (can't believe some places don't supply) and 3 toilets in the house. Otherwise would have been 10/10
- Rosemary (7/5): Lovely location, spacious and comfortable 😊 - Spacious and beautiful outlook to the vineyard. Home overall very presentable (apart from below) and comfortable. Lots of cob webs on ceilings and skirting boards and throughout the interior. Window ledges need wiping down. Rubbish bin in kitchen was full of dried food when we removed the bin bag - should be washed.
- Amila (10/5): we had the best girls trip! the house was amazing - perfect location can’t fault it
- Subha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teck (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful place, cosy and comfortable . beds were great too.
- Judi (8/5): I’d recommend this Red Door to anyone wanting space, well thought out bedroom and bathroom facilities and comfort and en - space. fittings (lighting/kitchen set up) Contact from property managers. Nothing important except for the bin placement and that was a minor issue
- Leesha (10/5): Will exceed your expectations - Very spacious & comfortable. clean & well presented. House is easy to miss in the dark.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Abhishek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pitre (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anastasia (8/5): beautiful place for a rural wine retreat! beautiful location and had a responsive host - gorgeous, huge spacious house with no close neighbours do worry about electricity in the kitchen stopped for a day but was fixed the following morning; same with utensils, there were no kitchen towels or bin bags initially but that was also fixed.
- Tyson (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (9/5): awesome - Good ammenities, clean, spacious and well furnished. Outside dining area a little unkept and spider web on furniture
- Michael (10/5): Great location out of town - Great location in the middle of a vineyard.
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabian (9/5): Superb -
- Nicolenelin (10/5): Beautiful @ The Red Door - We loved the openness and cozy feel of the home, great location and quiet. We had everything we needed and more!
- Yy12 (3/5): Poor - Great layout with ample space for 6, separate laundry room, large pantry and good cooking area. To be honest, the place is really big and nicely decorated but room for improvement in certain areas:
1) lack of privacy with hardly any curtains in the living area. There are a few roller blinds along the corridor to the master bedroom that are dropping off. We didn't dare to touch.
2) pans and kitchen pantry not clean.
3) cob webs everywhere
4) perhaps it is summer time, there are a lot of crawlies in the house.
- Stein (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruce (9/5): Lovely just as advertised -
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): a very relaxing stay and so close to the the Barossa - spacious and clean
- Claire (10/5): Wonderful stay in a picturesque home - Absolutely loved the location. The house is beautifully presented in a stunning setting among the vineyards with well kept gardens and lovely flowers. Three spacious bedrooms, two generous bathrooms including a wonderful bath and a separate toilet facility. Perfect for large groups or families. Very well located, easy drive to many wineries, cafes and amenities. We absolutely loved our stay howver a very small improvement would be to have slightly more sauce pans, another pan and some surface spray. However the kitchen was incredibly spacious and well appointed and we had done simpler cooking it would have been perfect. A lovely basked of food was provided and condiments, foils etc which was greatly appreciated. Otherwise everything was perfect.
- Btechaus (9/5): Superb -
- Teunis (10/5): Thoroughly recommend. Close to cellar doors, eateries and retail. - Beautiful accommodation. spacious for two families amongst the vines. Clean, tidy and new. Bedding was extremely comfortable. Not enough bath towels for the number of people we booked. Face washes would also be useful.
- Nathan (10/5): Excellent spot to check out the Barossa region - Location was brilliant and the house ticked all the boxes for the whole group for our stay.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - The space between rooms was really convenient and we loved feeling like we had our own wings of the home We did feel rushed to leave as cleaners/maintenance arrived prior to our check out time/10am.
- Ian (8/5): fantastic location and a very comfortable place to use as a base for our exploration of the BarossaValley - The location of it and the facilities were really good. There was lots of space and it was very comfortable for the 6 of us! Overall there was nothing that we didn’t like.
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Felicity (6/5): Pleasant, however with a few small touches stay could be much better - Plenty of room and space for multiple families. Great open kitchen/family room. Coffee pod machine broken. No bread knife or teaspoons and kitchen lacked a few other essentials items. Central heating was very difficult to control by zoned areas - despite lowering temperature setting and turning off in multiple zoned areas (bedrooms) the house was extremely hot. House lacked the local Barossa breakfast provisions - the breakfast box that was supplied was very underwhelming.
- Sharon (10/5): We had the most amazing stay didn’t want to leave - The house and location was so
amazing and spacious with a modern
look. Everything
- Greg (10/5): excellent stay, quiet and lots of space - wonderful property, outlook and facilities
good bbq no
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Debra (10/5): Luxury comfort, with plenty of space. Good location - Beautiful view, Great space. Lovely set up. Close to a lot of things. It was great we booked a wine wagon tour which was able to pick us up from the property and drop us off, which was a great was to see and taste wines without anyone missing out. Nice little touch having a little box of treats supplied Nothing, all was great
