Guest Reviews
- Bhaumik (7/5): - Air conditioner was not working. I complained about it to guy and he told me that he will come next to fix it. He didn’t came, so we slept without heater for 3 nights in this winter.
- Robin Synn (7/5): Small motel sized room, great location - Location was great. I loved the view from the courtyard on the roof. It was clean and a good space. Nice modern shower. I wouldn't have much to complain about if it was advertised correctly. It being advertised as a studio apartment is a bit of a lie, that's why the reviews are so low. It's basically the size of a motel room. A small fridge and a microwave, hidden behind the door, does not a kitchen make. Tv was very small, room was very small. The car park was a bit confusing as to where you were allowed to park, no lines.
- Fathers (10/5): It met our needs - Secure parking A bit noisy from the hooligans at Macdonalds!
- Ignacio (9/5): - Clean, affordable and closer to tram stop . Good value for money, would recommend!
- Paolo (7/5): -
- jodie (10/5): Great location easy access to shops food Luna park the palais the tram - So close to everything We booked late and they had last room ready Very clean Carrying luggage up stairs lol but it wasn’t that bad
- Steven (2/5): Won't be back. - Location was fantastic. Property was clean. Toilet was broken. Car park entry was convoluted.
- Ash Marie (1/5): Awful host and unsafe - I arrived at the property and the keys to the room were missing. The host told me how to get the spare keys and I went to the room. Upon entering I found another person's belongings in the room, I immediately contacted the host, which after waiting quite some time I finally got a response of "you are the only person who has made a reservation tonight" and nothing more. Complete radio silence after that. Very unprofessional management & unsafe to stay at.
- Carla (5/5): Great location not so comfortable - Great location The bed and pillows were very hard. Not alot of hot water. I only had the shower on hot water and it was luke warm
The fitted sheet on the bed had bleach stains.
- Liz (7/5): -
- AL EAD (7/5): Location is very central to amenities - Location is great, however also a downfall if you're looking for sleep when events are on due to pubs.
Great shower, clean, cozy and just the right size. Bed is a bit hard. 1 plate and teaspoon.
- Stephen (8/5): Comfy and cosy. - The host communicated well and gave great instructions. The bed was comfy and bathroom very clean. The location was awesome for a visit to St Kilda. Because of it's location being so close to Acland St (which is good), it was a little noisy.
- Peter (6/5): -
- Shazzabot (6/5): Great spot - Great location, right in the guts of it. Clean and tidy. Being right in the guts of it means it is very noisy all night.
- Warren (9/5): -
- Lynda (7/5): Convenient & Comfortable, however do your research of the area before booking. - Location is great. Really comfortable mattress. Good to airconditing The apartment initially appeared tidy; however, the walls were grubby and marked. The shower had noticeable rust and mould, and there was no ventilation in the shower area, which caused an unpleasant smell when it was wet. The only window that opened had no insect screen, making it difficult to leave open without bugs getting in. As a result, the room became very stuffy and hot.
The apartment is located opposite the Dogs Bar, and the noise was extremely loud. Being a weekend, it continued until after 1 am on Friday and Saturday nights. I didn’t mind the music as much, but the loud voices and screaming were very difficult to block out.
There are no blackout blinds, so neon lights shine through the slats at night, and in the morning, you’re awake with the birds. The blinds were also impossible to open because the drawstring was too short to reach, so they remained closed, which was frustrating.
The listing also fails to mention that there are two flights of stairs to climb. Additionally, there is no comfortable seating — the cube-style seats make you feel as though you are sitting on the floor.
There is parking, but very limited.
Although I had these challenges, my stay was comfortable to a point and served the purpose of the weekend.
- Tim (7/5): -
- R Brown (8/5): -
- Shiralee (5/5): You really get what you pay for with this one- decent if you don’t plan on spending much time in the room - The location was AMAZING and aside from the street noise, the complex itself was very quiet which we were not expecting as it looks pretty rough from the outside. The bed was very hard and the whole place needs a deep clean but particularly the bathroom, which had black mould scattered all over.
It was also difficult to have an early night as the room is not soundproof at all and there was live music down the street
- Tegan (6/5): - Location, and confortable bed Wasnt able to fins a wifi code. Lots of massages from the host while staying. No bathroom ammenities in the pumps
- James (10/5): -
- Carol (2/5): - Dirty ,no coffee, mould in shower, noisy area
- Sue (10/5): -
- Venkata Susmith Kumar (6/5): - The owner was very responsive and easy to reach when I was unable to open the mailbox. He responded quickly, and I really appreciate that. Overall, I was not satisfied with my stay in the room.
Initially, I asked whether a refund would be possible if I modified the dates, despite the stated “No Refund” policy. I expected a clear response—either yes or no—but did not receive any reply.
The Wi-Fi quality was very poor. Even after connecting, pages were not loading, which was extremely disappointing.
The hairdryer was not working.
There was no body wash or shower gel provided in the bathroom.
No coffee powder was provided in the room.
Given the extensive instructions and penalties outlined by the owner, I expected the basic amenities to be in proper condition. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I am very disappointed with the overall experience.
- FERNANDA (8/5): -
- Flavia (8/5): Fantastic, will definitely stay again when wanting to visit the attractions in St Kilda. - The location to all the attractions was incredible, and the view from the rooftop was perfect. The room was very clean the host left was very nice to leave soap, shampoo, conditioner, tea and coffee etc The bed was a little hard for my liking, but my husband was happy with it. Although tea and coffee were supplied, it would have been nice if there were a few small, long-life milks in the fridge, just for those like me who wake up extremely early in the morning.
- Evan (10/5): -
- Steven (2/5): Disappointing. - Close to the Palais Theatre. Next to McDonalds so you get a LOT of drive-thru noise! Fridge was in need of a good defrost. No milk in fridge. Advertised as having wifi, but no password to be seen anywhere in the room. Shower needs tightening.
- Natalie (10/5): Great location and value for money. - Excellent location. Great value for money.
- Anthi (10/5): - Very clean, comfortable, close to beach.
- Dan (1/5): -
- Howard (3/5): Disappointing. - Close to tram stop. The staircases are filthy. It is noisy, next to Mac Donald’s with in and outs until very late. There is’nt a single chair in the room.
- Bronwyn (7/5): A great place to sleep and relax after a busy day, and the perfect location to experience St. Kilda - Relaxing bedroom Messages and information I received had conflicting check-in and check-out times, this did affect which trains I caught and interferes with activities planned. Noisy BUT will take noise for the great location
- Simone (10/5): Perfectly positioned comfort - Location and calibre of interor presentation The common area of the building is extremely poor
- Anastasia (5/5): -
- Stuart (6/5): - Proximity to Palais Theatre and St Kilda. Secure car parking. Room itself was ok but the pub across the road was really bad. Very loud music til midnight. Then loud people at the pub and maccas up til 3am. Worst night sleep I've had in a very long time. Stayed on a Saturday for reference.
- Bianca (6/5): Fine but needs a deep clean - Close to everything we needed! Bathroom had mould in shower 😢
- Katherine (9/5): Decent accomadation at extremely reasonable price in a vibrant area! - Location was superb! Excellent public transport, shops and eateries all nearby. Room had essentials and was perfect for us Towels were disappointing-very worn and shabby.
- Kelly (2/5): Poor facilities - Location We have some feedback
You have things which require addressing urgently
We have 5 BB in our family. If anyone of ours was like this I would expect a 1 rating and terrible feedback. I would expect a refund and will be providing feedback to Booking.com
Will send photos as well.
1). Apartment needs good Clean and dust, dirty walls, and mound in shower roof, health department reportable.
2) terrible and unacceptable towels, old, thin and scratchy.
3) No top sheet in bed.
4) No milk for tea/coffee
5) picture on floor by bed, unsafe and reduced circulation space.
6). Freezer needs defrosting
- Tracey (5/5): Location was great, that’s all. Owner said to phone him if needed, I did no answer, was difficult to gain entry with the - Location was great, this is why I chose to stay here and knowing it had parking,But the parking gate was under repair, instructions sent, it took 3 times to try get back in the car once I had to walk through and press a button manually, gate then kept closing as I attempted to drive forward- this is not great for the elderly, as was my solo guest. this made me late for my show. Bed only had one sheet, no top sheet so who know who else has shared the doona. No top sheet , no milk for coffee and tea that was supplied. No general shampoo. Also toilet seat was up upon arrival and no sign of clean strip that you see in most accomodation stays.
- Rossington (4/5): ok - centrally located the bathroom was not clean
- Timothy (8/5): Owner was very helpful and accommodating with checking in and always returned calls or queries. This unit is excellent f - The location is excellent. Short walk to trams and buses and very short walk to Acland St. shops and cafés. Adequate cooking facilities and good comfortable bed and good bathroom. A bit noisy through the night sometimes with bars close by. But for such a good location and close to everything, it’s a reasonable trade off.
- Bianca (7/5): - Great location The gate to get in was broken, there were homeless people sleeping in carport.
- Michelle (7/5): Stay met our needs with close proximity to the Palais for our show - Close proximity to everything A bit noisy
- Pamela (10/5): -
- John C (8/5): - The location and the apartment itself is quite comfortable. The check-in process. Confusion with different giving sources (booking.com vs whatsapp) different stories as to when I could check-in. Minor issue of microwave not being clean.
The challenge with the location is that it is across the road from dogs bar which has live music most nights and observed that it regularly goes over the curfew for live music. Loud and then you have the drunk people afterwards. You will need headphones. Not the fault of the apartment but if you are noise sensitive you may need to assess.
- matthew (1/5): would never stay there ever again - no disability access none of the toiletry dispensers in the room worked loud music was playing till 4 am upon fighting and arguing in the streets not good enough
- Geoff (8/5): Perfect for our purpose - Exactly where to park was a little confusing as parking bays where not marked
- Jeremy,sharon (10/5): -
- moremagicthanharry (10/5): -
- Catherine (3/5): Poor. - Location to Palais and restaurants Not clean, left over old food items, no bathroom stuff and towels, bedding has seen better days. Old tea, sugar and coffee that should thrown out. Tv only a couple channel’s. Would not again.
- Simone (10/5): Great location - Presentation and cleanliness THe building looked like it needs to be condemned, frankly I was a bit worried for my safety, thought I made a huge mistake
- Angela (5/5): - Great location with parking space. Room was very small for studio apartment. Linen was old. Tea, coffee sugar were cheap and not individual servings. No milk. Toiletries were almost empty.
- Alison (10/5): Will definitely stay here next time I’m in St. Kilda - Clean and tidy room, super comfortable bed and ideal location, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay
- Evelyn C (10/5): - Love this place, excellent for people who want a night out in the city and love rooftop views
- Cara (8/5): perfect for a night stay as we had an event down there and only needed the basics - location and car space No issue with property itself. however the correspondence from owners was confusing originally because it stated different things. it does say it would give details 2 hours before (12 noon) but it only gets provided just before 2pm (check in time). also some parts show 11am but others 10am. so I was a little paranoid as they are based overseas
but it all worked out well.
- Raghuvir (5/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Was a great few days..will be back - Location and the roof top Hardly any hot water
- Kara (5/5): The room itself was nice and comfortable, but the apartment building was sketchy - I liked that it was close to where I needed to be and the room itself was actually pretty nice and comfortable. The apartment building is pretty sketchy and is definitely a bit scary for 2 younger females to be staying at.
- Megan (8/5): Small but clean and comfortable, off street parking a great bonus. - Nice and clean and fantastic location Tea/coffee and milk might have been nice but not essential
- Moremagicthanharry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lenon (5/5): Passable - I loved that there was parking The Air Conditioner was not working so the room was freezing.
There was no milk for a coffee
- Stephanie (5/5): Passable - It was close to everything. Clean and easy to get to. Bed was comfy and room was well set up. It was no easy to sleep due to the bar directly across the road. Shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold no inbetween. Unable to make a cuppa on arrival due to no milk or anything being provided.
- Shirelle (5/5): Passable - Nice and close to the venue I was attending.
Also close to pubs and clubs ect. Wasn't very clean
- Russell (8/5): Good apartment but hard to get in. - Apartment was bigger than expected. Location was excellent. Room was comfortable. Parking was in a secure area at the apartment block. McDonalds was right next door and supermarkets close by. Check-in details were not sent to me until I finally found a phone number to call the owner. The phone number on Booking was in Malaysia and wouldn't connect. I finally found another local number that worked. The owner was then very helpful. Check-in process was confusing and over complex. The combination lock on the key box was easy to understand but opening the box after unlocking it was not easy or clear. Following the check-in instructions they took me to the first floor where I found the room was actually on the 2nd floor. The bathmat at the shower was quite wet and the towels felt slightly wet. This made us unsure if the bathroom had been serviced so we didn't use it. It looked clean but the wet towels were a red flag.
- Ansis (8/5): OK for the most part but frustrating to get into the Car Park. - Location is excellent, close to everything. Fob key worked OK for the room but not too well elsewhere, especially for the Car Park, where it sometimes took over a minute to register and start to open the gate - I suspect the issue to be not the fob key but the sensor for the gate.
Overhead light in the room only had one out of the two filaments working.
- Alison (3/5): Very disappointing - Location This property was filthy.
The shower and toilet had not been cleaned for a long time.
Dirty bedding as if they made the bed between me and last person but not changed the bedding.
Your tea and coffee was very old and had mould in the coffee, mould on washing sponge.
Fridge and microwave also hadn’t seen a clean in a month or two.
I run a similar accommodation on this platform. Get a better cleaner.
- Tie (7/5): Good -
- Terrell (7/5): Owner attempted to scam me for $104 - The location is great, the price was fair and the room was very comfortable I tried cleaning the floors before checking out but the vacuum was not working so I put it back in the cupboard where I found it. Now I've been sent a request for $104 for "breaking the vacuum". Very disappointing since the vacuum wasn't working prior to us staying there.
- Samantha (10/5): This accom helped make our Melbourne trip perfect!! - Great spot!
Very clean and comfortable!
Great communication!
- Deb (4/5): Too many rules for a basic room. - Great location and parking facilities were great when you finally read the many emails and messages through various sources to get codes etc to get in. An eye mask and air pods are definitely required for a more comfortable stay.
- Vitale (9/5): My friend and l loved the location as we had a show @ palais -
- Vicki (9/5): Great value for money and excellent location - All was good. Love the location.
The unit was very compact and had everything we needed.
The bed was very comfy and the shower was great.
Contacting the owner was easy and he was delightful to speak to. Cost of rental was good value for money.
Will definitely book again when back in St Kilda. Nothing really.
- Jeremy,sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (6/5): Acland St Apartment - Location was very good. Room was clean and tidy Lack of communication. Was told instructions would come day before but did not get instructions until arrival at site.also no replies to requests for information from landlord or agent . Extremely noisy from outside crowds until 4 am
- Laurence (4/5): Felt unsafe most of the time and did not get much sleep due to live band in the pub across the road, lots of noise from - Proximity to beach Noisy, questionable area and people sleeping rough under the building
- Michael (6/5): Serviceable. - Good location. Pretty good price. Very noisy due to bar across the road and the air con was incredibly loud.
- Wunderlich (9/5): 7-3-25 - All instructions were accurate. N/A
- Oliver (8/5): Perfect location if you only need a place to park, sleep and wash - Location was amazing! Linen could have been better presented but that's all.
- Kellie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gjd (4/5): Great location however cleanliness lets the apartment down. - Location was brilliant. Overall cleanliness of this property was poor. There was dust on every window ledge and on the top of the wardrobe where the TV was located. The remote controls were sticky. The bedding did not smell fresh. The bathroom had mould around the window. There was a homeless man sleeping outside the entrance to the block of apartments. The owner attempted to charge us 15AUD for a missing sugar canister. This was placed on the window ledge to stop the blinds from banging against the window due to wind (the windows were shut tight). The noise from the bar opposite was loud until the early hours of the morning - supplying earplugs would be a kind gesture.
- Kirby (8/5): Very good - It was close to where we needed to go It was close to party/club like premises that kept us up late
- Kylie (7/5): It was close to where I needed to be. - It was a great location. The car parking situation was terrible. I had to park right up against a bush and trees to fit my car into the last spot. Which I was assured there would be a carpark.
- Libby (8/5): wonderful location - Location. We had tickets to a show at Palais Theatre, just 150m walk. 2 flights of stairs was more that I had hoped. Room was very small. I had to phone at 3:00pm to ask for key code.
- Tracey (7/5): It’s a basic bed and bathroom, cheap enough for what it is, we can’t really fault the property enjoyed our stay. - The location to transport, restaurants and bars It was noisy till about 1am most nights but it’s to be expected with a bar across the road, we just adjusted our body clock to accommodate
- Colin (3/5): Never staying there again or recommending it to anyone who asks. - The only thing going for this property is it's location close to the Palais theatre. Sheer curtains on the room with a street light directly out side, thus the room was never dark. Also the loud band in the pub across the road and no dampening of the sound by the drapes didn't allow sleep until very late. No mention was made that access to any room is up steep stairs, no lift. Generally the venue is extremely run down.
- Ann (7/5): Close to transport and the beach. - The location was great as we had a wedding in St Kilda. It is close to transport, the beach and shops. It had everything that we would need for our stay. The place is a little run down (a bit of mould in the bathroom and plaster off the wall under the desk), but we were out everyday and didn't want to hang around. The view is great from the rooftop. It felt safe. It was incredibly economical which gave us extra spending to do fantastic things in the city. The entrance up to the flat was dirty and old and made me worried at first but the flat was clean. The stay is across from the Dog Bar in St Kilda, so there is music most nights to about 9.30pm and much later than that on that weekend. I brought a pair of noise reduction earmuffs and couldn't hear a thing. So no big problems. The bed is very hard which my husband loved but not so much me.
- Vicki (2/5): It was very close to where we were going but room very disappointing - Location Wet new towel rolled up, window sills dusty, smells like mould, not value for price
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (5/5): Great location and secure parking. - Location great. Secure parking great. Went to have a shower a couple of hours after arrival and found towels were still wet, unsure if from previous stay or from being washed.
The bathroom walls and exhaust fan, cupboards, carpets, window ledges covered in dust. Not owners fault but be aware pub and live music straight across road so don’t expect quiet early Saturday night.
- Samantha (7/5): Good value for money - Location awesome No wine glasses, had to go buy some
No face washer
No milk
- John (7/5): Good -
- Les (7/5): Good -
- Aivyn (10/5): Exceptional - 好
- Edouard (6/5): Nice area, suits two people well - Location is great : near the beach, not too far from city center, coffees nearby, parking available Not super clean at check in, cockroach in the bathroom.
- Andrew (1/5): First impressions of this place was Im not staying here - Nothing as we didnt end up staying here,Due to the look of the outside of the building. And no signs to say what the place was. Building and no signs to say what was here.No one in office to meet you.
- Shannon (9/5): Great value for short stay - Good spot close to restaurants bars and take away - short walk to beach. Great value, great check in/out instructions Little noisy
- Urszula (7/5): Nice and central - Great location. Compact but had all the facilities needed for the stay. The bed was quite uncomfortable. We could feel the inner springs, so we felt tired and sore in the morning.
- Sharyn (7/5): Good location - The location Needed a top sheet for the bed found that weird!! Also shower was abit dirty, other than that was happy
- Christine (9/5): Superb - Convenient
The helpful online staff The lack of acknowledgement that old people don't know how to use bookings chat box.
