Warm water is scarce, light went off both nights which might not be related to the flat, there was no water at all one of the nights, the infrastructure is poor in general, the TV don’t work which is not a big deal for us but maybe is for you. Shower was great, apartment was clean and serviced every day and bed was comfortable. The sitting area wasn’t super comfortable. There’s a campsite next door which we were unaware of and some late night noise.

So this is for your other property by the cafeteria and laundry.other end of town.

Sonst wären mir die vielen guten Bewertungen absolut unverständlich. Enger Blickkontakt zwischen Schlafzimmer und dem benachbarten Campingplatz. Kein Kontakt zum Vermieter außer zum raschen Kassieren. Keine Reduktion des Preises um die Mehrwertsteuer bei Kartenzahlung. Komplett in akzeptables Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis, auch wenn man das allgemein hohe Preisniveaus in El Chalten berücksichtigt.

Supermarket close. Gas stove for heating kettle and a few kitchen utensils for cooking. Tiny, no room for travel bags. Room 3 is not upstairs/downstairs like in picture, single level. No plug for sink for washing up. Camping ground outside bedroom window. Might be noisy in peak season.

• Tim (5/5): Smelly and dated - would not recommend a downstairs apartment - Good location close to the main hiking trailheads, supermarket & town The apartment was smelly with a very unpleasant odour emanating from the bathroom plumbing - we had to keep the bathroom door closed & cover the drain holes with towels to limit the smell permeating the rest of the apartment. The downstairs apartment was dated with doors which were hard to shut & lock, the bathroom window locking lever poked out at eye level when having a shower. Limited hot water when having a shower - it ran out quickly - not what you want after hiking all day! The accommodation building is difficult to find (initially) as there is no sign and you have to walk through a yard to reach it - a simple sign on the street would make it much easier to find when people first arrive. This accommodation the most we paid during our 6 week South America holiday yet was much more run down than other places we stayed at. It is expensive for what you get. I would not recommend a downstairs apartment as it appears the upper level apartments get better reviews.

The heater works but wind comes in from basically everywhere. It’s super cold. Also when it rains heavy the sealing starts to drop. Also our sink broke down.

• Matt (10/5): Very nice and new inside! - The place was nicely remodeled and renovated. We were surprised to the upside. The mattresses were foam, which I liked. In any case, not cheap showing detail put in to lights, mattress, etc. A little difficult to find at night. It's not obvious as place is tucked in behind trees and a narrow path from small empty field above. Looked like an abandoned or incomplete building. Turn right, go down few steps, and behind the brush is the place.

• Cassie (6/5): Good facilities and location, poor administration - The facilities were good and clean. The apartment contains everything you need. What detracted from the enjoyment of our stay was poor communication and administration of our bookings. There is a self check in process and as we were doing some hiking and leaving on early buses, we needed to depart the apartment early in the mornings. There was really poor organisation on when we could make payment and we continually had to follow up via direct messaging to sort things out late into the evening.

• Emily (7/5): Odd communication from host - The apartment was nice though, good location, clean, and nice apartment. She texted the morning of our check-in and said that it was apartment number six. We checked in in the afternoon, and then she texted out in the early evening, erasing the previous message and saying that it was apartment four. I asked her if she had given the code of the apartment to someone else, and that potentially they were going to be able to access our things. She didn’t answer the question of whether she had done this or not but just said don’t worry that won’t happen. She did not offer to change our code. She then showed up two days later with a credit card machine and asked us to pay without first introducing herself or making any small talk. In general, poor communication and service.

It was difficult to find it as the entrance is hidden behind trees and garden. Big sign of some kind would certainly help.

Easy access to supermarkets, other shops and walking routes Some people might be put off by the fact that the site is still being developed and the property overlooks an untidy campsite and area. For some people, the stairs in the split level apartment may be a problem with no hand rail.
• Christine (9/5): Comfortable stay in a very convenient location. - This was a very modern and new apartment. Nice and clean, Comfy beds. Sufficient cooking implements, crockery and cutlery to make meals. Very warm - much appreciated as it was cool and pretty wet for 1.5 days. Nice to come back to a warm and dry place after a long walk. The shower was great, hot and powerful. Bathroom had everything needed. Comfortable seating area. Good view into the distance but the area immediately below could do with a tidying up. Despite the couple of negatives, would stay there again. The bathroom was a little narrow! The outside steps to the apartment were not easy with heavy suitcases. The inside stairs to the upper floor had no hand rail and were quite narrow - which I why I have given it a 9 rather than 10 -again difficult to carry suitcase.
• Jenny (7/5): Generally it was a pleasant stay. If they had supplied more dish ware, it would be a better experience. - Reasonable price, and the host is nice. I think it is located in the wind path. It was very windy when we stay there, the wind blew so hard that the whole room were shaken. We were so scared almost can’t sleep. Another thing is that there are only two plates and one bowl, and not enough for more than one person to use.

• Joshua (6/5): Nice place for the price, WiFi could be better but that seems to be the story in El Chalten. - I liked the large towels. Mostly quiet location. Of the busy street which was nice. The bed was comfy also and we liked that it wasn’t two twin beds together like some places. It was nice to have a gas stove and although tricky to light it was great to use to boil water when the power was out. The place had toilet paper! The shower was small and couldnt fit two people. The kitchen had most everything we needed besides a spatula. The power went out a few times while we were there. The WiFi was pretty terrible and only one of the two worked occasionally. Pretty much 5-10 minutes working and not working for 30+ minutes.

Lights outside don't turn off. Shower drain is clogged. Not all hobs work. Entrance looks like a construction site. Not enough place to open a suitcase in the room. DISGUSTINGLY EXPENSIVE FOR THE BAD PLACE IT IS.

• Lena (3/5): Poor - - in Case of Problems, the owner replied quickly - the apartment was Not really clean: the floor was not properly cleaned, the bed sheets did Not appear very clean etc  - the while furniture was cheap and not well maintained. The Windows are broken and it is not possible to Close the doors in bathroom or bedroom, the sponge in the kitchen was dirty, the soap in the bathroom was filled up with water, water leakage at the heaters etc  - price way to high for what you get - dollar-ARS Exchange rate does Not match the official rate from google - ongoing work right next to the apartment which was loud - we were Not informed about planned Power cuts  - for Check in you have to go to a Supermarket and wait for the keys there. This makes it complicated and a self Check in with a Key Box would be easier and faster

• Kelly (9/5): Comfortable Apartment in Great Location - This apartment was well equipped with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had what we needed for cooking and the shower was hot with good water pressure. The comfy bed and garden made our stay very restful after several days of camping. Really our only complaint is the price we paid. We have been traveling through Patagonia for three weeks and this is the most we've paid anywhere. We booked this as a last resort for a night because we returned early from camping and couldn't find anything else in town.
• Catalin (9/5): Nice and cozy place! - Nice and cozy apartment in a central location of El Chalten. Comfortable bed and very clean overall, the host was very nice and helpful! Great place for a stay in El Chalten. The only thing I would say is they are currently renovating the property, so the workers would start very early in the morning with noise (8am), so you couldn't rest past that point. Another is because of the strong wind in El Chalten, the bedroom can get noisy.

The bed is very comfortable, all the facilities are good, great kitchen. The owner is very nice, took us from the bus station when arrived and ordered for us a taxi for the way back to the station. nothing
