Once settled, it’s hard to leave and we’ll definitely be back! - The property is a 5 minute drive from Cygnet and sits on gentle slope overlooking the river and valley. A stunning outlook! Mon and Matt thought of everything to make our stay at Moon River comfortable: a generous welcome basket, well stocked pantry, kitchen cooking and dining ware, tasteful and very comfortable furniture and decorations. Though we didn’t use it, the wood fire was set up ready to go! N/A

Inside, the home is wonderfully spacious and meticulously appointed with everything one could need—anchored by a kitchen that invites genuine ambition, from slow suppers to properly elaborate feasts, and thoughtfully stocked with contemporary Tasmanian cookbooks, which made cooking here feel both inspired and deeply local. Mon was exceptionally communicative throughout, and the welcome hamper she prepared—brimming with local cheeses and regional produce—was simply incomparable to anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. While the location is decidedly rural—so it isn’t within walking distance of shops or cafés—that seclusion is very much part of its charm, bringing rare quiet, open skies, and a true sense of escape.

• Maryanne (10/5): A slice of paradise! - Moon River is a tiny piece of paradise! It is set in a very peaceful, quiet location with a gorgeous view of the Huon River and beyond. Its position allows easy day drives to Cockle Creek/ Hastings caves, the Tahune Airway and Bruny island as well as being around 4 km from the tiny town of Cygnet. The property is beautifully decorated and is just so comfortable especially the lounge and the beds. There is absolutely nothing missing as the host has paid such attention to detail everything is there to help you enjoy a completely relaxing holiday. We absolutely loved our 5 night stay and would highly recommend the property to anyone who needs to recharge their battery. Nothing

• Clive (10/5): If you want peace and tranquillity, then this is it! - Beautiful aspect, with a spectacular view, perched high above the water. So quiet - it really is a retreat! Just what we wanted. Very well furnished with extra special touches by the owner, including a lovely welcome pack with cheeses, berries and a local cider.

• Jalda (10/5): Well equipped and accommodating owner. - Close to where our family members are, just came for our first visit and loved it. Mon was lovely and had great house. Did a day trip to Bruny, ate at the local pub another night in Franklin, all in a short trip of the accommodation, thanks Mon!! Could say the weather but won’t as you make the best of what is dealt. House was lovely and warm and well equipped, no complaints.
• Lynne (9/5): A high end property with charm and comfort and views all the way to Paradise. - The views were gob smacking, the bed super comfy, the linens were LUXE and all the little touches eg provision of toiletries, gift basket, air freshener etc very generous. Drinking and showering water was out of this world. Struggled each day to keep bread down in the toaster....would eventually work after 5 or 6 attempts. Might pay to check it. Split system heating struggles with the high ceiling and glass windows. Was fine in living areas but bedrooms and wet areas could be a little cold....discovered heater in main robe on last day, so host has obviously already addressed this.

Mon and Matt could not do enough for us. We loved Moon River and look forward to our next stay.
