• Adrian (9/5): Fantastic location and great apartment. Recommended. - Great locations and apartment size. Modern, clean and good pool. Minutes from all the action in the centre of Port Douglas and straight out to the beach from the front door The property is private and not associated with the reception. Therefore, it’s effectively unmanned for your proposes and you only have email interaction (which was very good for the one instance we used it).

• Marina (7/5): What could have been a 10/10 stay ended up being a 7. - Loved the location and the fact we could walk straight out to the pool. The apartment was very spacious There was no coffee machine so we bought plunger coffee but when we went to use the plunger the glass container was all cracked at the bottom. The nonstick frypan is in disgusting condition and the egg flip was encrusted with egg and melted as soon as it touched heat. Had to buy our own frypan and egg flip. The sunflower oil that was supplied was rancid and out of date, had to buy our own. The kitchen drain was breeding drain gnats which was very annoying. Had to pour boiling water in both drains every morning and keep drains plugged. This needs to be treated. Also the internet was poor.

The room we stayed in had a spotlight outside which was on ALL night and made it very very difficult for anyone to sleep as the blind was completely ineffective.

• Gokal (4/5): Good apart from the condition of the property. - Did not purchase breakfast. This property was let through Seascape but managed by the owner. The shower was not cleaned properly. There was hair on the floor. The lounge is very old and the cushions smell. The cushions are so bad that you sink into it and it is very difficult to get out. The owner provided thick cheap blankets which looked like it was never cleaned. Blankets are not appropriate for such a hot climate. We asked for a doona but Seascape advised that the owner does not want to supply. It is clear that the owner is trying to maximise profits and not spending on the upkeep of the place. There is no extractor in the toilet / bathroom / laundry and I had to leave the windows fully open. The walls and ceiling were dripping with condensation when the clothes drier was running.

• Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Was a great location to the beach and shop, Cafe . The only thing I didn't like at times , maintenance was going on around the building and I was noisy at some times of the day when trying to relax .

• Alice (2/5): Dark dingy apartment with no privacy - Car parks now marked with apartment numbers. Size of open kitchen, dining and lounge area. Access to pool. Shared BBQ if you don't mind and bbq areas across the road. The apartment was on the ground floor in the corner so it got no light on the balcony - washing had difficulty drying. No sheers on the windows so everyone could see into the main bedroom, 2nd bathroom, lounge and kitchen areas - no privacy. Floors were very dirty and that was when I cleaned a small portion with a wipe (will not show you the photo as it was gross) and initially a strong bleach smell in bathrooms. Toilet paper was already used and not much left in the roll. Pillows were musty and long overdue for a replacement. Main bed had me sleeping on a slope - needed mattress replacement. Blankets smelt like they hadn’t been washed in a while and were musty. As someone also mentioned there’s occasionally a loud sound from the hot water service or something which scared the begeezes out of me each time it occurred at night. Pool wooden decking got hot quickly so it was something to be mindful of. Port Douglas is a very humid environment and it appears Beaches does not renew its furnishings often enough as compared to other resorts we’ve previously stayed in Port Douglas. Considering the price we paid we do not recommend Beaches and will not stay there again.

• Catherine (10/5): Exactly what we were hoping our holiday would be. - The apartment was surprisingly spacious and perfect for our family of 4. The ammenities were great and the pool was amazing! The views of the beach made you really feel like you were on holidays. The apartment was clean and had all of the items you needed to drop your bags and start your holiday. We will return!! It was great. Loved it all.
• Stephen (4/5): Disappointing for the price - Great location and nice pool Very disappointed with the condition and cleanliness of some of the furniture, especially the lounge, main bed and outdoor seats. The blind in the main room had a lot of mould on it too. The apartment could do with a thorough clean, especially around doors, and a new lounge and outdoor cushions.

Across the road from the beach, 10-15 mins walk down the main street down to the marina, cafe and restaurant within minutes if not seconds. Plenty of space that as a family of four we weren't on top of each other. Nothing really.

The en-suite bathroom needs a fan in it as it stays very hot & foggy in there for ages after someone has a shower.

• Peter (8/5): Fabulous! - We provided our own breakfast...kitchen was well equipped and user friendly. There is also a cafe on the corner of the building where you can order meals, coffee cakes etc.... with a daily special for each day of the week. There were a few interruptions with tradies having to fix first the smoke alarms which went off without any reason. The washing machine tub filled overnight from a drip at the back, even though everything was switched off and flooded the bathroom floor. The microwave stopped working but I was able to fix it by switching it off at the back and then back on to reset. The safe we were never able to open as previous tenants had left it shut with their personal code. The safety latch on the front door was only half screwed in...We notified Management about everything....and management were quick to send trades people to fix things as they arose....Location was fabulous...would stay there again!

• Connie (3/5): We booked for 3 nights and left after 2. - The beds were comfortable. The unit smelled very bad as soon as we walked in. Like it had been mopped with dirty water or a dirty mop. We could not get rid of the smell even after airing it out for a full day.

• Nickolas (7/5): Good - Friendly staff when checking in (though at a separate location to the apartment, not onsite). The apartment location within Port Douglas is great, just across the road from four mile beach and away from the busy centre but only a short walk away. The apartment was spacious and functional with everything we needed for our stay. We wouldn't class the apartment we stayed in as "deluxe" - the kitchenware and some of the furniture appeared quite cheap, and the cream sofa especially has seen better days, it was worn and very grubby which felt a bit icky to sit on. As the apartment is nestled away in the inner corner our view was only of other balconies, unfortunately not of the beach as we had hoped.
• Lisa (7/5): A relaxing break in a very comfortable apartment! - Centrally located, spacious bedrooms and apartment was lovely, ensuite and another bathroom. Gorgeous view of pool and beach. We were not told it was on the third floor ( and I have a spinal injury). There are no lifts and the steps are very steep, more than your normal stair height. Sadly as much as our apartment looked beautiful. It was in need of a lot of maintenance. Eg the washing machine flooded, the dishwasher never worked the whole 10 days of our trip, the sliding door was coming off it’s track, there was no water jug , no salad servers other than huge big long bbq tongs,clock on wall was broken, blankets for beds hadn’t been cleaned from previous tenants. Seascape were incredible and tried their best to fix as much as they could and we got one night off of accommodation. But I do feel some of these could and should have been checked before guests go in.Also wifi was down during our stay. Other than this the apartment was lovely, very big. Large spacious kitchen and loving dinning table and dunked lounge room. Would stay again here!

• Corrina (9/5): Fabulous relaxing and fun family holiday in an incredible location with beach, shops and restaurants - Awesome location, well appointed apartment for a family of four, would recommend and would definitely stay again. Easy to communicate with booking agency and amenities like pool towels, cling wrap, bin bags, washing liquid, washing machine and dryer all very useful for an extended stay. Pool looked a bit bigger from the photos online but honestly not really much we can fault!

The apartment was not clean, mainly the floors, when we arrived. The cleaning products used were overpowering in terms of smell. The couch in loungeroom was filthy and sticky. A large linen bag was left outside the apartment and not collected until I advised Seascape office 3 days later.

• Brede (7/5): overall we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay at Beaches! - The property was in a good location, opposite the beach. The walk to the Main Street was not too far enough. The beds were terrible, the bed in the master room was tiny, low and very uncomfortable. It glided around the floor easily too. it wouldn’t take much to make it better, perhaps invest in a mattress topper at least, or simply a decent new bed. The couch was really grubby, marks all over it.n No vacuum cleaner which made it hard to keep the rug and floors clean. The furniture overall just needed a spruce up, otherwise the pool was great!
