Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margie (9/5): Great stay! - Comfort & amenity, everything we needed for a few days stay - would also suit lengthy stays.
Location in the town & close to the beach, good options for eating if needed. Nil
- Maia (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): Great Unit with a well maintained pool & good car parks, right in the heart of lovely Mission Beach. - Very central - walking distance to multiple restaurants, the beach & markets. Plenty of parking - off street & secure. Lovely spacious unit.
- Ross (8/5): Great location near a quiet village centre, but the master bed is not acceptable. - Location is great, beach is right out the back with no road or traffic between. Great hearing the sea all the time.
All the units in the complex were built for owner occupancy, so there is plenty of room and storage. A little study area outside the main bedroom complex provided a level 3 metre desk which was nice for positioning suitcases.
There was absolutely nothing lacking in cleaning solutions, dishwasher powder, washing machine powder etc etc
The full size side by side fridge was better than our fridge at home.
Using the cooktop was a pleasure. Usually in rented apartments cooking is hit or miss, so we usually don't do it, other than using the microwave. However here the frypans were excellent and pan fried steak turned out just as good as at home.
The Mission Beach shopping centre (such as it is) is just to the left at the end of the drive The living area goes out onto a large deck with steps going down to the sea. However, the sliding doors to the deck have a lock which is corroded with age, and cannot be locked from the outside. Locking the sliding doors can be done from the inside using a manual snib. This means going out the front door of the apartment. Doing this, the direct route to the beach would be through a swimming pool type gate with an electronic keypad lock. There was no information given to us or available in the apartment as to what the code for the keypad is. Therefore access to the beach is only obtainable through walking out the road side of the complex and around the side along the public access path to the beach.
There is no wifi that comes with the apartment, so internet access is up to yourself. Vodafone has no signal at all in the apartment, and only catches 0-1 bar on the beach. Telstra does not get a signal in the living area or main bedroom, but does pick up a signal at the 3rd bedroom window. We accessed the internet by turning on the Telstra phone hotspot and leaving it on the windowsill of the 3rd bedroom. In the days of a fully rolled out NBN this is not good enough.
Finally (and most importantly), the King bed in the main bedroom is formed by pushing together two single beds with soft mattresses. After 2 nights on this bed I found my back was very sore and I was hobbling. The 3rd and last night I found some relief (ie no further deterioration) by placing a pillow under my waist when in bed. Unfortunately the bed would be a deal breaker in being able to recommend the property. I'd note that one night in a good bed at the next destination fixed the back soreness.
- Juliet (7/5): Great location & suitable for families - Great location. Right on the beach & very short walk to the cafes/bars.
Large space suitable for a family. Faulty light switch into main bathroom. Blunt knives & basic kitchen supplies.
Pool area requires no glass however there were no plastic cup available.
- Thomas (7/5): Nice apartment which needs a bit of work done - The view and the location is perfect This place ist definitely in need of maintenance (fly screens, aircons etc.)
- Colum (9/5): Excellent, will go back again - Location was fabulous The cooking utensils were a bit dodge, wish that pets were allowed
- Liz (9/5): Fabulous - Location location
- Sandra (8/5): Location, location, location! - Location and size of the property A little maintenance needed. Old fry pan not really usable, dishwasher racks hard to get in and out when dishwasher loaded. Fly screen to main bedroom not attached.
- Karen (9/5): great place to relax, on the beach, clean, everything you need and simple fantastic way to have a relaxing weekend - fantastic location
