Guest Reviews
- Assem (10/5): -
- Kerry (8/5): Enjoyable. Great views. Comfy bed. Very nice thank you. - We didn’t have breakfast Just a few suggestions.
It would be great if you could have provided a little starter pack for tired travellers.
A few t bags, some long life milk, sugar and a few pods for the coffee machine.
We did love the stay but we had to go back into town after a very long day to get some essentials
- Gillam (9/5): Perfect views and cozy rooms - The views were stunning and it was the perfect amount of space for two people. The staff were very responsive and eager to help with any enquirers we had.
- Pia (8/5): -
- adriana (10/5): Excelente alojamiento y vista.

- CHERYL (10/5): Perfect place to enjoy Lauterbrunnen and surrounds! - Absolutely brilliant property in every regard: cosy, clean, attention to detail, great communication, heating, hot water, great bed, real fireplace, plenty of room for 2!! Nothing!
- Johanna (9/5): Special stay in Lauterbrunnen, one of our favourite villages in Switzerland. - This unit was located on the outskirts of town with a beautiful view over the falls and the mountains.
The unit was spacious with ample hanging space for washing, a good-sized bathroom and shower. The kitchen was well equipped with a microwave and a toaster. Comfortable lounge area. Quiet area.
Beautiful hiking trails all around with exceptional views all around.
There is a small Coop in town for basic needs. The bedroom was small with flat pillows - problem in all accommodation in Switzerland. The duvet was too warm for the season and as no flat sheets are provided, this made sleeping a bit warm.
- Lavinia (10/5): Very nice stay - Had a very nice stay and cozy house.
Quiet location with a very beautiful outside view! We would have liked to view netflix or youtube on the tv.
Almost every channel was in German with no subtitles.
We still had a nice stay of course, this is just a personal preference.
Alles in allem prima.
Dankeschön. Sogar das Wetter war bestens.

- Sue (9/5): Peaceful - Stunning, peaceful location. Nothing we didn’t like but what is bring next time…
Coffee pods for the coffee machine and a HDMI TV cable. We could have borrowed one from the Renters but their office was in Grindlewald and we weren’t going there.
- Bryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dilleeswara (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kristian (9/5): Unforgettable. - Brilliant location, i merely pulled the curtain and i was met with a instagramist photo view. Ten minutes from the train station, local Co-Op the other side of said train station. The only chink in the armour of chalet Rybibach, is the walk up the hill, but you have to blame mother nature for that one.
- Khaled (5/5): Passable -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): We had a fabulous time in this chalet. Highly recommend it. - Beautiful. Practical. Very well equipped and great location. Nothing.
- Cynthia (8/5): Perfect stay! - Loved the location, it was quiet, away from town but still convenient! Nicely furnished and stocked! It was perfect!
- Cory (10/5): Exceptional - Location was phenomenal!
- Josh (9/5): Excellent stay. Lauterbrunnen is beautiful, will be recommending to anyone who wishes to visit. - Very clean and cosy. The wood oven was excellent on throughout the cold nights! If on foot, The huge hill you need to walk up to get to the apartment.
- Leanne (10/5): A wonderful, comfortable and peaceful stay in the dream location! - Perfect location to get to train station, main town and on walks. Beautiful views from every window. Quiet and peaceful. Comfortable inside with almost everything you could need.
Impeccably clean and well prepared for our arrival. Not having a proper oven made it a little trickier to cook.
A steep walk up to the property
- Miranda (8/5): A pretty good place - Great view. Cozy cottage. Bed and pillows not comfortable unfortunately, but this is an easy fix! No AC but if the weather is great outside and you’re ok with sleeping with the windows open and bugs flying in, it’s also an easy fix.
Very close to nearby chalets so it doesn’t feel so private
- Teresita (10/5): We had an unforgettable stay at Chalet Rybibach with stunning views of the valley! - Diane L. deserves a special mention for an excellent job for making us feel welcome at Chalet Rybibach. She promptly replied to our queries and even returned our overseas calls from Australia, displaying a friendly and nice demeanor. We appreciate the early check-in, which was extremely helpful after our exhausting journey from Geneva.
The chalet's proximity to the train station, Coop, and peaceful surroundings made for a convenient stay. We felt at home thanks to the provision of slippers, various pan sizes, comfortable bed, and an ample supply of towels.
The breathtaking view of the valley from the lounge, dining area, and bedroom is the best feature of the chalet.
Choose Chalet Rybibach for an unforgettable stay. There’s no provision of washing machine and dryer.
- Rahul (10/5): A must-stay in Lauterbrunnen! - Very good location and great host! It was great!
- Angela (8/5): Beautiful apartment in Lauterbrunnen - Beautiful apartment just outside the center of the village. Beautiful hiking trails nearby, a supermarket a few minutes away by foot or by car. Would definitely go again!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - The property had plenty of space and has an amazing view of Lauterbrunnen. The property owner responded quickly to any questions we had. Google Maps doesn’t show the 10 minute route to the property so it took a minute to find the correct route. Also, the hill is challenging to walk up to the property, but worth it for the views in our opinion.
- Irina (10/5): Exceptional - Problems with WI-FI
- Méri (10/5): Like a dream! - Small details, from where to buy groceries, the coffee machine was amazing, the property managers and very good with communication.
The area is quiet and the view is amazing The general information could be updated or specific to the property, it seemed like generic information was made available that explains the property general and check-out rules etc, which can be confusing.
The property manager did however help (and very quickly) when I asked about the check-out rules
- Haddad (10/5): Perfect blend of tranquility, natural beauty, and Swiss hospitality ! - I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming chalet nestled in the heart of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, and the experience was nothing short of magical.
From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and the picturesque Lauterbrunnen Valley left us in awe. The chalet itself was a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The cozy interiors, adorned with traditional Swiss decor, provided a warm and inviting atmosphere after a day of exploring the stunning landscapes.
The attention to detail in the chalet's design was evident, with every amenity thoughtfully chosen to enhance our stay. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our meals, adding a touch of homeliness to our Alpine adventure. The bedrooms were not only comfortable but also boasted panoramic views that made waking up each morning a joy.
Overall, our stay was a perfect blend of tranquility, natural beauty, and Swiss hospitality. I highly recommend this enchanting retreat to anyone seeking an unforgettable holiday experience in one of the most picturesque corners of the world. We left with hearts full of memories and a deep appreciation for the unparalleled beauty of Switzerland's Lauterbrunnen Valley.
- Williams (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Great place to stay in a most beautiful part of the world. - it was very comfortable, roomy and well equiped The key safe lock was hard to use. We arrived after dark and had trouble using the key safe and even though we had the correct code we had trouble opening it. Our neighbours Matt and Milka helped us open the key safe and we did get in.
- Christy (9/5): Wonderful location, comfortable stay, perfect home base - The location was great for us, out of the hustle and bustle, views of the mountains and waterfalls, quiet but not too far to get to town. We took a train and then walked with our luggage, it is quite a trek with luggage up a steep hill but I'd do it again. We loved having access to a kitchen and the apartment had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. A great location for the many adventures the valley has to offer. The only down side was the steep hill with luggage and that wasn't really that bad.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (10/5): Beautiful property in an outstanding location. The best accommodation we had on our holiday in France and Switzerland. W - Outstanding property. Beautiful location, very spacious and all facilities were excellent.
- Kateryna (10/5): The apartment exceeded my expectations! - Clean, cosy, good looking apartment with everything that you need, from kitchen utensils to additional blankets. The apartment located 15 minutes on foot from the center of village, which actually is a huge advantage because there’s not so many people around and area is very quiet. In addition to that, there’s astonishing mountain view from apartment. Already miss this place and will be happy to visit it again. ——
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valeria (8/5): Very good - Quite a nice apartment, clean and cosy, quite generous in size, with great views It’s quite a steep climb to the apartment from the town (which, on a positive note, will keep you fit) but it should have been mentioned in the description as it won’t be suitable for everyone. Also, it’s says it has a terrace which we could not see.
- Philip (9/5): Excellent. Loved staying away from the busy Main Street. - We really loved the place very much. The apartment was very comfortable and well appointed. The view was fantastic, the quiet location was just what we were looking for and the sound of water running down the stream across the road was very relaxing. Getting to the apartment by foot includes a walk up a steep paved road. The climb back up
the hill each night after dinner really walked off the meal. But the quiet location made the climb well worth it.
- Bianca (10/5): Comfy home away from home - The property is set back from town on the eastern side of the valley overlooking town which was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of tourist, albeit up a steep hill. The apartment had everything you need to self cater. Car parking was free and next to the property. Bed was comfy and they had lots of little extras like, slippers, coffee pods + machine. The bed only had one pillow per person and no spares. On our first day the wifi seemed to drop in and out but on Days 2+3 it was perfect.
- Jackson (9/5): Superb - beautiful location. Comfortable property an oven and a clothes washer would have made this property a 10
- Ann (7/5): Nice stay, nice place, room for improvement on the management's information. - The location is lovely, however there is a steep hike up to it so if you are on foot, like we were, it would NOT be suitable for people who are not fit or disabled. The amenities were very nice, although the kitchen is bare bones (no oven, no dishwashing soap or sponge, no instructions for the coffee machines... ) We did enjoy cooking there because we were so tired of eating out. There were NO spices or cooking supplies due to sanitation reasons. We did have everything we needed, however, and the space is very adequate and clean, and the WiFi and decor very nice. Several things come to mind. First of all getting there. We were on foot with our suitcases so I asked about taking a bus there. Well, don't take the bus because the quickest way to get to the apartment is across a bridge that you get to by walking out the back of the train station. This was never told to us and we walked twice as far as we needed to in order to get there. Plus, there is a very steep hill up to it which was a bit of a drag on foot with suitcases. I guess I would sum it up by having better instructions for folks on foot. Secondly, I think it would have been nice to have SOME salt/pepper/spices in the kitchen. We had to buy everything we needed from the one store in town and then throw it all out after the four nights we were there. Seems like a huge waste. Thirdly, the instructions were very poor on how to get the key to get in. Basically they were wrong. The notes gave us a code for opening a key box in a "shelter behind the house." There was a shed behind the house and the code worked for the lock on it but that is NOT where the keys were. We had to call their office because we were so confused. The key box is NOT behind the house, it was on a wall at the back of the carport at the FRONT of the house. That part was very confusing. Lastly, we were expected to get rid of the recycle and trash when we left. Again, remember we are on foot. The instructions for where to get rid of them were blurry... at some school. Well, there is a real school below the apartment but they only have trash bins for the school... but we put the trash in those. As far as recycle, the location pictured in the apartment manual was of some "Schulhaus" (is that the school house they were referring to, not sure, but it is a road name). It was difficult to find and there were no trash bins only recycle and only for glass (the apartment had bins for glass, metal, and plastic).
