Guest Reviews
- Louisa (9/5): On the whole a really lovely short stay to watch the Tour de France. - Very spacious and well-equipped apartment; nice location at the end of block 9, right next to the river; beautiful valley; lovely views from the terrace of the mountains and up to Val D’Illiez; the use of Multipasses which allowed us to travel on the local trains, use the outdoors pool in Champery and the lift system for walking; the manager of the apartments and the restaurant manager were both very friendly and helpful (if somewhat disorganised) There was a frequent smell of sewage outside the apartment (which came inside if we had the doors or windows open); I was also worried our girls might accidentally drop things through the large metal grill set into the ground immediately next to the terrace. In spite of chasing several times during the preceding days we received no confirmation of where exactly we were staying or how to access the apartment until the morning of our arrival when we had already left the UK, which was unnerving. Although the food at the associated restaurant was good and the staff were lovely, both times we ordered pizzas for delivery to us they failed to arrive and both times I had to walk up to find them an hour after they were due, also the service was very poor the evening we ate at the restaurant, with only part of our food order arriving (our girls had finished before ours arrived). We had to chase it up twice and our wine finally arrived after our food (with many apologies and it was also taken off our bill, along with one of our pizza orders, which we were grateful for).
It is also a shame that the spa permanently shut down back in 2019 - the drained outdoor pool complex and empty hotel give a slightly derelict feel to the whole development which is a real shame as it is actually a really lovely spot. It would be better if the photos of the spa were removed from the apartment listings online as it doesn’t seem that there’s much hope of a new spa owner in the foreseeable future.
