Hele aardige gastheer. Helemaal niks!
- Szymon (10/5): Comfortable appartment with good car communication to the main Zillertal resorts - The appartment was big enough for 2 or 3 people (we booked for 3 but only 2 came). The kitchen was well equipped - microwave oven (by default stowed away but we took it out), ceramic hob (I haven't tried it but I assume it was functional), oven (indispensible for preparing some pre-baked rolls over Christmas when shops are closed!), a coffee machine with filters, dishwasher and enough dishes, cutlery and other utensils.
The location is very close to the main valley road although the village streets are steep and narrow, fitting one car only so you need to wait in a wider place to let the vehicles travelling in the opposite direction pass. These streets were cleared perfectly during snowfalls which definitely helped to prevent some snowchains armageddon. It is around 15 minute drive to Zillertal Arena, 20 minutes to Horgbergbahn and just a few minutes to Hochzillertal and probably the same to Spieljoch (we never go there, though :-) ).
There is a Hoffer supermarket very close to the appartment.
The host was very nice although we never met and only spoke on Whatsapp :) There were no night stands by the beds where you could put your mobile phone or a cup of coffee - not a huge deal but that's the usual bedroom setup I'm used to. I also killed quite a few silverfish in the mornings in the kitchen, so maybe spraying some Raid every now and then could cull their population. They are considered harmless but look disgusting nonetheless :-)
You can have a bit of a hard time getting to the appartment on a Saturday - every Saturday the locals mark all the entrance streets as blocked (to prevent smart@sses from using them to avoid traffic on the main valley road which is fair as long as you're aware of that) and Google navigation gets very confused - the place seems pretty much unreachable. When we were leaving next Saturday 7:30 am there was already a guy guarding the entrance to the village - I'm sure he'll let you through if you show them your reservation but a week earlier we were not aware how this works and got there by some roundabout route via Stumm (which was mark closed too). I've been to Zillertal several times before but never lived in a place behind such a barricade. Hopefully my comment can help others getting there - try navigating to the Hoffer supermarket nearby and then drive the last mile ignoring the roads marked as closed.
- Petr (8/5): Very good -
- Nickchoo (10/5): Recommended for family holiday - We stayed at apartments Günter for family holiday for a week. Our room was located on ground floor of modern house, which has direct access to the balcony. It is warm, clean and quiet room, and was as described in booking.com. Günter is very friendly and supportive. He answered my questions in reasonable time, and solved our issue. Balcony shows perfect view to east side without any blocking house in front. Ski-dry-hanger had enough space to share with other guests in another floor. During warm season, it could be really considerable to have some time at terrace. Also Almdiele restaurant is nearby with only a couple of min by foot. BBQ buffet is totally recommended (reservation in advance needed)
