• Stephen (10/5): Excellent terrace with spectacular views and kind and knowledgeable host - Great location and with a view of Monteverdi. The terrace is very nice and with lots of room. The host Pablo is very helpful and he gave us a night tour of the wildlife which I highly recommend. There is also a fantastic soda/ traditional restaurant up the street.

So friendly and helpful guiding us to great experiences in the nice town and even booked and arranged tours for us. Only good words about him. The location was great and close to the town of Santa Elena.

• Carolyn (10/5): Loved every minute and would book here again - The house was built into the side of the hill and the studio unit with 3 beds and a kitchen was on the 2nd floor above the family's home with large picture windows. This location in town offered a stunning view and the morning sunrise was spectacular. Digma was an exceptional host. Nothing really. We didn't need 3 beds and would have liked a couple of comfy chairs instead but others would appreciate the extra bed. The balcony was a great place to sit so there are options.

• Be (5/5): Honest review... - Great location, beautiful view, and comfy beds, but... Consider the below points before staying here. Point 1. Dangerous and threatening dogs (3 of them) barking at all times of the day and night making it very hard to sleep (no warning of this prior to arrival or in the description). Dogs were not tied up, and ran at us a few times which was very scary. Not what you want from accommodation that you're paying for. Point 2. Very close to busy road with motorbikes speeding by and revving loudly at all times of the day and night (again, making it very hard to sleep). Point 3. Insects everywhere including an ant infestation around the beds and kitchen. A nightmare trying to clear them about before going to sleep. Point 4. White electric stove gave us a minor electric shock (needs to be removed of as soon as possible, dangerous and scary), but we switched to the black one and it worked fine. Point 5. Very basic accomodation, and yes, we know it's budget, but the listing's photos showed a desk lamp that was not present at the accommodation and a fan would be extremely helpful in the heat of the day and night (avoids having the windows open and attracting insects). We would not stay here again, but if you choose to, we wanted to share our honest feedback about it. If the host can rectify the above points (minus the road noise, we understand that's outside of their control), it would be a much better stay. Thank you for reading our review.
• Thierry (9/5): Perfect location Balcony room, free parking, and friendly hosts - Perfect location near town center Hosts are very friendly We have joined Pablo for the night walk and it was great. Great view Everything is fine, can't really say anything bad. You get what you pay for, which is not a lot. Great value. The apartment needs maybe a little bit of love.

• Mico (8/5): Great value in Monteverde - Excelente convenient location with an amazing view of the town. accommodations are basic, but sufficient. We will stay there again when we return. Pablo was very friendly and helpful. A little noisy, but that's common everywhere in Monteverde. The room could use a fan for the daytime, but everything else was good.

The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning and Pablo and his family were lovely and really helpful. We had the best sleep here!!! We liked everything!!!

• Boris (8/5): Good value and authentic stay in central Santa Elena. - Great hosts - very friendly and accommodating. You're renting one big room with 3 comfortable beds and kitchenette. Central location. Very authentic feel, especially if you get to know the owners (we practically don't speak Spanish, but still were able to find way to chat a bit). One night was a bit hard to sleep because of the barking dogs in the neighborhood.
