Guest Reviews
- Welington (1/5): Awful - Non refundable booking, I had to leave before my check out day for person issues spoke to the manager; no consideration at all. I called booking.com they tried to help me out with refund and again the manager/owner sent an email refusing refund very rude, unreliable and unprofessional way.
I do not recommend this place to anyone to stay there as you can check that the review is bad.
- Denis (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very comfortable facilities Nothing, worked perfectly for us.
- Neil (1/5): Studio apartment I think not a room above the garage which is not a studio apartment. - Left after 1 night stay 😑 That the description of the studio apartment is incorrect and misleading.. It is the garage attic or storeroom that has been converted into a room it has no kitchen no running water upstairs no internet access for my laptop for my work No kitchen..The shower and toilet are downstairs and the only water source to clean Ur dishes or fill the kettle for a cup of coffee is the wash basin which is next to the toilet and shower..the air conditioner remote had a flat battery I had to get batteries for it when I got the remote working the actual refrigerated condenser unit
did not cool it only worked on fan mode which was useless being upstairs which retains the heat from the roof. I stayed 1 night and had to seek better accommodation. No refund of any kind I had raised my concerns about the room I had paid for a week and no apology from host.
- Rae (1/5): Bad - I forgot to add in first review that l left a day early with no refund at a cost of $215 per night, l moved to an excellent motel in the centre of the city with a balcony & park views and included breakfast !! A vast improvement
- Salli (5/5): Unsafe room - Close to town and a lovely area.
Great communication with Trisha.
Great enclosed area for my dogs. The room was a loft above the garage. No fire escape, or hydrant. Nothing like the picture. Steep stairs, old bed with old miss matched and ill fitted sheets. No running water upstairs, making it impossible to do the dishes in the small toilet basin. (That was requested in the rules)
No door between car and upstairs.
The automatic light turns on at the bottom step and then doesn't turn off for ages.
- Denise (10/5): Was a very comfortable stay - breakfast not included
- Bob (7/5): Ideal for younger people than us - Unfortunately for us as elderly people 80+ I did not check properly in regard to stairs, kitcen facilities and this made going up and down very difficult. Ideal for more robust people than us! Wonderfully located to CBD and shopping and dog park.
Tricia was exceptional in keeping us informed. Would recommend to younger friends! See above
- Ronel (10/5): Tricia went out of her way to help me. Very friendly as wel - Exactly as advertised. Tricia was very helpful. Nice place nice host
- Roto (7/5): Good - Location Nothing
- Tony (9/5): Superb -
- Kellie (6/5): Pleasant - The bed was comfy and the TV a good size The bathroom was down stairs and there is no running water up stairs.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bridie (4/5): Disappointing. - It was close to town by ut the area itself isn't attractive. Sort of semi industrial. Old uncomfortable furniture, some not fit for purpose. $400 bond into a personal bank account. This is a room above a garage in a laneway, not an apartment. The bathroom is not accessed from the room. It is down some dark stairs in the garage. There are no taps in the room. No bathmat, hand towel or hair dryer. Whole place was very spartan and cheap.
- Frank (1/5): The reality fell far short of the hype - The location is the key criteria why anyone would consider staying in this place. We were very disappointed with this accommodation. Like another reviewer, we'd missed the fine print in the application process. On the outskirts of Broken Hill, we received a text message to "remind" us we had to pay a $400 bond. We duly did that. We arrived around 6.15 pm. The host didn't meet us, but texted some entry instructions.
Hyped as a studio, the accommodation is a garage loft at the top of a steep set of stairs with a confusing, automatic lighting protocol. Heading down, the lights would not come on until we'd reached the garage floor. The (downstairs) washroom had a broken shower nozzle and no floor mat or hand towels. But also, the tiny hand basin- adjacent to the toilet- is your only source of water. So if you want a cuppa, you have to tramp downstairs and then use a mug or some such to fill the jug which doesn't fit under the tap in the tiny hand basin (and remember its a toilet hand basin, not a kitchen sink).
Once you've managed to fill the jug, you then have to boil it on the floor upstairs because the power cord is too short. Bed linen old and tired and the pillows flat. No top sheet on the bed and the lightweight, unfitted "doona" was useless. I had to get up and managed to find a spare around 3am. We'd tried the aircon, but that was impractical. It's noisy and is positioned in a manner that blows right into your eyes as you try to sleep. And my wife and I repeatedly bumped our heads on the bizarre ceiling that slopes down in the living space. Furniture and fittings all pretty tired, including a battered old red cedar bureau with a sagging lid that only just manages to hold its load of second rate condiments. From the noisy death rattles of the garage roller door right through to its upper ceiling, this place fails. It certainly didn't support our host's repeated entreaties to "enjoy".
- Melissa (6/5): First time in Adl - The location was great and a parking spot The pictures and add indicated much more space that what was available. We arrived and left as it wasn't what we thought it would be. The lady was lovely and did refund us our bond upon request. However a non refundable payment meant we lost $500.
- Linda (1/5): Worse than camping! - location was close to Botanical gardens This unit was like a trap with a $400 bond paid direct to account the day before, and an assortment of precarious fragile items in the unit ( propped up glass mirror, glass ornaments on wobbly furniture) made us worried the whole stay that something would get damaged and cost us the bond.
Shower/toilet/basin was in garage below the room with steeps stairs with auto sensing lights. This meant getting up at night triggered very bright lights that stayed on for some time- making sleep difficult.
No plumbing in room restricted any tea/coffee as water needed to be brought upstairs, and also washing up could only happen in the garage basin.
Sheets and towels were worn out and only 2 small bath towels provided (no hand towel or bathmat). Usual motel items of tea/coffee, soap were clearly a random assortment of samples the owner didn't want.
- Simon (1/5): DISGUSTING MISLEADING SERVICE - Location. But don't stay here. The owner wanted a $400 'damage bond.' The property is falsely listed as pet friendly but just as we were entering Adelaide we received a text that "no pets are allowed upstairs."
Result? Our lab slept in our car.
Disgusting.
Then I wanted a cup of milk for my son but the request was unanswered.
We left and OF COURSE the owner took $31 of our money for "cleaning" 2 plates, 3 coffee cups and one butter knife.
DO NOT STAY HERE. IT WAS annoying there was no water upstairs. And no night light.
And I left a charger (my work one) which has not been returned.
STAY AWAY FROM HERE. THE WORST SERVICE AND A LIE ABOUT PET FRIENDLY.
WE WILL BE COMPLAINING TO BOOKING.COM
- Navo (9/5): Superb -
