Guest Reviews
- Narelle (8/5): A little piece of paradise - Loved the tranquility of the surroundings and the no contact check in. Perfect for a quiet get away from the city.
- Sasha (9/5): -
- Lloyd (10/5): Cute stay in a miners cottage - Beautiful little cottage. Hosts were responsive. Facilities lovely The cows in the neighbouring paddock wouldn’t play with me.
- Sophia (10/5): - Location, outlook, amenities and the old world charm
- Debbie (7/5): -
- Carmel (10/5): -
- Hanson (10/5): - The location was fabulous. It was a very authentic miner's cottage. Small but comfortable. There was no where comfortable to sit inside except 2 wooden kitchen chairs. No lounge chairs or couch.
- Carmel (10/5): I will be back absolutely sensational stay - Absolutely everything, beautiful view. The outdoor fire, the indoor fire place, the spa where do I stop..
- John (9/5): - Great location. Fenced area so very safe for dogs
- Melanie (10/5): Lovely place, great hosts. That’s why we come back again and again. Thank you for a lovely stay. - The quiet, it has everything you need. Surrounded by nature. The perfect antidote to a busy life. We just love everything about it.
- Birgit (7/5): Great night skies - It is a lovely cottage It was very cold and it would have been nice to have a fire set up
There is some confusion if rat bait is used or not. The additional information was very unclear which meant that we did not let the dog roam freely (even though there is a fenced area)
- Ken (10/5): Beautiful location, bath is lovely, amazing views. - Amazing location to get away from it all for peace and quiet.
- Phil (4/5): Disappointing -
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheridan (10/5): Heavenly retreat. - This is an experience. Not everywhere that says it's an experience is an experience. It is an isolated wooden cottage in the middle of the countryside. Everything has been provided for a romantic weekend away from it all. Absolutely loved it. Photos don't do justice - but that one of the night sky? It's undoctored. Personally, would have liked a tiny kitchenette - but that is nit-picking, there was a microwave and browning oven.
- Sheridan (10/5): I'd prefer to keep it a secret, but I want the owners to succeed. - I liked this place so much - I stayed here twice. Seriously. Two weekends in a row. The stars, the sky, the wheeling cockatiels, the kangaroos, the emus, the big sky - the crazy little dogs that came for a visit - the peace, the quiet. The break from the big smoke I just loved it. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - Words cannot describe how amazing this little cottage is, it was truely the perfect weekend away that we had been looking for! If you are after something that's isolated away from the daily drive of life, beautiful scenery and the feeling that time has stopped! Then this is a place for you!! The photos don't do the place justice! We meet with the owners at the end of our stay, both wonderful people, easy to contact and always responded asap with any questions that I had! Also having to get the chance to meet them was delightful Thank you again for letting us stay at this amazing place! I will be booking here again in the future!!! The fact that I had to leave and come back home!! Honestly nothing to complain about, it was everything plus more than I could expect!!!
- Nevin (10/5): beautiful escape from the city in the comfort of a country cottage - this beautiful little cottage was so lovely, right on a glorious hill overlooking endless fields. the house itself was very clean, and the use of the indoor fire was so lovely. The bathroom has a massive tub and the hot water was enough to take a lovely spa every night- perfect for cold winter nights. there’s a horse pen across the road with an emu and a few horses/sheep, which really added to the overall experience. the sunset is insanely beautiful, and the mornings reminded me of farms in Scotland, very atmospheric.
Patrick and Leilani were available for any questions and were so lovely to communicate with, which made us as an LGBTQ couple feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Mancuso Country Cottage, it’s a perfect escape from the buzz of the city in the comfort of the country. cannot express my gratitude enough for allowing us to relax in this beautiful space. not a problem to be found, this was an excellent place to stay.
just be aware that there isn’t much cell service in the country so if you need to be connected, best prepare with a hotspot [ours worked].
- Ken (9/5): We love staying at the cottage! The fire, the bath and that view!! So relaxing. We will be back. - That view! and everything you need. we felt so welcomed. The fire and bath are incredible.
- Peter (1/5): Don't stay here if you want your pet to live. - It was in a beautiful location. Advertised as pet friendly, but our dog ate rat poison that was left under the bed. Owner tried to tell us that they had no idea how that could have happened, didn't apologise, didn't ask if our dog was okay. Told us they never used rat poison. We had to drive back to the vet to have our dog induced to vomit, which cost us $400, then we had to stay at home that night because he wasn't well enough to travel.
When we arrived back to pick up our stuff and hopefully salvage a terrible holiday, we found more rat poison under the fridge, as well as mouse poo on the pillows of the bed. I could've caught diseases from the mouse poo, not to mention the rat poison.
We packed up and left for the second time, and only then was the owner very apologetic, offering to refund our booking. Didn't offer to reimburse us for our vet bill, not to mention the extra fuel costs from having to drive back and forth.
Apparently the owner is very embarrassed, which, I guess, is sort of good. I hope they'll actually do something about this whole fiasco to ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else.
The property is advertised as being pet friendly, but is in no way as advertised. Don't stay here if you value your pet's life.
Absolutely pathetic.
