Guest Reviews
- Deborah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nicola (8/5): Enjoyable farmstay in the beautiful Dandenongs, plenty of animals and opportunity for horse riding - We loved the rural location at a working equestrian centre, with friendly resident cats, dogs, cockatoo, donkeys and beautiful horses. Plenty to keep our children entertained. The accommodation in the 2 bedroom bunkhouse was simple but had everything our family of 5 needed, with plenty of beds, a living room, dining table, well equipped kitchen, board games. Restaurants and shops are a 10 min drive. It was a cold and wet winter weekend but there were slippers for the cold floors, and extra heaters. Bring layers! We enjoyed our horse ride, the hot tub and the fire pit (booked as extras). Staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. Nothing except the weather. The accommodation is in the midst of a working equestrian centre so it would not be ideal for those looking for luxury or isolation but it was great for our family.
- (angela) (10/5): Overall Amazing stay - Very comfortable bed and the room is clean, warm and cosy! We loved the animals and the staff! Maybe adding a door to the bathroom or a fan over the toilet
- Abhishek (9/5): Amazing stay surrounded by horses and nature. - Rooms were clean and the toilet bathroom were spotless. Good size room. Coffee machine, toaster, electric kettle and fridge available in the room.
Kitchen was next to the office which has gas stove and all the things provided.
Beautiful horses đ at the farm. You can walk upto to them and say hello. Saw a deer at night when heading back to the farm.
Staff was great and everyone was very helpful.
Location was good as well. Emerald , Cockatoo are only 15mins away for groceries. Warburton only 25mins away.
There is an amazing Italian restaurant just 10mins away in Avonsleigh which has alot of great Vegetarian and Vegan dishes as well.
All in all very happy with the stay. Will go there again. Everything thing at the farm was great. Just a bit more light from the car park to the room (only 40m distance) would be good as it gets really really dark at night.
- Tina (7/5): Satisfactory - No Air-conditioning
- Kir (9/5): Superb -
- Danny (10/5): Avoca Farm Stay - A Magical Farm Stay Experience
If you're looking for a serene escape that blends nature, animals, and unique experiences, this farm stay is a must-visit! Nestled amidst lush greenery, the property offers more than just a stayâitâs an opportunity to immerse yourself in farm life and connect with beautiful animals.
During our stay, we were greeted warmly by the hosts and their charming family of animals, including two friendly dogs, playful donkeys, majestic horses, cuddly cats, and even a talking bird that kept us entertained throughout. The setting was picturesque, with sprawling fields, fresh air, and the soothing sounds of nature all around.
The highlight of our trip was the hands-on horse riding lessons. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, the farm offers personalized instruction that makes it fun and engaging. Spending time with the horses, grooming them, and learning to ride was an unforgettable experience.
What made this stay even more special was the sense of community and simplicity. Playing with the dogs, or listening to the chatter of the talking bird added so much charm. It felt like stepping back in time, surrounded by the peace and beauty of rural life.
For those seeking relaxation, the farm provides plenty of spots to unwindâa swing under a tree, a hammock near the fields, or a cozy nook to enjoy the sunsets.
Staying on this farm is more than just a vacation; itâs an enriching experience that reminds us of the joys of nature and the value of simple living. Highly recommended for families, couples, or solo travellers looking to reconnect with the outdoors.
We canât wait to return and relive this unique farm life experience! Nothing.

- Lachlan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Warwick (7/5): Pleasent place to stay, although is different to what one might expect. - Nice quiet place in a different location. Staff were very friendly. I'm a bit old to be climbing up to a loft bed, but that didn't really bother me. Toilet seat could do with a replacement, as it doesn't lift
- Howard (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff and warm welcome. I chose the bunk bed which was very comfortable and I'm a big guy.
Quiet and attractive location. Perfect for what I needed (to recover from jet lag) N/a
- Jaimie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jozi (9/5): Cozy room in relaxed gorgeous country retreat with pretty scenery for walks - I loved the position of the room overlooking the property, north facing, sun filled room with the unexpected surprise, a rare front row view from the kitchen area overlooking the equestrian / horse training and exercise area. The beautiful scenery around the property, the horses in adjacent paddocks and stables including a friendly miniature donkey, I stumbled upon, out the back of the property on my final morning made me happy. Upon arrival found the resident dogs and resident cat very welcoming, calming and soothing. Toilet/bathroom access a short walk.
- Julian (8/5): . - . .
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome, Sebastian the cat kept me company. I struggled with the bunk bed a bit, better for younger travellers but beat any motel I have stayed in recently. Loved everything.
- Lisa (10/5): It was comfortable, cosy , friendly and scenic - I loved the location, facilities and feeling welcome. It was just what I wanted. There wasn't anything not to like
- Ellen (7/5): Pretty location and grounds, lovely staff and animals - Beautiful location, very lovely staff and all the animals on the farm were fantastic company. Beautiful grounds to walk around. Was nice being able to watch horses on the arena. Room was bright, perfect for studying. Kitchen understandably had an outdoor feeling to it being next to the arena, works well for a short stay but I found it uncomfortable to cook in for a 5 night stay
- Regina (10/5): Perfect place to 'horse around' - Loved my second stay at Avoca Park, even got to shadow one of the volunteers doing the rounds with the horses. Suc a quaint lovely place to escape. ill definitely be back again.
- Carmel (10/5): Peaceful and put a smile on my dial - Beautiful location away from all the hustle and bustle of the city - tranquil and calming,. relaxing and able to rejuvenate the body
- Irene (7/5): Good - It was just an overnight stay while we visited a friend. Lovely area but a 15 minute drive to get to a shop or get food. As an overnight stop it was a bit far away from services. If you had time to plan your trip and were staying for longer it was a nice area.
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerri (5/5): Passable - I thought the horses would be friendly, but they don't even come over to the fence.
- Georgie (10/5): A magical experience in a horse lovers paradise. -
- Tracey (9/5): Perfect place to escape from the city, while close enough to any services you could want. - The room was bright and cosy with space for relaxing and working. The setting was perfect for quiet contemplation, I enjoyed reading by the lake in the afternoon sunshine. All the animals were friendly and entertaining. A clean hand towel in the shared bathroom would have been nice.
- Nic (9/5): Very pleasant and charming interlude - Very cosy, lovely setting in a horse farm, quiet, relaxed. Lack of taxi did not mar our stay. Saved by the owners giving us a ride into town and back, for which we are very grateful. Rather more remote than we had been expecting. We wanted to go out for the evening but no taxis would come out to us. We did not want to go out for the evening on our motorbikes.
- Lia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): relaxed & friendly - great location
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (8/5): Peaceful location, perfect for exploring all the region has to offer. - Coming back for a return stay. Lovely, peaceful location. Great facilities - fully equipped kitchen, comfy lounge area, plenty of bedding and a sun filled deck to enjoy our morning coffee. We did find the bed uncomfortable.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Glynis (7/5): Good -
- Maryke (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location!
Lovely gardens, and enjoyed seeing the cats and horses, and the view. Heater didnât work, and bed was a bit too short.
- Anonymous (7/5): was good for a night, not sure if Iâd stay there longer given the connectivity issues with wifi and cell network. - great location, comfortable. no phone reception or wifi within the property, had to go outside to get both wifi and phone reception. I study and was unable to do any study which was a bit frustrating as I needed the wifi. It was raining on the night of our stay so prolonged periods outside wasnât an option.
- Mel (8/5): Beautiful location, lovely staff - The staff were kind and friendly, with a stunning location Unfortunately the power was out for a considerable amount of time (not properties fault), but did make stay challenging
- Philip (8/5): Very good -
- Victor (4/5): Disappointing - Not applicable As an 80 year old recovering from an ankle reconstruction the access to the high bunk bed, not mentioned, was nearly
impossible. I ended up sleeping in a chair for the majority of the night. Also having to go outside during the night was
not enjoyable.
Over rated
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good - Such a beautiful place. My daughters absolutely loved being surrounded by horses. The highlight being their private horse riding lesson.
