Guest Reviews
- Sharni (9/5): - Loved the tour around the farm, feeding the sheep, chatting with the hosts.
To come back after a long day at Cradle Mountain to a roaring fire was heaven.
The deck overlooking the valley at sunrise and sunset is so picturesque.
If you want a quiet getaway, this is the place.
Just 20 minutes to the quirky town of Deloraine with great pubs and arty shops. The bunk bed mattress wasn't very comfortable, but the cabin is set up for a couple with 2 kids, not 3 adults! As we were a party of three women, we knew we were sharing bunks. However, an upgrade on the mattresses would be wonderful.
- Becchara (10/5): -
- Lars (10/5): - Tastiest eggs I'd had in ages
- mitchell (10/5): Our time at Elvenhome was very enjoyable and Graham and Kathleen are great hosts. - The location is in a very quiet farming area and was central to most of the major towns in the north which made travelling quite easy. The hosts supplied numerous food items fresh from their farm and all the food was delicious. Graham and Kathleen were both friendly and easy to talk to. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. There was nothing I didn’t like about our stay
- Annette (10/5): Eleven home was clean, well equipped and welcoming. A lovely place to ret, relax and enjoy after a b - Elvenhome was clean quiet and very well equipped. Graham was an excellent host greeting us on arrival making us feel very welcome. The cabin had a beautiful outlook surrounded by bush, visited by birds during the day and wallabies at night.
So quiet at night with clear sky’s and spectacular bight stars. Elvenhome is a little further from town than expected but the tranquility made up for that.
- Joe (10/5): Relaxing, calming and comfortable. Will stay again ☺️ - Beautiful location. Comfortable accommodation. An all round relaxing and lovely place to stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The kids loved feeding the sheep and checking out all the fruit trees. Highly recommend this stay. Nothing.

- Kathryn (10/5): Amazing! Staying at Elvenhome was definitely one of our highlights of our trip. - Our stay at Elvenhome was amazing. Well equipped, comfortable, cosy and clean. We enjoyed the quiet and beautiful surroundings and it was so lovely to explore the property. Graham was so welcoming and it was great to have a chat! We are a family of 5 and they were very accommodating by making up an extra bed for us. The homemade jams were a lovely too. Would highly recommend if you want a quiet stop to recharge.

- Robert (6/5): Alright for a small family but a off track for most. - Okay for a few nights Property needs a little love from the owner. Bbq not cleaned for a long time, wood fire glass not cleaned for ages, tried to clean myself as nothing beats looking at a fire. Lots of little things like remote tv batteries need changing, no exhaust fan in toilet, toilet has bore water flush, light globes need updating, hot water takes forever etc.
- Angie (10/5): -
- Foy (10/5): Such a great way to finish our 2 week Tassie trip, wish we had more time to just chill here, but used it as a base to do - Beautiful surrounds and friendly staff, felt very homely.

- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place to relax Very small tv
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melinda (10/5): Absolutely adorable. Book it now! - Everything! It doesn’t disappoint in ANY way. We adored the place and the owners 🫶 Zero. Zilch. Nada.
- Eden (10/5): Relaxed easy vibe. Can't wait to stay again. - It was perfect and our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating.
The kids loved the animals.
Thanks so much for the lovely stay.
- Steven (9/5): Comfortable, relaxing and surrounded by the natural beauty of the region. - The location was beautiful and peaceful. The home was clean and welcoming, with home made jams, fresh farm eggs and berries provided during our stay. The property offers the opportunity to disconnect from electronic devices, although limited internet and a small tv is provided. While not a huge deal for us it would have been nice to be able to have better access to streaming services during downtime from our day trips.
- Roger (9/5): Serene, clean, isolated and comfortable with friendly staff. - The cabin overlooked fruit trees, the farm paddocks and the more distant forest and was screened from the main house. It was immensely peaceful. Despite its relatively remote location all facilities worked very smoothly including internet, water supply and power. The owners were friendly and helpful.
- Edwin (10/5): Exceptional - The location. The rustic feeling if the house.
- Chanel (10/5): It was a beautiful farm with great hosts. - Loved the ‘getaway’ feeling of the property. It was a beautiful area. If we were there longer I would’ve explored the farm more. Some people mightn’t enjoy not having great service. But for my husband and I it added to the secluded feeling we wanted.
- Penelope (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Lovely cabin on a farm - Lovely cabin in a beautiful location, the hosts were friendly and provided us with some tasty bits of food for our stay and spent time with us showing us their animals and bits about their farm. The cabin has no other heating besides the wood burner, so we had to keep this going through the freezing nights to keep our baby warm. There was some novelty to this, though we would have appreciated the presence of a carbon monoxide alarm!
- Wendy (10/5): A peaceful retreat - So peaceful, great location for a base to explore the region. Fresh eggs daily, Graham had the fire going for us each afternoon when we returned from exploring which was really welcoming.
- Allan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (10/5): Amazing we all loved it! 5 stars - Amazing!!
- Jodie (10/5): Best farmstay near Cradle Mountain..... Loved loved loved it all. - It was peaceful, beautiful, homely and just perfect. Not much we didn't like, we loved it all.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (9/5): Brilliant. We enjoyed coffee on the deck at sunrise. BBQs at dusk and a cosy supper by the fire. We walked the lane in t - Everything. The location, the hosts, the perfect Farmstay. Fresh milk, homemade preserves, fresh fruit and plenty of wood.
- Fabrice (10/5): Peaceful and resting stay at Graham and Kathleen’s - We loved everything and our kids too. Remote enough to feel away from civilization and close enough to all the necessary things and places to visit (Cradle Mountain Park, wildlife sanctuaries…). The orchards, the farm animals, the wonderful welcome from Graham and Kathleen. We just regret not spending more time on the farm.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Wanasai (9/5): The absolute best; lovely attentive hosts in an organic garden in peaceful countryside 😍 - Being in a property that was permaculture -principled and organic was absolutely special! The crispness of the apples and the free-range eggs were absolute treasures. We were able to walk around the neighbourhood and see some spectacular views, and warm and cosy in the evenings with a great fire in the woodheater. And of course, sitting on the verandah with a wine .. a great way to spend a couple of days catching up with family.
The Visitor’s Book was great to read, with testimonials from people around the world 😎 No complaints at all
- Beverley (8/5): Comfy Cabin, in beautiful bushland. - Generally well-equipped, very peaceful, beautiful surroundings, very friendly owners. A bit more isolated than expected. Would benefit from screens on the main doors as flies a problem; a reading lamp needed in the loungeroom.
- Marc (10/5): Amazing three night stay with Elvenhome. - Lovely property and hosts. Loved to unwind at the end of the day on the verandah and watch the animals. Amazing fresh milk, eggs, butter, bread and homemade jams stocked in the kitchen. Comfortable bed, great little house and beautiful views. So much exploring means so little time to enjoy the property.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Beautiful tranquil location, lovely friendly hosts.
- Travelyeti (10/5): Perfect farm stay, lovely hosts, charming cottage! You'll love your time there and will want more.. - Our family of four (kids 10 and 8) had a FANTASTIC time at Elvenhome Farm. We only stayed 2 nights but wanted to stay longer. (The cottage was booked or we would have adjusted our trip to stay longer.) Graham and Kathleen are lovely hosts and have created an amazing space for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is spacious, bright, clean, well-appointed, and cozy. (The bed was so comfortable!!) Their farm is lovey. Our kids picked veggies and fruit with Kathleen, and they helped feed the chickens and sheep as well.
They offer classes on the theme of sustainable living, so check their website as well. (I didn't do that before our visit but I wish I had.)
The rural location is a perfect, but do take note that you're about a 20 min drive from Deloraine, so stock up on groceries before you head out to the farm. Also note that you will be close to the Van Diemens Land creamery!! (So good!) We loved it all!
- Anugrah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Orawan (9/5): In this sweet little gem in the valley, we had fantastic stay. - Lovely and cosy cottage in peaceful surroundings. Very kind and helpful hosts and friendly garden animals. Superb breakfast with fresh milk and eggs and those yummy jams. 😋
- Demelza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elisa (9/5): Superb -
- Gillian (10/5): what a beautiful part of the world, we loved waking up and the only sound was the birds outside, we loved the wood heate - we felt at home when we walked in nothing
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judi (10/5): Beautiful farm stay, perfect for our little family to spend time together - The feeling of being welcome. Kathleen and Graham were so lovely. The cottage and surrounds were so pretty, especially the blossoms covered in bees and the dam filled with the song of frogs. There was nothing we didn’t like… absolutely nothing :)
- Ju-kai (10/5): all in all it was really pleasant - the setting and the peacefulness of the property. Graham and Kathleen are friendly couple of things needed to be repaired and maybe the butter and jam can be refilled
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely stay, with lots of beautiful extra little touches that made us feel welcome and privileged to stay here at this place.
- Xi (10/5): Amazing and authentic farm stay away from city life with generous hosts. - The farmhouse was way more spacious and comfortable than we expected, equipped with all the cooking facilities we needed and more. Fresh produce such as eggs, milk and jam were ready for us to prepare our breakfasts, and Graham was very kind to warm up the place for us before we arrived. Learning how to use the fireplace and feeding the farm animals were some of the highlights of our stay, only topped by the hospitality of Graham and Kathleen. Would definitely come back again!
- Tamara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Loulouhat (9/5): Superb - This was a delightful little place to stay, everything provided, including fresh farm eggs. Well appointed, beautiful location.
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Carmel (9/5): Superb - Quiet location away from the rat-race Not much at all
- Mingjie (9/5): Superb - The host are very kind and helpful. Peaceful environment. Clean and bright rooms. Nice decorations around the property.
The host provided local product trial and they're delicious.
Kids friendly place. The kids like the farm animals.
- Jamie (10/5): Amazing, highly recommended - The home was so cosy and I loved how peaceful the place was.
Graham was a great host and we loved the tour of the farm and how it worked. The kids loved feeding the animals.
- Michael (10/5): Elvenhome is a little piece of paradise. Super quiet and welcoming. - Eggs, bread, butter, cereal all provided. Really nice breakfast out on the balcony
- Peng (9/5): Superb - it is very clean and tidy. the bedsheet even look ironed.
the sheep’s are cute so does the chicken. the breakfast provision is very fresh. the owners are very warm, kind and hospitable.
- Jen (10/5): Wonderful! - The property is located in stunning countryside, the owner is really friendly, our look around the farm was informative (kids got to feed the animals), the accommodation was clean and comfortable. And the lovely little touches like home made jams were beautiful. We will be back!
We stayed here and did a day trip to Cradle Mountain. Deloraine is close enough for a nice pub dinner. And the ice cream factory!! The only thing….and it’s really minor…a couple of the towels were a bit musty. Likely stored while still damp. And it didn’t bother me…I’m just thinking hard for something they could improve.
- Jodie (10/5): Great stay off the beaten track. - Wonderful accommodation and friendly owners. Only gripe is pack of microwave. Everything else was splendid.
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Hao (10/5): We have had wonderful time there. - We like every thing there.
- Erin (9/5): Fabulous Farmstay - The location, friendly hosts and farm activities. No microwave
- Sarah (8/5): Quiet, cosy farmstay - Quiet farmstay, friendly and welcoming hosts, fantastic location.
We recommend the nearby arboretum for platypus spotting and a lovely wander. The Trowunna wildlife park is also fantastic, and very close by We were invaded by silverfish and scorpions. Which is absolutely to he expected at a farmstay, and not at all the fault of the hosts, but it was still alarming with a baby in the house.
We were also under the impression that there would be alternate heating to the wood fire - which, again, not exactly the fault of the hosts. Just a difficult thing to manage with a crawling baby.
- Andy (10/5): Very quiet & relaxing, in a cosy little cottage , our host was very informative with a good knowledge of the local a - The fire was already going when we arrived making the cottage so cosy & warm. We enjoyed the home made jam, milk, bread and butter supplied by Graham our host. The property is surrounded by beautiful views & bush walks were just wonderful. Beautiful place, lovely host, totally awesome!! We would highly recommend to anyone. Leaving
