Guest Reviews
- Kathy (9/5): - Loved the view from our private back patio, cattle and sheep! Having our own private hot tub was bonus. It is a very sweet place. Everything worked well. We enjoyed the private farm tour, and visits from Harry, the beautiful collie.
- Reid (8/5): -
- James (10/5): Cozy, relaxing, friendly! - Wonderful friendly hosts, great location. Waking up and relaxing on a farm is something special, especially when the cows come over to give you kisses in the morning. There is a slight odour from the farm septic toilet, but that's easily resolved by keeping the bathroom door closed.
- Legge (8/5): Excellent all round. Farm tour was great! -
- Agata (5/5): - Looks cute Bad sulpfur smell from water and smell from the septic tank. Shower wasn't clean.
- Tracy (7/5): - Beautiful quiet stay 😊
- Zerlina (4/5): Disappointed - Cottage was cute
It has a patio and fire table. There were dead bugs, flies and spider webs throughout the cottage.
Washing machine was broken - water was scalding hot no matter what temperature we turned it to.
We tried to contact the property owner via WhatsApp, phone call with no response we even walked over to the property owner's house on-site to ask for assistance with no answer even though we saw the side door was open and the lights turned on inside. We had to fill the washer by lugging cold water from the sink to the machine as we already put our clothes in there already and too late to take it all out. We had to stop the washer during the rinse cycle to fill it up with cold water again to finish the washing. We finally sent a message through the Booking.com app and received a response 2 days later.
Property offered creamer for coffee which was left on the counter not in the fridge.
Prior to booking, I had read the reviews which mentioned that the water smelled like Sulphur and there was a response to that review that there would be changes. Well, that was not fixed. I have been to destinations where water smelled sulphuric because it is in a geothermal area, but that smell in the water in the cottage is not sulphur. Smell in water is from organic decay matter not sulphur.
The fridge was not cold enough even though we turned it it up. The cream we bought for our coffee turned bad.
There were bird droppings on the patio furniture and were not cleaned up prior to our arrival nor were there any hoses nearby so we could hose them off. So we were not able to enjoy the patio.
- Mark (10/5): Absolutely amazing! Would stay there again. - The patio facing the cattle and sheep paddock, frog sounds at night, very idyllic and quiet place, close to everything. No dislikes…
- Boris (10/5): Great little cottage for two people with everything you need. Friendly dogs and a great farm tour. -
- Jessica (10/5): Best location for a real farm experience. Loved it and would absolutely stay here again! - Super location and relaxing atmosphere. I loved the sheep grazing right outside the window. The host was lovely and very accommodating. The goats milk was delicious! Would definitely stay again!
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - We had a nice quiet time at the farm which is what we wanted. Leslie and Sandy were great and of course all the dogs and farm animals were friendly, there is a slight smell from the water when u walk in first time but you dont even notice it within a few minutes. We would go back without a doubt.
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great for what I was doing. Loved seeing and hearing the animals; the donkey was adorable. Fresh eggs and milk in fridge; nice touch. Lovely farmhouse. Well equipped unit. Very friendly dogs! They were so nice. Very quiet. There was a lot of cobwebs; evident it hadn't been dusted thoroughly. Bathroom (shower stall) could have been cleaner; hair from previous user present. Perhaps a stand to put suitcase on?...in stead of putting luggage on the floor.
- Vanessa (9/5): Great family - Everything inside the cottage was so cute and very clean. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the space. Even without a “proper” kitchen we cooked great meals with the bbq, induction cook top, convection oven, and electric griddle. It was beyond what we expected and everything was new and worked so great! The fridge was cute and a good size and the hosts left goat milk and farm fresh eggs for us.
the pasture views with cows and sheep were very special. The animals were great and Lesley too us on a wonderful tour feeding all the animals in the morning. It’s a great experience for our family. The sulphuric odour from the well water could get bad after a shower. Once aired out it was fine.
- Karen (8/5): Everything you need is there for a very enjoyable satay - We were in Ladysmith for a wedding and it was 1 km from the venue. Waking up and seeing the animals entertained us for hours during coffee and breakfast . Leslie was amazing! Contacting them was super easy and response was very quick. Farm fresh eggs and goats milk awaited us upon arrival.
Unfortunately the coffee maker was broken when we arrived, but one quick call and Leslie had it replaced within minutes. Any issues will be dealt with quickly with in reason ❤️ Unfortunately and no fault of the owners, the sulphur smell was quite overpowering at times. Thankfully it was dealt with quickly and with in their ability to control it. It’s a well and septic system. They are having a cistern installed soon and that will help during the dry times for multiple people showering
- Kevin (10/5): Exactly as advertised, and a special experience! - The farm fresh eggs and goat milk were a nice touch. We loved knowing the names of the animals that were around us on the property- especially the dogs; Allen is such a good boy!!
- Mathijs (9/5): Superb - Great accommodation nice and clean, cutest interior we have seen.
- Colleen (9/5): Quiet and comfy. Very pleasant patio. - Quiet rural area. Enjoyed all the animals especially the small black calf who liked his head rubbed. Bed was comfy, AC was a blessing during the heat wave as was the steady breeze out on the patio. Kitchen was well set up for cooking.
- Amanda (9/5): Lovely, restful, comfy stay on the farm. - We loved the set up of the house. We really enjoyed spending time on the patio on the comfy furniture watching the sheep, and other animals. It was a very restful spot, very quiet. We adored the fresh eggs and goats milk that were in the fridge. The cottage had what it needed: hot plate, fridge, coffee maker, air fryer/microwave. The shower was really lovely, roomy and lots of hot water. We enjoyed the bed and bedding, very comfortable. There was a bit of a smell from the water (I think) that was a bit odd, and there was a little dust and such in the corners. I acknowledge that it can be hard to keep things really clean on a farm, though.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb - It was just pe4f3ct for me. I'd move in permanently, if I could I wish there was an outdoor bbq
- Jane (10/5): An absolutely LOVELY stay with great hosts!!!! - Enjoyed the eggs! The location was beautiful!! A nice rural setting - quiet, peaceful, picturesque, close to town, comfortable, quaint, nicely furnish, organized, and well stocked, and well labeled for customers ease. The water pressure could've been better. The step-downs could be clearly identified for the safety of the customer. Identify which faucet handle is hot/cold. How to operate the TV so no undue charges are created.
- Ross (8/5): Very good -
