Guest Reviews
- Sarah (8/5): We enjoyed staying here, great spot, tucked away from busy areas. Loved feeding the alpacas and Alfi the naughty sheep! - Great location, hidden in amongst the forest and away from busy roads. Loved being around the alpacas and sheep, great for bird watching too. Didn’t love the bathroom, dark and dated. TV didn’t work (I know it’s good to switch off from technology sometimes but we like watching a movie to relax).
- Julie (8/5): We enjoyed it very much - Although there were a few DVD there was no DVD player and no TV. Therefore a few games for entertainment would be good.
- matthias (10/5): -
- Mahesh (9/5): Best place to stay with family -
- Matteo (7/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): Great little farmstay! - The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was fantastic. The alpacas, sheep and all other wildlife were a highlight. Paddy was very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. Sheep poo, but that's what you get being on a working farm! But it was a delight to have the sheep roaming around, you never knew where they would pop up!
- Liesie (8/5): - Location was lovely and peaceful. Loved the wrap around verandah. Very clean and well equipped.
Thanks for the coffee plunger - a nice touch which one does not often get!
Close to beaches, wineries and restaurants. A table cloth and place mats would be a nice add on.
Please consider smaller and lighter mugs - the mugs are quite big and heavy and really hard to handle.
Doona Inner was way too hot for summer. Please consider a cotton blanket for use in summer.
- Whitehouse (9/5): We will return to this beautiful place. - The quiet and tranquil atmosphere, beautiful views, seeing the sheep and alpacas, large spacious rooms. The water pressure was not good so showering was not enjoyable. The book said there would be food to feed the alpacas on the bookshelf but there was none.
- Tess (9/5): -
- Bruce (10/5): This place is all you need and more - Everything Nothing
- Nikki (10/5): Delightful and relaxing. - Paddy, the host, was friendly and knowledgeable. The accommodation was spacious and let us unwind as needed. The beds were great and the quilts were very warm. The unlimited supply of dry wood for the fireplace was a delight and the ability to engage with sheep and alpacas was a huge bonus with kids. We were also pleased to find cooking oil, salt and pepper were already in the kitchen. Access to a washing machine and drying rack would have been the cherry on top.
- Arlanda (10/5): Met all expectations and the owners are delightful. - Location was perfect. Cosy, comfy beds, good linen, adequate kitchen, comfy sofas
- Miki (10/5): -
- Mansi Khanna (8/5): -
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Valencia (9/5): Superb -
- Hulya (1/5): Don't waste your money! - Nothing There was a disgusting dead corpse like stench coming from the master bedroom. .I tried to find what the smell was when I checked under the bed ( because it was coming from around the bed head area) I noticed there was like an air fresher pad thing which the owner obviously put there knowing there was a stench problem.
Mould/ black sludgy grime build up around kitchen sink/ bench... like it hadn't been scrubbed in years. It was coming off when I used my nails . DISGUSTING!
Very old outdated uncomfortable couches.
Like from the 60s era.
Very cold. They only put 3 logs of wood for a 2 night stay. We had to keep going to the shed and getting more and there was barely any there. That ran out too
- Brett (9/5): Superb -
- Suraj (9/5): Superb -
- Simpson (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very nice, comfy and spacious. Loved the country vibe getaway along with the option to feed some animals some of the sheep were very friendly managed to feed a few early morning before check out. Loved this place a beautiful slice of paradise will stay again.
- Colin (10/5): Very peaceful and relaxing. - It was very peaceful, and the other cottages were far enough away that any noise was minimal.
Plenty of birds around.
- Lalji (8/5): Very good -
- Boris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, close to everything but just far enough out of town to be peaceful among the trees
- Steven (9/5): Peaceful getaway amongst nature - Very friendly host with lots of great local knowledge and advice. Comfortable and roomy accommodation. Close to town, beaches and great walk trails. Highly recommended for families, friends and couples. Wouldn't change anything.
- Anita (10/5): Such a delightful place to visit and will definitely recommend it for families or couples. - The wood fire was great It kept the cottage toasty warm and was already on when we got there which was a lovely welcome
The sheep on the farm which we visited and hand fed every morning and arvo with the grand daughter
They were very tame and followed her to her delight
The ability to hike around the farm freely and see the running creeks and kangaroos and abundance of birds and large areas to check out
Nice big bathroom in our cottage. Property very clean. Kitchen well stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots n pans.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jarrad (8/5): Very good - Almost everything, friendly staff, beautiful place, central, clean and comfy. Some rainwater systems make it hard to enjoy a shower. The temperature fluctuates regularly and quite drastically, difficult to monitor with kids, one second it's cold, the next scolding.
- Yolanda (9/5): Superb - The location was a central point to see various locations, such as a drive to Albany.
The owners were very accommodating, and the cottages are fully equipped for one to enjoy a home away from home.. There was no WiFi. However, this can be viewed as a positive rather than a negative given the location.
Something to note, even without WiFi available, there was still great mobile connectivity, and hotspot could easily be used.
- Angelo (10/5): If it were possible I would come back every year - The place is quiet in the middle of nature, the silence is almost absolute apart from the bleating of sheep and the singing of birds. The rooms are spacious and bright, the kitchen with everything you need and spotless. I have to say the absolute cottage that we liked the most. Thank you Anna and Paddy, we won't forget you Nothing!!!
- Shane (9/5): Excellent for families wanting a perfect forest getaway - Location, facilities, wood fire stoked & ready on arrival Nil
- Kate (9/5): Enchanting home away from home among the gumtrees. - Little River Cottages are a hidden gem! Our hosts Paddy and Anna couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed getting outside to the farm to watch the sheep and alpacas roaming around. There were so many happy animals - Kangaroos, an abundance of birdlife and rabbits. It was really beautiful to be privy to the busy work of nature. The Lindesay cottage was more than enough space for our family of 5 and was very well appointed. All the furnishings and fittings (cutlery, crockery etc) were really good quality and condition - it made the stay very comfortable. I would highly recommend this farmstay! The only gripe is a minor one - the hot water took a long time to come on in the Master ensuite of the Lindesay Cottage. Eventually it would get going but it was a good few minutes and it puts us off enough for us to all just use the main bathroom for showers.
- Natasha (10/5): A perfect getaway spot - These cottages are beautiful! Set back off main road across a little stream ... total peace and quiet. Really comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen. We loved the treat of a real fire (chopped wood available in woodhouse). Check in & out super easy. We had a wonderful stay. Nothing we didn't like. Perhaps undercover parking by cottage would be handy in stormy weather or when it's very, very hot.
- Vineeth (8/5): We had a pleasant time there. The host was very friendly and extremely helpful. - We loved the cottage. It was very comfortable, clean and cosy. Enjoyed the fireplace as well. It was very pleasant to see sheep's walking in front of our cottage in the morning. Kids were very amused.
The host was amazing; very friendly and very helpful. Outside the cottage boundary, there were too many animal excretion which made it a little difficult to enjoy the beautiful walk around the property. And to see the alpacas and the cows, we would have to walk through the land of fences which made it unpleasant.
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tenzin (10/5): We would definitely come back to stay at this property and I would highly recommend it. - Love the location. Perfect gateway from bustling city. Everything was amazing
- Karki (10/5): Very pleasant and wonderful - Paddy the owner is soso helpful and friendly. Heating system in all rooms
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (10/5): Cute little cottage - Much nicer and cosier than expected. Love the wood fire and ambience of the whole place. Will love to stay there again when we go to Denmark next :) Pretty happy with everything. :)
- Indumathi (8/5): great family relaxing break - nature, animals
- Susannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Excellent family escape! - Beautiful cottage surrounded by farm animals. Kids loved the location. The cottage had everything you needed inside and everything was almost brand new. Very close to the city centre and to other main attractions. Everything was good!
- Natalie (9/5): the accomodation was amazing, well kept, very clean and extremely comfortable. - location, very comfortable beds, environment fantastic would of loved a washing machine, especially if we were staying longing. very unusual in a self contained housing to not have
- Mark (10/5): A brilliant holiday with our young children. The kids loved the sheep and other farm animals and the chalets were in a b -
- Elias (8/5): Very good - Relaxing! Loved feeding the alpacas!
Nice and clean.

- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clinton (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (9/5): Superb -
- Zeno (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachelle (10/5): A perfect place to stay and wake up to the sound of the birds and sheep. We loved it ! - Spotlessly clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, kitchen had all you needed. A lovely fire for the cool nights. Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Steffi (10/5): lovely property, very clean and cosy. - the fact that it was very private, cosy and that the sheeps were somewhat free-ranging. imagine washing the dishes with the view of sheeps grazing just outside! plus the 3 alpacas that we were welcmed to feed anytime with the food the owners provided. the only thing was that if you are not good with the fire at the fireplace, it can be freezing at night.
- Brannen (10/5): Exceptional - Location was wonderful, kids loved seeing the sheep and feeding the alpacas. So quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to town for easy access.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Steffi (10/5): perfect! - with the exception of the first night not being able to sustain the fireplace, everything else was great! The “free-ranging” sheep and alpacas were a lovely feature of the place. very private and good to get disconnected from the world. very clean place and well equipped kitchen. that there wasn’t a heater or radiator in the rooms. it can get very cold.
- Kevin (8/5): It was a very tranquil and peaceful stay with a friendly host. - Animals. The bush setting. Quiet. The shower was a little difficult to get the temperature right.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Tan (9/5): Great farmstay experience - Staff were very friendly, communicative and helpful. They made a difference to the stay. The experience with the farm animals, facilitated by the staff was great too. Good location that's not too far from everything. Overall a great farmstay experience! Lack of wifi and electric heaters for bedrooms, even though the wood stove in the living room was great and part of the experience.
- Fiona (10/5): We had a very happy time appreciating the charming cottage and stunning surroundings. - Very friendly hosts. Excellent location and facilities. A hairdryer was not expected but would have been appreciated. Access to washing machine for longer stay would have been useful.
- Rebecca (8/5): Winter getaway perfection! Can’t wait to rebook for Spring/summer and for longer! - This place was amazing! Exactly what I was after, a little slice of Denmark life. Great location and the running river crossing added a magical entrance to a beautiful farm. The only thing was that the shower hot water/cold water was tricky to regulate. This was a minor issue once you got use to only turning the cold tap around by a CM…. Even a millimeter too much would completely turn off the hot and leave it freezing. I honestly couldn’t fault anything else with with place though. The owners have created a perfect little cottage getaway!
