• Petra (9/5): Wir haben wunderbare Tage in der Wachau erlebt - Wir hatten einen rundum tollen Aufenthalt! Die Lage ist hervorragend, das Zimmer sehr groß, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und äußerst gepflegt. Besonders begeistert hat uns das liebevoll zubereitete Frühstück mit einer feinen Auswahl. Die Gastgeberin war unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und engagiert, sodass wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt haben. Auch die Parkmöglichkeit fürs Auto war ein großer Pluspunkt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! • Arielle (10/5): I had a fantastic, comfortable stay and I would definitely stay here again! - I traveled for leisure and it was absolutely wonderful. The owner was easy to contact, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was excellent, safe, and walking distance to Dürnstein historic sites. It was perfect! I did not have any issues at all. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous. I enjoyed their non alcoholic sparkling wine, a lovely addition to their breakfast. I can easily recommend this guesthouse for solo travelers and groups. I was immediately welcomed by the owner and felt right at home.

• Wendy (8/5): - Wachau is a very pretty area. Accessible by public transport. Bus from Melk to Dürnstein (krems) runs hourly and the scenery is stunning along Danube. Passing many very attractive villages well worth checking alternatives or using for day trips. Accommodation very close to bus stop and easy walk to supermarket and on to village. There is also a train station with limited trains just behind accommodation. Actual room was lovely. Tasteful. Firm but good bed. Large tv and sofa. View from ‘wunderbar’ out to village and up to castle with lots greenery in between. One side Facing south so sun streamed into room in afternoon Lovely to sit on patio area and more seating on ground level and parking Appreciated Theresa looking after me. Thankyou 3 Internal steps to room. No railings. Smokers on patio two mornings Very poorly equiped kitchen. Not even a cup, I had to ask. My reason for lower score though was noise. Reviews stated quiet. My room was on edge of narrow road with house and hotel on other side. Traffic was regular and very noisy. Closing window muted but sound still intruded. Poor internet. Kept disconnecting. Then used my global roaming till I realised to check if it was connected before using. Be aware,Supermarket very limited products, closes at 12.30 then access is via credit card and self service. Interesting experience…luckily someone was outside and explained. No alcohol available at this time

• Rami (9/5): שהייה מצויינת, האזור ירוק שקט ונעים, הנוף נהדר, הדנובה במרחק הליכה קצר וכך גם מרכז הכפר המקסים. - הדירה מצויה בקומה אחת מעל למפלס הקרקע ועולים אליה במספר מדרגות. היא כוללת מתחם מגורים (מתחם שינה + מטבחון+ שולחן בר וכיסאות בר, ספה ושולחן סלון קטן) וכן חלל מופרד שכולל מקלחת ושירותים- הם מופרדים לשני חללים נפרדים. הדירה בכללותה נקיה מאוד, במצב מצויין, המקלחת והשירותים במצב מעולה ונקיים מאוד, מגבות ומצעים נקיים מאוד ומריחים מצויין. המטבחון קטן ובסיסי ולא מיועד למי שמתכנן לבשל בישולים של ממש. במפלס של הדירה יש מרפסת גדולה שצופה אל נוף מקסים וכוללת כיסאות, שולחנות גן ושמשיות. ארוחת הבוקר מוגשת ב-"חדר אוכל", היא די בסיסית אבל מצויינת. יש שניים - שלושה סוגים של דגני בוקר וקורנפלקס, שניים שלושה מיצים טבעיים שנעשים במקום, ריבות נהדרות שמיוצרות במקום, כמה סוגי יוגורט, חמאה, מגש גבינות ומגש בשרים פרוסים. הקפה מוגש אל השולחן ע"י המארחת ואפשר גם לבקש ביצים - רכות או קשות. על השולחן יש כמה סוגים של לחמים שנאפים במאפייה מקומית. בסה"כ, הארוחה מידתית לא מוגזמת כפי שקורה בבתי מלון בארץ אבל היא נעימה ומספקת לחלוטין. בצמוד לדירה ישנו כרם מטופח של גפנים, גינה מקסימה וחניה בתוך המתחם. בעלי הבית הינם גם חקלאים שמגדלים גפנים ועושים יין ביקב שנמצא במקום ולכן אפשר גם לקנות יינות מייצור מקומי. בעלת הבית - תרזה, מקסימה, ידידותית ומאירת פנים וברור שחשוב לה שלאורחים תהייה שהייה טובה. המטבחון בסיסי ולא מתאים לבישולים משמעותיים אבל זאת לא בהכרח בעיה אם אין תכנון לבשל.
• ruth (10/5): מלון מקסים בתוך עיירה ציורית. נשמח לחזור בשנית. - המלון נמצא בעיירה DURNSTEIN על גדת נהר הדנובה . אחד המקומות היפים שהייתי בהם! המלון מקסים , מוקף בכרמים ונמצא כ 8 דקות הליכה מעיר העתיקה וטיילת על הנהר. בתוך המלון ישנו יקב משפחתי שבו ניתן לטעום וגם לרכוש יינות מאד איכותיים. מלון חדש לגמרי , החדר שקיבלנו היה מאד מרווח ומעוצב בסגנון מודרני . יש בו פינת מטבחון מאובזרת ופינת ישיבה . ארוחת בוקר נהדרת ועשירה. טרסה , בעלת המקום , קיבלה אותנו בחמימות ואדיבות רבה והייתה זמינה לאורך כל זמן שהותנו במלון. לבסוף הצטערנו שלא נשארנו יותר זמן במקום הזה . ואין לנו ספק שעוד נחזור לשם בעתיד. אין

The couch was extremely comfortable, and the bed—with its pretty pink floral blanket—was cozy and inviting. The garden was wonderful , with lovely chairs to relax in, and the breakfast was both delicious and plentiful. Most of all, we appreciated Teressa kindness and generosity. She explained the town so well and gave us fantastic recommendations for bakeries and restaurants. We had such a great time and truly hope we can visit again soon. ❤️❤️
• Evghenia (10/5): Perfect - We loved everything - how beautiful and clean the rooms are, the perfect garden, how quiet it is, how close to everything you might wanna do there (hiking, biking, drinking wine, eating or just doing nothing), the breakfast is all we can wish for plus the genuine smile Theresa has when taking care of every guest. Absolute gem! Nothing really.. maybe a tea bag or two in the room for an evening tea :)

• Tanya (9/5): Lovely little getaway spot - Extremely clean and very comfortable. Lovely owner. Good breakfast. I misunderstood from the write up that there were bikes at the property that we could use. (I have had this available with other guesthouses in the area.) It turns out you have to use the public bike share. There were never any bikes available nearby with the public bike share, and we had come specifically to cycle, so that could have worked out better. However, not directly an issue with the property. Overall a little pricey.

All interior was new . Nicely appointed bathroom. Magnificent views of vineyards and mountains. Quiet and very comfortable. Our host, Theresa was warm, friendly and very helpful. Can't thank her enough for a great stay. Our stay was perfect, we would have liked to stay longer.
• Cook (8/5): I would stay there again, but only in cooler months. - Loved the breakfast, the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room, host recommended restaurant/activities, location. I definitely would schedule a wine tasting in advance next time! The only problem was the air conditioning did not work during the night, and it was very hot. Opening the windows, as suggested by the host, did not help.

• Elizabeth (9/5): Wine tasting and stay on a vineyard with amazing views Durnstrein - Beautifully renovated rooms with en-suite and black out liners overlooking Dürnstein castle and the owner’s vineyards. Loved the wine tasting and tour of the cellar. Bought a few bottles. It was very hot the day we arrived and we were recommended a swim in the local lido next to the Danube - just what we needed. Brilliant breakfast outdoors next to the vineyards. Home made apricot juice, bread and jam. Yummy! 5 minute walk to the old town of Durnstein and to the old castle walk which is a must and great for children as signs all the way up.

• Jacky (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent stay! We had a very pleasant three-night stay--couldn't ask for better. The rooms are new and well thought out and designed. The location is an easy walk from the old town of Durnstein so you can get away from the busyness of the old town. If you're arriving by train, the station is right around the corner but the trains are quiet. Breakfast was excellent and prepared and served by Theresa, the owner. Theresa knows how to take care of guests. She answered any questions we had and made excellent recommendations for restaurants. We enjoyed everything!

• Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Bioweingut Schmidl is in a very peaceful location but also very close to downtown Durnstein. The rooms are very large, comfortable and clean. The host, Theresa, was very friendly and accommodating. You can sit on the terrace and enjoy the views of the vineyards and the castle - it's amazing. We also tasted their wine and it was excellent as well as their breakfast. We just wish we had stayed longer. Nothing.

We arrived little bit earlier before official check-in but it was no problem, the owner came in a few minutes, she was very nice to us. Our room was with a lovely view of the vineyards and the city. We really enjoyed the breakfast with local apricot juice and jam. We can warmly recommend this accommodation, it was very pleasant stay.
