Guest Reviews
- Jacki (5/5): Good value and much more pleasant than anything else you will get for the price these days. - The bed and the linen were very comfortable and the unit heating worked quickly to warm us up when we arrived on a cold evening. The bathroom is brand new and very clean and roomy. The double french doors had a great view! There was a bit of a lag in communication when the gas bottle for the hot water had run out, and then didnt start working properly once it had been changed over. That unfortunately delayed our opportunity to head out early sight seeing as we were waiting to have a shower. I thought, as a gesture of good will they could have left us a jar of their honey on our doorstep. We were offered an alternative place to shower, but we didn't want to walk to the next building to have a shower on a cold morning.
- Julie (10/5): If you are looking for a get-a-way, this cottage is idyllic. - Adorable cottage that overlooked a vege garden with views over the paddocks and dam. Sunshine filled the cottage in the morning through sunset and it was close to many of the attractions around Devonport.
- Davis (10/5): Marvellous - Absolutely impeccable! Stacey and Mick have done great job to make you feel comfortable and at home. Gorgeous gardens, animals, and fresh fruit and honey. Will recommend to everyone. Cheers, col davis

- Lee-Anne (10/5): A great place for us to recharge after our Tassie tour before back to reality. - Really comfortable. Carefully styled without being pretentious.
- anneke (7/5): - Nice little cottage with everything we needed Was hoping for more animals around the farm, but all there were were a few horses in the paddocks and walking paths around the farm, and cottage garden was overgrown .
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional place to stay - Fabulous setting, beautifully decorated and a super comfy bed. All the creature comforts you need.
- Renee (9/5): Dreamy home away from home. - It was a perfect home away from home and exactly what I was hoping for. I was travelling to Launceston most days but had business further NW so this location was perfect. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable, well heated when need be (some nights were cool), and well appointed. The bed was huge, and the bathroom was very roomy too, with lots of hanging spots, and a large vanity. The porch out the back literally transported me elsewhere again because the outlook over the garden was extended way beyond the property into distant fields and hills. Simply dreamy. On site, I enjoyed the garden walk, the row of cherry trees along the driveway, and the honey shop with many flavours I've never heard of or tried before. On clear nights, if you gave your eyes 15 mins to adjust to darkness, the Milky Way and stars were breathtaking. It is an excellent dark sky location. My hosts were very helpful and friendly. I was incredibly sad to leave. I guess some people may not like the ants (I'm not one of them) but when they did appear in a couple of places, they didn't 'spread', and were easily dealt with.
- Emma (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay Nothing
- Evelyn (10/5): Great location that suited our travel plans in the area - Private and cosy
- Jordan (8/5): - Always welcoming and nice place The room was a little dirty and a bit cold even with heater on
- Susanne (10/5): -
- Moncrieff (10/5): Very nice. I will stay again!! - Warm, welcoming, easy. All was good
- Catharina Stockmann (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Comfortable heritage property with excellent facilities. - Great in terms of facilities, character and location
- Jennie (9/5): A beautiful farm stay ,just out of Latrobe and 15 minutes from Devonport airport - lovely old farm house set in beautiful gardens, had enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our family . Host was accommodating and quick to response to any enquiries We had to purchase more toilet as there wasn't enough, and some pepper would have been good only salt available in the pantry. there was only 1 champagne glass for our party of 6 but overall, we were really happy with the accommodation
- john (8/5): -
- Sandy (1/5): Horrible left early - The bed Highway traffic noise, no sofa as advertised, farm walks very very short and grass needs mowing. Timber landing over dam rotting frightened would fall through. Owner/manager walked out in jocks to get wood. No private curtain in bathroom you could see through and only covers bottom half of window and staff could look through from shed next door. No milk. Need to take shoes off when going inside, floor freezing as tiles. Don’t spill water around sink, use drainer. Washing machine and dryer always full of clothes could not use. Owners waved but could not be bothered to walk the short distance to say hello. German shepherd and another dog jumped up on balcony while trying to eat breakfast.
- Matthew (8/5): A great farmstay. - Good country feel to the cottage. Kitchen sink too small and no drainage which left a mess on the countertop.
- Tracey (10/5): Was peaceful, host was lovely.turned the heat on for us before we arrived. on phone. - Quiet, king bed, electric blanket, loved the bathroom vanity. Nothing
- Anchit (10/5): - It was an amazing experience at Robin Hoods wells farms stay. Stacy and Micheal are amazing hosts and the location is absolutely stunning.
- L (8/5): Cute cottage - Comfortable little cottage. I live in a silent area, so I was aware of road noise in the evening and early morning. Most likely not an issue for someone who lives somewhere not so quiet.
- Sandra (10/5): We enjoyed our time here, greatly this beautiful quaint, little cottage, full of charm and a beautiful fire that just ad - From the moment that you walked in, it had a certain charm and appeal. The subtle smell of timber as you walked through the door was delightful..
The bidding was well dressed and plenty of layers to keep you warm with a hidden bonus of an electric blanket .
Parking at the front of the house was also easy, and the views from the Room were so charming , watching the horses from one window and watching the chickens from another.
The bathroom was roomy and comfortable with lovely hot hot water, which is an essential for the cold months of Tasmania .
The second bedroom was also just as comfortable with an extra pull out bed .
Thank you for our stay. We would totally stay here again or even try one of the other accommodations on the farm. There wasn’t anything that we didn’t really like. If there was anything maybe an extra umbrella for the wet days and not that this is a bad thing, but it would be great if you had the added option for a bottle of red and some cheese on entry! lol
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naomi (9/5): Highly recommend & would stay again! - Cottage was well appointed, clean & the bed was very comfortable. Our host had turned the heater on prior to arrival so it was lovely & warm when we arrived which was greatly appreciated.
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (5/5): Very, very cold. Heater not working oil filled small ones not much use. - No breakfast, 1 teaspoon of sugar in jar no more. No face washer. Sun shone well. Lovely looking out over field's Lovely horses walked over our verandah. Very quiet we being the only ones there. A lot.
- Darlene (8/5): Fantastic farm stay, would recommend for a visit. - Gorgeous little cottage, beautiful scenery, fantastic bird life, a great base for us to explore the region. We stayed 4 nights before moving on to our next Tassie destination & wished we just stayed here for the whole 9 days (perhaps in the larger cottage for that length of time though). Whilst it was a cottage, could have done with a couple of extra shelves or hooks to place things. Also surprised there was no complementary milk, even a small starter, we arrived middle night on public holiday, couldn’t get anything. There was tea & coffee but no milk. Not a deal breaker just a point for improvement.
- Wendy (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (9/5): 'a spell in the country' - Notwithstanding 'bookings.com' lousy app (we stayed two nights and wished it were longer), the main thing we liked was that the stay was almost totally 'unpackaged'. Beyond comfort and calm, nothing promised. Comfort and calm delivered!
The property offers a different experience - nothing 'plastic' in either presentation or sustance - just rural charm and the odd quirky touch - all in wonderfully picturesque surrounds.
The accom was delightful (Garden Studio). Quirky! Functional. Very comfortable!
Stacey and Michael are 'stay out of your way' hosts, if that's ok. Everything is 'in place'! We sort of 'waved, said hello', then just relaxed and enjoyed - the blue wrens especially (and chickens) in the veggie garden and the other garden areas beyond.
It is a working small farm .. and Michael and Stacey can be seen busy working (a bit of a guilt complex avail to guests doing a lot of very little?)
The farm stay is situated so that you could need a car for provisioning. Latrobe is the closest point (7km). We can recommend (with some awareness, but first time customers) the Sa-Wad-Dee Thai Food Van in Latrobe for qood quality/good quantity/good value take-away.
Hope this is of some value to you. Best wishes to Stacey and Michael.
Don, Linda. Leaving!
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (9/5): Wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate! - Sublime tranquil setting overlooking a beautiful rural setting. Thoughtful touches and vwry adeqfacilities. Very comfy bed! TV mounted high up made watching when bot in bed a little awkward. That's the onlt very minor thing I noticed.
- Lorette (8/5): Very good -
- Veronica (7/5): Good atmosphere but poor facilities. - It felt homely and farm like. The television was too small and didn’t work properly. The heater didn’t work well for the size of the room.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Really Really excellent - Highly recommend The weather but that wasn't their fault
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly hosts, comfortable, rustic setting and homestead, perfect for a large family travelling together. .
- Joanne (7/5): Good - the location was good for us, the bed was comfortable the heater didn't really warm up the room enough for us (we do live with a wood heater), the bathroom was cold due to the vent at the top of the window and while the shower looked amazing, due to the actual size and open shower it was actually freezing if you stepped out from under the water.
- Kah (9/5): Good farmstay and near to attractions in the north of Tasmania - Good location just off the highway and easy access to attractions around the north Tasmania region and devonport for amenities. It’s Quiet even though just next to the highway. Nothing much except entrance is bit hard to spot during the night

Wonderful accommodation we have stayed in the Garden Suite and now Long Johns Cottage both were just wonderful. - Manoj (10/5): Exceptional - The farm is amazing and very therapeutic. The first thing we did when we reached was to request the owner to extend our stay.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -

Sparse kitchen
Difficult to contact owners
Noise from highway
- Anthony (10/5): Magical Tassie Homestead - We had a magical Christmas getaway at the farmhouse! The cozy decor, crackling fireplace, and festive touches created the perfect holiday ambiance. The spacious rooms with amazing linen, well-equipped kitchen, and stunning countryside views made our stay truly delightful. We got fresh honeycomb, picked cherries and lemons from the trees and saw the horses, swans and platypus. The host's attention to detail and warm welcome added a personal touch that made us feel at home. We created cherished memories in this charming retreat and can't wait to return for more holidays. Highly recommend this hidden gem for a relaxing escape! Everything was perfect
- Roland (10/5): Excellent Hosts & Location! - Hosts Mike & Stacey were very nice & friendly. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Stacey & we had a nice chat. She had also given us one of their very own Tasmanian Raw Honeycomb as a welcome gift. She is so sweet :-) Location was great with easy access to the nearest town at Davenport which is only less than 30mins drive away and also a short drive away to many nearby attractions such as Cradle Mountains, Sheffield Mural Town, Anvers chocolate factory & Ashgrove cheese factory. The cottage is very cosy, lovely & beautiful. It was so nice & quiet with a great view of the horses in the field. Shower facility was great. We felt so at home & wished we could have spent more time. Mike & Stacey were so generous by inviting us to pick the cherries from their cherry trees! It was a very memorable first time experience as we didn't get to do that while we were at Yarra Valley & Philips Island last year due to wet weather. Really none at all :-)
- Changyee_yeo (9/5): Superb - A cozy and farway from city life style. Stacey is very friendly and we have a good time at the farm stay enjoying the nature..the cottage is well equipped with most things u need..it's a short 15mins drive to the nearest town to get grocery.. Nil..

- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Loved this farmstay. As a couple with a 3yr old it was great as it was not a huge distance travel wise. Beautiful location, excellent accommodation will definantly remember this one to book again.
- Steven (9/5): Lovely little place - Lovely and quiet. Beautiful sunsets. Good location. Unfortunately there were ants inside, they were all over our food so we had to store items in the car.
But, you're surrounded by sand and land so it happens. We've had ongoing problems with ants at home in Perth for many years.
- Angus (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (10/5): Cozy warm private country cottage, Excellent bed. Nice and close to all the wonderful farm animals. - Wood fire heating, Electric blanket, comfortable bed. Self sufficient kitchen. Idealic cottage setting. Chickens, ducks and horses for entertainment. A lovely one night stay. Wished we had more time there.

- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - Small and cosy cottage, perfect for the two of us. Easy drive to numerous points of interest and not too far from the raspberry farm where a delicious breakfast can be enjoyed. Hosts were very approachable and helpful, even re-filling the woodbox while we were out. Can't think of anything not to like, however a small fold out clothes airer would be a bonus in the cold damp season.

- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -

- Rosalie (9/5): Superb -
- Namratha (9/5): Excellent location, cosy rooms and an ideal get away from city life. - The cottage has been maintained with it's old-fashioned style, which makes it quite unique. The check-in was smooth, instructions were laid out for everything to make it a super easy and comfortable stay for us. The only small negative was that inspite of everything provided in the kitchen, there was no milk provided. We are usually used to seeing the little 200ml milk packs in all accommodations we go to, and that was missing.
It wasn't a major hindrance or issue but thought I'd mention here.
- Gary (9/5): Superb - Great way to get away from the hustle bustle.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly warm country style welcome
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Theodore (8/5): Comfortable - We liked the outlook from the property and was a good size, and really clean. Felt a little uncomfortable with net curtains in bathroom, but not a real issue
