- MUHSIN (10/5): Wonderful stay at an amazing Location.Tree house, swing and not to forget the lovely roses & animals - Everything was lovely. Very well kept surroundings with friendly animals. A place of serenity.
Great Breakfast with lovely tomatoes, eggs, milk, juice and a variety of cereals and spread to accommodate everyone's taste. Lots of selection for teas and coffees such a pleasant surprise making us feel very welcome. Not to mention the chocolates on arrival, very thoughtful x
- Kirsty (9/5): Perfect for all the family - The location was beautiful and quiet. It had everything you needed for your stay. The breakfast was perfect and the hosts were so friendly. There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like

- John (9/5): Enjoyed the peace and quiet also great value. - Having 10 acres with great views and able to walk around property and see the animals close up was great and accommodation was very spacious and comfortable. Only thing had trouble with was trying to turn around from carport and I only had a sedan a 4+4 no hope
- Simon (10/5): Respite from the city. - Very restful and lively to sit outside.
- Steven (10/5): Unfortunately our stay wasn't long enough. - Property was amazing, garden gorgeous and the breakfast provisions were way beyond our expectations for four adults.

- Samantha rosevear (10/5): - Stunning views the serenity peaceful , lovely owners all the animals and the farm
- Diane (10/5): True tranquillity. The view, animals, so special. - The animals were so wonderful 👍 llamas, Alpacas, emus and cows. Beautiful birds and scenery. Peaceful and relaxing. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The condiments were incredible. We didn't even need to bring our own breakfast. Lots of games / toys for the kids to play with. Close to ballarat which was so pretty to visit. Would love to come here for a quiet weekend away again. Just what the soul needed. Only one thing would be the squeaky bunk beds, however I would still give the place a 10/10.
- Priyanka (9/5): Beautiful Stay - The property is beautiful with a very secluded setting. We just loved how quiet it was. It was lovely to sit outside in the balcony with a cup of tea enjoying the beautiful view. My girl wanted a farm stay for her birthday. It’s not a full working farm but it does the job. Our girls are still missing the emus and the alpacas. The hosts put up a beautiful birthday banner for her and it made her day. They also loved feeding the animals. We will definitely return!
- Hiran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Faithful (8/5): Tranquil place to stay and a choice of the level of interaction with the owners, who were really lovely. - The farm surroundings were great! Our children loved the animals, the grounds were well
Kept and so peaceful to sit amongst the pine tree, overlooking the dam Just minor things like clean dishwashing cloths in the kitchen and a hand towel in the bathroom

- Richard (9/5): Idyllic retreat in country Victoria - Beautiful spot for a laid-back few days with family. Set on rolling hills about 20 minutes out of Ballarat, a beautiful, secluded and peaceful property set with gum trees, open paddocks and a well-kept garden. The property is set up well for families, with many small activities to distract the kids. There is a lot to explore on the property both around the house and on the farm itself. Easy to get to Ballarat, but nearby Buninyong also has a great supermarket and cafes. Fully equipped kitchen - easy to self-cater.
- Vida (8/5): I loved the alpaca, very cute - Breakfast was plenty and very good
Farm setting with farm animals was very relaxing and comfortable Under the kitchen sink was not clean as well as few old dish washing sponge- need replacing with new

- Kimberley (9/5): Absolutely beautiful! Would love to come back! - Absolutely gorgeous location! The property was beautiful, the cottage had everything we needed and the hosts were lovely! It was very cold. That’s not the property’s fault, the location itself is very cold in winter. Take plenty of warm clothes!

- Bonnie (10/5): Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and comfortable. Such a lovely place for a quiet family escape. Our 2yo loved wandering - Beautiful property, comfortable and clean accommodation and lovely hosts Nothing, it was all great
- Gail (8/5): Beautiful setting, lovely animals. - Very good breakfast supplies. Beautiful setting and area. Lovely to visit the animals and walk around the property, and nice view from most windows. Great location to visit surrounding areas. There's a skylight in the second bedroom so it's difficult to sleep-in. Bunk beds creak a lot too - disturbing when anyone moves during the night. Need a few items in the kitchen, such as a grater.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Mathew (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (9/5): Peaceful, convenient to town. Beautiful scenery and kangaroos and echidna - The views. Tranquility No privacy door on shower, especially if someone would need to use toilet

- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and peaceful surrounds with great facilities. Hosts were welcoming and helpful.
- David (10/5): We had a very relaxing weekend getaway and will be very happy to recommend Emu Lodge to others. - Emu Lodge is a quiet, peaceful location in beautiful rural surroundings. There's lots of room in the open-plan living area (although there were only two of us), with everything you could need in the kitchen, and plentiful breakfast provisions...eggs, cereals, bread, milk, ham, fruit etc. It remained pleasantly cool inside on a very hot day, which was a welcome bonus.
- Costello (9/5): Wish we could have been there for longer. Very peaceful location. - Beautiful location. Breakfast supplies were amazing.
- Rahul (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (10/5): Lovely cottage - Excellent breakfast and lovely cottage. The owners are great and did everything for us to have a wonderful stay. Very good for a weekend with children. It’s very close to great attractions in Ballarat. Thanks for a lovely stay
- Farshad (6/5): Pleasant - - Some of the breakfast/snak was expired, and my little girls get stomach pain.
- Marni (10/5): Exceptional - The scenery was beautiful and the hosts very welcoming. Our girls loved the animals and fairy garden.
- Muhsin (10/5): Amazing will come back for sure@ - The breakfast exceeded expectations with juice, coffee, eggs, tomatoes, olives all fresh and an assortment of tea/coffee and cereals.
The bed and linen were very comfy and the kids room had plenty of games and books to keep them occupied.
The animals were a hit and the scenery was amazing.
- Roland (10/5): A very beautiful & tranquil holiday lodge! - Emu Lodge is very beautiful. Both Living Room & Master Bedroom have beautiful view of the garden & landscape. It's quiet & very tranquil. We enjoyed the peace & tranquility of our stay which provided some respite from the noisy & crowded city in Singapore. Ian & Rae were very generous with the breakfast items. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen. Nothing at all.
- Amy (5/5): Nice location, but a bit tired and dirty - The included breakfast was very generous, and included delicious fresh eggs that lasted throughout our stay. The farm was as described, with plenty of animals for children to enjoy. The gardens were well-maintained, with beautiful lawns, flowers and dams. We found the location convenient to enjoy Ballarat and surrounding towns. We were grateful for the host responding quickly to our pre-arrival questions. The proprty was a hodge-podge of DIY work, and only partially modernised (different to how it's portrayed in the photos). The shower and toilet were very old, dirty and in need of replacement. The shower had not been cleaned for years and was completely mouldy (up to knee level) - unuseable without thongs, and the door did not close. Cleanliness througout the property was not good, and the two of us spent an hour cleaning upon arrival. The furnishings were also in need of updating, but were serviceable. Unfortunately there was no dishwasher, and the kitchen was not clean (crumbs, dust and fingerprints), requiring crockery, cutlery and all equipment to be washed before use. There was no washing machine, which would be a useful addition for those with young children. There was contrasting generosity between the breakfast and essential items such as dishwashing liquid and toilet paper (e.g. 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 people over a 4-night stay). The cooking facilities were ok, but lacking key items (e.g. oven trays/dishes; colander, grater, mixing/serving/salad bowls, measuring spoons/cups; and there was only one large chopping board that didn't fit in the sink). There was no coffee maker - lucky we brought our own. There were no fly-wire screens on the door, and we spent days getting rid of dozens of mosquitos. There is also a connectinng door between the second bedroom and the owners' residence (that guests cannot lock from their side), which is a little unnerving for those with children. On one morning, we were woken by screaming children, and a person loudly walking past the bedroom/living room windows, which disturbed the otherwise serence and private accommodation. As someone from the country, I understand the need to conserve water, and take short showers, however, found it a little cheeky to ask guests to take 2-min showers after paying $160pn.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful property and very generous breakfast spread
- Jilly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (8/5): Very good - The place is brilliant except some of the internal doors jam don't close properly
- Manmeet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Durai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shanila (5/5): Lovely stay, watch out for the electric fence! - The ambience, location and breakfast were great.
Loved the views in the morning and the proximity to the animals.
Comfy beds, love the funky mirror in the master bedroom. There was no notice or warning about the electric fences. My brother learnt about it by accidentally touching it! A major hazard like that should warrant a sign board on the fence. My very young children could have touched the electric fence the same way. Thankfully they didn't.
The Orange juice provided went out of date (past best before date) the day after check-in.
The mirror and spaces under the beds were dirty. I had to sweep it up to ensure my children didn't inhale the dust.
Lower bunk in the second bedroom was very noisey.
Tissue boxes not provided.
